Sage in Time: The Podcast
I am a sex-positive Licensed Professional / Mental Health Counselor in Pennsylvania and New York, and this channel features interviews with a individuals who often find themselves in marginalized demographics. They may be LGBTQ+, BIPOC, with undiagnosed or diagnosed learning disorders or differences, and, while not clients of mine, the experiences they have lived, whether painful or victorious (or some of both categories), may be representative of the clients that I serve in my practice as a Mental Healthcare provider. Note: I do not know the experiences or mental health background of my guests. Regardless, my own professional experience is varied and based on the clients that have been assigned to me in group practice or that I have Consulted with within the Solo Private Practice.
There may be times when a guest has requested not to be on camera. I honor those requests. Those episodes will still be available to listen to on YouTube, but will not have motion video. The video will be replaced either by headshots of each of us, or the show's current logo. There may be times when guests request not to give their names and use a pseudonym. I honor that request as well.

"I do not provide any mental health or other professional services or advice, and even when discussing with guests, any and all responses to questions are general and not specific. Content is for general information only and never constitutes advice for any individual, couple, family, or other form of relationships. I make no claims that information I provide is always completely accurate and up-to-date, and listeners must check primary sources before relying on such information or opinion. Under absolutely no circumstances do I provide legal advice or medical advice.
"Any reference to past patients or other individuals are heavily blurred as to specifics of age, gender, time period, location, and details of their condition or situation. They may even represent a composite of several clients or other individuals. The fictionalizing of details is such that the actual clients and others would not recognize themselves. Names are, of course, fictitious, but are used to keep track of dynamics when multiple individuals are named in an anecdote."

Q/A #2: ESA Letters, Can I Be Your Therapist?, and How Do I Find/Vet/Fire My Therapist?
Derek takes another stab at taking questions from listeners. This time, he addresses Emotional Support Animals, including how he supports clients and their Emotional Support Animals, detailing advice from the American Counseling Association as to how to protect the animal and the client/handler. This is a more significant request than any "ESA Letter Mill" will communicate for a nominal fee online. We want to be responsible and communicate well for your safety and the animal's.
Derek also answers the common request as to if he is permitted or has time to provide therapy to someone who finds him on social media through a group or page. Following up on that is how to find a therapist, in different jurisdictions, as well as how to property vet/select a provider for what may be a 3 month to decade-long therapeutic relationship. He also addresses how to terminate a therapeutic relationship with a provider; it can be really emotionally taxing, particularly for someone who might be experiencing the trauma response of "fawn" (associated with people pleasing).
I, as a therapist, serve my clients. They don't work for me.
If you live in New York or Pennsylvania and are interested in learning more about working with me in the context of mental health therapy, check out my profile at the Sage in Time website. Unfortunately, I am not able to accept any Managed Medicare or Medicaid, regardless of the branding.
I am a sex-positive AuDHD mental health counselor who specializes in griefwork and relationships, working within the AuDHD space, supporting those of diverse sexual orientations and genders, of those engaged in non-traditional relationship structures, and I offer services to individuals, couples, families, or other systems of multiple individuals.
A special thank you to Melissa Reagan for providing the voice talent over the episode theme music.
