What kind of stories come to mind when you think of foster care?
Many stories are filled with heartbreak, pain, and sorrow. But what if we could step in and see them turned into stories of hope?
Hope Bridge is on a gospel-led mission to transform the foster care landscape in Ohio. We're here to raise awareness and empower churches and communities to step into action by supporting vulnerable children and families in their local communities.
We’re certainly not the Author of these stories, and it’s true that we can't change the past, but we are called to be key characters in THE story that God has written for His creation.
His is a story of redemption and restoration, a story of HOPE.
In this podcast, we will share how we link arms with churches, county workers, foster families, and those in the community to rewrite the narrative for vulnerable children and families.
We’ll be shining a light on stories of hope, redemption, and transformation and sharing practical ways that you can step in and get involved.
Subscribe now, and together, let's make a difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Welcome to "ReStoried," a podcast by Hope Bridge.

104. From Aging Out to Rising Up: Lyric’s Story
In today’s episode, we sit down with Lyric, a former foster youth whose story is a powerful testimony of resilience, faith, and transformation. Lyric grew up in and out of foster care, navigating kinship placements, residential care, and multiple foster homes after the loss of her mom. Along the way, she experienced the heartbreak of instability, the pain of losing people she loved, including a foster mom she was very close to who became sick, and the fear of abandonment that shaped much of her journey.
Through all of this, Lyric wrestled deeply with her faith. After aging out of foster care at 18, she moved into an apartment through the Bridges program, but found herself lost and scared on her own. Eventually, she got connected to Hope Bridge, who helped her transition into a safer, more stable apartment and began building a supportive relationship with her from there. Her journey hasn’t been easy, marked by self-sabotage and seasons of heartbreaking loss, but it has led her to a place of restoration and purpose.
Today, Lyric is thriving. In just six months, she has been baptized, graduated, moved into a new apartment, got her license and her first car, and started college to pursue a nursing degree—all while working and growing in her faith. Her story reflects the goodness of God and the truth that healing is possible.
At Hope Bridge, we are committed to walking alongside young men and women like Lyric as they transition into adulthood. We’re launching Elev8:28, a new connect group for aged-out youth, and hosting Thanksgiving Together at the Compassion Center this year.
