Taylor Slaughter, a mother of four and gerontology grad student at Kansas State University, became Oklahoma’s youngest Nursing Home Administrator in 2017 after working her way up from CNA. She shares her journey, leadership insights, and passion for reshaping long-term care as the “Silver Tsunami” generation rises.

She has also certified over 100 Certified Dementia Practitioners in the past 3 years is still going strong with that initiative, having at least 10-15 students every quarter. With baby boomers reaching age 65+ and the huge shift LTC will endure, she feel's strongly on educating healthcare workers on Dementia. 

Taylor was recognized at McKnight’s this year for Women of Distinction Rising Star Award and participated on a panel there for “Mitigating risk, enhancing safety: How medication management is evolving”

She has LNHA, CADDCT, CDP and CNA credentials.


Taylor says when faced with challenging situations, she asks herself 'how can I show I care more?'
