Chapter 9. Healthy for the Long Call. Now that you know health is the foundation from which everything else flourishes, you're all set to create a life of awesomeness. It's my hope that the whole life fitness manifesto has ignited your passion and got you raring to go. Look back on the difficulties we faced with earlier attempts to become healthier and happier. You've probably already learned that there is no instant fixes when it comes to fitness and health, but I hope I've provided you with some healthy habits that you're willing to put into action. Our futures are largely determined by choices and actions we make today. Thankfully, it's never too late to make changes that will put us on a better trajectory. Can you sense the possibilities?

Speaker 1:

We all know that life can get in the way of even the most established routines. Most of us will need to work around recovery from an illness or injury at some point. Don't feel bad about slowing down a little to let yourself heal. That's what you're supposed to do. But even if you can't work out quite as hard or use every muscle group in the same way, it's important to keep the habit going strong, as long as you're doing something to move your body with purpose and intent for 15 minutes a day and, ideally, refueling your mind through meditation and personal development, then I'm happy. Just don't give up. It's perfectly okay to switch things up and add a little variety when inspiration strikes. Who knows what new activity you might discover in the future? Maybe you'll develop a love of running, of yoga or dance. It's great to change up your workout routine to do more of what you enjoy most.

We only get one life, so why not make the most of it and experience all that? We can. Push yourself to try new experiences. Your choices are endless. Say heck yes to new opportunities, knowing that you have the health and fitness, along with the confidence in yourself, to enjoy new adventures, whatever they may be.

With the whole life fitness manifesto, my aim is to encourage you to pursue as full a life as possible, a life that you can look back on without regrets. Remember that we don't have to settle for average. I'm all for appreciating what we have our families, our homes, our jobs but it's important to strive to be better every day, because that's how we grow. My hope is that the whole life fitness power 30 will inject a bit of greatness into your day, that it will make you feel great and that it will propel you to shoot for so much more, aiming a little higher in everything you do. In addition, remember that there are major benefits to taking time out of every day for a few minutes of mindful meditation. By establishing a whole life fitness ritual that tones your mind and body as well as your Spirit, you're setting yourself up to be healthy for the long haul. And when that happens, not only will you conquer your personal fitness goals, you'll also empower others to take control of their health. Can I get a big hurrah for that? Hurrah? I love? That word Just gets me excited. And, of course, life isn't just about you and me, it's about us. We need each other.

The whole life fitness manifesto is based on a sense of community. Each participant has the capacity to hold each other accountable, but also to support each other, to have fun and bring joy to our tribe members. We can always count on our tribe to pick us up when we're down and encourage us to follow through on our own personal commitments and goals, because they have our best interests in mind. Just as Michelangelo saw his masterpiece David within a block of marble, our tribe can also see the potential in each of us. Through emotional support, unconditional friendship and accountability. We draw the masterpiece from within each other. My friend, I want to thank you for allowing me the opportunity to enter your life and for reading, or I should say listening to, this book. It's my hope that the narrative doesn't end here.
