From John, chapter 14, verse 15, from the New Living Translation.
Speaker 1:Obedience isn't always exciting. Sometimes it looks quiet, it looks ordinary, it's just regular faithfulness. Other times it feels like a sacrifice. But to God, obedience is love in motion. John 14, 15 says If you love me, obey my commandments. Not if you feel like it, not if it makes sense to your plans, just obey.
Speaker 1:Walking in obedience means you follow his lead, even when the road is unfamiliar. It means letting go of what you want so you can step into what he wills. It means saying yes in the dark, because you trust the one that's holding the light. That's holding the light. It won't always be comfortable, it won't always be popular, but it will always be worth it.
Speaker 1:Some of the biggest moves of God in your life will start with one simple act of obedience, one moment where you say yes, lord, even now, even here. So if he's prompting you to act, don't delay. If he's calling to you and telling you to let go, open your hand. If he's whispering to your heart, respond. Today let's pray. Lord, I want to obey you not just when it's easy, but when it's hard. Give me the strength to walk in full surrender. Help me to say yes without hesitation.
