What's up, everybody? This is Sideline Rewind coming to you live from the NFCAO reunion from Miami, Florida. Woo Cha.
SPEAKER_01I'd say sunny Miami, but we have had a little rain. Yes, we have. But you know what? It didn't dampen our spirits at all. Honey, we had to just rearrange some things and just keep going. Yes. Yes, it kind of interfered with our Havana Nights pep rally. Of course, it waits right until the pep rally, which was supposed to be outside, and then the rains and the storms came. So it's the entertainment world and we're all used to it. So we pivot, make changes, make it happen, and we had a ball.
SPEAKER_02Come on now. That was a so much fun. Yes, honey. That was the best pivot. I think I think that was the best pivot of the night of the five days we've been here. Yes, it was great.
SPEAKER_01Yes, I think it really kind of made everyone's energy higher because they were so excited to actually get to do it because we weren't sure what was going to happen when that storm came through.
SPEAKER_02So yeah, so this like give a preface. Like, so well, okay, let's start back from when we got when did it start? What did what start? The reunion started. The reunion started on Thursday.
SPEAKER_01We're a little sleep deprived. We're a little mentally and physically exhausted, but right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but you know, here we are. So okay. I mean, we already saw people in the lobby this morning. Miss Rosie, she's like, I'm done. I said, Girl, I'm right there with you. I I I love you all, but I it's time to go home. It's time to go home. But we had we had so much fun that we just uh now we just can't contain ourselves.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, right. And we're one of the few three that still have our voices after this weekend, and so we're thrilled about that. So how we're filming those podcasts.
SPEAKER_02But so Friday is when it started. So it started Thursday.
SPEAKER_00Remember the cruise?
SPEAKER_02How awesome that was? That was on Friday night.
SPEAKER_00That was so fun, and that was Thursday night, but we don't know what day or what time it is, and we're not even in Las Vegas. So shout out Miami.
SPEAKER_02Come on now. Sorry. So Friday night we had the awesome cruise.
SPEAKER_00Thursday night we had a cruise.
SPEAKER_02Amazing.
SPEAKER_00They had Thursday night was the cruise, and we had an amazing time. We did, they had a DJ, they had uh everybody was dancing and mingling and taking lots of photos and what great photo ops there were. Yeah, you know, they had the bridge lighted up and a beautiful sunset.
SPEAKER_02Yes, absolutely awesome. A really fun time. Yes, we hung out with some great people, and it was just so fun. Took a lot of pictures.
SPEAKER_00Absolutely. You know what was so fun was to get to meet all these ladies and gentlemen in person. Yeah, you know, you kind of see people comment or whatever on our our um Instagram or Facebook, but to get to meet all of you in person was so much fun. And I just I I I I'm not good with names, I'm working on it, but I I know your face. If I see your face, I'm like, oh, come on, you're my girl, come on. And so it was that was really, really fun.
SPEAKER_02Yes, come on now. The Raiderett's Miss Rosie and Lisa. Yes, uh, Miss Mickey Crawford, we met her mother, yes, and then Miss Laverne Brown.
SPEAKER_01Miss Laverne, not Laverne Johnson, Laverne Johnson, and Laverne Brown, and Laverne Brown was here.
SPEAKER_00She was there, yes, honey. It was amazing. It was, and then Friday we we get ready, we everybody gets up, we get ready to practice. We did a little rehearsal on the stage that we were going to use, but then we didn't use it, but it worked out better. Um, and how fun was that? All the anticipation leading up to it. Oh my gosh. It was a lot of fun. It was fun, and getting to see everyone perform, like every single person was bringing it. Yes, let me tell you, y'all all still got it. Still come on now, we got it. Better than ever. Better than ever. Come on now, and you know what else was so fun is all the support everybody was giving one another when they were out performing their routines that they worked on. I mean, it you felt like you were like on the the grand stage of New York City or whatever. Everybody was just giving it their all and being so supportive. So that was so much fun.
SPEAKER_02It was yes, because it we were supposed to be outside and it rained, and so we waited for about maybe two hours, which is fine, and everybody's like, we're still doing these routines. Yes, we're gonna still do them. Yes, and everybody just rallied together and got we did it twice. The tight tennis, everybody did it twice. Did everybody get to do it twice? I uh several of the groups did, I believe. Several of them did.
SPEAKER_01I'm not sure if everyone did or not, but for sure that was amazing.
SPEAKER_02You talk about a pivot, you looked that up in the dictionary, it was that night because we pivoted and everybody just it was amazing.
SPEAKER_00It reminded me of you know that cheerleading movie Bring It? It reminded me of that, except everybody, nobody was like competitive where it was like on the same team. Yeah, it was so far. It was so much.
SPEAKER_01And we got to do something really cool because our sisters, um, the Derek Dahls obviously no longer have a team, and they started with the Houston Oilers before they became the Tennessee Oilers, and then of course the Tennessee Titans. And so we got to do something unique where they came out and performed, we came out, performed, and then we performed together. And so that was really cool. And I think everybody loves seeing that. It was really, really fun. It was it was the energy was electric. Yes, come on, man. And then Saturday, what did we do Saturday? Saturday! We had there were classes in the morning, there were there was a pool party with a DJ. It was really fun, yes. Um, yeah, it was nice and toasty warm, but no rain.
SPEAKER_02No rain, but it was yes, it was Miami warm.
SPEAKER_00Miss Anna really set it all up. Really? Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_02Anna and Lori.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and Miss Lori, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01What a fantastic job. Yes, I mean, yes, they thought of every detail. Yes, they did. Yeah, so well done. They did. And one of the cool things they did is like the DJ, everybody that was involved with the whole weekend happened to be an alumni. And so that really made it very clear. I think so. Yes. Um, and then we had, of course, the gala last night. Um photo ops, yes, and a famer.
SPEAKER_02Fun, fun to see everybody dressed up and everybody was dressed to the heels, yes, just dressed up, got the heels on, everybody looked really nice. Husbands and friends came and everybody they had pictures for all different stations. You can to go and take pictures with everybody. Um, it was great. Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then the current cheerleaders, some of them performed at the Gala last night. So that was really fun to see.
SPEAKER_02Florida International College that performed after that. I think so. They were amazing. They were really good. They did a really nice job.
SPEAKER_00Yes. And then all we forgot all the vendors that were here. Yeah, amazing things that they had to offer.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and we're gonna give them all a special shout out separately on our Instagram social media pages so that we can really honor all the work that they put into it and everything they did to support this event.
SPEAKER_00So we appreciate this.
SPEAKER_02Wait, no, tell us tell us about what we got to look forward to. Okay, so at the gala last night, they made the announcement of where the 2028 um reunion will be. Yes. And ladies, honey, here we go. Oh, come on now. We're going to Vegas. Las Vegas, baby. Come on, we're waking up in Vegas. We're waking up in Vegas. Come on now. Right. We were so excited. It was just, we're gonna put the reaction on our um social media as well. But we're going to Vegas, baby. 2028. We're going to Vegas.
SPEAKER_01And they're doing something really cool this time. We have two years, right, to prepare. So it is an expensive weekend, but luckily it's only once every two years. But they're doing something really cool. They're doing an early bird pricing until August 10th.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_01And they're also breaking it up into four installment payments so that you don't have to come up with the one time, which is huge and helpful. So absolutely. Come on now. We'll have all that information in our box. Come on.
SPEAKER_02Come on now.
SPEAKER_01Vegas, baby.
SPEAKER_02You can't beat that. Uh-huh. You can't beat it. No. Come on now. The reaction was amazing. Like, come on now, Vegas. And it and the anticipation is so high in the room because you're like, where's it going to be? Everybody's guessing. Everybody's going to guess where it is. And when they said Vegas, the room erupted. It sure did.
SPEAKER_00And another fun fact about this time was it was the highest attendance that they've had thus far. And so can't wait to see in two years. Let's jump it way up there, baby. Come on now, everybody.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And so you're going to have a little FOMO if you're watching all the pictures and videos and everything that's happened over the weekends. So you have two years.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_01Don't be left out again.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Come on now. Get your tick, get your get your girls together, get the guys together, and get your team together and say we're going. Right. And get ready.
SPEAKER_01We did have our uh step and repeat banner. We got to get record some rewinds and different things, and a few people didn't have the opportunity to get up there when we were up there. So we still want you to record your favorite rewind and send it to us anytime. We'll be happy to send it. Send it in.
SPEAKER_02Come on now. And just and I want to say too, everybody that came up to us that introduced yourselves and said, Oh my gosh, I listened to the podcast. Or what we appreciate the feedback. And thank you for just acknowledging us and saying you love it or whatever. We really did appreciate that. Thank you.
SPEAKER_00It was we're overwhelmed. We're like, wait, we're we're not, we're nobody. We're just here. And it just made us feel so humbled to know that people are listening to what we're doing and they are getting it that we're trying to bring everybody together in a positive light on uh NFL cheerleading.
SPEAKER_01So as much fun as we had doing the research and putting it all together, and we're still having so much fun doing all this. Everyone else is having just as much fun getting to listen to it and watch and learn about all the different things they weren't aware of in the past.
SPEAKER_02So exciting. Come on now. And then let me just say this we saw Miss Terry Crane Lamb, we saw Angela King, um, again, Mickey Crawford, we saw Chateau Hendricks, we got to take a picture with her, we're gonna post all of that. Miss Charlotte from the Bingles. Yes, we love her. Oh, it was just so great to just see everybody in person. Yes, absolutely. These women are iconic. Yes, they are.
SPEAKER_01Literally, they are. And listen, they don't slow down. I don't care what their age is and how long they've been in the industry, they do not slow down, and it's so fun. Yes, their energy may have um been a little higher than some of the younger generations, to be honest.
SPEAKER_00Come on, yes, honey. They outlet out yeah, yes, they did. Come on now. Yeah, you know what? That's uh funny you say that. That was one of my favorite highlights was seeing people walk by us and go, come on now. Okay, yes, honey. Come on now. Yes, yes, yes, that was fun. And also, too, if you if you have someone that you feel would be a great um recommendation to be on our podcast, or you yourself want to be on our podcast, please message us because we would love to feature all of you and in some way.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely, yeah, absolutely, and uh Foundation Fridays, yes, and we still are doing the Foundation Fridays.
SPEAKER_01We kind of took a little lapse in time with the reunion coming up, and a lot of people had so much to do and they weren't ready to record until after. Yes, so um, every Friday we're having or showcasing an alumni who either started a nonprofit charitable organization or who is heavily involved in one, and we want to hear all about it and support that organization. So we have several lined up, but you know, we can never have too many of those because we're very proud of that. Come on now, yes, honey. And come on now, I know y'all love that saying. Don't forget we do have merch with that on it.
SPEAKER_02So you gotta have your come on now shirt. Come on now, you gotta have one of those, or just a sideline rewind.
SPEAKER_00Come on now, let's get just get one. Yes, and if you took any photos with us or please tag us, please we want to see, we want to repost, we want to share, and we want to be a part of your time just as much as you wanted to get a picture with us. We're like I said, we're just humbled.
SPEAKER_02So very grateful, ladies, and it hasn't been a pleasure, honey. We just we have been going and going and going, and we have been preparing for this since we left Boston. That's so true. Two years ago, and it's finally here, it's it's over, but it's like it's been a ride, but here we are, and it's been such a great, great, great experience. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Come on now, can't wait for Vegas. Vegas, here we come, 2028. Lots of fun things to happen in between those two years just to pump us up, hype us up, and get us ready.
SPEAKER_02Let's go and then let's say the football season is getting ready to start. So this new the new teams that we're trying out um this past spring, they're gonna be on the field in a couple. I think the Hall of Fame game is next weekend. So it's getting ready to get started up in here.
