Episode 8: Unpacking Proposed Legislation Changes in QLD with Dr Rebecca English
Mar 11, 2024 Season 1 Episode 8
Sisters Who Homeschool

If you are currently homeschooling in Queensland, you may have some uncertainty this week around the proposed changes to the Education (General Provisions) Act 2006 released on Wednesday 6 March 2024.

If you are feeling some confusion around these changes, you are not alone!

Here to shed light on the areas of concern for homeschooling families is Dr Rebecca English, a Senior Lecturer of Education.

As a researcher, teacher and mother, Dr English's work is concerned with parenting and education. She holds a particular interest in the choice of non-mainstream education, especially democratic schools and home education (amazing!). Dr English explores questions of how parenting practices and beliefs are enacted in families and how these practices and beliefs lead to parents making certain choices for their children.

And... she has kindly given up her Sunday to chat with us. Thank you Dr English!

Thanks for listening!

We would love to answer your questions and help you share your stories.
