Fluff Has Lost His Woof - The poor little pooch searches everywhere, and then .... KS1

Dave Corbett

Poor old Fluff has woken up very hot, and discovers that he has lost his woof!

Yes, lost his woof. He can only manage a measly croak.

He searches everywhere for it, but it has well and truly disappeared ….

until he has a great big slurp of water.

FLUFF’S WOOF      Script      2024      Dave Corbett

It had been a really, really hot night. Fluff had wished he hadn’t had as much fur. Fluff opened his little doggy eyes and saw a mouse. A mouse … in the house? He barked, and, oh dear, there was no bark. Actually there was a little bit of a bark. It sounded like this … SOFT BARK. It didn’t even scare the mouse, which just wandered off, slowly, behind the freezer in the utility room. Fluff barked again, and it was the same little croaky noise, nothing like Fluff’s normal loud bark. Fluff had lost his bark. Oooh dear. I’d better go and find it, thought Fluff, and off he set.

He looked in all the places he thought it might be, but he couldn’t remember leaving it anywhere at all. How can you leave a woof somewhere anyway? He barked again, just to check, and there was just that crummy little croak. SOFT BARK. Fluff checked the hall … not there. He barked just to make sure but there was just that jokey croak. He checked the kitchen, and then the bathroom. Nope.He looked under the beds in the bedrooms … even crawled right underneath to make sure. Nothing there, except two old slippers. Certainly no woof.

Outside? Perhaps his woof was in the garden? But it wasn’t, and it wan’t in the shed either. Fluff tried barking. SOFT WOOF No, no woof anywhere. He went up the stairs to the attic, and down the stairs to the cellar, but there only mostly cobwens in both places. No woofs for sure.

Fluff checked all the cupboards he could reach, and, last of all he checked under the stairs. Things were getting desperate, and Fluff was getting hot. He had woken up hot and all this searching had made him even hotter.

He went back to the utility room and had a long, cool drink from his water bowl. Mmm, that felt good, and his throat really enjoyed all that water slipping down. Fluff tried a bark … and there it was! A real woof. LOUD BARK. Fluff’s throat had been really dry, but now it was just fine ... and so was his woof. Nice one Fluff.

FLUFF’S WOOF    Lyrics    2024    Dave Corbett

Fluff’ has lost his woof, woof, woof

Oh yes, it’s gone, gone, gone.

It sounds just like a croak, it sounds just like a joke.

 Listen. (soft barks)

Was it in the kitchen? Was it in the hall?

Was it in the bathroom? No sign of it at all.

Was it in the front room, underneath the bed?

Was it in the back room? it wasn’t in the shed.

Fluff has lost his woof, woof, woof

Oh yes, it’s gone, gone, gone.

It sounds just like a croak, it sounds just like a joke.

 Listen. (soft barks)

Was it in the attic, was it in the loo?

Was it in the cellar? Fluff had looked there too.

Was it in the cupboard? underneath the stairs?

outside in the garden? Fluff had just looked there.

Fluff has lost his woof, woof, woof

Oh yes, it’s gone, gone, gone.

It sounds just like a croak, it sounds just like a joke.

 Listen. (soft barks)

Fluff is hot and tired, he stops to have a drink,

now he has his woof back, as fast as you can blink.

BARKS
