The M.A.K Podcast
This is a continuation of the How R.u.d.e! Podcast. Follow this underground underdog of an artist’s journey to success. Follow the growth, progression, the trails and tribulations of a disenfranchised entertainer alongside with his friends and contemporaries.
The MAK Podcast — Too real for the faint-hearted, too funny for the boring.
Welcome to The MAK Podcast, the audio equivalent of kicking down the door to a late-night hangout where nobody pretends to behave. It’s music, madness, and mouthy opinions — all thrown into one glorious, unfiltered chaos. Expect Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B, and Alternative tracks that slap, paired with conversations that definitely weren’t cleared by any legal department.
We’re talking social and political commentary with a side of sarcasm, sports debates so heated you’ll think someone owes someone money, and life philosophy that might actually fix you… or break you. Either way, you’ll laugh. Probably too hard.
For listeners 21–55 who are tired of polished nonsense, The MAK Podcast is your sanctuary of reckless honesty, questionable wisdom, and jokes that will absolutely get someone in trouble.
It’s wild. It’s messy. It’s for entertainment purposes only — seriously, don’t quote us at work.

Technical Difficulties
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
This one got a little… complicated.
The M.A.K Crew pulled up and took over Saturday Nights Hip Hop Humboldt’s time slot, courtesy of David and the good people at KHHA-LP Arcata 94.7FM — and for a minute, we were COOKING.
Then the studio said, “Nah.”
Mid-show, the whole setup glitched out and we had to reboot EVERYTHING. So if the episode feels a little jumpy in spots, blame the machines — not the vibes. Those who know how we get down will catch right back on, because once everything came back online, so did we.
We pick things back up finishing our thoughts on the Nolan Wells case, before getting into the Lindsay Clancy trial and questioning whether the holdout juror deserves all the attention they’ve been receiving.
Then we switch gears to hip-hop and culture: Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” stance while on Ed Sheeran’s tour, followed by our Top 5 songs with some of the WILDEST bars in hip-hop history.
And because apparently The M.A.K Podcast is physically incapable of staying away from relationship conversations… we veer ALL the way left.
This time, we’re talking about the politics of ending a relationship. When it’s over, what does that actually look like? Who owes who closure? When do you stop fighting for it? Can you really remain friends? And how do two people navigate the transition from “us” back to “me and you”?
Then we close it out the only way we know how:
Would You Rather?
Huge thank you to David from Hip Hop Humboldt and KHHA-LP Arcata 94.7FM for showing The M.A.K Crew love and letting us invade the airwaves.
Technical difficulties and all…

Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. We back. We back. We back. Okay, we back. Oh my lord.
SPEAKER_12Wow.
SPEAKER_11Sorry about that, folks. Man, the scenes like the powers that beat. Did not like, but we was talking. Guess what? Man.
SPEAKER_03Can't shut us down.
SPEAKER_11Can't shut us down. But you know what? And for those who are listening on streaming, hey, we had like a whole thing. Yo, that's that glitch. We was cooking. We was cooking. We're cooking. But right now, um, those who are gonna be listening to this on Spotify and stuff like that, it's gonna miss out that whole first half. Yeah, we talk about delusions and everything.
SPEAKER_08Just so you know, delusion. We'll bring it back.
SPEAKER_11We'll bring it back, man. Like I have my thoughts about what was going on with Yeah, but that is.
SPEAKER_08You know, because of a situation, we might need to start going live on Instagram. But my tune in to the Matt Podcast on Instagram, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, but that is crazy. That's crazy though.
SPEAKER_08Anyway, listen, that whole uh Nolan Wells situation, y'all know it's BS, they know it's BS. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11Everyone knows. Anyone's but like, you know, two brains with two uh fully functional brains.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_11Even half a functional brain could tell that Nolan Wells case was, you know. Man, it's still crazy. It's it's still crazy, man. But rest in peace to that young man though, for real. Like, what's the case?
SPEAKER_08I feel like his legacy is.
SPEAKER_11My condolences with his family as well.
SPEAKER_08Shout out to his mom, like I said, for holding on to that phone.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08That changed the game. Yeah. We always get justice in the end after it's done, though. Isn't that crazy?
SPEAKER_11That is crazy.
SPEAKER_08And we'll move forward. Mm-hmm. Um I think it's a good tie-in to uh don't y'all glitch again.
SPEAKER_11Don't yeah, please don't.
SPEAKER_08Clancy.
SPEAKER_11So I mean, hey man, we we over here covering all the topics. But like, I'm so that was wild. That was wild. I am so mad at the fact that we literally had a smooth 30 minutes of like good in-depth conversation, and now we gotta record. And now we have to record the thing all over again. And hey, man, for the Spotify listeners out there, man, people who are who just clicked on this be like, oh wait, they just jumped in mid-topic. Nah, man.
SPEAKER_08We was in here cooking.
SPEAKER_11We was here in KAA H A L P R K the covering for Hip Hop Humboldt. Man. And we were speaking on the Nolan Wells case and out of nowhere. I can't do that. Coincidentally, our powers got shut off midstream, and now we had to re-record and redo everything. So bear with us.
SPEAKER_08Just know that we had uh our definitions of what does delusional mean to you. Yeah. And pretty much what we what we what we what we came to is if it don't make sense, it don't make dollars, it's delusional.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. And my thing is, man, spend time with me consistently and let's exchange information before you tell me that you love me. Also, there's a difference between love and in love.
SPEAKER_08So we're giving y'all a quick recap because they took us out the game.
SPEAKER_11And don't say that you love me when you really just like me. You can say I like you a lot. Just say I like say you like me a lot. I'll be like, you know what? I like you a lot too.
SPEAKER_08But I do feel that there's people that can come in your life just for a few moments and change everything up. Yeah. It's me. Okay, but see, we did that before when they I said, ha ha ha ha. But then we got Israel came through.
SPEAKER_07Okay. I say no.
SPEAKER_08Y'all Negroes talking too much. So we're doing a real weird recap for real because y'all gonna get a little bit of this work. And shout out to your daughter. Shout out to my daughter. Her birthday, she turned one today. Big Libra gang. Big Libra gang. Okay, more Libras in my life. And my birthday tomorrow. Libra love. Love it. Alright. Alright, with that being said, though, we're gonna hit the Clancy or we're gonna go into the city. We're gonna hit the Clancy, man.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I'm well shoot. What's that can happen is we get Clancy.
SPEAKER_08But what's your what's your thoughts on that? I'm gonna tell you.
SPEAKER_11I mean, okay, so the the the the case itself, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08But for those who don't know, right?
SPEAKER_11For those who don't know, Lindsay Clancy was a mother of three who They say she killed her kid. Right.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but she had no proof of it.
SPEAKER_11No proof of it.
SPEAKER_08Um since she said she did it, but she don't remember doing it.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, she uh cited postpartum depression, and that's what I that's why I'm like throwing my hands up and back off because again, as a man, I don't know parts part uh postpartum depression what it feels like. But I do know that billions of women have been through postpartum depression have never murdered their kids, all three of them. But they have thought about it. They have thought about it for sure, but they never acted on it.
SPEAKER_08But also, have you listened to the whole case over that? No because her husband, I feel like something's going on. He wrapped that up too perfectly. With from the meds, um even it's crazy because they usually look at the husband, but they looked at him and he had it so perfectly tied up where it was all on her because of postpartum. And because she was going through that moment of because when after they have a baby, baby brain is real. Yeah. So she like, I don't remember, but maybe I did it. But I feel like as a woman, as a person, if you killed your kid, Charlie, you would remember. Moments even.
SPEAKER_11Moments even, or maybe it was like that traumatic for her that she just chose to block it out. And at first And she don't want to admit that she's a murderer.
SPEAKER_08But guess what? At first I was just like, another uh woman of non-color getting off on something.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, it's another, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08I don't know. I think we gotta look at her husband a little bit more.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I mean the whole case is very, very fishy. The fact it is, there are three innocent babies who are no longer with us. And that's it. And that is the heartbreaking part about this whole thing. But the thing that really got me, got my blood boiling a little bit. Because in that process, in the jury process, there was one juror that was holding out, be like, no, this woman needs to be held accountable for the life. Even if she did do it, did not do it, these babies was underneath in her care, and they're not here anymore. Yeah, but that's one thing, but like, like that's that's that's the fact of the matter is my husband, he was there too, but he wasn't. Okay, both of them should be held accountable. For sure, for sure, for sure, for sure. But like, but like, but unfortunately, only the woman was on trial here. Yeah. That's crazy. The woman was on trial here, and the black jury was like, no, this woman needs to be held accountable for what happened. Yeah. Like, some level of accountability must be held here. I mean, I don't care if it was a husband, it was a wife, it was it was Lindsay, it was both of them. There has to be, like, if your child is have a loss of life and it wasn't some freak accident, it was something that was maliciously, like, maliciously planned within it. But dog, you can't. On a technicality, they don't know. On a technicality, okay, cool. But babies are still not here.
SPEAKER_08And that's why I feel like the mother and the father, honestly, I should be held to prosecute both of them.
SPEAKER_11Both of them should be held accountable for this.
SPEAKER_08Because where was you when you seen she won't pay? You can you can tell us how she had postpartum and she was she was uh if you went to the store. So that day, why did you leave your kids with her?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, so yeah, if you're going to the store, at least take one or two of them.
SPEAKER_08If you can tell me about it, you clearly seen what she was going through. Yeah. Come on, man. Both of y'all guilty. Get out of my family.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, no, no, no. I agree with you. Because as a father myself, I see like, you know what I mean? There the moms is going through it. Hey, let me take it, let me take the baby for a couple hours. You know what?
SPEAKER_08Let me take the baby. Would it be so crazy? Let me take him. It's a lot of men, and I know this for a fact. Like, my sister, you know, she she went through it with her dude, her baby daddy, her recent baby daddy she only got two. Um, he didn't believe postpartum was a real thing. Oh, that's right. But you know what blew my mind? This is the same person who didn't believe postpartum was a real thing. But my sister can work. And he can stay at home. But he didn't want that. He wanted my sister to stay at home. But my sister, we we like all women know, and if you don't know, I'm finna tell you. No matter what, I don't care if you got the best man in the world. You better always have a little money for yourself, because you just never know. Okay? My sister's instacart and all that. This mug heard the baby crying for hours. Not one time. What did he think? Or say, let me go grab that baby. Because the baby has to stop crying with her. Let me go get my daughter.
SPEAKER_09Let me go get my baby.
SPEAKER_08And then say a postpartum ain't real.
SPEAKER_09Let me go get my baby.
SPEAKER_08You know how crazy it is for a woman to be hands-on. Not only does my sister, and this is a lot of women, I just use her example, have a newborn, but then you got two other kids in the house. Yeah. You gotta take care of them. Yeah. Make sure they go to school, get home, pick 'em up, feed them, hear about their day. You got a newborn, crying, knee milk, wash clothes, cook dinner, wash babies, make sure your man's taken care of. Come on, man. At what point of time do she have any time for herself?
SPEAKER_11Exactly.
SPEAKER_08And a lot of fellas act like they don't get it or they don't see it or they don't want to.
SPEAKER_11That's what I'm saying. Like when it comes, when you say postpartum, that's where I back off of my opinion. But like I just I just look at the facts that there are just three babies or not on this earth.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, and they come out your penis hole. Right. I'm serious. That shit that stuff makes a difference in here.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, but it's just like, but like, you know me, but here's the thing that we're going off, or like what I'm upset about is the juror trying to hold this woman accountable and him getting flame broad and blasted all over the internet. Oh, he he hasn't paid his rent. Oh, he got a couple of charges.
SPEAKER_10What does that have anything to do with anything? Well, that's because they wanted her to get off, though. You know what time it is.
SPEAKER_08It's some cut.
SPEAKER_11But like, nah, like, even I, in my own opinion, bro, like, even though, like, again, I'm backing off when you when you cite postpartum, but like, I'm looking at the fact that three babies are here and the parents are still walking among us. There's something wrong with that picture.
SPEAKER_08Something's wrong with that picture.
SPEAKER_11There is something incredibly wrong with that picture, man. And it's just like, yeah, like the father holds a level of accountability as well. Definitely does. For sure.
SPEAKER_08Definitely does. So how you ain't noticed your three kids went missing. What were you doing? What were you doing? Were you not home? Come on, man. That's what I'm saying. Both of them. Guilty. Yeah. Guilty, guilty, guilty. I gotta run my hair.
SPEAKER_10Shout out to the boondoch.
SPEAKER_08But you know, idiot, yeah, but that that that that's crazy to me. Yeah. That's crazy work to me, man.
SPEAKER_11But yeah, man, like the the case itself, and again, I just I just want the conversation to be on just the level of accountability across the board.
SPEAKER_08Because these kids are gone, and we don't know where they are.
SPEAKER_11And the fact that somebody was trying to hold like impose that level of accountability, but then get scrutinized the way he did, it's nasty work and a society needs to do better.
SPEAKER_08The people of the internet is crazy. Like swing their their votes or judgment towards a juror who was like standing out.
SPEAKER_11He was the only black male on that juror, too.
SPEAKER_08Why why wouldn't you look into it a little deeper? You know what I mean? And I get it, like most of them feel the same way I do. Like, y'all all want her to be so guilty, but nobody looking at the dude. Straight up. Dudes already get off with so much when it comes to women. What is she we probably honestly we never even dug that deep to see? What is she probably restraining orders against against him or tried? The police don't work in a man uh a woman's favor when a man.
SPEAKER_11I agree with you on that.
SPEAKER_08I mean, this is this is factual and actual.
SPEAKER_11They do not help women in need at all.
SPEAKER_08No, you sh they they they near gotta die. Yeah. To get oh, oh, oh, it's real.
SPEAKER_11Oh yeah. Exactly.
SPEAKER_08So, you know, this system is just it's trash anyway. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_11And it's a money grab. Capitalism wins all the time, dog.
SPEAKER_08They better pray we never get the whole court. Or more me.
SPEAKER_11They have set things up for that for that to be dang near an impossibility. It is, I mean Dang near. Not it.
SPEAKER_08Dang near anything we put our mind to. That is the beautiful thing about us melanated ones. And honestly, not just melanated ones, but we have to watch it. Just people with just more righteousness. And that's okay. Our our people, our our allies, they know that. Right? The real ones. You know what I mean? We ain't saying nothing crazy with that. But it's not impossible. It's just we gotta be like impossible. Impossible, yeah, for sure, for sure. Crazy work.
SPEAKER_11But yeah, no, I really wish that, you know, man. We lived in a better place. It's the fact that I have to raise babies in this world. Yeah, man. And the fact that I have to like, you know.
SPEAKER_08I got nieces and nephews.
SPEAKER_11Teach them, like, and I gotta teach them like some very, very nasty things, but it's like in the best interest of protecting their life. Like my goal for my babies and for them to bury me and not the other way around. Well, that's how it's gonna be. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08We put that out there.
SPEAKER_11Like, that's that's that can't be.
SPEAKER_08I want them to be grown adults by the time I'm gone. I want the same thing for you and for me. My niece and nephew, I won't don't.
SPEAKER_11But it's just like what we live in a society and in the country and in the world. That no, that they're it it feels like it's dead set on not making that happen. Oh, it's gonna happen with mine. It's gonna happen with mine, but like now that's how we gotta feel. But systematically speaking, a lot of brothers like me.
SPEAKER_08Cause it's hard to stay out of that system. Exactly. I mean, it could be the smallest things that put you in that system. Once you win it, you win it. You know what I mean? Like, you know what I mean? I think we should go, you know, I think we should switch to a light or yeah, we will, we will, we will.
SPEAKER_11Well, let's get us a music break, you know what I mean, before you know we get into all that because golly. It's a lot. Yo, the computer and everything shut off as soon as we started really cooking.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, we caught we we put a glitch in the making. Big Libra, big harvest moon. Let's go. They don't want us to talk. They really don't want to talk about us to talk.
SPEAKER_11Hey, we're gonna do it anyways. You can't ban this joy. Right. Hey, for the uh for the podcast listeners, man. Hey, we had a very unorthodox start to the podcast, but here it is, man. We're gonna get to a music break. We're gonna get we're gonna be right back again, live from the Playhouse Arts. SPEAKER_08Well see what I did was right for like that's why I said, let me let me go first, right? Yeah. So um I'm gonna come in with um Plies. Pli said, she got a butt so big, it looked like a pamper. What? What would make you look at a butt? And think of a pamper? And if it looked like that, why would you put it in a phone? Uh when uh Boosie said gas tank on me. Only wipe me down. He should have said gas cardi down. It's like what? What do you mean gas tank on ER drinks? Can you can't can you afford them drinks? Because it's beside every bar is what? A gas station. Okay. Alright. Mm-hmm. And then my other one that I was like, what, uh, what is it? Uh the pant down Gucci, so ain't got no job, but I stay dry. Uh-huh. Can't pay my money. Yeah, yeah. But that's alright. Cause I it's not alright. Can't pay my bills. Cause all my money spent. But you fly though. But you homeless. And stink. Wearing the same clothes every week. I don't even sing that line no more. I did when I was up because I ain't know no better. Cause I stayed with my mama. Also, because I stayed with my mama.
SPEAKER_11Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_08It made sense. I was a child.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08But as an adult. Alright, that's my that's my top. That's your top. Well. I know you guys have to.
SPEAKER_11I don't have the bars because I can't say the bars online at FCC. But I do have the songs in the top five songs, is this? I'm gonna look it up while you saying it. I'ma go to five with ODB, shimmy shimmy ya. Who baby I like it? Yeah, man. Yeah. If you actually listen to that song, my man's a very out-of-pocket thing.
SPEAKER_08Hey man, his name was O Dirty. Alright. He ain't no daddy.
SPEAKER_11When he's growing up. Number four, I got Tyler the Creator, Troncat. Oh man. If you listen, listen. Troncat? I can't say one bar on that song. Tyler the Creator. Tyler the Creator, Troncat. Okay. I just want to I just want to see.
SPEAKER_02He didn't lie.
SPEAKER_11Is is I'm a walk paradox. Yeah. Oh wow. Yeah. Not even four bars. The whole joint is crazy, right? Is he? Yeah, no. He's he's gotta be atheist. Tyler the creator, Troncat, was crazy work. Oh man, yo, you right. Yeah. I can't say not even. I'm not saying none of that. You can't say a bar. If you want to know what he's talking about, go look. Go look it, Spotify. It's diabolical. It's crazy. It's crazy. We're talking about diabolical, we're gonna keep it going. Big L's, Devil's Son. It was it's filled with like horrorcore punchlines. Like it was just the violence and the shocking. Big devil? Devil's Son. Oh. Big L.
SPEAKER_08Big L, okay.
SPEAKER_11Devil's Son. That has the craziest bars in hip hop I've heard in my life. To the point it was, it made number three on the list. But it's yeah. It's not number two. Go ahead. Yeah, you can't even say anything.
SPEAKER_08I can't, I can't even.
SPEAKER_11Please, if you are listening out there, Google this.
SPEAKER_08And this came out in 1993.
SPEAKER_11He was talking like this. That's wild work. Crazy work. But this, but it ain't number two. That's for sure. Number two. DMX X is coming. Okay, alright.
SPEAKER_08That little is my joint. But he was talking crazy.
SPEAKER_11He was talking crazy in that one. But it wasn't number one. Ladies and gentlemen, the number one song that has the craziest bars I ever heard in hip hop, MM Kill You.
SPEAKER_08Yes. That was on my list, too.
SPEAKER_10What? What? What was my man's on? We should have locked him up. He should be locked up for that. Off of that.
SPEAKER_08Off of a lot of his joints.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, those are my five right there.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11Those are very five craziest bars in hip-hop. Go listen. Go look. We can't play it on FCC Airways.
SPEAKER_08No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_11We can't even quote it on FCC Airways. Nah. But yo, look up those songs, man. They're very crazy. And will make you think, yo, this dude really just said that? Did he really just say that? What what? He really just said that. What? You know. Wow. Before we get into uh He No, he said it, the engineer listened to it over a dozen times and they released it.
SPEAKER_08So who we blame? Him and the engineer? Everybody in that studio. Everybody. I just wanted a hit. And that wasn't even a good idea. It wasn't even it, but it wasn't.
SPEAKER_10But it's a song that made a song. It made his waves.
SPEAKER_11It made his waves for sure.
SPEAKER_10It made his waves for sure. Alright, let's.
SPEAKER_08So before we move on to like the the the nitty-gritty, I seen, because we got a lot to unpack. We miss a lot of, you know. I seen an interview with uh Lil Wayne, and I love Lil Wayne. You know, his birthday the same day as mine. Hey gang. But that man said, he don't never sleep. He don't nap. He is up all the time. Oh no. That's why he looks like that. He might, I might. That's why the dress is falling out. I just find it hard to believe. Like, bro, just say you you sleep and you don't know you sleep. Yeah. For real, though, because we all got sleep. Eventually the body shut down. Yeah. Like I get being a creative dope. Like, Lou ain't dope. But like, you too old to be lying like that. Yeah, no one believes that. Like now you got a job. No. Let these kids know, like, stay up as long as you can. And if you live in your dream and it's beautiful and it's fun, cool. Cool. We're taking that.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. It's a shut eye. Rest is important.
SPEAKER_08And if you don't sleep, you look like it. And that's not okay. I love you, Wayne.
SPEAKER_10We can do a feature anytime. Anytime, Wayne. Hit her up. But we're taking a nap. At least 15 minutes, dog. 20 minutes is what you do for a power.
SPEAKER_1120 minutes, yep, 20-minute power nap. 20-minute power nap.
SPEAKER_10Oh man. Um that being said, you want to get into it. Let's get into it, man. Alright, go ahead.
SPEAKER_08So the Malcolmore. Malcolmore. He said every time Malcolm. I said Malcolmore. Okay.
SPEAKER_11Malcolmore.
SPEAKER_08I know his name's still weird. Yeah. Y'all know who he's talking about.
SPEAKER_11Double M. Not the Eminem, but the Double M. Um Game. So basically, uh during the show, he pretty much stand for his support for Palestine while, you know, criticizing and condemning the state of Israel, but not, you know, Israelites or people that of a Jewish nature. But uh Robin Kraft and a few of NFL stadium owners colluded to get Malcolmore kicked off the tour via because it was Ed Sheeran. Ed Shearens, right? That's how I say Shearens. It was Ed Sheeran's tour. Malcolm was a good friend of Ed Sheeran's. But due to differences in stances in politics, the uh So that's what I was gonna add.
SPEAKER_08So they kicked Mac Lemore off because he said free Palestinians.
SPEAKER_11Basically saying, hey man, there's there's thousands of innocents and children being bombed by the state of Israel and Palestine.
SPEAKER_08Whoever's sponsoring him, they back in Israel.
SPEAKER_11So basically, uh they they said basically the the powers that be, the the stadium owners are telling Ash, like, yo, you cannot perform here while he is on this lineup and he is on the because he said free power. Because he said free powers. So they're free. Because hold up, and what they're saying is it was hate speech, and it was not hate speech.
SPEAKER_08But that's what I'm asking at all. So the Israel, uh the Jews people who I don't okay. Um they they clearly saying for Israel.
SPEAKER_03Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_08That's what I'm gathering from it. And because he used his freedom of speech to say, hey, I know I'm on the tour, I know what y'all stand for, but I'm Mac Lamore and I say free Palestine. Sign. You know what I mean? Now he kicked off. Mm-hmm. Can he sue them? Yeah. For the most part he can. That's so wild to me. I don't because like when when we talked about it and brought it up, I just don't understand. Who cares what side anybody on the tour?
SPEAKER_11But good news is he's uh now Malcolmore is launching his own tour. Oh nice. Called the Free Palestine Tour.
SPEAKER_08Ah That's how you take it around with it, boy. Cause I don't understand them kicking him off of that. Uh I mean again. I mean, I get that you don't want the political debate happening, but y'all are literally in that side of the world where it's still a thing. So, like, the like he should have been on what free we say about Israel?
SPEAKER_11Or, but you know that okay, here's what here's what it was said, I believe. Hold on, give me one second.
SPEAKER_12Criticism of apartheid being against genocide.
SPEAKER_11One second, ladies and gentlemen.
SPEAKER_08Okay, this is an actual fo uh okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_12To all of my Jewish brothers and sisters. Criticism of Israel, criticism of apartheid being against genocide in no way. It is a criticism of you. My message is for peace, love for all human beings to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality. So I say freeze. I say free Lebanon, I say free Cuba, I say free California, free to be free, people of an America living in fear over this terrorist organization.
SPEAKER_08And that's we got a kickball.
SPEAKER_11None of us will be free until we are all free. So basically, that is what what the uh the the powers that be, Robert Kraft, uh the Patriots owner and the Gillette Stadium owners are condemning as hate speech. That right there was considered hate speech. See, that's delusional. That's delusional.
SPEAKER_08Because what is hateful about that? And also, who cares what he's saying? He's an artist. Right. That's his job to stand on something and say it. You want the tour to go crazy. Okay, and Sharon could come up afterwards and say, uh, let's get it Israel. If that's the case.
SPEAKER_11Oh, I stand with Israel.
SPEAKER_08Okay. Okay. So to kick him off is wild for that. Yeah. And say this hate speech, well, yeah. That's his alright. Right. That that and itself has its own problems. But it's a hard R and ends with a capital D. Cause you tried it.
SPEAKER_11Oh, yeah. But um, so but since then, a lot of artists has left Ed Sher uh Ed Sherry's tour. Yeah, seeing that he lost a lot of followers. Yeah, he lost a lot of followers, lost a lot of people because of the fact that he was like, Well, you we don't want to perform there. If I'm an artist, or I got stadium owners saying, hey, you can't have the show here, fine. We will find other venues, we will split the show up, break it down so we can fit multiple venues around the city that we're in, anyways. Right. You know what I mean? There was no backbone from Ed. And that's the criticism on Ed. He had no backbone on it. He didn't support his friend for decades. But there's no friends in the industry. Kanye told us this.
SPEAKER_08That's a terrible joke. Go ahead. No backbone. You know he part of the um and maybe, just maybe that night, he got that thing blown out. So he ain't had nothing to say.
SPEAKER_10All right, man. Alright, anyway. Anyway, more important.
SPEAKER_11We can't edit that out there.
SPEAKER_07Nah, I didn't say nothing wrong. I didn't say nothing wrong.
SPEAKER_08Honestly though, I don't know, man. I just feel like them subjects, like, when it comes to music, freedom of speech is freedom of speech. Um, it doesn't matter who's saying where as long as they're not promoting violence.
SPEAKER_11Free speech is only free to people who are in power and that's okay with the stuff. It's not free to nobody because no, it's no such thing as free speech to me. Like, right. But it's definitely an amendment. Because it's like, again, like, if all I gotta say is I stand with Palestinians. And now I'm kicked off. And but like, but like, you know what I'm saying? Or I'm in the side of the oppressed rather than the side of the oppressor. Come on, man. And I get shadow banned, I get, I get kicked out, I get gate kept out of opportunities. Why do we have the first amendment? Again, why why is the first amendment the thing? Well, yeah. At this point, what is the amendment? Just because you have freedom of speech doesn't mean you have freedom of consequences.
SPEAKER_08Okay. So it's just like that's the double whammy. That's the loophole. You can say what you want.
SPEAKER_11But you're not free.
SPEAKER_08But you're not free. The consequences that follow with that. It's so real, bro.
SPEAKER_11It's true. So I think right now it's not it's not an infringement on free speech. Yeah, sure. You can say whatever you want to say, but hey, just because I did not like what you said, and I got more money than you cannot have, or and I got more money than you, you cannot have these opportunities. That's wow. And hey, and in the same breath, this is America. They have the right to do that. It's their stadium, they own it. Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_11But like, but like history will keep note of what happened and what occurred. And people, the higher powers that be are not thinking about the historical impact. They are putting out. They don't care. They just want to run it. They don't care. They don't care. They're not thinking about the historical remifications.
SPEAKER_08They just want to run it.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Well, you know, whatever. Shout out to Max Lamore and Shout out to Mackel Moore. Eddie Sharon.
SPEAKER_11Ed Sharon, man. Hey, yo, man.
SPEAKER_08Figure it out.
SPEAKER_11I hope he does, dog.
SPEAKER_08Because you're a big enough artist where you can put your foot down, son. Definitely. He is, though.
SPEAKER_11Definitely.
SPEAKER_08He is on across the board.
SPEAKER_11Hey, hey, I know who he is.
SPEAKER_08He done crossed all lines.
SPEAKER_11I know who he is.
SPEAKER_10He was on Game of Thrones. Alright. Come on, man. Not just anybody get on Game of Thrones, man. You better put your Timberland boots on and put your big foot down. Yeah, man. Ed, Ed, man.
SPEAKER_11Ed little better. I get it, man. Industry politics, industry politics. You don't want to lose it. Is it worth it, man? But it is, man. Hey.
SPEAKER_08I mean, in this economy, I'm not mad at him for holding on to his check.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08His bills probably is the whole check.
SPEAKER_11In this economy right now, man, I'm making some more compromises.
SPEAKER_08I mean, gas is regular. Yeah, it's six dollars. Almost seven dollars. Come on, man. On the East Coast, it's five.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_08That's regular. For what? What are who are we fighting?
SPEAKER_10What is this war? Duh, we're fighting to get Donald Trump richer. He's fighting us at this point.
SPEAKER_11And he didn't even give us a stimulant. Do you understand how rich this man got in since taking over the office?
SPEAKER_08You understand?
SPEAKER_11My man's up billions.
SPEAKER_08And this is what's sad. By running the greatest con in history. And the rest of the world, down. Even the rich feel some type of way. Hey. How you gonna feel the type of way about a con artist? Hey man, how you gonna feel the type of way about somebody appointed?
SPEAKER_11And a convicted felon. What do you think was going to happen?
SPEAKER_08I tell you what though, I hope, I pray. Ooh, Lord, that uh when when the elections come, that you you people come out and actually vote.
SPEAKER_11Hey yo, miss me with that election stuff. I don't care who's in office next. The damage is done. Bro, anyway.
SPEAKER_08The damage is incapably done. You say you don't care, but then because you don't care, and Trump decides he wants to run again, your don't care gonna be the reason why he win. Because you gotta care. No, you gotta care. You gotta vote.
SPEAKER_11You don't gotta care. You gotta care. Voting to vote. But voting, hey, hey, if voting really mattered, they would not let us do it.
SPEAKER_08Man, but it's not just that level.
SPEAKER_11If voting really mattered, they would not let us do it, Swag. It's from the root of to the tutor. Yeah, but I'm trying to tell you. But if they if it was important, if we really meant something, they wouldn't let us do it. That's what I'm trying to tell you. This is a dog and pony show. Alright. And it's just and we here we are fighting a monster self. Oh, you voted for Trump. Oh, you voted for Kamala. Oh, you boo-dao-da. They put these divisive narratives in our media and in our screens and stuff like that. I'm trying to tell you, man, it doesn't mean anything. But I'm gonna still do it. But I know it doesn't mean anything.
SPEAKER_08Cool. But Hitler said the next uh world war will happen once people know the power that they have. We have the power to hold the government accountable. We don't. But yes, we do. No, we don't. But my look. If we held our government accountable, but we gotta be ready for the hunger games. Why do you think they say stay ready? If you stay ready, you gotta get ready. Stay dangerous. People got underground homes. People locking up, locking and loading on weapons. We have the power, but we don't know what that looks like. And it's scary to think of what we have to go through. And trust each other.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08No matter the color. And that's scary.
SPEAKER_11Because you know they're gonna be some double agents. Spooky powers. Some secret undercovers. Every resistance, every every uh resistance, every movement that was against oppression has always been torn down from the inside because they somehow found a way to weasel into these organizations and influence it either via sex or money. Man, that's right. So it's just like but we gotta take note about what we've been through already, what we're gonna do what we could do better, improve going forward. Yeah, what we've got to do. But it's just like what does a revolution actually look like? Because a lot of people, especially myself, we be like, oh, we should revolt, we should revolt. But what does the revolution actually look like?
SPEAKER_08I got a real answer to that. First of all, before you ask that question. You should actually hold yourself accountable to that question and get on the front lines and see what it looked like to protest. To uh well, no, no, no, no. I say you not, but to go against the KKK in places below the Bible belt, right? I've been there, it's scary. Yeah. But you do it and you win, believe it or not. Yeah. That's why Because you're on the right side of history.
SPEAKER_11That's why.
SPEAKER_08But you gotta push against it, and though you might go to jail, you might get beat up, you might not make it home. And if you do, they gonna be on you. But it's worth it. Because you make it a difference. But see, the thing is, it's scary because you also will lose. You don't win, like, because you showed up and you and you and you protested and you went against it and you was on the front lines, you win by doing that. But you literally lose because you're gonna get tased, maze, you're gonna go to jail, you're gonna get beat up. Hopefully you don't disappear. You feel me?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_08And if you do, enough people knew you was out there to keep your name alive.
SPEAKER_11And that's what's scary about going against the powers of the And that you gotta die to see some results.
SPEAKER_08You gotta die to live.
SPEAKER_11You gotta die to live.
SPEAKER_08You gotta die for your name and legacy and what you still force to live. That is crazy.
SPEAKER_11That is crazy, man.
SPEAKER_08I gotta die. And then me dying, the story. The only thing that matters about me dying is that the story continues on. Mm-hmm. Man, listen, I'd rather just stay alive and wrap. I'll be a vampire.
unknownShit, man.
SPEAKER_11I don't wanna die. All I know is, man, I'm just black and nearby, and I just want to see the world to be a better place. I mean, I think we on the way.
SPEAKER_10So it could be safe for me to be black and nearby. Oh man, that's it. It ain't safe, it ain't safe.
SPEAKER_11It ain't safe, it ain't safe. Alright, man, let's line this thing up. Let's line this thing up. We got like about 20 minutes left in this pace, 2025.
SPEAKER_08Okay, one thing. On the last part of music. Okay. Your friends aren't your fans. Whoa, talk about it. Talk about it. I seen uh Vic Mensa and um Duran Bernard said it. And and what Duran said it. And it's real. Your friends aren't your fans. You lucky if your friends are your fans. Or in my case, your fans turn to your friends. But typically, that's not your demographic. They support you. They'll say, yeah, man, you got it. But they're not trying to pay for no show. No. They're not trying to. I mean, very rarely are they your street team. Just for free. Just because. Your friends aren't your fans. So I think a lot of artists need to realize that. So they stop being so butthurt.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I know. Like me, me and myself, and like my journey, and in our journey as well, like, you know, we we did we do a lot of shows, we did a lot of shows out here and stuff like that. And we and one of the big things that kind of like, you know, put not a crew to the to the side and put put it to the rest was the the rest of the group was kind of feeling discouraged that they wasn't getting the amount of local love that they thought they should get. Especially not a clue, and especially uh Jeren, and especially and L and like they all felt like if we were going to do something, we first gotta make an impact out here locally. And I was the only one in that group be like, no, we have to take this, we cannot depend on our friends to to share our music, to like our friends.
SPEAKER_08Y'all uh a lot of y'all were from here or lived here long enough to where a lot of these people were friends, you know.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and then just like, but like, and then but like I kind of like, you know, saw the force in the treats. Well, yo, these people are gonna like, you know, clap in our faces, say, oh my god, you guys are so amazing to our faces, but like when it comes to actual tangible failing. Showing up pain and doing it. Showing up pain, sharing stuff, you know what I mean? Like, really like the not a c'est not a crude brand out there or the rude brand out there, they're not gonna do that. Yeah. You know what I mean? And it's just like don't expect your friends, don't expect your family. Expect your friends or your family to doubt you, if anything. Because that's that's real too.
SPEAKER_08Hey, you know what? You lucky if they just acknowledge that you do it.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08For the most part. Stop going to your your friends. Like, you can tell them, like, I just dropped a new song. And if they want to hear it, they'll ask. But if you go to a stranger on the street or someone I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_11I would not even tell my friends because I'm not telling.
SPEAKER_08Um, so they know. Like, I brought it to a lady today uh out in Eureka with the culture uh commons festival. Shout out to them for doing that. It's the first one. I think it's gonna get bigger and better, but I bought it to a woman today and she's like, I fell in love with you at your Christmas show. There you go. Right? Performing. But see, I'm not from here. Right. She's not my friend. She's a fan. Right. How many friends I got that's gonna say that? Not a lot. Like back home in this case, like like I came out from South Carolina from Virginia, Maryland, but I came out here from South Carolina. My friends, they they know they they support me on the music, they they rock with it. They probably couldn't tell you one song. And if they do, they got that one song.
SPEAKER_11You might get one from your friends.
SPEAKER_08So I think it's important that we remember that our friends are not our fans, so don't worry about them. Your friends are meant to be just your friends. Thank God you got them. Friends.
SPEAKER_11And sometimes, man, when your friends are really your associates, name your own demographic.
SPEAKER_08If you stop worrying about your friends being your fans, then you're actually not going to be able to do it. You focus on your fellows.
SPEAKER_11Nah, bro, you bitter. I'm not bitter. You are a little bitter. I'm not bitter either.
SPEAKER_08You lost friends, though. I seen your post where you said, and you know, you said a word with that, bruh. To uh, it's one thing to lose a friend and to death, but it's another thing to lose your friend while they're still alive.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, to life.
SPEAKER_08Man.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_08That was a word, and I understood where you're coming from. And that's why I I I'm pointing that out. Like, it's okay to be a little hurt. I think if you're gonna be bitter.
SPEAKER_11But let's see, I'm not bitter, though.
SPEAKER_08No, but bitter sweet, right? It to be bitter is to see, like, dang, that that's not okay. Depending on why you lost a friend that's still alive. Especially if it's not okay and then your situation where you come from, it it's crazy. It shouldn't have been like that, right? It shouldn't have been like that at all. But the sweetness of it is that you can acknowledge it and pass the word on like you did. It's one thing to lose somebody to death, you have no control.
SPEAKER_09Yeah. You can't make it nothing you can do about that.
SPEAKER_08But reminisce and and hold on to what it was. But to lose somebody while they're alive, yeah, man.
SPEAKER_11That's a different kind of thing. And it and it's the fact that they made a choice to do that.
SPEAKER_08And you have to make a choice to be okay with it. Yeah. Even though you're not.
SPEAKER_11Even though you're not. So, yeah, man. Yeah. Alright, man, let's line this thing up, man. Let's let's close it out on the street.
SPEAKER_08Alright, we're gonna close out on some fun stuff, right? What's some questions you used to do?
SPEAKER_11Oh, the what you rather do. What matters? Come on. No, no, let's let's go to our end of a relationship politics and see where you're going now with the biggest thing. Let's get that, let's get on that real quick. Because you're right. Let's do that. Real quick.
SPEAKER_08We learned how to start a relationship, be in a relationship. But no one has ever brought down the end of a relationship politics. Like, what is the basics?
SPEAKER_11So what does a so what so what steps do you think is appropriate towards the end of a not even a relationship, but even if you're even we even if you were dating somebody or were pursuing somebody or you liked somebody, things didn't really work out. I'm all about it. Like, how do you approach like because you know, me personally, like, I'm not counting for there to be an end date, but like in the back of my mind, I'm like, It's gonna end at some point. At some point in time, it will end. I don't know if it's gonna be two months from now, two years from now, ten years from now, twenty years from now, but it's gonna be a day. And when that day is approaching, it's not here yet, but it is approaching. I feel it's prudent to at least have an honest conversation. And just to see where, hey, here's where I'm seeing things right now, especially like in a like ending of a relationship. And you're like, and you're seeing this person, you're with this person, you'd be like, you know what? I do love this person. I I know I like this person. I might even love this person for real. But I do not see a future with this person. And that's real. Like you can like somebody, you can love somebody, but you can also not see a future with that person in the capacity of this is my life partner. Exactly.
SPEAKER_08You can see where y'all where the things that don't work for you. Yeah, don't matter, they could be the greatest partner ever. Cook, clean, mm-hmm, do all the things, yeah. But there's certain things about them that just don't mesh with you. But though it doesn't mesh with what I'm what I you are, what you got going, the way you you set up. Exactly, yeah. So you can't see a lifetime in it. And and yeah, in the relationship. But in the moment, it's beautiful.
SPEAKER_11In the moment, it's great. Like, hey, I want to keep this moment thing going for a long time to get it. See, and that's what happened with my little latest little escapade. Because listen, because I was battling either A, do I serve this person's best interest, or B, do I be selfish and just like keep it here in the moment.
SPEAKER_08And I think when you say serve this person, I think that in the moment, it serves y'all, right? Because you know they want it. But it and it worked for you, but it's not a forever thing. It's not sustainable. It's not a long-term thing. It's not no long sustainable.
SPEAKER_11I don't see it being long-term sustainable because I see it. I see, I see at one point very soon.
SPEAKER_08But it's because of the way y'all don't mesh in certain ways, though. Yeah. Because you like your space. Right. And I I get what you're saying. I think that's like, like, I think like, okay, so we know when you go in after somebody, right? This is what I'm trying to figure out. Um, when you go in after somebody pursuing somebody, you know that, you know, you gotta shoot your shot. You gotta be consistent. When you get them, you gotta keep them, you know what I mean? And then you gotta be willing to take whatever subset it is to keep them. Right? Right. That's the beginning. Once you in it, you know, you gotta continue doing the same things you did to get them. Or, because listen, things change. You can continue doing the same things you did to get them, but then the same way you was up in the beginning, right? Mm-hmm, you might fall down and they still up. Some people will just like the minute they down, they like, oh no, I'm out, cause I can't even match it, right?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_08Me, I don't believe in that, ride or die. Because if I go down, I hope you gonna ride it out until I come back up, because I'm coming back up. I hope you believe in that. And if you go down and I'm up, I'm gonna hold you down until you come back up. I I believe in that, right? But this is the middle. This is like the middle of it. But then once it ends, it's like we know the steps, it's like the foundation to get in, to even keep it.
SPEAKER_11I feel like people in the inner verse. But what are the steps of the interesting thing? They're looking at what they do. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08Well, how do you hold on to a friendship? I feel like generations got away from that. Um I can't be friends with some of my exes. You know what I mean? You can? I have, I am. Um, but also, I understand in the beginning. See, every breakup ain't bad. If it's a bad breakup, you just gotta let that go. You just gotta let it happen, how it's gonna happen. Not for real. You just gotta let it flow, how it's gonna flow. It's bad. It is what it is. Right? It it get bad, hopefully it get good, or it ends to a point where something happened is definite. But a breakup or a relationship ending because you, like you said in your turn, uh in your case, you can see the longevity not working. In my case, you know, the m they they broke up with me. Mm-hmm. I wasn't where they wanted me to be, even though my plan, been my plan didn't change. It just didn't work on their timeline.
SPEAKER_11Exactly. Right, right. Because you know how women are with their timelines.
SPEAKER_08It's not a bad breakup though. When you break up with me. Right. And I'm just trying to keep the peace, because we both in this situation living-wise, where we might as well just write it down in my case, to the least end, and we can because we were friends first, so let's just get to the friendship. Right. But then it's all petty stuff because now that I'm trying to be on a friendship joint, that they want it, or they feel some type of way. Like, what am I fighting for? That's weird. If you broke up with so that's what I'm saying, but these are the insects. Yeah, yeah. Somebody gotta be the bigger person, even if it hurts your feelings, and that's not okay, because why I gotta. Why I gotta be the bigger person? Let you let you pay me. Just so you could be, just so we keep the peace.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_08When you wrong.
SPEAKER_11Well, to me.
SPEAKER_08These are the intercepts we don't know.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, well, like, again, like to me, it's just like again, the ending of a relationship is like, again, like with all that energy when you do, when you put into getting in one, like, you know what I'm saying, like all the vibes are up. You really like this person, that person really likes you. It's also self-driven. Like, you know what I mean? Like everyone is just everyone's just like very, very feeding into their own self-agenda, their own self-motive. Yeah, because you gotta get that. You gotta get that. Because you gotta get that. She wants you, you want to get it. Nobody else get that. You gotta get that. You gotta get it. You gotta get that. So it's very, it's very, so when you get there, you're in it, right? And then like for me, it's like, okay, I'm here again, you gotta put in more work into sustaining it, right? Right, right. But like, you know, again, this is where you and I kind of like, you know, part ways. Me, I know. I'm thinking, like, I'm thinking, like, okay, well, how how does this look like two years from now? How does it look like three years from now, four years from now? I got kids, so how does that look like? How's the the relationship with that gonna look like? I got a kid with special needs, so that's another thing I have to introduce to uh a partner. And there's like not only that, there's not only one, but two baby mothers. So I gotta like consider the the how they're there. Feel like it is so much for for me personally to consider.
SPEAKER_08I agree with that.
SPEAKER_11And it's just like, okay, so can I see this person actually like weathering through this storm and actually like you know what I'm saying? Like, when you like you just say, when you're down, are they gonna hold you down?
SPEAKER_08Are they gonna hold you down? Okay, okay, okay, okay. Cause I see what you're saying, because this is usually where we do part ways, because I feel like while you I I I kudos to you for thinking like that.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_08What I always say, but how do where is this person saying? Where what do they think? Right. Right. And per and again, I guess.
SPEAKER_11But everyone is so everyone's so self-driven, everyone's so self-driven to to to to either like you know, go according to their timeline or to complete their agenda. They will say anything like, oh no, yeah, yeah, I will, I will hold it down, I'll be there, I'll wait around, whoop-doop whoop. But when the rubber meets the road, they they they falter and they roll and they're like, I don't want you waiting on me. Yeah, and again, like me too. Like, again, I'm 37, you know what I mean? And it's just like they fall. But like, and it's it's like this. So in my 37 years, I have grown to know that women really value y'all's time. Crazy because you guys live longer than men do. But you know, gonna keep that another conversation going on.
SPEAKER_08Well, you know.
SPEAKER_11But it's just like, but y'all really value your time. So I'm like, okay, women really value their time. So I gotta make a decision. Because usually I wait a year. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_08And since I be torn in between two, I'm asking Anthony.
SPEAKER_11That's no, no, that's me. I'm like, okay, let me let let's um my whole thing is if I get it to talk to somebody, I'm giving it a year to let it breathe. But if you're gonna start asking questions and start pressing the matter way sooner than that, then I'm like, okay, then I gotta make a decision way sooner than the time allotted.
SPEAKER_08So that's how you carry it with. Like, period, that's how you always have carry with it. Period, yeah. A whole year of you doing all this dope stuff with them dating court and consistency. I get that, but like, how do you because like you said, when they move faster, so how do you size up, because you have to size up getting a relationship and not taking it there because you typically probably lose out on the woman because she, like, I'm not waiting that long.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, true story. So now, so but this recent, like, you know, um, escapade that I've got to.
SPEAKER_08Why did I commit? Huh? No, not just this one, like this one, but in general, not this one.
SPEAKER_11But like, no, because in general, it's like this, man. Like, I feel like.
SPEAKER_08Why did I commit six months?
SPEAKER_11I feel like, no, no, I feel like to me, it's like six months is that's like an easy, that's an easy time frame to get into. You know what I mean? It is. Like, I feel like it's very six months I'll show you all. It doesn't really show you nothing like we have talked about that. Like, yeah, like I could meet you in January, I'm not gonna know everything I need to know about you by June and July.
SPEAKER_08But committing to dating them.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, like in me, I'm gonna like it. Are you committed to dating them? Of course. Are you open to dating, period, not just and this way we're having the whole monogamy polygamy conversation? Like this again, if you're not gonna do it.
SPEAKER_08Are you open to committing to the data? Okay, can you hear the question? Can I answer it? I want to know.
SPEAKER_11Can I answer it then? Like, listen. Don't slow walk it. I'm not gonna slow walk the dog, but what I'm trying to say is less, I'm open to exclusively dating somebody. I am open to that for sure. But if the but if she's like, no, let's keep our options open, will we still, you know, build on the other thing. If she said, Yeah, I'm game for that as well.
SPEAKER_08You'll do that. Okay, but she gotta say it.
SPEAKER_11But yeah, yeah, because if I say it, because if I say it, I'm gonna look a certain way.
SPEAKER_08But if she say it's a.
SPEAKER_11But if she says it, I'm already on that, and I'm already on that type of time. No, no, if she says it and I'm already on that type of time, off base, I'm already on that type of time. But if a woman's more of a monogamous nature, then yes, okay, we're exclusive. I'm exclusively dating you because I'm I do like you, and I am trying to vibe with you, and I'm gonna see if this monogamous stuff can work long term. Okay. As I say, because I know your nature. Okay. And I'll say, okay, so like, okay, this is a monogamous woman I'm dealing with, and some women are polyamorous.
SPEAKER_08But like if I'm this a monogamous woman.
SPEAKER_11So if I'm dealing with a monogamous woman, okay, okay, cool. My whole brain pattern, my whole the way I go about my decision-making process switches to a monogamous sense. Can I be with this, can I be with this one person for a long term?
SPEAKER_08Commit in that year. You know, you already commit to dating them exclusively. Exclusively. That's that's commitment right there. I know, but but no, no, commitments once you put a title on it.
unknownOh, man.
SPEAKER_08That's commitment, though, but let's come on, let's be 100.
SPEAKER_10I'm not doing that.
SPEAKER_08Come on, man. And that's where uh not doing that. That is that is. I think exclusively day to get to commit. If you're gonna marry, then you can't.
SPEAKER_07Oh, you think you're gonna be able to do that? We're gonna get rid of the boyfriend.
SPEAKER_11We're gonna slap the label after you. We're gonna take the experience after a year. If it's a year, if you cannot if you cannot rock with me for 365, you will commit to like. Yeah, if it's 365 and we still rockin'. I'm your boyfriend. If it's 365 and we still rocking, I'm your boyfriend. I'm your dude, I'm your man. This is us closed off relationship, blam, blam, blam, blah, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_08That's what I was asking.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, like I have no problem with that, but like now I'm just like, okay.
SPEAKER_08I do agree with, um, like I said, I said before, I do feel like you should, if it's someone you dating, all right, you should date them for a whole year before you get in a relationship because you need to see all sides of all seasons of it.
SPEAKER_11All seasons of it. All seasons of it, man.
SPEAKER_08Angry, mad, up, down, because within them seasons, you see all sides.
SPEAKER_11You see all sides.
SPEAKER_08And if you want to still be with that person, amen. But that's just not how it typically works.
SPEAKER_11That's not how it typically works, and I gotta adjust to that reality. I'm like, okay, well, dang, I don't have the luxury of a year. I gotta be single. I gotta make, yeah, I can either A, be single, or the next time I go through this process, get quicker. Like, all right, six months and six months, I gotta make up my mind in six months now. Not even. That's crazy though.
SPEAKER_08Like, that's crazy to me.
SPEAKER_11That's crazy. That's crazy pressure to put on somebody. I don't even know you, you don't even know me, but yeah, we we're gonna jump into something. I feel like that's the next thing you know, like ugly. I feel like relationships should happen organically.
SPEAKER_08Me too. But back in the day, bro, I might show my age a little bit. And you not too far behind me though, so you're gonna film me. We had these babies? I know that. So you're gonna feel me on this. Like, you remember when when when we was in school, we been, you had a crush, you pursued, and y'all hang y'all hung out together, played basketball, wrestled, hung with the boy, you know, make music, rap, whatever.
SPEAKER_11Do whatever.
SPEAKER_08Go to the mall, just cute.
SPEAKER_11We can hang out freshman year. Every day though. Everyday freshman year. Maybe the summer hit sweet. Yeah, we had we hang out a little bit. But I don't think summer.
SPEAKER_08Even when you did say or ask, it was cute. It was a letter. Or is somebody trying to holler at me, you be like, nah, you can't, you know you can't talk to them because I thought you was my girlfriend or boyfriend, right? Yeah. Seriously though, I think we need to bring back the innocence of it. Making it so hard is like that's the problem. Ain't nobody the hard decisions to come when you say, we getting married. Because honestly, that's when it gets hard. You signing your rights away to somebody. You giving your last name, taking your last name or taking their. That's when you should have a real conversation. I feel you, bro. Now, like the I'm glad we because we finally got to the end, and y'all should refer back to the Mac podcast so you can see this has been an ongoing conversation with relationships.
SPEAKER_11Check out monogamous Malik, Big Polypapa.
SPEAKER_08Check out chemistry and chemistry, classic. You write though, Big Polypapa though, and Monogamous Malik.
SPEAKER_11That's the one though where we really tapped into them. Those are the episodes for sure.
SPEAKER_08Because I feel like the ending of a relationship probably should go back to the beginning.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and again, so while we're like, so while we're going through this process, because we sorry we got sidetracked a little bit.
SPEAKER_08I know, but then we got because we was in our bag.
SPEAKER_11Because while we while we're going through this process, we kind of like, you know what I mean, or I either one side or both sides come to the like the conclusion, like, hey, this ain't really gonna work out the way that we both expected it to be in the beginning. We have to acknowledge, acknowledge what changed. Exactly. Oh we have to acknowledge what changed to talk about what changed, don't be combative about in the conversation about what changed, accept that what changed, and then like and then move forward with grace, be like, hey, listen, especially if it's not a bad breakup. Especially if it especially if the person that you was with wasn't cheating on you, beating on you, calling me out of your name.
SPEAKER_08It just is not it's the not the right talking about you, just
SPEAKER_11If it was just a wrong, if it was like a right person, wrong time type of thing. Or the situation wasn't working out, but you really like the person. That's not a bad breakup. That's not a bad, you know, whoop-de-boop. But it does warrant a conversation, an honest conversation. And to and to move forward with disgrace. Like, hey, yo, I know that we're not going to have what we once had, but we can have a version that is very, very acceptable to us both moving forward.
SPEAKER_08We can still have fun. We can still laugh. If we used to joke and watch TV and have movies and inside jokes, we can still do that. We can still do that. I understand now we gotta create boundaries. Yeah. Right? But the friendship, if that's something we had, the good parts of the breakout, especially if it's not bad, we gotta hold on to that. Because if we don't, then we have nothing and it might as well just dissipate. We might as well just dissolve it. Yeah. Seriously though, right then and there, if you can't get to that. Man, that's real. We're gonna keep working on the battery.
SPEAKER_11Man, just date with maturity. I feel like people need a date with maturity.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but you know, that's easier said than done. You know what I mean? Like, I mean, my feelings even get hurt up with stupid stuff sometimes. I'm mature.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, me too. Me too. Like, what something that I'm trying to say. Something that hurts my feeling is y'all moving on so quick. Oh my God. Slow down. Sit your little hot tail down somewhere. This is why you're in the pro That's why you you're in the in the situation that you're in. Cause your hot tail don't sit down and take a breather.
SPEAKER_08First of all, when you said hot tail, it reminded me of my grandma. On her birthday, I was with her. And uh they put on the juke joints, right? And my grandma said closure is. Right? I'm like, I'm grown. And she was telling her homegirl shit the song that was on, she was like, this was the driest song ever to do anything to. And I was like, well, why didn't you just change the oh right, right? Because back in them days they couldn't they couldn't change the song today. You know what?
SPEAKER_11While we on this relationship thing, man, I got some Woodie Rathers. Alright, well, I got some Woodie Rathers. That's kind of that's kind of fire. It's kind of fire. Will she? Don't make me mad.
SPEAKER_08Don't make me mad. All right. He's gonna make me mad with one of these. I can feel it in my chest.
SPEAKER_11Would you rather find out your partner settled for you or remind or that you remind them of their ex?
SPEAKER_08Either way, I'm fighting. Alright, so I'm telling you that now. Before I pick one, either way, you lose. Oh, you tried it. Um, but someone settle for me or remind them of their ex. Yeah. Both of them is is not it. They're not it. Neither one of them is it. Can I as well? Oh my god. You gotta pick one.
SPEAKER_07Um my god!
SPEAKER_08Um settle, because you I'm I I'm not Usher. You remind me? I'm not. I'm not one of a kind. So I guess you settle just to get unsettled. By your money. Anywho, what would you pick? Because uh-uh, you're not leaving me alone on that one. What would you pick, sir? Message.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, man. That's what I'm saying, man. I'm out this date again. I'm only part of it.
SPEAKER_08Uh-uh, no, no, no, no, sir. All right, um pick. Settle or reminder of X.
SPEAKER_11Hey man, let me remind you of Dude real quick.
SPEAKER_08Oh, no, sir. You see how he just trying to spinaggle his little tiptoe and then.
SPEAKER_11You know what I'm saying? Obviously, that means that's why I'm here. And let me remind you some more while I go.
SPEAKER_10You need to be reminded of the ex Let me just boat it on out of here, too.
SPEAKER_11I remind you of your exhibit. Why don't we do the same thing he did by real card?
SPEAKER_07Oh my God.
SPEAKER_11Don't be telling me that. Don't tell me nothing that much.
SPEAKER_08Move to the next question. Because I tell you we didn't plan this. That boy gets on my nerves. So y'all know we don't plan this. We were opposite on that. We wanna be reminded. Um, bye. Let me remind you some more. I can't. Please. You crazy, man. What's the next question? That's why they hate you. Oh, whatever. Uh they love you, though.
SPEAKER_11They do, though. I ain't gonna hold you. Alright. Um, would you rather have your partner's full phone password or access to their completely honest thoughts about you for 10 minutes?
SPEAKER_08Honestly, I ain't gonna hold you. I already know they password. Um, anybody on we because I'm nosy. Um, so what's your thoughts on filter?
SPEAKER_10Ten minutes. Ten minutes. I want them thoughts. I want them thoughts too. I want them thoughts. Give me all that. You better think right before you think wrong.
SPEAKER_11Shoot. No, they're gonna think all the stuff, man. I'm gonna get it all. I'm gonna get all the dirt. I'm gonna get all the stuff. You be like keeping to you. Because everybody keeps something to themselves about you.
SPEAKER_08Right, the ugly stuff they don't want to say to your facts. Let me get those real quick. Let me see what you're saying. I would do the thoughts, though. I would. Yeah, I would do that too, too. Because honestly, like, you know, I don't care about that phone stuff. I don't care.
SPEAKER_11Alright, let me do a couple more, then we'll get out of here. All right. Would you rather have your significant other's best friend hate you or your best friend hate them?
SPEAKER_08Best friend hate them. Okay, I can control my best friend. Okay. I can tell my best friend, I know you hate them, but shut up when they come around. Okay.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_08What you pick?
SPEAKER_11Um let me get the hater.
SPEAKER_08On the other side? Yeah, I can deal with the hater. Bro, I just think you like fucking. I can deal with the hater. You just like it. I want to smoke constantly. You love all the smoke. Thank you.
SPEAKER_11I want constant smoke, bro. I want constant smoke. All right, last one. Would you rather be respected by everybody but loved by a few or loved by everybody? Oh, we already asked this one. Moving on. Um, because yeah, this is old notes.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I know. I love it though, because it's new for them.
SPEAKER_11It is new for them. Actually, you want to answer it again?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, let's do it.
SPEAKER_11Okay, would you rather be respected by everybody, but loved by a very few, or loved by everybody, but respected by nobody.
SPEAKER_08Okay, what's the first one again?
SPEAKER_10They respect you. Respect, but don't love you. Don't love you, but or love you. Or love you, and they don't respect you.
SPEAKER_08Oh love. I guess, I guess I take honesty, bro. Um, I probably take love over respect, because you ain't got respect, but as long as you love me, you'll figure it out.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_08That's how I feel. Alright, what you pick. I already know you on the opposite. Give me that respect. Respect. I don't love you. You see that, man. They can respect you.
SPEAKER_11Nah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_08But love will keep them from killing you, bro.
SPEAKER_11Nah, man. Love people. Yeah, love will kill you. Respect, bro. Yeah, but respect of respect with tipping that little trigger finger real quick. It will.
SPEAKER_08Okay, I'm switching the game. I agree with him.
SPEAKER_11Exactly. Respect me. Don't love me. Don't kill me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Alright, last one real quick, and then we're going to get out of here. Would you rather find out your closest friend secretly envies you or secretly pities you?
SPEAKER_08Envy. Because if you pity me, I pity the fool.
SPEAKER_09Mr. T.
SPEAKER_08Hey, quick little black history fact though. On September 27th, my birthday. Hey, hey, hey, guy, guy, guy, guy. The first poet and scholar, Gwendolyn Brooks, became the first black person to win a Pulitzer Prize. Poet and scholar Gwendolyn. First black woman to win a poetzer prize, September 27th. Which you know what I mean? Reading is fundamental. So fundamentals with the reading.
