James Phipps | Turning Success into Social Change
In today’s episode of Beyond Four Walls, we’re joined by James Phipps, a businessman, philanthropist, and passionate advocate for domestic abuse charities. James shares his inspiring journey from his humble beginnings in Pinehurst, Swindon, to becoming the Managing Director of Excalibur, winning Wiltshire Business Person of the Year, not once but twice and eventually selling the company in 2018 after a successful management buy-out.
But James is much more than a successful entrepreneur. His real passion lies in making a difference. He co-founded the Younite Foundation in 2016, and today he is deeply involved in a variety of charitable causes, including supporting domestic abuse survivors.
In this episode, we explore:
- James’ early career and rise to success as MD of Excalibur
- His transition from business success to giving back to the community
- The challenges and rewards of working with domestic abuse charities
- How businesses can play a part in supporting those affected by domestic abuse
- The impact of ethical leadership in business
