Welcome to episode 100 of the Pure Possibilities podcast. I honestly can't believe we're here. Well, that's not true. I can believe it because I love doing this so much. However, I had no idea where things were gonna go. When I first began, I was terrified, if you recall, if you've been listening since the beginning or if you've gone back and listened. But this has been such an incredibly beautiful journey for me and I often hear messages from listeners which I truly appreciate.
Speaker 1:I had one person share with me, starting with your mini series in January about feeling your way into the new year. Your podcast started helping me climb out of a deep funk. On multiple occasions you reminded me to get out of my head and into my body. That shift alone was huge for me. Having you guide me through your more program appended my life in amazing ways that I didn't expect. I have moved past so much conditioning and I have allowed myself to align my actions with who I am, letting my gifts roll out for those who need them. Oh so, so incredibly beautiful, and being a part of your journey has been just absolutely magical for me and I feel honored to have been a part of your journey. So thank you so much. Another listener wrote I just finished all the podcasts. Wow, so insightful and inspirational. Binged all 97. Highly recommend if you are ready to do some self-work. Thank you, thank you. Thank you for this beautiful message and this. This is truly what this has been about for me.
Speaker 1:If you recall, in the beginning I had done an episode where I was introducing myself and allowing you the opportunity to get to know me a little bit, and it was called I see you and it was based off of a download that had come to me overnight and it still holds true to me today and is really the foundation for the show. And I didn't even realize it until I was re-listening, because I was like I feel like I want to replay that episode. It's one of the most listened to episodes of the show. I feel like I want to replay that episode. It's one of the most listened to episodes of the show and it really is the foundation of my work here, of what I'm wanting to accomplish. And in the episode I said I don't expect to change the world, I just want to impact at least one person every day. And I have a little bit of a different outlook on that now because I believe together we all can change the world and the ripple effect that can happen when you choose to dive in and do the deep inner work I don't really like to call it work, but when you shift things around and start to focus on yourself and I know that there are people out there that think that is selfish and I I just don't and because the more you care for and tend to yourself and honor your thoughts, feelings and emotions and learn how to express yourself in a healthy way and live in conscious awareness that's come up a lot it can change your life. And when I look back at all of this that I have created over the last almost two years, I live and embody this work and it is absolutely life changing.
Speaker 1:When I wrote ICU, in it I named many struggles that so many of us carry going through the motions of life afraid of judgment, losing yourself in others' needs while ignoring your own, escaping pain through food, alcohol or other various ways to numb yourself out, feeling like, no matter how hard you try, you're never enough, afraid to fail, afraid to succeed, afraid to tell the truth about how you actually feel, wanting to be loved for who you really are, but not even knowing who that is. We become so detached from ourselves, feeling unloved, alone, empty and isolated, and truly at the heart of this is that our job is to feel good. And I do see you. I've been you and sometimes I still am, and that's through the show and just through my life I've been realizing, the more true I am to myself, my authenticity comes through and I'm not abandoning myself anymore and I can be who I am regardless of who I'm with, and that is huge. That is a huge, huge shift. I want to help you get honest about what you desire and what you want your life to be like and remind you that you have that power. You are so much more powerful than you even realize. I added learning how to help you regulate your nervous system so you feel safe enough to actually grow and move into that next version of yourself. Helping you rewire old beliefs that keep you stuck and reminding you that sometimes the most powerful move is that pause that we create, the pause and listening to and feeling your body talk, breathing, breathing. Breathing is always available intentional breathing, and listening and knowing when it's time to take that next step, even when it's uncomfortable, especially when it's uncomfortable.
Speaker 1:So, over the course of these hundred episodes, we did several mini series. We explored feeling your way into the new year, choosing how you want to feel. Instead of chasing those resolutions Unapologetically, you stepping out of people-pleasing and fear of judgment, fearless, shifting from fear into love, from contraction to expansion, feel good again, reconnecting with your body's signals, your nervous system and your joy. And then, most recently, do you even know yourself anymore? Rediscovering yourself underneath the roles and expectations. We've had incredible guests on the show sharing trauma, healing, nervous system safety, intuition, relationships and soul level transformations. Every one of those conversations has been about seeing yourself more clearly and remembering that you hold the power to create a life that feels like yours and that you love and enjoy. Because this is it. We're here right now and let's live the life that we actually want to be living, not the life that we're told we should live. So for episode 100, it felt right to me to return to the message that has been deeply rooted in all of these episodes, even more so than I had even realized until I went back and listened again, and this episode is just as true now as it was then, and afterwards I will come back and pull a card from the Magicka Void of Card deck and we'll do some closing reflections and a little taste of what's to come in the next 100 episodes.
Speaker 1:This is I See you In today's episode. I wanted to allow you the opportunity to get to know me a little bit better and help you to understand, I guess, where my desire for helping people comes from. Every day, when I post on social media, or even when I've been recording my podcasts, I always do it with intention, and my intention that I put out there before I post anything is that I hope this message reaches whoever needs to hear it. Today I don't have any intention of changing the world, but if I can change one person's world, or if there's one small nugget of information that could help you or someone you love each day, then I know that my heart and soul are filled for the day. And maybe this message won't resonate with you today, but maybe it will tomorrow, or maybe someone you know. So, anyway, I have struggled a little bit to gain some clarity on explaining what I do and why I want to help people, and probably a month or two ago I can't remember now I woke up in the middle of the night and I had like this massive I don't know, I can call it a download. I guess that came to me and fortunately I keep paper next to my bed. So when I do wake up, and after you've been sleeping, you are in a greater state of resistance because you've been asleep and your mind isn't going. And so I woke up and I want to read to you what came to me. I see you.
Speaker 1:I see you going through the motions every day, afraid of what others will think about you. Not making time for yourself because everyone else's needs seem more important. Having your heart broken or getting upset by others. Disappointing you, not telling people what you really want so you don't upset them. Escaping and finding comfort with food, alcohol, gambling or other addictive behaviors. Unhappy in your relationship because you're afraid you can't do it on your own. Afraid to do what you want with your life because of the judgment of others. Staying stuck because you don't want to hurt other people. Unhappy that you're just never good enough with how hard you work at your job. Feeling defeated every day from the pain that you're in. What you do is never enough for you or anyone else. Not wanting to be alone, afraid you're going to fail. Afraid you're going to succeed. Feeling like you want your life to be different, but you just don't know what to do or how to make that happen. Not knowing what would make you truly happy, looking outside of yourself for validation and happiness, wanting someone in your life to change something, but they just don't. Living your life based on the opinion of others, wanting to be loved for who you truly are, but afraid to express who that actually is because you don't even know, worried that the changes you've made won't stick and you'll go back to your old ways, afraid of what would happen if you told someone how you truly felt about a situation or about them Unloved, alone, empty, isolated.
Speaker 1:Our job is to feel good. I see you, I've been you and sometimes I still am. It's definitely taken time. It's definitely taken time for me to get to a space where, when things come up, I approach it from a place of curiosity. When we have those thoughts and feelings and emotions, it's the thoughts that trigger the emotion. That are the ones we need to get curious about, because we have thoughts all day long, right, but the ones that actually are a trigger. That's where we need to say, hmm, what's going on here? Why am I feeling this way, what can I do to shift myself to feeling better in this moment and then allow myself some space to be able to go back and actually really kind of dive into what's going on there? It seems to me that most of the time, something pretty massive needs to happen in our lives to trigger a change.
Speaker 1:And I know I personally was pretty miserable and I would actually say I didn't realize it. I felt stuck. You make decisions. I made the decision at 15 years old to start working and then I got married right out of high school at 18 years old, and then life just kind of started to happen and you feel like you make a decision and then you're kind of stuck with that and going through that fear I guess maybe it's fear, maybe it's not of you know what are people going to think if I, if I go down this other path anyway, I kind of got into that monotony of the daily grind and you know you wake up, you go to work, you take care of your kids, go home, you go to work, you take care of your kids, go home, you go to bed, like all the things.
Speaker 1:And it just was over and over and over again and I had multiple relationships that ended. I used to say that they failed, but now I just say that they ended, because all of those relationships are so important to me now, because I mean, not that they weren't important then but, looking back, I wouldn't be where I'm at if I didn't have those experiences. And I think that's sometimes something that we forget that everything is happening exactly as it's meant to to lead us down the path that we're supposed to be on. And I reflect back and I realize how much I have grown and I'm so thankful for those situations, situations. So when I say that something massive has to happen, usually to trigger a change, I had been in a long-term relationship and it ended about seven years ago actually just over seven years ago and not only did the relationship with my I lost an intimate relationship with my fiance at the time but I also lost a long-term, a change in our lives.
Speaker 1:And I don't know what your situation might be or what might be happening in your life, but for me it was the ending of these two very important relationships in my life and I felt shattered and lost and betrayed and hurt and, oh my gosh, was I a victim at that time. I don't see it that way anymore Right now, in this space in my life. I'm so incredibly grateful that that situation happened, because now I love my life and I'm happy, and I don't look outside of myself for my happiness anymore. I truly, truly find it within, and that was something that I didn't have then. I was always looking outside of myself.
Speaker 1:At the time I didn't realize that was what was going on, but now in hindsight I was like oh yeah, I was very codependent. I expected other people to make me happy. And why do we put that on other people? It's nobody's job. It is nobody else's job to make you happy. And why would you want to put that on them? And do you really want the burden of being responsible for someone else's happiness? No, I don't think so. I mean, maybe you do. I don't think so, though. So that was my big event, that was my big thing. That started a beautiful journey of growth and transformation.
Speaker 1:At first, I don't know I spent some time just getting to know myself. I didn't know who I was and again at the time, I didn't realize that that was what the problem was. But now I look back and I'm like, oh yeah, I didn't know who I was, I didn't know what I liked, I just believed what other people said. If somebody would say, oh, shannon wouldn't do that, I would go oh yeah, you're right. Super quiet, I didn't speak up. The fact that I'm even doing a podcast, the fact that I'm even doing a podcast, is shocking because that's not who I was. If you had asked me 10 years ago, would you be launching a podcast? No, definitely not. So I went through.
Speaker 1:I decided that I wanted to focus on my health and I started health journey and became a health coach and I lost 50 pounds and that was four years ago and it has completely. That part has changed my life too. I actually enjoy walking and exercising. I still don't really like well, actually, I don't really know. I haven't been to a gym. That's something that I'm working on, I guess, or will sometime. I had been to a gym way back before I had lost weight and I had connected with a personal trainer because I was like I'm going to get in shape and I'm going to get healthy and he was so mean and he kind of like I don't want to say traumatized, because that sounds a little bit dramatic but I was like he was mean to me and it didn't feel good and so it's kind of it has made me want to stay away from going to the gym. But I do at-home workouts, I do yoga and I found a love for walking and just eating healthy. I used to believe that healthy food was gross. I don't believe that anymore.
Speaker 1:So that started my health journey and, along with losing the weight, I had no idea the confidence that would come from making those changes and just feeling better in my body. It wasn't just about how I looked, it was about how I felt and just like losing that weight just freed me. It was the craziest thing. And then I got into posting on social media and that's where I found my voice and realized that I had the opportunity to impact people's lives in a really positive way, and I had no idea that I had that gift within me. We all have gifts inside of us and can share them and change people's lives, and you have no idea until you actually do it. I put myself out of my comfort zone all the time and by doing that I'm getting to know who I am inside, not all of the stories and the beliefs that other people have said that I should be. It's who I want to be and who I'm getting to know myself to be.
Speaker 1:When you're growing up, your parents teach you a certain way about something, or you have certain traditions that you do all the time and certain foods that you eat and all of these things that you do, and you just continue to do them into your adult life because that's the way it's always been. That's what you know. But what happens if you step outside of that and try something new? You try a new food. You travel to a new place. You try a new food. You travel to a new place. You go do something that maybe you feel like you've always wanted to try but never have because you've been too afraid. What if you just do it? You just begin and you just take that step, and once you take action, that's where the courage comes, that's when you know you can keep going.
Speaker 1:So, going back to my story, so I became a health coach. I did my health journey and I'm still a health coach and then I got to a point last year, near the end of last year, near the end of last year, where I didn't feel like I was being true to myself. I didn't feel like I was being authentic and there was something else going on within me and I didn't know what it was and I started to kind of slip a little bit into, I don't know, just this really strange space that I was unfamiliar with. And then I decided I was going to do a three-day manifesting challenge. I was like, oh, that'll make me feel better, raise your vibration. Raise your vibration in three days. And it was with Mandy Morris, who is an amazingly beautiful soul. And I also decided to sign up for a life coaching course and I thought to myself I was talking to my sister about it and she's like we'll just do it, cause even if you decide not to be a life coach, then, if anything, maybe it'll help you. I was like, okay, that sounds like a good idea. So I registered for that and then so that started the beginning of January 2023. And at the same time, the razor vibration um three-day challenge was happening too.
Speaker 1:So I did that and, oh my gosh, I did a deep, deep dive into all kinds of stuff, kinds of stuff and I cried and I cried and I cried and wow, it was so powerful and it released so much that I was carrying that I didn't realize was actually weighing me down. I just passed things in my life, forgiving people who had hurt me intentionally or unintentionally, forgiving myself. Oh my gosh, did I cry when it came to me that I was like, oh my gosh, you need to forgive yourself. That was huge. That was huge because I haven't always been proud of the decisions that I've made in my life. I remember having a conversation with my son, who is almost 23 life. I remember having a conversation with my son, who is almost 23 last year where I was talking to him about my choices and the way my life has gone and obviously he's been completely impacted by that. And he said to me I couldn't have asked for a better mom. Talk about crying makes me want to cry right now and because all of the decisions and choices I made obviously impacted him. But our relationship now is so, so amazing and I just adore him. But that was huge for me because I felt like I had been all over the place.
Speaker 1:So I continued on and I got my life coaching certification. So I'm an emotions, mindset and energy practitioner and then I was drawn to energy healing. So then I took another course and, wow, that was also pretty powerful. I love energy. I had no idea how important our energy is. That's not entirely true. I knew I guess that's kind of what had started. I knew that my vibration was low. I knew that my energy was low and I'm a huge believer in the law of attraction and I was like I have to raise my energy. What do I need to do?
Speaker 1:And so I had taken the energy healing course, and that had all kinds of emotions going through me with that too and just learning to feel. Learning to feel and listen to my body. Listen to when something doesn't feel right, when something feels really good. What can I do on a daily basis to be more in tune with myself? I ask myself questions, I follow my intuition. I've been just following all the little steps as they come up of what feels good and what feels right, and literally feeling it within my body, getting to know myself, making myself uncomfortable, putting myself out there, and these are all things that I never would have thought I would have done and I can truly, genuinely say that I'm happy. There are things that I still desire and want in my life, but right now, in this moment, living in this present moment, which is what I make a point to do every day. It's beautiful and I absolutely have things that come up. I am human and things come up, but I feel like I'm better equipped now to be able to handle those things.
Speaker 1:Podcasting, I was drawn into Kathy Heller, who is another beautiful soul, and I ended up. I wanted to make sure that I knew what I was doing, and so I took her course, and one of the things she focuses on is doing it messy, and that's really she's so spot on with that. You just have to start, you just have to begin, you just have to do and you learn. I mean, isn't that why they call them baby steps? I mean, babies don't know how to walk right away. Right, you got to take that step. You got to take that step and figure out what you want in your life.
Speaker 1:Sometimes we feel stuck. A lot of times we feel stuck. I mean, I read to you what came to me. I see that in people all the time, but I also see the highest, most magnificent version of all the people that I interact with and I know in my heart that you have the power within yourself to make changes and live an amazingly beautiful life. You might feel stuck, but what is one thing that you can do today that is within your power to feel better. There might be things going on around you that are out of your control. Feel better. There might be things going on around you that are out of your control. There are constantly things going on in my world that are out of my control. But what I can do is I can choose how I respond, how I react, how I want to feel every day. How do I want to feel every day? I get to choose. I get to choose that, and so do you. So what are some things that you can do? What are some things that you can do each day to fill your cup and to help you feel better?
Speaker 1:I personally have a list. I have my feel-good list. I don't actually have it written down, I have it in my head. I have things that I know that I can do every day. Sometimes it's proactive and other times it's in response to something that comes up that might throw me off. Every single morning, I listen to a guided meditation. When I wake up, then I take a shower and I blast the music and I shake my booty every day while I'm getting ready in the morning and those are things that I do to set myself up to have a great day, to have an amazing day, to have a magical day. And then things come up through the day and so I know I can always go to my music, always go to my music. That always makes me feel better.
Speaker 1:Connecting with people I love connecting with people, connecting with my friends, impacting people's lives, changing their day. The energy that you have when you walk into a room you have when you walk into a room really can change everything. So my intention is to help people realize that they don't have to be stuck anymore, that once you get to know yourself and who you truly are, you're going to show up differently and and that will change everything for you. You get to know yourself, you find out what you love and let go of some of those beliefs about yourself that you might have had. You have the power within you to change your life. Even if it feels like you might not be able to, you really do. You don't have to live in the daily grind. You don't have to just go through the motions every single day. You can choose. You can choose to change your path. The power is all within you. It's interesting.
Speaker 1:I've gone back, actually, and listened to that episode a couple of different times recently and I usually cry when I listen to it, and apparently now, when I'm talking about it, I'm going to cry also, which is fine because I am fully expressed. I cry and I don't care, because when tears come up and feelings come up, I want to move my way through them and it's I still see. I still see you, and that is the absolute reason why this work is so important to me and the more people that I can reach to support and guide and reflect back to you, until you can see it yourself how absolutely magical and magnificent you are. This is why I do what I do. This is why I left my career of 25 years, because that did not fill my soul anymore. This does, and I have personally been able to move through so many shifts and changes over the last couple of years.
Speaker 1:Specifically, this year has been a big one, but what I offer to you and what I teach and coach is learning how to really navigate through life, because we have absolutely no control over things going on outside of us and there is always something going on and change is constant. And I sit here and share with you that it is possible to create a life you actually enjoy and love living, while also navigating through the shit that happens day to day. And it's tuning into yourself and shifting things from the inside out so that when all of that craziness is happening around you, you may occasionally you are going to you know have things come up, but you don't necessarily and you might spiral even I have, I do from time to time and I also don't stay there. I don't allow it to take me down. I don't allow it to take me down.
Speaker 1:And in the ICU episode I reflected on how sometimes something massive does have to happen. Maybe a relationship ends or a job ends, or you move, or multiple relationships end, but something happens to prompt a change. Or other times we get tired of our own bullshit and decide that we want to create a different life for ourselves. So, no matter where you are in that spectrum of life, just know that reconnecting back to you, learning how to express yourself, tapping into and learning how to listen and feel your body, talk to you, and learning to express and not believe everything that you think and pause. Pause before you respond, pause before you take a step. Pause and allow yourself to get uncomfortable with things like all of these.
Speaker 1:Different things are things you can do, and as you start to embody it, it doesn't feel like work because it just becomes part of who you are, and you can change all of that. This is not who I used to be. Anybody that has known me for any length of time knows that I am a different person now than I was, and I did this. I created this change and I had no idea that that was possible. I had no idea, which is why I'm here to share this with you as I continue to grow and evolve. The podcast is going to continue to grow and evolve and as we step into the next 100 episodes, my vision is to keep bringing you more beautiful conversations, reminders and tools that guide you back to yourself so that you can create a life that feels honest, aligned and good from the inside out.
Speaker 1:I've been toying around with different ideas for some things, but right as I was sitting down to record this, I think I'm actually going to take the ICU Now script I guess call it a script, I don't know. Whatever it is that I wrote my piece of writing and create some more miniseries based off of that, because I really enjoy doing the miniseries, and then I'm going to schedule more guests to be on the show. If there's someone that you would like me to have on the show, let me know. I would also invite you to come into the podcast community. I have a private podcast community group on Facebook that I talk about often and I go in there live every week and do a Q&A and have conversations and do coaching with people and it's a lot of fun. That is also a favorite part of mine of even doing the podcast is the relationships I'm developing with people inside of the community there. So I would love for you to join. There's a link in the show description if you'd want to come and hang out with us. I go live every Friday morning Pacific time and it's a lot of fun, and I also offer reflection questions based off of the episodes each week, and I think some things in there are going to shift too, but I'm not quite sure yet what's going to happen, but I just allow myself to be guided by what feels good.
Speaker 1:All right, so we're going to pull a card from the magic of what if? Card deck volume two. The cards are available on my website, pure possibilities, podcastcom, or there's also all kinds of magic of what if? Merch in my store If you want to grab some people.
Speaker 1:A lot of people do holiday shopping already. Some people started a couple months ago. I personally do my holiday shopping in December. I always, have, always, have, probably always will. It's just kind of how I roll and I don't feel like I want to change that because it's fine with me, I enjoy it.
Speaker 1:So, okay, today's card for episode 100. Oh, this is a good one. What if I love knowing I was never meant to be liked by everyone? This message right here. What if I love knowing I was never meant to be liked by everyone? That is a beautiful card and a beautiful message for this episode. It's actually a beautiful message to remember every single day because no matter what you do, what actions you take, the job you have, the relationship you have, every decision that you make in every single day, everyone is not going to like or approve of the way you live your life. So live the life the way. Live your life the way you want to live it, because you will absolutely never receive everyone's approval and everyone will not like you, and that is something that, when you can become comfortable with that, that's a total game changer, because we all have our differences and that's okay. It's what makes us beautiful and unique and different. And also, everyone doesn't have to like you. Everyone doesn't have to love you, it's okay. Your people will find you always, always the people that don't like your path or don't like what you're doing. They're not your people and that's okay. That's okay. I love that reminder. I love that reminder.
Speaker 1:If this podcast has touched you in some way, I would be so incredibly grateful if you would share it. Share it with a friend, a family member, a colleague, anyone who needs to be reminded that they are seen, they are not broken, they don't have to stay stuck and that they can choose to shift anytime, anytime they desire. And if you have any ideas of topics you would like discussed, there is a section down in the show description where you can just text me at the show or you can message me on Instagram or Facebook and you know, just let me know what you'd like me to talk about. I am truly here for your growth and expansion as well as my own, so we are on this journey together. Here's to the next 100 episodes. I see you and I can't wait to keep going with you. Have a beautiful, beautiful day and an amazing week, much love.
