Have you ever told yourself, "I'll do it when I'm ready"?
Maybe it's starting the business, applying for the job, setting the boundary, ending the unhealthy relationship, sharing your story, or finally taking the first step toward the life you've been thinking about for years.
But what if "waiting until you're ready" isn't really about being prepared?
What if it's fear wearing the mask of wisdom?
In this episode of Healing After Hours, we're talking about why so many of us keep waiting for confidence before we act, why readiness is often misunderstood, and how fear quietly convinces us to stay exactly where we are.
If you've been putting off something you know you need to do because you're waiting for the perfect moment, this conversation is for you.
Maybe courage doesn't come before the first step.
Maybe it comes because you took it.
Tonight, let's talk about what "ready" really means.

The real reason you're waiting until you're ready. Let's talk about it. Waiting until you're ready is just something to say because it sounds good when you say it or when you tell someone they actually when you be married, when you have babies, when you go to college, when you get another job, or when you're uh level up, or when you're gonna travel. We always say I'm waiting until I'm ready, but that's just a nice little this is called a nice little saying to say because if you're ready, does not have a goal attached to it. If you're ready, does not have a name or names attached to it. If you're ready, does not have a reasoning behind why you're why you're not doing what you don't want to do, then you're just saying something just to have something to say. Now I understand you gotta throw it out for some people, okay. Yeah, some people can be a little much, they can be a little much, but if you yourself don't know what you're waiting or what the ready is, your ready isn't ready. Ready, when will you be ready? Let's use the marriage example because that's a really good one. I'm waiting until I'm ready to be married. Your ready is I'm waiting until I find the right man, I'm waiting until he's six foot six, I'm waiting until he done level up in that job, I'm waiting until he has about let's say about you know, let's say about 300k in the bank. I'm waiting for that, I'm waiting for him to come up to me, and I'm waiting for this. Let's say your job. Well, I'm waiting to until this person leaves because I don't like them. I'm waiting for this. When you're gonna be ready, we when you're gonna be you're waiting until you're ready. What is your ready? So your ready needs to have something attached to it. So if you're waiting, you're ready is um, I'll be ready when God sends me my husband. Okay, cute. That's nice because you should wait. But are you in that ready, waiting ready season? Are you preparing yourself to be a wife? Because you know, a lot of times it was nice little cute, little young little boob, boob, boob. We got married, blah blah blah. Okay, you you ain't wait for nothing, right? But now that you're older and you actually do say, I'm waiting until I'm ready, are you getting yourself ready? Okay, ready. So your ready has to have a purpose attached to it instead of just something you tell yourself, I'm waiting for this, and I know when I'm ready, I know when I'm ready. When you're not working towards that ready at all, you're never gonna be ready. God can flat out throw it in your face, put it right in front of you, give you uh a dream, tell send it in a sermon, send it across your social media, and if you're not actually ready, all those times you told yourself that's what you're doing, you're not gonna see it, it's gonna pass right on by you. So I need you. If you're gonna say you're waiting until you're ready, get ready, okay? Get ready because it will come. Whatever you're waiting on, or whatever you actually know that is going to come to pass, whatever you're believing God for, other than marriage, y'all you know just this is good, the good little um explanation, uh, whatever you're trusting God for, that thing that you're waiting until you're ready. I'm here to tell you make sure you're gonna be ready when it comes. When it comes, then all right, believe and trust in it. I'm not telling you to doubt nothing because we know God can do all things, but make sure in your ready, getting ready phase that you're listening to what God is telling you to do. You are reading your word, studying your word, reading your scriptures, you're praying. So when the moment comes, you're not you're not blind about what you want it. You actually see what God wants you to see right in front of you. All right. All right, you do it less.
