Did you guys miss us? I know Susan. Susan just saw me in person and had to deal with my childish antics in real life.
Susan:We just had the best time in LA together, and I, yeah, there were antics and there was a whole lot of love and a whole lot of fun, and now we're on separate coasts and back to shenanigans in business. We're back.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Yep. We're back LifeGLOSS. I know you guys have missed us. We've both been getting messages in our feeds and also personal text messages from people being like, what the hell, ladies? Where have you been? So we're back. We're doing it.
Susan:We are back.
Hillary Clark-Mina:doozy, a doozy this year.
Susan:I'll tell you from professional point of view, personal point of view. I don't know who's been more busy, you or me. Um, but it's not a contest. Obviously. We've both been hit with it hard this year and I'm sure many of our listeners have as well. I think, you know, we talked about so much stuff. We were together and we made sort of this, pact that. You know, we're gonna take this to the next level this year. It's time. We've been sharing, we've been caring, we've been building a community slowly and organically. And for those of you that have been with us since the beginning, we are so grateful. Um, and just know that we are committed to this and we're so excited of what's to come, but. I think the bottom line is that we're all dealing with so much right now at this age. So I think our listeners of our age could be empathetic to this. We have children, we have pets, we have spouses, we have aging parents and in-laws and jobs and no jobs. And friends. And friends with ailing parents and friends with children in college, and children still at home and pets. And did I talk about pets? Uh,
Hillary Clark-Mina:Well,
Susan:I mean.
Hillary Clark-Mina:you bring up a, you bring up a really good point'cause at the end of this episode we were gonna tease and tell you what's coming up for the. this is a perfect segue. So we're gonna, yes, we're gonna talk about beauty, but we're also gonna talk about all of the other things, the things that have kept us away. We're not lamenting, we're not moping, we're just kind of creating a space where we can all talk about things. You talked about aging parents, you talked about family and children and pets, and like I've been dealing with. Learning how to be a caretaker over the past couple of years. I haven't mentioned it much here because I didn't wanna whine, I didn't wanna complain. I've had a few meltdowns that I'm not proud of, but being a caretaker is really. Hard, and I've come to terms with it, and I'm not ashamed of the hard days and ashamed of the angry days and the happy days and the emotional rollercoaster that you can be on. So I wanna invite anybody listening that's taking care of aging parents, sick children, ailing spouses. This, let us know in comments if being a caretaker is something that's, it can wear you down sure. And we're gonna talk about that, but we're gonna talk about the fun stuff, biohacking, female entrepreneurship, little tips and tricks. It's gonna be, it's gonna be an awesome season.
Susan:You know. This is the life in the LifeGLOSS part. This is the life in the Gloss. And I think that's why we named it LifeGLOSS, because not just the beauty industry and beauty experts talking to you here, but we're in it. You know, we're over 50, we're proud of it, and we're in the life part of the Gloss. So LifeGLOSS is actually really the perfect name. Um. I think we're gonna talk more about that. We're gonna continue to talk about beauty and talk about everything Beauty,'cause that's our passion. That's what we do. But I think we need to bring some life into this podcast as well. Like it is not just about gloss, it is not just about
Hillary Clark-Mina:Yeah.
Susan:beauty and makeup. I. We can't, we can't gloss over the life. This is real. This is happening. And um, it was good to take a little break and come back with a fresh perspective. So I know on this episode we wanna talk about one product that's getting us through the holiday seasons. That's fun, that's easy, that makes a great gift that you can have for yourself or for others. And we won't talk about that. But, um, we definitely have some life mixed into this gloss for sure. Coming up in 2026.
Hillary Clark-Mina:And you know, and also friendship. That's one of the things. I don't wanna get all teary. There will be tears this season probably. I know, I know, I know. I'm getting
Susan:Here's of joy.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Yes, that too. But I just have to say, you know, at this point in our lives when things can be difficult, challenging, there are changes. Even if nothing outside of you has changed, things inside of us are changing. And it was so wonderful, Susan, to have you hear like. In the flesh and to spend time with a girlfriend who's truly my sister. I've known you longer than I have not known you before. You know, like crazy,
Susan:know, right? We've meet, we've, yeah, that's so true. Math. Math on this early morning, but yes, math,
Hillary Clark-Mina:And it was just wonderful to sit with someone and be with someone that there's nearly a telepathy and it's not too late to form that with new friends. But there's nothing like an old baddy coming to town and a good old fashioned slumber party.
Susan:Oh, and we had so much fun. We were able to pack a lot into two days. It was a short but sweet visit. Um, we got a lot done. We had a lot of fun. Uh, we got into all kinds of shenanigans. We even went to Erwon and had a smoothie because, you know, why not? Um. But you know, we also got to jump on and do a fun training together. That was really fun. I got to be a model. Um, and, you know, things we haven't done together in a long time and just hanging out. So if you're thinking about visiting a friend, please do it. It was so good for us. It was so good for our souls. Um, we had a lot of laughs and just a lot of fun. So it was good.
Hillary Clark-Mina:So
Susan:was.
Hillary Clark-Mina:anyway. So it's holiday season and people feel pressure. I feel like people are partying like crazy. I've been getting a zillion invitations. I have to really kind of pick and choose just because of stuff that's going on in my house and with family members' health. So I have to be really selective about what I expose myself to right now. But people are out and they're doing it and, um. I've got a few little tips and tricks. One thing that is working, so if there's anybody out there that's feeling like, Ugh, what do we even do? I'm overwhelmed by all the beauty that we're being bombarded with all the time by all brands and all the companies. I have just done one little thing that I love and gonna tell you, and I think it might get you through. Susan, what's your one thing?
Susan:My one thing is pretty easy, you know, Hillary and I also ended up, of course, um, on Rodeo Drive at the Sephora there, that was on, was it on Rodeo, the Sephora, or is it Wilshire? What was it on?
Hillary Clark-Mina:It rodeo.
Susan:re Is it Rodeo? Okay.
Hillary Clark-Mina:I
Susan:I think, um, my God,
Hillary Clark-Mina:in Beverly Hills for so long. I didn't even look at streets. I just looked at the landmarks.
Susan:yeah, that's a whole other podcast.
Hillary Clark-Mina:east on this, or go west on that. And I'm like, do I look like a homing pigeon to you? Give me a landmark dude. Right
Susan:Yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:left
Susan:Yeah. Okay. So we're not gonna get into Hillary's driving capabilities. We don't have enough time on this podcast. Just note to self, if you're ever gonna go on a road trip with the LifeGLOSS girls, you want me driving anyway. Um, so that being said. We did. We did. I know. See, we've known each other a long time. Um, we did jump into Sephora because it was Sephora sale and I wanted to show Hillary some things that I was loving. She wanted to show me something she was loving. Um, I did pick up, um, a new Fara Homidi product that I really like, which we can talk about later. The lip pencil. I love it. Um, and she picked up some fun stuff and we boasted damages this for sale, but. It got us thinking and talking a little bit too about the fact that it's not always about what's new. You know Sephora is overwhelming. It is huge. It is all encompassing. It was a lot and it was the sale and it was Beverly Hills and it was packed. It's a beautiful Sephora, by the way. Great staff. Shout out to all of you. You guys are killing it. But if we get overwhelmed going in there, those people that aren't in the industry must be like all systems on overdrive. So we got talking, you know, while we were there and we weren't just talking about, you know, oh, I love this. I love that. But the one place I went, I said, you know Hill? I said, I gotta take you to Westman Atelier. There is a lipstick shade I need you to have. It's so good for you, especially for the holidays. And it got me thinking, do I need anything new? And the answer was no. I don't need anything new. Instead, I just need. My standby, and that is the super loaded tinted highlighter in Peau de Santé. I love this product. It is my one and done, not just for the holidays, but all the time. It's the cream. It is so beautiful. It is absolutely gorgeous. I have it on my cheeks. It's a highlighter and cream blush all in one. Sometimes I toss it on my eyes. Sometimes I'll press a little bit on top of a gloss. I love this product. I have every shade. I think she now makes like, what is it? 1, 2, 3, 4 shades in this five, I can't even remember. I own all of them. Exceptional. It is solid. It is beautiful. I love this product. It's my one and done and it's what I recommend. It's a great gift too for the holidays. Great gift. So I love it.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Um,
Susan:it.
Hillary Clark-Mina:so ironically that's what I'm showing today, uh, because go look in your, be look in your lipstick drawers. Go find a lip color that maybe someone told you was. Out, but that you loved. Whatever lipstick, maybe you can put on a naked face and feel, ta-da darling. It doesn't matter if it's a nude pink, a red, a beige, whatever. It's perfect. So didn't need a new lipstick, but Susan and I were in a store. We were talking to a woman, and Susan looked at her and she's like, that's Westman Atelier. And the woman was like, how do you know? And Susan's like, I know. I mean, trust me together.
Susan:We're deadly.
Hillary Clark-Mina:we'll, we'll know like what fragrance you're wearing, if you're wearing two, how you've combined them. But it's just from being around each other and, and knowing the industry for so long. So, anyway. were gonna do all the big department stores, but we simply ran out of time. We had to go to Chateau. We had dinner reservations, we had dates, we had people to see we'll do that next time. I'm coming to New York in the spring, so stay tuned for that. But
Susan:get ready New York.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Rouge and this has been like my superhero's secret weapon ever since, and I'm gonna tell you why. It doesn't have to be this red. It can be any red. It can be a coral, a pink, something that is a statement lip, a statement lip that you feel comfortable in. Dark glasses it, like I said, it has been. A crazy, crazy month and I've had to put on a lot of like, don't mess with me energy. And this has been great. So, you know, remember in high school when there were those girls that would like take their black, their black honey and go like this, and you were like, oh, come on girl, just put it on. What are you afraid of? So I can do this. That's all I have on right now. Or can go.
Susan:God, I love this color.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Full on and naked Skin and Ghost lashes. I did curl my lashes. So if you're gonna do a nude or a ghost lash, I do still recommend curl your lashes.'cause it'll give you a little, you know, pick me up. then just don't even bother with mascara and. I mean, that's it. If I wanted to, I could do a black in my waterline or a dark brown in my top waterline. Call it a day. I'm done.
Susan:Oh look, I'm gonna put my glasses back on so I can see even better. Um, I, it's so funny. We walked into this store where, of course I had to buy something and, um, I. I looked at, I looked right at that sales girl and I just knew, I just saw that red Gucci Westman. If you ever listen to this podcast, know that I've been a fan since day one of not just your work, but your products. And I'm telling you, you nailed the lipsticks. They are a matte but don't be afraid. They are creamy and delicious and long-wearing, but the pigment load on these is killer heavy luxury packaging. Absolutely rich and delicious. I looked right at that girl and I just said, I knew the color and I knew the product, and she looked at me like I was a ghost. And Hillary starts laughing and we start laughing and we said, we're not freaks. I just, I, I just know. And I was right and I would've bet my last on that it was that shade. I looked at Hillary and, and by the way, this girl was a brunette and Hillary is not. And I looked at Hillary and I said, trust me when I tell you. That color. You have to get that color. And then we ran down to Sephora, down the street from the boutique. And of course, you know, hello highlighters galore and I made her buy that lipstick.
Hillary Clark-Mina:And I love you. Thank you. And it's nice to have someone that you know and love, so well just pick something for you and you're like, I love it. Like we were in the store and I was like, this T-shirt, Susan,
Susan:yeah,
Hillary Clark-Mina:she got
Susan:totally. And I bought it.
Hillary Clark-Mina:we're done. Um, I have
Susan:a good friend.
Hillary Clark-Mina:complaints. It's a good sign, right? I've had no complaints anyone in my life, like. About this color. Like I haven't had my husband or any other boy or anybody be like, why are you wearing red lipstick all the time now? Like, why are you wearing red lipstick to the grocery store? Why are you wearing red lipstick during the day? Mind you, my husband is, you know. Not a cretin or a beast, but he will be like, oh, are you coming at me with those bright red lips? Because he'll,
Susan:Yeah. Guys don't love red.
Hillary Clark-Mina:on all the time.
Susan:Right?
Hillary Clark-Mina:there's like no problem with this. I don't know if he's red blind. I have to this particular shade, no problem.
Susan:It's so beautiful.
Hillary Clark-Mina:in the undertone,
Susan:It does.
Hillary Clark-Mina:works for me.
Susan:yeah, it's a.
Hillary Clark-Mina:strawberry blonde under here.
Susan:Yeah, it's a warmer red, but not super warm red. I would, it's not orange. It's a real classic red. It's beautiful. She makes a couple of reds that are absolutely gorgeous, and I can imagine she spent a lot of time on them because
Hillary Clark-Mina:Oh
Susan:she nailed the undertone. She nailed the overtone and the casting on it. Um, it's beautiful. It's beautiful. So Westman Atelier is really where we're at.
Hillary Clark-Mina:It's so good. It's so good. And for people that are, get nervous about like drawing in the lines you saw, I just finger patted it on earlier. That's totally fine. You can blo put it on blotted off or I also, you know, the, our good old nineties trick of using a nude pencil, um,
Susan:Yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:is the Neen in Spring the
Susan:Mm-hmm.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Once this sets, it won't budge so you can
Susan:Oh, nice.
Hillary Clark-Mina:how dark this is. So this is another thing we didn't get to look at when we were together. We needed so many more days.
Susan:We needed so many more and we'll have so many more days, you know, um, together. But it was a quick reentry back into our lives. IRL, as the kids say, um. It was great. You know, it's just, I think, think of that this holiday. You know, think about the friends that you have and the little things you can do for each other. And it could be something as simple as a, you know, tinted highlighter, blush combo, toss in their stocking. Comes in a cute little pouch. Great little gift. For under a hundred dollars, I wanna say it's like 75, I think.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Oh,
Susan:last for. Last forever. Okay. Or it could be as simple as getting a friend a lipstick in a shade that you think would look beautiful on them. What a gift, right?
Hillary Clark-Mina:Speaking
Susan:great.
Hillary Clark-Mina:has your box arrived with a hot minute makeup yet?
Susan:my God, I forgot the box arrived. We have to, you know what? Let's save that for a separate podcast, but we're gonna talk about this. Hillary sent me a box. Yes, she sent me a beautiful box of product because that's what we do for each other from a new company. She's working with Haute Minute Makeup, which is great for gals on the go of all ages. I'm loving it. She sent a beautiful pouch, one for me, one for my daughter in college who will love to take it in her backpack with her, and also a whole bunch of young blood products, which you should really, we should talk about another time as well.
Hillary Clark-Mina:the
Susan:Um, really, really loving everything that you sent.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Minis, but that
Susan:cool stuff.
Hillary Clark-Mina:to the Brim Luxury formulas, vitamin C, arnica, ceramides in the concealers,
Susan:yep.
Hillary Clark-Mina:die for eye. Anyway, we'll do that next time
Susan:We'll do that next time.
Hillary Clark-Mina:yeah, they're gonna be giving some holiday prices, so I don't want you guys to miss out just because I'm
Susan:Yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:them right now, just in a collaborative. of a way, like I'm coming in at the tail end just to talk about it.'cause I actually love it and I think it's genius. So,
Susan:It's really cute.
Hillary Clark-Mina:it to you,
Susan:Loved it. Made her give me one for me and one for my daughter because it's nice. It, it's just, it's, it's quick and easy on the go. Great. Stalkings. Tougher. But I think, you know, as we, as we go into this holiday season, get with your friends. That's the life part of Life. Gloss. See your girlfriends, support your friends. It's everything and the gloss part. Pick up something really fun and really cute that to toss in their stalking, and again, looking at your friends and saying, I was thinking of you and this color would look beautiful on you. I just think it's a great compliment, even if you're not a makeup artist or a beauty junkie, to look at a girlfriend and say, I really think this would be beautiful on you, is such a great gift because you know, it's a way of saying, I love you.
Hillary Clark-Mina:yeah, it's a way to say I love you, and especially because so many times and so many times we get stuck in feeling like we have to compete. You and I growing up in the generation that we grew up in. We don't have that as much. Um, maybe because I didn't have kids, I didn't get stuck in the mean mom world, so I didn't have as much of that. But you know, you find your tribe that isn't competitive. And that's one of the most wonderful things about I think our friendship and the friendship we have with all of our mutual friends too, is we'll just stop and be like, know, Hey Sharon, Maria, so and so guess this is gonna be beautiful on you. I thought of you. I saw this. You're gonna love this. And that's. is a beautiful way to say, I love you. You're right.
Susan:Yeah, I think it really is, and
Hillary Clark-Mina:has
Susan:you know,
Hillary Clark-Mina:that. If not,
Susan:yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:things for your girlfriends like that and see what happens.
Susan:Yeah, it's true. It's those little moments that really make it all worth it, so, so we got a lot to talk about in the upcoming season. In the upcoming year. And let us know in the comments if there's a brand you want us to dive into. If there's a subject you want us to talk about, if there's a product question, anything you guys need. You got two beauty broads here. With a combined over 60 years of experience, willing to spill, not sponsored. So we can say whatever the hell we want, when we want, and how we want, what we like, what we don't like, but we always try to come from a place of positivity. We're not down here to tear anybody down. As you guys know, you've known us now for two years. We're not super negative. I could definitely be a little bit more cynical than Hillary, but that's just a coastal thing, you know, east coast, west coast thing. Um, but we def, we definitely, um, know a lot about this stuff. So if you need us, we are here for you. Think of us as the girlfriends that maybe your beauty girlfriends that you don't have in your life just DM us anytime.
Hillary Clark-Mina:Yeah, and also you can go to our socials. We are@LifeGLOSSpodcast and you can post a photo. We wanna see what you guys look like, post a photo,
Susan:Yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:your favorite one thing for the holiday in comments. You can leave comments here below. Um, showed up. We're building a community here. We're, you know, we're. We're going all the way this year and
Susan:Yeah.
Hillary Clark-Mina:know, we haven't, we haven't told anyone about this really, but friends and family. So if you've been watching us for this entire time and you are not friends and family, then you are. hip to beauty because
Susan:Yeah,
Hillary Clark-Mina:done any promo. We literally just took friendship calls on the phone and turned it into a podcast and people have loved it. So I know there
Susan:yeah,
Hillary Clark-Mina:because we have a lot of you that we don't know that we're getting to know, but we wanna get to know you better. So pop down a picture, follow us on socials, and we'll be
Susan:Please.
Hillary Clark-Mina:week for
Susan:Yes, we will. We promise for our anniversary episode, two years together. Yay. Yay. For LifeGLOSS. Spread the word everybody. Yay for LifeGLOSS. Alright, well
Hillary Clark-Mina:stay glossy.
Susan:stay glossy.
