From Deuteronomy chapter 8, verses 17 and 18, from the New Living Translation. He did all this so you would never say to yourself, I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy. Remember the Lord, your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful. You know, when life is going really well, it's easy to think your success is the result of your own efforts. Gratitude keeps you humble. It reminds you that every ability, every opportunity, every resource comes from God. Pride says, I did this on my own. Gratitude says, God, you did this for me. Today, what I want you to do is spend five minutes thanking God for all the abilities and opportunities that He's given you. Tell Him you know none of it would be possible without Him. And mean it. Just mean it. Pray with me. Lord God, help me to stay humble. Help me, Lord, to remember that every blessing comes from you.
