Emily Mowrer is currently a bilingual program manager with a nonprofit in Colorado that assists folks with intellectual disabilities. She has a background in adult English as a second language education and started teaching in small community centers in North Carolina. After moving to Colorado, she encountered the disability world after her son was born with medical challenges. Coming full circle, she manages taxpayer funds and gets them back into the disability community through additional services and support. She also has a small vegan soap business that she runs with a friend from her community.
