Everyone hates you! Hello and welcome to Everyone Hates You, a podcast with me, Michelle Shaughnessy, where we talk about rejections and failures and just whatever I feel like chatting about that day. Thank you guys so much for joining in on the new format with uh three episodes a week. It is exhausting, but I am loving it so much. Uh listen, we had David Anthony on the pod on Wednesday a couple days ago. He ended on a bit of a banger. We're gonna have him call in and explain why he has a feud with the Natural History Museum in New York City. We are gonna get to that in just a little minute. But before, I wanted to start with some stuff that is in the news today. All right, I want to talk about in the news today. Uh a man from Leeds has been arrested under the Malicious Communications Act. So he took screenshots of his ex-wife, OnlyFans contact, and put it on his Facebook. Called her a dirty, sick pervert. He said he wanted to inform her friends and family what she has been up to. And he was arrested and convicted under the Malicious Communications Act and received a 12-month community order. Now, I have seen comments saying she put it online herself. It was already out there, she put it online herself. This is an interesting argument to me because at first people will go, okay, well, she literally did post it to the internet, and I understand why your mind goes there. But the reality is choosing your audience and having your ex deliberately redistribute something to humiliate you are very two different things, okay? I think, like, look, if I put a bikini photo on Instagram, that doesn't mean that I would be okay if somebody printed it out and handed around at like a family party. And I I get that that is different, it's not as intimate. But I'm willing to bet that this man watches porn. I'm willing to bet that this he did not have to create an OnlyFans account to look at his wife's ex-wife account. So the whole thing, I wanted her family to know that's a giveaway. That's a giveaway that this was done for revenge and not it can't be disguised as anything else. Why would you want her mom to know? She's an adult. You know? If your genuine concern is I disagree with my ex-wife new career choice, bringing her auntie and attaching photos of her vagina aren't gonna help your case, okay? I also want to point out that OnlyFans doesn't cancel consent, okay? I think it's a weird attitude when people think that. Oh, well, she sells sexual content, she can't complain about who sees it. That's almost backwards thinking. If anything, OnlyFans is more powerful for women than other areas of the porn industry because women can control who sees this content and under what circumstances. Paying for and accessing something doesn't transfer ownership of the person in it. CPS guidance now specifically distinguishes online abuse that targets an individual, including non-consensual sharing of intimate images from ordinary offensive internet speech. So buying a ticket to a movie, if you went and saw Wicked, if you bought a ticket to Wicked, that doesn't mean you now own Wicked and can film it and can distribute it. So that's basically what they're saying here is that you can't just go on an OnlyFans page, screenshot it, and distribute it because you could get arrested. You could get in trouble. And I don't think enough people realize that. I think the ex-wife part does make it a little worse because it isn't some random guy just reposting something. Like he knew her. He knew what this would do to her. He knew her family, he knew what they are, he knew what would embarrass her, he knew where to post it and exactly which buttons to push to cause maximum damage to this woman. That's what makes it uniquely terrifying. He has a historic intelligence of this woman, you know? Like your enemy can Google you, but your ex can not only Google you, they can call your mom. And I just think I hope enough people read this story and really think about their actions. And he also said he was embarrassed by her doing OnlyFans. Why are you embarrassed? You're the one who found your ex-wife's adult content. I'm not convinced he didn't find it by being on OnlyFans. He watched enough of it to take screenshots, saved the screenshots, uploaded them to Facebook, showed them to the rest of the family. You are now the distribution department. How embarrassed can you claim to be? If none of these people would have known if you hadn't have shown it to them. And the bigger question is can you shame someone with something they're not ashamed of? I really want to get the conversation going around that. She's selling adult content voluntarily. His apparent weapon was essentially, look, hey, look what she's doing. And her response could and should simply be, yep, babe, link in bio. Because sometimes you have to own it. And as someone who does do OnlyFans, now listen, I I say I do OnlyFans. I do OnlyFans in a very Michelle way of doing OnlyFans. You know, I'm not posting photos of my bits. Um, I've thought about it. I've been offered a lot of money to do it. It's just not where I'm at. I do, I do enjoy the thirst traps, the foot stuff, that kind of stuff. But I definitely like I started on the platform because they started inviting comics to do comedy on the platform for their OF TV, their OnlyFans TV. And when I joined, like I had to post about it online. That's part of it. And people use it as a diss. Like I've had people come into my comment section on Facebook and be like, oh yeah, you've an OnlyFans in your bio. And it's like, yeah, thanks for advertising it. Like I posted, it's not hiding it. Also, I'm an adult. And so is this woman. She's an adult. You know, we should be able to make our own decisions. I just think the failure in this story is the attempted public humiliation. And it ended with him getting the criminal record. That's a pretty big failure. And he's the one that should be humiliated. And I think moving forward, if her name or this story is ever Googled, he's gonna be the one that's the that's humiliated in this scenario. What do you guys think? Does posting something sexual online mean you surrender the right to control where it ends up? I'm I'm I'm not looking to argue. I just seriously want to know what you guys think, men and women. Would we feel differently if she sent the video privately to him? And that's what he posted. Would we be more enraged, less enraged? How do we feel? Why do people become weirdly moralistic about what their ax ex does after a relationship ends? Is it like a moralistic thing or is it a sense of hurt and pain? And at what point uploading your ex-wife's OnlyFans to your Facebook, do you realize you're now just promoting her OnlyFans? Like I really hope a lot of people saw that and was like, oh yeah, I feel bad for you, dude. Click bye, bye, bye, bye, bye, purchase, purchase, purchase. I really hope. Let me know what you guys think about that story. Um, I'm gonna share one more and then we're gonna go. Selena Powell, she was rejected by an entire stadium. An influencer slash only fans creator, Selena Powell, was at the Miami Dolphins versus Atlanta Falcons preseason game on August 28th, just a few days ago at Hard Rock Stadium. So, according to TMZ, Stadium Security had to ask her to take her feet off a wall that was in front of her seat. And her alleged response was shut the fuck up talking to me. Security escalated it. Sheriff's deputy came over and she was escorted from the stadium. She says she was permanently banned from the Hard Rock Stadium, and she says she was told she could appeal, but she does not care to appeal. So this means reportedly, you just can't come to the next match. It it's it's not that serious. She wasn't arrested, it's anything like that. The building just said you can't come back. Say this. This is gonna be a great advertisement for her OnlyFans foot content if she does that. Thank you guys so much for checking in and listening to Everyone Hates You the podcast. Please send me messages, send me DMs, let me know who's listening to this. Is this thing on? I want to know I'm not just sending stuff out into the voice. All right, ladies and gentlemen, I had David Anthony on the podcast on Wednesday, and we ended on a banger. He threatened to burn down a museum and we quickly went off air. And I don't know why. I don't have the answers for your questions. I'm very excited to hear them. Um, and I know uh this might incriminate us even further. But David, thank you for coming back.
SPEAKER_00Hello, it's gonna be disappointing. You're gonna be disappointed.
SPEAKER_01I'm I I have a feeling I'm not the first woman you've said that to.
SPEAKER_00And I've meant it every time. But it it it was a little thing. Okay, so it's the Natural History Museum of New York. Are you aware of the Natural History Museum of New York, I presume?
SPEAKER_01I why no of it. I've never been there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's the one from Night of the Museum.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00I've I've been there before. It's a good museum. I'm not saying it's not a good museum, right? But it costs like like $30 to get in. It might even be $35, maybe it's like $25, but it's a lot of money to get in. And I'm spoiled because I I live in London where all the museums are free except for like a few. So in my head, museums are free. And I get really like I don't I don't understand why I have to pay so much to get in, right? But but it used to be that you would go up there and then you would just have you could pay what you want, but you had to look them in the eyes and tell them how much you were paying. And it was like a test. And and I failed it previously, but I was I was and that was that was like in 2018.
SPEAKER_01What do you mean you failed it? Like they were like, what do you want to pay?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I bottled it and I did the full amount. Because they were looking at me and I I freaked out, but it was less then, and it's way more now. Anyway, so this this was a this was a couple of years ago, and I was in New York visiting friends, and there's a couple of people that I was with that were already in the museum, and I had arrived late because I was sorting out something beforehand. So I said to them, We'll meet you there, and then we're gonna go out and do whatever we're planning to do for the rest of the day. So I'm not even really going, I've seen the museum. I'm not going in again, but I'm going in again just to just to meet people in there. So I get in there, there's this massive queue, and like it takes me ages to get through it. And I queue right to the front and I go up there and they went, Hi there. And I went, I would like to pay five dollars, please, which I think is reasonable. I think a $10 fee is reasonable. I think $5 if you're just going in to meet people there is totally fine. And I was at that point, I'm a I'm a I'm a grown man, you know, I'm not a kid anymore. I wasn't scared of asking for that. So I said, I will pay five dollars. And they said, no, you have to pay the full price. And I went, no, it's pay what you want as long as you have the balls to say it. And then they said, We've changed the rules now. It's only pay what you want if you live in the state of New York. And I just lost my shit. I was like, You've just made me cue. But it was like a 20, I lied, I said it was 40 minutes. It was a 20-minute cue, 20-minute cue, nothing on the line that says you have to do that. And then I I accused them of of of of racism, basically.
SPEAKER_01Um against the British.
SPEAKER_00Anyone that's not from New York, I was like, why is it making any difference if I'm if I'm from New York? Why does that make any difference? I'm being punished because I'm not from here. That's crazy. Am I crazy? That's a bad rule, right?
SPEAKER_01I mean, I don't know if it's a bad rule. I don't think it's as it's a uh a rule that's specific to that museum because there are there are other places where you like if you like sometimes when I go purchase tickets for tickets for things, it says if you can prove you live in this town, the tickets are cheaper. I don't know why that is. Maybe it's to try to like I saw that in the UK recently because I remember being like, oh, I'm not local. Um, it was a festival, I think.
SPEAKER_00I disagree with it. I don't think that was right. Okay. I had a friend of mine, I was showing him a VA recently. He's been he was staying with me. If I'd got there and they said, Oh, it's free for me, but it's not free for him, I would be ashamed.
SPEAKER_01Fair. Okay. I would okay. So what you're saying is you're a very, very kind and welcoming person. And so that's why you got so angry because you were like, Hey, I would be kind and welcoming to you in my country. Why aren't you being kind and welcoming to me?
SPEAKER_00Well, it wasn't just that there would be real dicks about it as well. Like they had an attitude.
SPEAKER_01You know, I'm gonna circle back to when I asked you if you were rich, and I'm gonna say maybe they got that vibe from you, and they were like, Why is this British guy with money trying not to pay?
SPEAKER_00Maybe, but then I don't dress like I've got money.
SPEAKER_01No, you don't, and you just have that 30 quid watch. I do. You do sound like you've money. And I think sometimes in North America, when we hear a British accent, that's not like you know, a Cockney type accent. We just assume that they're rich because that's what we had in TV shows and movies, where the rich guy was like the British accent.
SPEAKER_00I get that. I get that. But then no, I don't know. It was just it was just a genuine attitude, like it was just a look on their face, and uh and they even switched to a different person. Like when I said, Oh, I want to pay five, and then they went, Oh, it's it's that new up, and I went, Whoa, whoa, whoa, what? And then the guy that was on the front desk just immediately noped out and got a more senior person in to tell me off.
SPEAKER_01So how did you leave it? You did not go in?
SPEAKER_00Oh no, no, I didn't, no. I think I said something along the lines of I'm not paying 30 quid to your stuffed fucking animals, and then I stormed off. Because that's what it is as well. It's stuffed animals, it is mostly stuffed animals.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, it sounds like you dodged a bullet, but what I want to know is, are you gonna hold this feud for a long time or are you gonna try to change it and write letters to them?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna no, I'm never gonna, I'm never gonna also I I started to storm out and then um I started to go out the front exit exit, and the guy said, like, oh, you can't go that way. And I was like, why the fuck not? And then I walked out and realized because it was like gated off.
SPEAKER_01Uh-oh.
SPEAKER_00And then I had to walk back in and walk back around again. He he wasn't to blame. I was just I was really angry.
SPEAKER_01So you were done with that museum. The natural history museum, is that what you said?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01So you were done with the natural history museum. There's no way they can make this up to you.
SPEAKER_00No, there's no way. There's no way. I think I did say I'm gonna burn it to the fucking ground, but I I think I think I'll rescind that just in case it does burn to the ground.
SPEAKER_01It's probably a good idea. There's not I'm not a lot of chance I'm gonna do that, but no, you're not gonna go all the way back to New York to commit that crime.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, I'm going back in November. I'm not saying if it actually happens to burn down.
SPEAKER_01It wasn't you. You heard it here. It was not David Anthony, it was not me. Do you have any parting words for the Natural History Museum that you I will tag them in this? Do you want me to tag them in this? Uh sure. Any any words that you that you want to leave them with?
SPEAKER_00Uh absolutely I'm not gonna burn you to the ground or do any damage to the building in any way. But if anything did happen, I would be happy.
SPEAKER_01I think that's reasonable. I think you've ended on I think that's reasonable. I think you've ended on a bit of a mature note for a comedian. Um thank you for solving this mystery. I'm sure the viewers have been sitting there, listeners have been sitting there dying to know why you have a feud with the Natural History Museum in New York City. And now we know. David Anthony, thank you again. Uh, I will let you go, but we're gonna have you back in a couple weeks because I feel like you're gonna have another enemy by then.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I've always got more enemies. Okay, well, you know what?
SPEAKER_01Let's have you next uh let's come do one of the shorter episodes next week, and we can have just an episode that's all about enemies.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, that sounds good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right, I'll talk to you soon, and the natural history museum, you are safe. Thanks. Bye. All right, that was David Anthony explaining why he hates the Natural History Museum. Uh, thank you guys for listening in. Um, yeah, we will be back on Monday with another shorter episode, and I have a really fun guest plan for Wednesday. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00And remember, everyone hates you!
