Day 8: Easter Sunday: Celebrating the Resurrection
Day 8: Easter Sunday: Celebrating the Resurrection
with Dr. Jeff Warren and Dr. Rolando D. Aguirre
Psalm 16; Matthew 28
On this joyous Easter Sunday, we're reminded of the incredible power of the resurrection. The empty tomb isn't just a historical event – it's a living reality that transforms our lives today. We're called to 'come and see' the miracle of Christ's victory over death, and then 'go and tell' others about this good news. The resurrection isn't the end of the story; it's the beginning of our mission. We're empowered by the same force that raised Jesus from the dead, giving us courage to face trials and strength to persevere. As we behold the risen Christ, we're changed from fearful followers to bold witnesses, ready to proclaim His love to the ends of the earth. This Easter, let's embrace our identity as resurrection people - no longer bound by fear or shame, but filled with unshakeable hope and joy.
Reflection:
- In what ways might we be 'tending a grave' in our lives instead of living in the power of the resurrection?
- How does the resurrection power at work in our lives give us courage to face trials and persevere through difficulties?
- How can we live as 'resurrection people' who are bold, joyful, and filled with faith in our everyday lives?
Made For More
I know who I am
‘Cause I know who You are
The cross of salvation
Was only the start
Now I am chosen
Free and forgiven
I have a future
And it’s worth the living
‘Cause I wasn’t made
To be tending a grave
I was called by name
Born and raised
Back to life again
I was made for more
So why would I make
A bed in my shame
When a fountain of grace
Is running my way
I know I am Yours
And I was made for more
I know who I am
‘Cause I know who You are
The cross of salvation
Was only the start
Now I am chosen
Free and forgiven
I have a future
And it’s worth the living
Hallelujah
You called out my name
So I’ll sing out Your praise
Hallelujah
You buried my past
And I’m not going back
