Melissa Singletary is the founder and director of Books for Boots, a 501(c)(3) military nonprofit that provides books, movies, CDs, puzzles, and more to military members—from injured recruits at basic training to veterans. Melissa launched this heartfelt initiative after her oldest daughter was injured during Marine basic training at Parris Island and found herself in need of reading material during recovery.
