What BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) Is
• A common vaginal condition caused by an imbalance of bacteria in the vagina
• Normally, “good” bacteria (like lactobacilli) dominate—but in BV, harmful bacteria overgrow
• It is not strictly an STI, but sexual activity can influence it

• Thin, grayish-white discharge
• Strong “fishy” odor (often more noticeable after sex)
• Vaginal itching or irritation (sometimes)
• Some people have no symptoms at all
Why BV Can Come Back (Recurrence)
• BV has a high recurrence rate
• Biofilm (protective layer of harmful bacteria) may make treatment less effective
