Remember to Live with Corean Canty
The Time We Think We Have
Sep 16, 2026
Corean Canty
Most of us move through life assuming there will be more time. Time to make the change, have the conversation, take the trip, or finally do the thing we keep pushing to someday.
But lately, getting closer to 50, watching the people I love move into new seasons of life, and saying goodbye to Lucky after 15 years have made me feel time differently.
In this episode, I’m thinking about what makes us finally notice time passing, how easily we can miss the moment we’re in, and the question I can’t stop asking myself: What is this time making me pay attention to?
This conversation is for you if you:
- Keep telling yourself there will be time to do something someday
- Are becoming more aware of how quickly the years are moving
- Have experienced a loss that changed the rhythm of your everyday life
- Find yourself questioning what you’ve done with your time
- Spend too much of the present replaying the past
Key Takeaways
- Why time feels different as I get closer to 50
- What saying goodbye to Lucky made me realize about presence and absence
- How aging, loss, and changing family roles are reshaping my relationship with time
- The irony of wasting the present worrying about time we think we wasted
- The question I’m asking myself about how I want to live now
