And you would be stuck in hospital for six weeks with this giant"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":128.36,"endTime":135.319,"body":"ear muffin plugs all the way in. And at the end of the six weeks, and you're staying in the hospital"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":135.4,"endTime":139.639,"body":"for six weeks, so it was horrible for a kid to go away from the family and everything. Then they"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":139.639,"endTime":145.8,"body":"would take it off and they'd pull out the what's in the cotton wool in your ear. Yes. So, but if you pay a counsellor what they're worth. Now, the driver's the counsellor. You know, and the other thing that I try and do is I try and I try and form"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2448.84,"endTime":2457.239,"body":"people about, you know, how simple certain things are. For example, if you asked me say, you know,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2457.239,"endTime":2464.599,"body":"and I worked for, you know, the traditional service, say, you know, so Mike, you know, why do people"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2464.599,"endTime":2469.079,"body":"get suicidal while they're killing them? And I'd say, wow, that's a very complex question,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2469.079,"endTime":2474.44,"body":"you see, because there's so many different reasons. It can be this. It can be that. It can be"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2474.44,"endTime":2481.0,"body":"all. And so, you know, we're trying not to talk about this. So, you know, and I don't mean this"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2481.0,"endTime":2487.32,"body":"in a cruel way, but it's like, like they're saying, look, there's a very complex issue. I'm a dumbass, but I had two"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2696.44,"endTime":2706.92,"body":"experts do it. And what we found was, was amazing. It went against the narrative that's always"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2706.92,"endTime":2713.719,"body":"pushed, so the narrative that's always pushed on suicide is, suicide is an impulsive act."},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2714.679,"endTime":2719.4,"body":"It's based around impulsivity, you know, at the last minute. So when the numbers come down,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2719.4,"endTime":2724.039,"body":"they go, wow, you know, the numbers have come down, they're not where they should be. But you can"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2724.039,"endTime":2729.239,"body":"see, you know, we're doing our best and the numbers, you know, and then when they got, wow,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2729.239,"endTime":2733.719,"body":"if someone wants to take their own life, you see this, nothing you can really do about it. So"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2733.719,"endTime":2738.119,"body":"one of the first discoveries we found was over 90 percent of the people, and these people"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2738.119,"endTime":2743.079,"body":"had ended their lives. So these letters that came in, they were actual people who had ended their"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2743.079,"endTime":2750.36,"body":"lives. Over 90 percent of those people had long term issues, even if their deaths came as a"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2750.36,"endTime":2756.119,"body":"surprise to those closest to them. And we're not talking weeks or months. In some cases, we're"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2756.119,"endTime":2761.8,"body":"talking years and decades. There's always this feeling that when you lose someone, you know,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2761.88,"endTime":2766.119,"body":"maybe if I'd loved them more, you know, maybe if I'd done this, maybe I'd done it. Secondly,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2766.119,"endTime":2771.4,"body":"over 90 percent of the people who took knew that they were loved, and they loved back."},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2772.599,"endTime":2779.079,"body":"But that was, you know, for a lot of them, was a burden, you know, it's kind of like, oh my god,"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2779.079,"endTime":2784.92,"body":"you know, I can't keep putting these people through it. And the thing that"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2803.239,"endTime":2811.639,"body":"really, really struck me was number three. And the majority of the cases where people died"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2812.36,"endTime":2817.48,"body":"took their own lives. They didn't want to die. They just wanted their pain to end. And they"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2817.48,"endTime":2822.519,"body":"thought that there was no end in sight. You know, and what happened to that, it was squashed."},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2823.32,"endTime":2828.519,"body":"The whole Ashley Bloomfield refused to read it, said it was dangerous, and he was never going to"},{"speaker":"it is https","startTime":2828.519,"endTime":2836.76,"body":"read that. This is why.
