A monkey monkey monkey. I'm so fun. The monkey monkey monkey monkey song is done. Also there's elephant.
SPEAKER_00Hmm. It's still not turning on. Did you put the batteries in monk?
SPEAKER_03Yes, I did.
SPEAKER_00To be clear, you put them in the police car.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, uh, I put the batteries in the trash.
SPEAKER_00What why?
SPEAKER_03You know, honestly, I don't even know. Sometimes I just do weird things and I can't explain why.
SPEAKER_00Can you please get them out of the trash?
SPEAKER_03Yes, I can. I know just how to handle this problem. I've always wanted to do this.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, don't dump all the buttons. Trash.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that was even more fun than I expected.
SPEAKER_00Why, monkey? Why would you dump the trash out? Now there's trash everywhere.
SPEAKER_03You're telling me! What a dump!
SPEAKER_00Could you please find the batteries and then clean up all this trash?
SPEAKER_03Of course. With your help, I'll clean up all this trash and have fun doing it.
SPEAKER_00I'm not helping you with this. This mess is your responsibility. You caused it and now you have to clean it up.
SPEAKER_03Oh, come on, let's have an adventure! A classic monkey and elephant adventure. I'll do silly stuff, you'll be all responsible, we'll learn something, and the problem will be solved in 15 minutes.
SPEAKER_00No thanks, monk. Your actions have consequences. You made a huge mess. Now you have to clean it up. Just start cleaning. It won't take long.
SPEAKER_03Ugh. I thought grown-ups were supposed to clean up my messes. Aren't there any grown-ups in this house?
SPEAKER_00Actually, that's a bit unclear. Our writer hasn't developed that part of the story yet.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_00Never mind. Just pick up the trash.
SPEAKER_03Why should I have to pick it up? A lot of this stuff wasn't even my trash to begin with.
SPEAKER_00But you made the mess by dumping out the trash can. You know, Monk, sometimes when we don't want to do something, we complain about it and we make excuses. But that doesn't help. It just wastes time and can make others upset. The quickest and easiest way to get done with something you don't want to do is just to do it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, man. Relax, bro. Chill, dude. Easy guy. I will pick up the trash.
SPEAKER_02I like picking up trash, that's my favorite thing. I like picking up trash, it makes me wanna sing. I'll keep picking up trash until everything's clean. If you like picking up trash, come pick up trash with me. Pick it up trash like a trash truck. Work it till the trash can't all fill up. Separate work like a lick a two pin. So that's gonna be used again. Wanna clean up the world, gotta do my parts. Pick it up, trash. Well, that's the car. So give it up for the trash can. Empty in your trash can. Make it up, take it up, go away. Wanna be like it wants it because I like picking up trash. That's my favorite thing. I like picking up trash, it makes me want to say picking up trash up until everything's clean. I love it when the trash truck comes around, when the trash drop comes around. I love it when the trash crop comes around, when the trash drop comes around. I love it when the trash truck comes around, when the trash drop comes around. I love it when the trash cup comes around, when the trash drop comes around. I love it when the trash I like picking up my favorite. I like picking up the trash on the pick.
SPEAKER_03My first piece of trash, and it's a dirty, gross paper towel. Oh, this is hopeless. There must be a better way. Oh. I know. I'll form a team to clean up the trash. Monkey's trash squad.
SPEAKER_01Monkey's trash squad.
SPEAKER_03I'll hire an elite squad of trash fighting heroes who will help me save the kitchen from trash.
SPEAKER_00Or you could just clean it up yourself. It will take less than ten minutes.
SPEAKER_03Nope, trash squad. Monkeys trash squad. Time to conduct interviews! Monkeys Trash Squad! Hello, welcome to your interview. What is your name?
SPEAKER_00I'm Turtle.
SPEAKER_03Hello, Turtle. And why do you think that you belong on my trash squad? The what? Monkey's Trash Squad!
unknownMonkey's Trash Squad!
SPEAKER_03The elite squad of trash fighting heroes who are going to help me save the kitchen from trash.
SPEAKER_00Hmm, how much will you pay me? What?
SPEAKER_03This isn't a job where you get paid. You get valuable experience in getting rid of trash. Plus, you get to hang out with me. Hey, hey, where are you going? Get back here! Monkey's trash squad. Hello. Welcome to your interview. What is your name? I'm Albert. Albert? Yep. Uh don't you have like an animal name or something? Nope. Just Albert. Uh okay. Albert, do you have any experience picking up trash? What's the trash? You know, trash. Like stuff that's in a trash can. I have boogers. Oh no. Monkey's trash squad. Hello, welcome to your interview. What's your name? I'm Tiger. Hello, Tiger. Why do you want to join my trash squad?
SPEAKER_01I don't want to join your trash squad. Well then why are you here? Elephant asked me to interview with you to make you feel better. Since nobody else wants to. Because nobody wants to clean up your mess. So do you feel better? No? Oh, I'm sorry. But I'm really not sorry. And I think you should just clean up the mess you made. Oh.
SPEAKER_03Well, thank you for your consideration.
SPEAKER_00How's the trash squad coming along, Munk?
SPEAKER_03Not good, Ellie. Do you want to read a book with me?
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_01And now, a story.
SPEAKER_02The trash truck came to Sarah's house once a week to empty her family's trash can. Sarah loved trash trucks, but she had never been able to see this trash truck. This was because it came to her house very early in the morning before Sarah woke up. She even tried waking up earlier to see the trash truck in action, but no matter how early she woke up, the trash truck had already come by. So it was with great excitement that Sarah woke up very early one morning to the sound of loud banging and smashing noises outside. The trash truck, she thought. This has got to be the trash truck. Finally! Sarah looked out the window. She saw the trash truck, but there was trash all over the street. All the trash cans were knocked over and piles of trash littered her neighborhood. Several doors down, she saw a trash truck with a lonely worker outside the truck picking up trash in the street. He looked like he needed help. Sarah ran to her dad's room. Dad, can I go outside and help the trash truck worker pick up the trash that's covering our neighborhood? I promise I'll be safe. Her dad, who was asleep, mumbled a response. Sounds good, sweetie. Trash neighborhood. Then he rolled over and farted and went back to sleep. Sarah high-fived herself and ran into her room to get changed. She put on clothes that she wouldn't mind getting dirty. She then ran downstairs and ran outside toward the worker. Hi, I'm Sarah. I live right there, she said, pointing to her house with her sleeping, farting dad inside. Hello, Sarah. I'm Mr. Gilly, he replied. What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be sleeping? It's so early. I just had to come out here. I'm so excited, she said. I always try to see your trash truck and I wake up on trash day, but I'm always too late. Whenever I wake up, you're already gone. It's like you're magic. I'm not magic. I'm just doing my job. But I'm a hard worker and I have a great truck. And I have a great job serving our community, which I love doing. So there's something magic about that. Definitely, replied Sarah. So what happened out here? Why is trash everywhere? Did a storm blow the trash cans over or something? No, it wasn't a storm. And this may sound crazy, but it was p an evil villain known as the Trash Master. He wants to spread trash and pollution everywhere. Tonight he came through and knocked over all the trash cans in the neighborhood. I'm trying to clean all this up before everyone wakes up. Why don't you stop the trash master? Sarah asked. Mr. Gilly sighed. I wouldn't really know where to start, and uh I have to pick up all this trash. And I'm sure he's long gone by now anyway. Why should you have to pick all this up? Sarah asked. It's his mess, make him clean it up. That would be more fair, said Mr. Gilly. But I don't know. I'm good at picking up trash, not catching bad guys. What if I helped you catch him? asked Sarah. Mr. Gilly laughed. Really? That sounds very dangerous. And I couldn't ask you to help. Dealing with all this trash is my job after all. But you didn't make this mess. You shouldn't have to clean it up. Also, it's my neighborhood, and I want to help stop this guy. We could put a stop to him once and for all, and make him clean up this mess. Seriously? said Mr. Gilly. Absolutely, dude, said Sarah. Alright, so what do we do? How do we find the trash master? That part's easy, said Sarah. We just have to follow the trail of trash.
unknownMr.
SPEAKER_02Gilly and Sarah drove Mr. Gilly's trash truck at top speed, dodging trash cans and trash that litter the road. They followed the trail of trash several miles until up ahead they saw a huge monster truck with giant wheels. It was swerving all over the road and smashing into trash cans. A path of trash and destruction lay in its wake. That's Trashmaster's truck, said Mr. Gilly. Alright, how do we stop him? I don't have much experience fighting bad guys. Don't worry, said Sarah I have brothers, so I have a lot of experience fighting bad guys. Let me think. Hmm. I got it. Sarah explained her plan to Mr. Gilly. Meanwhile, Trashmaster was driving up ahead and didn't even notice them. I love making huge, awful, disgusting, nasty messes. Ha ha! It will take Mr. Gilly forever to clean all this up. And with him busy, no one can stop me from spreading my trash all over the world. Oh, here's another trash can, he yelled, and his truck crashed into another trash can and sent litter and trash and gross stuff flying everywhere. All of a sudden, something smashed into his truck. What was that? He shouted in shock. He parked his truck and got out. Just then, a bunch of trash smashed into him and knocked him over. Got him! shouted Sarah. She had loaded trash onto the back of Mr. Gilly's trash truck. Then Mr. Gilly raised the arms of the truck super fast to launch trash bombs at the trash master. Another blast of trash landed on Trashmaster, burying him in yucky, sticky, stinky trash. Get me out of this yucky, sticky, stinky trash! Ew, this is gross. Sure, we'll let you out, said Sarah. After you agree to stop spreading trash around and causing chaos. Oh, and you have to clean up this entire mess you made. Clean up? But I've never cleaned up anything in my life. I make messes. I don't clean messes. We are responsible for cleaning up the messes we make, said Mr. Gilly. Not taking responsibility for our actions can turn people into monsters. Oh, okay, whatever. Just let me out. I'll clean up the trash, said Trashmaster. And stop littering and causing chaos and destruction, said Sarah. And stop littering and causing chaos and destruction, said Trashmaster. So, Trashmaster cleaned the neighborhood with Mr. Gilly and Sarah supervising him. Amazingly, Trashmaster discovered that he actually really enjoyed picking up trash. Whee! he shouted with glee. It's so cool watching the trash truck smash the trash. It goes by the time the neighborhood was cleaned up, Mr. Gilly and the Trash Master agreed to team up and empty trash cans and dumpsters together. Sarah was so happy when she came home. She ran upstairs to her dad, who was still sleeping. Hey dad, I met Mr. Gilly and we defeated the Trash Master, and the Trash Master turned into a good guy. Then he joined Mr. Gilly as his helper, and the two of them will collect the trash together. Hmm, sounds good as we um evil trash master. Then Sarah's dad rolled over and farted and went back to sleep.
SPEAKER_00Did you learn anything from that story, monkey?
SPEAKER_03Nope. Can we go back to playing now?
SPEAKER_00Not until the trash is picked up.
SPEAKER_03Oh right. No problem. I'll clean it up. Won't take long. Hey, here are the batteries for your police car.
SPEAKER_00Oh, thanks, Monk.
SPEAKER_03Alright, alright. Makeway coming through. Monkey coming through with his trash truck. No need to thank me, just doing my job, folks. Oh, that was so cool! I love talking about trash and trash trucks. It's all just so awesome. Did you know that my first word that I ever said when I was a little baby monkey was trash? Seriously. First word, trash. We also talked about like personal responsibility or something. But we also talked about trash. That was cool. We had fun with you. Let's do it again. We'll find more fun things to do. Oh yeah. Oh, it's not done. Uh monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey, monkey. You're telling me! What a dump! Oh monkey. No?
