Those who work as a "First Responder" certainly experience a lot of things over the course of a career including things which can never be unseen. Unfortunately, this often leads to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Surprisingly, only recently has there been a focus on the self-care and mental well being of our public servants and this is a great thing.
In this episode, David talks with Derek Grant who shares his personal story of alcohol addiction, a PTSD diagnosis, and recovery. Listen in as Derek recounts the days leading up to his decision to ask for help and the moment he made the call.
