Deuteronomy 13 and the False Prophet Test

In Deuteronomy 13, Moses warns Israel about being led astray by false prophets and he gives them a way to test whether a prophet is true or false. And many people who believe that Christians are required to keep the Old Testament law will point to this passage in Deuteronomy 13 and say that if Jesus taught against the Torah—for example if He taught that all food was now clean—then He would have been a false prophet according to this test. But is that the case? Let’s check it out.
