Our guest, Bob Dunham, is Founder of the Institute for Generative Leadership and developer of the discipline of Generative Leadership

IGL is an international organization with hubs on 4 Continents.

Bob has led the organization since 1993, teaching intensive multi-year courses on Leadership and Coaching in organizations, as well as consulting with companies around the world.

Bob co-authored The Innovator’s Way: Essential Practices for Successful Innovation (with Peter J. Denning), and most recently "The Power of Owning Up" (with Sameer Dua).

Bob provides a great summary of what is meant by generative leadership, how it begins with a full understanding of action in the world, and how it is a "full body contact sport."  He describes individual and organizational success stories where people discovered blindspots and used them as portals to greater possibilities for themselves and others.

Bob shares a powerful acronym to remember about who we are - SELPH.  We are all Somatic, Emotional, Linguistic, Practicing, Historical beings, and effective leadership and the good life require attending to all these aspects.

Bob explains that in order to have personal and organizational well-being, and enabling others to be healthy, we need healthy conversations, healthy connection, and healthy listening skills.
