The business had been"},{"startTime":212.65,"endTime":216.37,"body":"open for 25 years. For those of"},{"startTime":212.65,"endTime":216.37,"body":"us in income brackets that are"},{"startTime":216.37,"endTime":219.04,"body":"not six figures, noncompetes"},{"startTime":216.37,"endTime":219.04,"body":"allow employers to take"},{"startTime":219.04,"endTime":222.46,"body":"advantage of their workers lack"},{"startTime":219.04,"endTime":222.46,"body":"of options. Also in massage"},{"startTime":222.46,"endTime":226.12,"body":"therapy noncompetes prevent"},{"startTime":222.46,"endTime":226.12,"body":"continuation of care. We all"},{"startTime":226.12,"endTime":229.09,"body":"know how attached clients get to"},{"startTime":226.12,"endTime":229.09,"body":"therapists and when a therapist"},{"startTime":229.09,"endTime":231.79,"body":"is under a non compete, the"},{"startTime":229.09,"endTime":231.79,"body":"client may be unable to follow"},{"startTime":231.79,"endTime":234.79,"body":"their therapist leading to"},{"startTime":231.79,"endTime":234.79,"body":"delays in treatment and possibly"},{"startTime":234.79,"endTime":236.92,"body":"a decrease in treatment"},{"startTime":234.79,"endTime":236.92,"body":"effectiveness due to the"},{"startTime":236.92,"endTime":240.22,"body":"importance of the therapeutic"},{"startTime":236.92,"endTime":240.22,"body":"relationship. The 100% rule"},{"startTime":269.68,"endTime":272.77,"body":"will affect all massage therapy"},{"startTime":269.68,"endTime":272.77,"body":"schools. It means that any"},{"startTime":272.77,"endTime":274.99,"body":"school that accepts title IV"},{"startTime":272.77,"endTime":274.99,"body":"funding, which includes"},{"startTime":274.99,"endTime":277.99,"body":"education grants, cannot have a"},{"startTime":274.99,"endTime":277.99,"body":"program longer than what is"},{"startTime":277.99,"endTime":282.13,"body":"legally required by their state"},{"startTime":277.99,"endTime":282.13,"body":"for licensing. Over half of"},{"startTime":282.13,"endTime":285.85,"body":"states require only 500 hours"},{"startTime":282.13,"endTime":285.85,"body":"for a license and in an"},{"startTime":285.85,"endTime":288.64,"body":"impressive twist, title IV"},{"startTime":285.85,"endTime":288.64,"body":"funding is not available for"},{"startTime":288.64,"endTime":292.09,"body":"programs that are less than 600"},{"startTime":288.64,"endTime":292.09,"body":"hours. Alaska"},{"startTime":442.06,"endTime":444.52,"body":"overturned an executive order"},{"startTime":442.06,"endTime":444.52,"body":"that would have dissolved their"},{"startTime":444.52,"endTime":447.43,"body":"massage board and put massage"},{"startTime":444.52,"endTime":447.43,"body":"therapy under the Department of"},{"startTime":447.43,"endTime":451.09,"body":"Commerce, Community and Economic"},{"startTime":447.43,"endTime":451.09,"body":"Development. Such a change would"},{"startTime":451.09,"endTime":453.76,"body":"indicate that massage therapy in"},{"startTime":451.09,"endTime":453.76,"body":"Alaska is considered a"},{"startTime":453.76,"endTime":456.76,"body":"commercial matter as opposed to"},{"startTime":453.76,"endTime":456.76,"body":"healthcare or service.
