In this episode, we ask a sobering question: Is it possible to cut a deal with the devil—or have we forgotten what was already finished at the cross?
Jesus’ declaration, “It is finished,” was not a moment of defeat, but a statement of complete victory. The Old Testament types and prophecies were fulfilled and sealed. The sacrifice for sin was fully accomplished. Using the marketplace term tetelestai, Christ declared that the debt was paid in full—nothing more owed, nothing left undone.
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus triumphed over His enemies, conquering sin, death, hell, and the grave. This episode examines how easily believers can be tempted to look elsewhere—to political power, religious institutions, government programs, or worldly systems—for solutions that only Christ can provide.
Scripture reminds us there is only one mediator between God and man: Jesus Christ. No pope, government, ideology, or system can offer what Christ has already secured. The Christian life is not lived through negotiation with darkness, but through faith in the finished work of the Son of God.
As Paul testified, “Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God.” This episode calls believers back to that truth—standing firm in victory, resting in grace, and living daily by faith in the One who finished the work.
