And we're live. Hello. Hello. This is Hannah. And Calissa. And Sarah. And again. It's been so many weeks that we- It's been a lot of weeks. Yeah. Well, has it been that many weeks? Uh, end of April. Oh, shit. What is it? It's June, so. It's June 1st. It is June 1st today. Well- Yay. It's fine. Summer. Summer started. Yes. How's that going? Official start of summer. How's the start of summer going? Uh, I worked four days in a row last week, so I don't know. I worked four nights in a row. Wait, when did your kids get out of school? Four nights. Uh, the day before Memorial Day. Friday before Memorial Day. Oh my gosh. Oh, God, I'm so jealous. Yes. We literally had to go a full week after that. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I know. What in the world? I know. Yeah. And there are some schools that are going, like Des Moines schools for sure, that are going until, like, Thursday this week. Oh my gosh. So, long weeks. What in the world? I know. I don't know what the benefit is for that. I think they have to- But when do you guys start? Do you guys start after Labor Day? have a certain amount of days. Uh, no, we don't. I'm not sure. We start before. I'm not sure. Hmm. I just show up and read an email. I think we probably start sim- semi-similar. Nice. Usually it's, like, the third week of August. And you are doing...? Oh, what? I'm busy. No, homeschooling. I've just been busy. Oh yeah, we're gonna homeschool next year. I'll still teach, but we're gonna homeschool next year. Oh, you're gonna te- you're still gonna go to the school? Yeah, they asked me to come back, so I'll go back and I'll teach next year. And they said I could bring the kids with on the day that I teach, so, like, we'll fulfill our, our requirement, which will be great. Oh, that's nice. And I'll make, like, $100. Nice. Yeah. Yay. That's my fun money for- like, two seconds, so. Cool. Yeah. Okay. It'll be fun. So what curriculum are you following? We'll still do CC. Okay. So we do Classical Conversations right now- Okay with, with our, our school that we go to. And then originally it was a homeschool program, and so we'll just follow CC again. And I'm sure that we'll be back at school at some point, but we've just found, like, since Calvin works from home now, we just run on opposite schedules, and so, like, we never see him basically. Like, he has a great schedule, and we never see him 'cause he works in the evenings obviously with the gym. So it's like, well, I've always wanted to homeschool. Yeah. So this is the perfect time. Even if we only do it for a year or two or three or four years, like- Yeah this is great, so. It's just what's working for your fam at the time. Yeah. Yeah, so. And we're really excited. We wanna, like, travel more and see things, and, like, we really hate the, um, like, the, the busywork-ness of- Mm-hmm like, in-school stuff. So there's just too many times where it's like, yeah, we could've done that in three hours at home- Yeah instead of eight. Yeah. So- Yeah. That's what I personally, my take on homeschooling is that if I would feel a lot of pressure to be the only source- Mm-hmm of their education, 'cause I'm kinda stupid. You're so not stupid. But, like, the kids will come home and they'll teach me stuff about, like- Mm-hmm the Revolutionary War and history. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. And it's like, oh my gosh, if I was responsible for teaching you that, I don't know that I... Yeah. But you're a teacher. Well, but it's really nice 'cause there's co-ops these days. Yeah. Like, I don't know how popular that was, like, when we were kids and stuff. Yeah. But there's co-ops, so, like, I don't know. I'm sure there's some local groups you could follow and- Yeah see what everyone else does. Yeah. And they're like, "Oh, we do a co-op," which is nice. Yeah. You know what that is, right? There's Facebook groups online. Yes, but there's just not that in our area. No, I'm sure there's not. Yeah. But there's pl- a lot of Facebook groups. Yeah. Yeah. And, like, if you did join a co-op, you'd have to tr- probably go to, like, Decorah. Yeah. And do that. Yeah. Which, like, isn't terrible. It's only once a week usually for co-ops. Yeah. Um, but- What would you teach? What would your be, what would be your spe- What would be your main subject? Yeah. I'm not that smart at anything. Science? You wouldn't pick science? Or what about, like, what about health? Like nursing. Yeah, I would do health. Yeah. Probably health class. Yeah, a health class. Teach them CPR. Yep. That's good. Teach them anatomy and physiology. I could totally do sex ed. That would be fun. Yeah. It's very- Okay, we'll come to you when it's time for us To talk more in depth about that stuff. It's gotta be very matter-of-factly. I know, yeah. And very... 'Cause my sister taught sex ed for a long time. Really? Yeah. So, oh, health- 'Cause your- Health class in general. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Did she have a- What would you teach? Yeah, what would be your subject? Ooh. You can't say pop culture, 'cause that's not a actual- That, like- Well, I don't know what it is. Like, when you wanna do, like, current events. Oh, sure. Social studies. Oh, yeah. Social studies? Social studies, yeah. Yeah. That'd be cool. Hmm. That'd be really cool. Or, like, it would be, like, a video class. Like, hey, we're gonna be news people. Like, so you have to find a report, do a report on it, and then, you know, present it- Mm-hmm like you're a news reporter. Like a speech class. Oh, yeah. Hmm. Yeah. It'd be like that, right? Hmm. Like research speech. Yes. Yeah. Mm-hmm. That'd be cool. 'Cause I am more of a visual. Mm-hmm. So I don't really c- you know, you can write your report, that's fine, but I want an oral speech. Yeah. Yeah. Nice. That's cool. I think that, that would be mine. Yeah. That's cool. That'd be fun. Yeah. I like it. That'd be really fun. Technology, I feel like, you could do technology maybe too. Hmm. Really? I feel like with phone stuff you're pretty good. With phone, but, like, all this stuff- Like computer stuff like- Yeah that's- Yeah laptops, uh, I don't know anything. Yeah. Yeah. Same. What about you? What would you... Art? Yeah. I would prob- yeah. What about- Or history. Honestly, I love history. Hmm. I love history. It's one of my absolute favorite subjects. I'm surprised you wouldn't do, like, reading. No. Really? No, because, I mean, I love to read, but I wouldn't say that I would teach it. And, like, grammar is part of reading. Grammar's hard. And, like, I'm just, like... My kids learning grammar, I'm like, they learn stuff in second grade, first grade, that we never learned- Yeah all of high school. And so I'm like- Yeah "Hmm, okay." I guess. That's what I mean. That's what I, like, the pressure to, yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. I saw my, I think she's seven, six or seven, niece's, uh, a math homework. Mm-hmm. And I think it's that new math that- The Common Core? Yeah. Mm-hmm. And I was like, oh my God. Like, I really don't understand how they're- Yeah supposed to get this. I don't understand. Yeah. I was kinda freaking out. I'm like, I think I would fail school. Yeah. I don't get it. I understand how it could be easier for someone, but that's not how my brain works. Mm-hmm. Yeah, no. Any summer plans? Yeah. Uh- Ooh, what? What are you doing? We're going to Branson, Missouri. Ooh. In August. For that wedding? And then we're going to Michigan for the wedding. Mich- oh, Michigan. Yes. Oh. Although Craig has not committed to the Michigan trip. What? So- Really? Why? Didn't he RSVP? I haven't RSVP'd yet. What's up? I haven't got the invitation yet. We just got the save the date. Oh, okay. So- Hmm the date is saved in my book. I'm going. You're going either way. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Single trip. Heck yeah. I don't know if I wanna drive eight hours by myself, but. Oh. You could just fly. That's lonely. I haven't done that. I don't think, I don't know if flights are that bad to Michigan. We should look that up before you leave. Well, it's such a small town that I'd have to- You'd have to fly into- Fly, fly over a different airport. Yeah. Yeah. Like into Lansing or something probably. Yeah. Like that's bigger. Yeah. Any family vacations? That would be the Branson would be the family one. Branson. What are you guys gonna do then? You're gonna go to the lake? Like lake vacay? No. We're gonna do all of, like, the entertainment stuff in Branson. Okay. There's a lot of- What? There's the Titanic Museum. Ooh. Oh yeah, I did that. Oh. That was fun. That was fun. You did that? Yes. Oh. Yes, we went to Branson a few years ago. Nice. When Bronnie was a baby. So Gannon was writing, Gannon's very excited about this. Oh, 'cause he likes- He loves the Titanic. Mm-hmm. Have him do the finger thing. He loved the captain. Have him do the finger thing and see how long he can keep his finger in there. What? They have, like, a, a jar of water, and it's, um, the temperature that the ice water was- No like around the Titanic. No. And you have to hold your finger in there and see how long you can hold it in without, like, burning to death. Oh my God. Yeah. You should see how long he can do it. Um, yeah. And then there's, like, a horse stampede show. Cool. Um, that we're gonna go do. Lots of shows. It's kinda like Wisconsin Dells. You know how they have, like- Sure a ton of- Mm-hmm like, family activities. Mm-hmm. It's kind of like that. And then there's a lot of museums. There's a dinosaur museum. Cool. There's, like, a butterfly, what do you call that? Like it's, like, a conservatory- Yes or something, isn't it? Yeah, I know it. Yes. I forget what that's called. When did you go to Branson? Enclosure. Butterfly enclosure. When Bronnie was a baby. Oh, okay. We went with Calvin's sister. Oh, fun. Well, most of his family was there. Yeah. But yeah. It was really fun. Awesome. But, like, lots of kids, kid museums. Yes. Hmm. Yeah. That's really exciting. Super fun. Yeah. So, but it's like- Hope you have fun eight hours away. Yeah, it's a big drive. Ugh. Big drive. And you can't really fly in there either. Ugh. I know. You could go maybe close, but then you'd still have to drive some. Yeah. Ugh. Yeah. Gosh. Yeah. So, yeah, that's fun. And it's a boring drive, if I remember right. Mm-hmm. Nice. Mm-hmm. Like Kansas City's halfway. Yeah. Hmm. Yeah. Boring But it was, it's really fun once you get there. Yeah. There's a lot of traffic, so- Ugh like preplan for that. Yeah. 'Cause it's tourist season. Can you do- Yes traffic pretty well? No. I can't either. Craig does. Nick can too. Oh, okay, good. So I'm like, "I'm not driving." Yeah. Yeah. I just get stupid. Like make dumb decisions. I remember when we were in Minneapolis and you turned down that- Oh my God. She went on a tram. You went on a tram. I was like, "That's totally something I would do." There was no clear signage. No. Unless I'm crazy- To be honest- there was no clear signage no, the roads were very- I was just like- Complicated "I don't even know what, what we're doing right now. I don't know where we are." No, I had held no, nothing against you for that 'cause I'm like, "Wow-" Okay, good "that's something I totally would've done." And that's like the example I think of like when I'm in traffic of like, "That's what I do." Wasn't that our second trip to Minneapolis together? Yeah. Yeah. 'Cause we went to go see Katy Perry. Yeah. Mm-hmm. The first time I got complimented from Calissa on my driving. Oh, yeah. And then the second time- For Nicki Minaj? I think so, yeah. And then the second time I made a big whoopsie. Well, I still think I would trust your driving. The road was empty. Yeah. It was. It was. Like there was no issues. It just was- Yeah not correct. Just not correct. It was not correct. It was very wrong. That's funny. What are you guys doing- It's fine for vacation? Wanna go first? Um, we're, we are gonna go to Northern California in July. Ooh. Yep, uh, Nick's got some fam- or Nick's mom's brother and all her family's there. Mm-hmm. And she hasn't seen them for quite some time, and she really wants to go visit, and Nick's like, "Well, maybe I can make time in my schedule and maybe we can all go." Mm-hmm. 'Cause the boys are a little older. Mm-hmm. So we don't think it would be as stressful, so- Mm-hmm we're gonna try it. I'm excited, but Nick, with Cash when we went to South Carolina and it was so hot- Mm-hmm he's just always gonna freak out about the weather for Cash. But it'll be drier there, right? It won't be so wet. I think so. I don't think there's humidity as bad. South Carolina was so, like the minute you walked outside, you couldn't breathe. Yeah. It was like someone's hot breath just breathing on your face- Yeah the entire time. Yeah. Like I had a hard time breathing, but- Mm-hmm. July, California, I don't know. It'll be hot. Yeah. But I think it's a drier heat there still. We'll see. So. So I'm excited- It'll be good but Nick is just like, "Oh, God." Stressed, yeah. Yeah, why July? I don't know. June is so busy for him, like he's traveling like- Yeah. Yeah so much d- so much this month. Yeah. So if we can get a month ahead of schedule, like, "Nope, I can't do this 'cause I'm off." Yeah. So yeah. So far July in California. He's standing right here. Are you excited about Ju- your July trip? He said no. He said no. Don't tell your mom. I won't tell her if you won't. That's pretty funny. What about you, Sarah? Um, we are-- I sign-- Oh my gosh, I'm so stupid. I got way too trigger happy with like signing the kids up for activities. Mm. So they're going to magic camp. Oh no. And they're going to science camp. Science camp. And they're going to pickleball camp, and they're going to, um, archery camp, and they're going to- Oh my gosh. Gus is gonna do two rounds of swimming lessons. They should go to- So he's got swimming lessons for like two months straight. They should go to camp camp where they learn how to go to camps at camp. Well, I was, I was planning on signing Gus up for like a day camp at a, like a Bible camp, um, but I got scared. What about night camp? No. No overnights. I get scared. Afternoon camp? No. I get scared. Have you done an overnight camp since- How many camps is that? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. Have, have you guys- They're all day camps. Have you ever done that though? No, no, no. I did a 4H camp for a week. Oh, when I was a kid, I did like Riverside Bible Camp, yeah. Oh yeah. When it was like a week long. Bible, Bible camp. I did 4H. It was fun. We stayed at a cabin. Yeah. I get scared. I had roommates. I know, like- People are crazy these days. Our parents- Like I get scared our parents didn't think of, like there was no thought like that in my mind. I know. But we were young. And now it's just like, you don't know. I know. Yeah. People are creepy. It's scary. I know. I'm scared. Yeah. So I, day camp only. Day camps only. Yeah. No overnight stuff yet. There was- Maybe when he's like 15. There was a, God, what is his name? He works with like the r- Dave Ramsey team. It's like Dr.- John Delony Delony. Yes. Oh my goodness. Close though. I, I watch his shorts and stuff all the time. Yeah. 'Cause they're g- it's just like people calling for like marriage advice and stuff. Yeah. And like sometimes the questions are crazy, sometimes they're good questions, whatever. But like I'll see his shorts and I'll listen to them. And one of them was like, uh, the mom and dad were kinda arguing over whether or not to let their kids go to a sleepover. Mm-hmm. Mm. And the, the, it was w- I forget which parent. One of the parents was like hardcore against it, and he's like, "I'm," he's like, "I'm siding with you on this one." And he like had the statistics and it's like- Yes Not good 80% of kids- Yes that are like sexually abused or whatever, it happens at a sleepover- Yeah or at something like that. Yeah. Yep. I was like, "That's insane." Yep. Oof. Yeah. Yeah. We've already decided no sleepovers. Like we're even tentative about like family sleepovers. Yeah. So like they've stayed with my mom obviously. Mm-hmm. But And they did go to cousins camp with his sister But we really trust her, so. There's a big difference between, like, that and, like, my friend from school- Yeah and the parent that you met once at the PTA meeting. Yes. You know what I mean? 'Cause, like, there was that one story, I think you told me about it, where, like, the dad had, the daughter had a sleepover and the dad made them, them all smoothies with, like, sleeping pills in it or whatever. Which is crazy. Oh my God. Like, 12-year-old girls, and it's like, somebody shoot that guy. Yeah. Wow. Oh my gosh. Yeah, no thank you. See, and I've just so, been so blessed. Every sleepover that I've been, nothing's happened. I know. But I feel like I only slept over at, like, maybe two friends' houses. Really? Like, that I was really close to. Mm-hmm. I wasn't like, I'm not gonna sleep over at this random person's house. Like, that's a no. Just never had that thought in my... Mm-mm. But, like, they had older brothers. Mm. Yeah. Uh, sometimes we were unsupervised most of the time. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Like, that's what I'm... Nothing good happened after midnight. No. Oh, that's such a mom thing to say. It's true, though. Like- It's so true like, we were baking- We don't sleep. Yeah. Mm-hmm. We were baking, we took a bunch of random stuff in the cupboards at Ally's house and just, like, dumped it in a thing and, like, mixed it up and, like, we're eating it, and it was- Ew it was so disgusting, and someone ended up throwing up, and, like- Ew we didn't, we're like, "Don't tell your mom. Don't tell your mom." And it's like- You're on the experiment side of- Yes. It was not- That was such a teen girl, like, that was a thing. Yeah. Did you ever do, um- I think 4H put it on. You stay up all night long. Yeah, the lock-in? Lock-in. Yes. Oh my gosh, lock-ins were so fun. Yes. We did one at church, and that was fun. Yeah. Yeah, I did one, and I'm like, "Yeah, I'm gonna stay up all night." I lasted till, like, 2:00 AM. Oh, I did it. But it's just crazy, like, a co-ed- Mm. kids, and nothing happened. You gotta have parent supervision. Speaking of crazy, do you guys remember, 'cause we're all from the same area, do you remember what did they call it when we were, like, in high school? It was, like, called, like, Nightstorm or something. Yes. But it was literally- I always wanted to go marketed as, like- I wanted to go so bad. They would go to, like- Like a club the big concert venue. Yes. And the entire thing was basically, it's a nightclub for 14 to 17-year-olds. I know. Yes. Yes. And I was like- But it's crazy whose idea was this? I never went, but- Oh, I wanted to go so bad I knew people who went, and the stories that they came back with- Exactly were like- They were like- are you sure this is for young teenagers? Literally groping. Yes. They're just groping each other. Drugs. There was, like, foam pits- Alcohol and shit, too. Yep. Like, people having sex in the foam pit. Like, people getting naked. Yes. Like- Mm-hmm. I was like, who is putting this event on- I know for minors to go have a sex orgy nightclub? This is insane. I don't think there was any supervision at all. No, there wasn't. Mm-mm, which is just insane. I've always heard stories- And who would the supervision be? I don't know. A predator, like Well, I'm assuming that they would have hired security. There was a peace officer to su- supervise that, yeah. Yeah. Nope. Bonkers. I forgot about that. I did too. Oh my gosh. We're gonna have to listen to an ad 'cause it's gonna, like, bring me back. Calvin was friends with people who would've gone to that, so I bet he's got some stories. Man, I wish he was here. Yeah. Could ask him about that. I remember I always wanted to go. I'm sure he'd remember. Yes, that's not for you. My mom would've said no. The long saga of my wife thinking she wants to do stuff and me knowing she won't enjoy it- Would hate it and refusing to believe me. I think I would hate it. I would've loved it. Yeah, I've, I, it took me 10 years of explaining to her, "Sweetheart- You do not wanna crowd surf at a concert. Did you hear about that lady that got kicked in the head? Yeah, and died. Yes. Yeah, she was, like, 18. This is what I'm talking about. That's so sad. Yeah. I think she was in the crowd, and she-- the crowd surf person kicked her in the head. Yes. And it just was, like, the perfect spot or angle or whatever- Yeah and she died. Yeah. Oh, it was so sad. What concert? I have no idea, but- I can't remember I just remember hearing about that recent- like, maybe a couple days ago even. Yeah. And it's so sad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I heard about that too. I just remember Katy Perry crowd surfing. You get groped. No, she w- was crowd surfing. She had the dark short hair at the time, and oh my gosh. Yeah, you could see, like, it was just not good. She dated, um... This is- Russell Brand? probably too niche for you guys, but no, way back in the day. Adele Castro's son. You might know. Travis? No. Reliant K, do you know that band? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so she dated, I think it was the frontman for Reliant K, like, way back- She also dated the gym class hero guy when she was, yeah, when she was a, still a Christian singer. Yeah. And I guess she, like, stage dove at, and, like, crowd surfed at one of their gigs that they did, like, way back, and there's video footage of it. Yeah, I- And I saw it recently, and I was like, What, she was, like, literally doing somersaults and, like- Yes yeah, that's the one I'm talking about. Yeah, she was so young. She was so young. Yes. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Yep, yep, yep. Pretty funny. Yeah, it was funny. Pretty funny. Love Reliant K. She's been around. Reliant K. Me too. It's so- Yes one of my favorite bands. Sometimes- Sometimes they tour in California what's their one, what's their one good hit? Or one- They have a million. Every single song- No, but it was always played on the radio every single album. "Be My Escape"? Yes, probably. How's it go? I don't want you to know, do-do-do. Then you'd see my heart in the saddest state it's ever been. This is no way to try and live my life. Stop right there, that's exactly where I lost it. See that line right now, never should've crossed it. Goddammit. It's not ringing a bell. Someone- I don't know what else they've been I've heard of this group. I've heard of them. Yeah, they're, they're, they're really good. So we sang on a recent podcast and someone- Oh, really? someone messaged us and said, well, she was like, "Compliment, I could listen to you, you and Sarah sing all day." Aww. Yay. So there, there's your little taste of Sarah and Kelsey. That one wasn't quite as serious, I feel like, as last time we were singing together. No, no. Gosh. That's- I don't know. We'll have to look it up after this. Good singing, guys. We'll have to look it up after this. Yes. They've got a- Bangers on banger- Yes on bangers. I just- Like every album I literally, like a month ago, played Reliant K Essentials on Apple Music while I play, um, while I mowed the lawn. I just have every album and I just go play, and it just- Oh, wow goes all the way through and I'm like- You're hardcore. Oh, yeah. Sounds like an MLM product. What do you mean? Reliant K Essentials. Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Essentials. That's funny. Yeah. Yeah, that's funny. Speaking of concerts- Hey are you guys going to see My Chemical Romance? Heck yeah, dude. Yes. Heck yeah, dude. That's also- When is that? Is that August? August 24th. Okay. It hasn't- And Hillary's in July the blue dotted fever- No or whatever they're saying. What does that mean? Well, I, I was nervous 'cause there's lots of tickets left. Oh. Oh, you think they're gonna get canceled? I'm nervous. That'd be sad. It'd be so sad. I would really like to see them. Yeah. It'd be worse than you two buying Justin Bieber tickets during COVID and having to wait two years to have your concert. I know. That was the worst. But he never canceled. He didn't. He didn't. That's true. He did... Was it that same tour that he did cancel shows later, right? Wasn't it that same tour? I don't know. I don't know. I thought it was- Yeah 'cause we talked about it, I think. Oh. I know. I just can't imagine the chaos that would be canceling or rescheduling a tour. 'Cause you'd lose millions- So much money of dollars. Because it's not just, like, the artist- Mm-hmm but it's their label. Mm-hmm. It's the venues. It's the, the, the, the, the- Mm-hmm, yeah. It's everybody just a trickle of people that are losing. Yeah. And think of, like, you... Like, okay, think Meghan Trainor, for example. Like, she was close enough to her tour that she would've already had, like, merch. Oh, for sure. Yep. Think of... Ugh. So Meghan Trainor, The Pussycat Dolls. I knew The Pussycat Dolls were gonna be- Okay, but how much money do you have to, like... Okay, let me frame my thought here. So, like, if you're gonna lose millions, say, to cancel, how much money would you have lost if you just continued? Like, what do you think the ratio is with that? You think they would've break even? 'Cause like that's millions. You think they would've br- maybe- Do you know what I'm saying? Maybe even- Do you understand my question? with the content? I get it. Okay. Uh, us- uh, granted, my live touring experience caps out at like 2,500 seat venues. Yeah. So I'm sure the logistics are much different. Yeah. But it's still 2,500 people paying $50 a piece is a lot of money. But- Yeah you have-- There's a lot of like layers of everything, so... And it d- it d- it gets more complicated in different states versus others. But like, so for example, um, we're paid, like we get pa- told we're getting paid X amount of dollars for every ticket that sells. Mm-hmm. And then the agency that works with us for the scheduling, they get their cut. The venue has to get their cut. Mm-hmm. A lot of the times in states, uh, especially on like the East and West Coasts, a lot of these bigger venues are owned by a, like a big conglomerate that just owns venues. Mm-hmm. And the labor, the people that actually work at the venues, don't work like for, you know, like- Most of them are volunteers say it's like, uh, you know, the, the Pilgrim Theater. Mm-hmm. No, they're not volunteers. Oh. The Pilgrim Theater, they're not employees of the Pilgrim Theater. They're employees- Yeah, they're contracted of a stage union- Oh, yeah or for a company. Right. And that company's coming in, and that company has to get paid. So like there's a lot of money in like, um... It's kinda like a wedding- Mm-hmm where like, okay, you wanna reserve us for this date, you have to pay the retainer or whatever it is. Mm-hmm. So I'm guessing it's all this money in retainers that you're gonna lose and all this other stuff. Right. But like what's the difference in them continuing with low ticket sales versus them just canceling completely? 'Cause they s- they lose a ton of money, and they, they still would've had some money from some of those ticket sales. T- typically, like imagine if you had a wedding and you had hired the caterer on retainer for 500 people. Yeah. And your options were to pay... 'Cause you're still paying... Just because you've sold less tickets doesn't mean the price of the venue changes. Exactly, yeah. 'Cause the size of the venue remains the same. Right. The amount of people that have to be working there to control the lighting and the sound and security, that all remains the same. So the cost is fixed. So it's basically, are you gonna make a, are you gonna lose more money going and doing the show and paying the full price for everything, or are you gonna lose less money just losing your retainers? Mm. Does that make sense? Yeah. Sort of, yeah. 'Cause it's like if- I guess if you have to pay, you know, the catering service at your wedding- 'Cause then you're like not paying staff to be there that specific day. You're not paying this. Right. You're just- So it's just like you're losing that overhead. Exactly. You're losing the retainer fees. Okay. I got it. But you're not having to... You know, if the venue costs $50,000 to rent out, but the retainer is only 10 grand Then you only pay the 10 instead of the 50. You only pay the 10 instead of the 40. Oh my gosh. So you're saving 40 grand, you know what I mean? Then how much freaking money are they spending on each of these, like, tour dates? Who knows? Billions? Ask Meghan Trainor. Per place. For, for arenas and stuff? Yeah. 'Cause I think she thought- Jeez she, 'cause she sold out Madison Square Garden. Did she really? I think she sold out. That's impressive. But she performed there, so I think- That's impressive and that was, like, maybe two years ago. Yeah. So maybe she thought, "Okay, I did Madison Square Garden. I can do..." But that, was she still on, off, coming off of, um, one of her bigger albums- I think so like that one? Maybe. 'Cause she hasn't put out a banger album in years. Did you listen to her latest one? I haven't. I know you said you liked it. "Toy With Me." I haven't listened to it. I thought you said you liked it, but I, I didn't. I like it. There's some cute little... But the- Uh, there's a couple things that are catchy, like from what I've seen from, like, shorts that she's done. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. The writing's not bad. "Sweat, a Shimmer." Yeah. That one. Mm. But, um, since so I was reading the comments and they're like, "This just sounds like ChatGPT songs." No. And I'm like, "Ugh." Did you hear Luke Bryan's new song? Mm-mm. Yo, terrible. It's terrible. It's- Really? Oh my gosh. It's like literally like- Wake up. Wake up. Coffee. Coffee. Hunt. Fish. Fish. Wetland. Golf. That's- I hate to break it to you, that's every country song- It's getting bad from the past 10 years. No, but this one is just- At least recent well, because he did that sunrise, sun, like- Yeah that sun, sun-kissed beer song. Yeah. Oh. So I thought he thought he could do another one, but I'm like, "No, you can't do this." He can't. And everyone was giving him crap about it online. Oh my gosh. That was the worst song. Yeah. And yeah, I'm reading the comments and I'm like, "This is terrible." Why does everybody suck? Are they relying on chat? Is it all AI? Everyone's like, "Is this a ChatGPT song?" I mean, I've heard some AI songs, and they're pretty good. Yeah. Yeah. I feel, I feel like a lot of artists phone it in for a number of albums on purpose. What do you mean? So, like, when artists sign deals, you know, the, the artist will sign a deal for, like, this label's buying your next three albums. Yeah. So, like, if you sign a deal that's good at the time, and you produce one banger album, and you go octuple platinum, whatever it is- Mm-hmm like, and you turn into, like, your fame amplifies by 10, and now all of a sudden you could be making way more money, but you still owe them two more albums- Mm-hmm you're gonna be kinda pissed about it. You know what I mean? So you just kind of f- well, I don't wanna waste- You, you just whack something out I don't wanna, I don't wanna waste my best works on this 'cause I'm not getting paid for it like I could be. Maybe that's why Drake dropped three albums. So they kinda, then they kinda phone it in, which was my question with Drake dropping three albums in a day is it's like, what, what did he have on, did he have three albums he owed to this label before he could go off on his own and start his own label? Oh, I didn't hear about that. Yeah. He dropped- I think he was trying to beat Taylor Swift, honestly, for her- D- has she done that? Yeah, she dropped a double album. Um- Oh, two. "The Poet." Yeah. "Poet" something or other. Yeah, "Tortured Poets Department." Mm-hmm. And what else? Or was that- No, that was, that was her double album Yeah. What's that mean? Like it was two in one. It was the, yes, the anthology is what it's called, which is a collection of 30 songs. Oh. And so she dropped both albums in the day. Mm. And she, uh, so one was released at the normal time that it was expected, and then at midnight it was, like, double released. I see. I do know that a lot of people assume- It would, it took up the top 30- Yeah songs. So Drake did 42, oh, geez, 42 songs. So, and he was- Wow in the top 42. And I love some of them. Yeah. They're good. Yeah. I do know that a lot of people accused Paramore of doing this with their last album, 'cause everyone was kinda like, "Uh, what?" Mm-hmm. So, and they kind of, she sort of alluded to maybe that's what was going on. Mm-hmm. That, like, this wasn't their best work, but they had a certain requirement of, like, number of albums or whatever that they were required to do. I think Halsey just called out her label, like- Mm-hmm they are restricting her from dropping new music. Probably. And she's like, I don't know, just they're, the demand, they want the music. She just can't release it 'cause her la- I don't know, some- Yeah. Labels are tricky. I don't understand it. Yeah. Yeah, they're- There's a lot of, I think, nuance that goes into, like, contracts and decisions and- Yeah all that kind of stuff, so. Yeah. I don't know. I would not wanna be caught doing that, being a recording artist. Yeah, no. It was the dream at the time, but- No there's way too much. Like, if you're not gonna do it private, in your own label, I think it's just too... I wouldn't mind being, like, a songwriter for somebody- Mm. Mm-hmm and, like, selling my songs. Mm-hmm. But I don't think I'd ever wanna be famous. I couldn't handle all the hate comments. Oh, seriously. Yeah. I could not. You know, I'm hard enough on myself. I don't need somebody else to tell me I'm ugly too. Like- Yeah. I don't need that. Like, or that this sucks, or I can't even take, like, constructive criticism sometimes. Like, it's just- I know, yeah hard, especially when it's your work and you've put your- Do you have a lot to deal with at work, constructive criticism? Do I have what? Work, or, like, at your job, do you have a lot of constructive criticism? No, not really. That's good. Yeah. 'Cause you don't really have, like... Okay, maybe I'm wrong. When you're a nurse, you don't have someone, like, lording over you all the time- No do you? Well- Yeah, so it's not like- perform- necessarily- performance reviews or- Yes. I get those annually. Yeah. Yeah. And my last one was- That's only once a year, though. That's not that bad. As a hair- Phenomenal as a hairstylist, too, like, they would, like, have a little grading report, like- Yeah. I always hated- I al- I always did good. I always hated having, um, reports from, like, oh, how many pe- This is, like, from way back when I was in college. Like, how many people did you sign up for this rewards program? How many, like- Mm loyalty things, like this, this, this. That's why I hate going- That's the stuff I don't like to TJ Maxx, 'cause I know you, they have to ask you- Yes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm "Are you using your TJ Maxx card?" Mm-hmm. "Would you like to sign up and save 5%?" Mm-hmm. If you sign up for TJ- I know, and it's like- And I'm like, "Girl, I- Yeah I'll listen to you, but..." My mom used- Yep to get pissy with those people. You, you really shouldn't 'cause they're- I know so mean to those- I know like- I know, because, like, the one lady- Like, management's mean to them she was doing their whole spiel, and I'm just- Mm-hmm listening to her, and I'm like, "No, thank you." And then she just goes, "Thank you for letting me speak." Like- do all of that. And I'm like, "Yeah, because I know you guys get berated-" Yeah, they do so, like- Yeah you have to be like that with every customer. Yeah. It's probably worse now than it was even- Yeah 15 years ago or whatever. What, what did your mom do? Just be like, "Shut up, I don't..." Well, pretty much just like, "No. No." Oh. I remember she would, like... Um, there was one time that they're like, "Can I get a phone number for rewards?" And then she's like, "I'm not giving you my phone number." Oh. And like got in a full-on argument with this lady. She can just say, "No thank you." Yeah, I know, but- Jo? Yeah. No, Jo. I know, because even- We call it using her post office voice. Ooh. Ooh. The s- the DMV voice is what it is. Yes. 'Cause- They're always bitches there was one time my mom was trying Mom, I'm sorry. Um- You can cut it out if you need to, but- She was, she was trying to ship a quilt in a- Oh, no UV Blue Vodka- box. Hilarious. And it said UV Blue Vodka all over it. Oh my gosh. That's so funny. And the lady's like, "We can't ship this. It says that it's liquid." And she's like, "Does this sound liquid?" Oh my gosh. She's like, "This is why the US Postal Service is failing." Oh my gosh. Could she just scratch it out with a marker? She was stormed out. So ever since then, it's like, "Uh," Oh. Could she have just scratched it out with marker? I don't know. Or, like, duct tape? Maybe. That's a lot of work. She could've just- Does this sound liquid to you? Yeah. That's hilarious. Yes. But oh, God. I think I would like... Yeah. Yeah. I had to use my postal office voice the other day. Recently? Yes. Oh, no. Because we have a favorite gas station in a local town. Mm. And they make subs, really good subs. And so I went in to order the subs, and they're like- Better have been a quick start "It'll be 15 minutes." And I was like, "Okay, that's fine." So we go down, we start playing pickleball at the park. Yay. And then I come back and, for 15 minutes. Shit. And they're like, "Oh, sorry. We haven't started your sandwiches yet. We got caught up with ice cream." And it's literally soft serve ice cream, so you literally pull the handle down. Mm. I watched him do it. Anyway, so I was like, "Whatever." So I'm standing there waiting, waiting, waiting, 35 minutes. Wow. And I was like, "This is ridiculous." So I made the same mistake. I was, it was a really good sub, so I went back the next day. I went back the next day, and I'm like, "Is there any chance this sub can be made in the next 10 minutes? 'Cause I'm kind of in a time crunch." And they're like, "Oh, no." I'm like, "W- why do you guys offer subs if you can't make a sandwich in 10 minutes?" Do you know what I mean? Mm-hmm. Yes. Have someone on the fast order line, have some- I don't know. So I was, I was not happy. I just ended up walking out. Why don't they have someone standing there ready? I don't know. That seems like it shouldn't be that hard. Are they known to make it fresh? Y- Well, yes, and I had to r- Craig's like, "Calissa, it's not a fast food restaurant. It's a gas station." Like- Yeah, but they're, they're a convenience store. Convenience store. Yes. So, like, that is convenience. For your convenience. Thank you. Okay. So anyway. Craig, you're wrong. Yeah, Craig. Um, this is a little off topic, but you said something earlier that it reminded me of. Um, my dear sweet, sweet Carver, who is nine years old. Oh, boy. Um, he was playing with the cat, and he's like, "Boots, you're so lazy. We should call you Calissa." What? Yeah. 'Cause I sleep all day. Like, in his mind, I'm in bed, like, all day. Like, he's at other people's houses. He's- being babysat by other people because I'm lazy, or I'm taking a nap, or I'm... 'Cause I work night shift. What'd you do? What'd you tell him? I kind of got on his ass. I was like, "Do you realize that I am awake every single hour that you are asleep?" You like your clothes? You like your toys? Yes, I'm, that's exactly it. You like your tablet? You like your bike? I'm, I'm just like, oh my gosh, how do I... Like, I know that, like, I can correct him, but that's still his perception of me- Mm-hmm is that I'm lazy. Mm-hmm. Early in the conversation, like, what made you think of that story? I cannot remember. We were talking ab- it was before concert venues. Yeah. Mm. But anyway. That was too long ago already. I already forgot what we were talking about. I know, and I've been saving that nugget in my head. Oh, geez. So anyway, if you have any suggestions on how to convince my child that I actually do work for a living- I mean, I just said that. I don't. You like your clothes? You like your shoes? Guess who paid for that, your lazy mother. We had- We just had a gratitude lesson for our kids. Well, and it's no secret I'm the breadwinner of the family, so it's fine. Yeah. We just had a gratitude lesson, and this was Calvin's thing, because the kids... Calvin's so dumb. I'm sorry, honey. But he is always complaining about how the kids are never grateful, and then he, like, goes to the store and he buys them, like, three packs of Pokémon cards- Mm every time. Mm-hmm. And I'm like, "Honey, when you do that, you're just telling them that every single time we go somewhere, you're gonna buy them something." Yeah. "Stop doing that." Yeah. "It's so stupid. Stop." And then it just, you complain about the mess that they leave, and this and that, and I'm like, "Just stop doing that." But anyways, so he's doing that, and then the kids are just ungrateful 'cause they're children and they don't have an understanding and, and like realistic concept of anything 'cause they're children. And so he's like, "We're gonna have a grateful lesson. That means all... Legally I have to provide you with is food and shelter and clothes. That's all I have to provide you. So for the next week," or whatever it is, the couple days, "that's all you're getting." And so like they had no TV. Oh. They had no toys, they had no reading, they had no nothing. What about, um- They just were like- chores there. How about like, uh, allowances? Like, hey- We don't do allowances. Mm. But they do have chores. It could be like 50 cents, like- No there's your- I feel like when you, I always tell them this, when you live in this house, that means that you are responsible for maintaining this house. So it's, I'm not your maid. I'm not like here to pick up after you. It's your job to be just as, like, interested in making sure that your toys are picked up, your dishes are put away, your garbage is thrown away. That's not my job. Mm-hmm. Like, don't leave something knowing that mom's gonna come and do it 'cause I'm not, I'm not gonna keep doing it. I'm gonna stop doing it. Yeah. I'm gonna stop. Um, there's this influencer, his name is Nick. He was on the Unsubscribed podcast. But he is known for, um, homeschooling or like- Mm talking like really positive about homeschool. Mm-hmm. And he said, "Mothers, like, teach your sons to like be the man that they, you want them to be." Mm-hmm. So like with groceries, have them carry in the groceries. Mm. Have them help you. When dad's out of town, have them make sure all the locks are all locked. Mm-hmm. Like, just little stuff like that. Mm-hmm. So they kinda get that like, um, not maternal role, um, that paternal- That like manly role. Yeah. Where you're like the protector. Kind of. Or like you're just like- You're like man of the house man of the house. You're strong. Yeah. Like show them that they can be strong. A leader. Yeah. And so- Mm-hmm I'm like, "Oh, that's a kind of a good idea." Like, let them like, instead of me trying to do all that- Mm-hmm like little stuff like that. Mm-hmm. And then the gratitude thing, mm. That's really hard. That's hard. But I just, we just want them to understand that like nothing is just given to you- Yeah just because you're you. Yeah. Like you work hard and you earn everything that you get. Like, we are only doing this because we love you. Yeah. Like, I don't have to do anything- Yep for you. You can make your own food. Yeah. All I have to do is buy it. You can make it yourself. I remember now what brought it up. You were talking about a lock-in- Oh and how you're like, "I could only stay up till like 2:00 or 3:00 AM." That's what made me think of it- Trigger 'cause I thought maybe I should have him stay up all night. Ooh, you should. And, and then sleep during the day. Is that child abuse? I don't know. I don't think so. See how long he can last. Mm-hmm. I bet he would only be able to stay up until, like, 2:00 AM. I think he could. To 2:00? Yeah. Really? You think he could stay up longer? No, I think it'd be less. Oh, yeah. I don't know. And I should have to ha- have him do, like, work. Wait, how old is he? No. He's nine. Nine. Is he gonna have, like- Did you ever pick rocks? Uh, I'm getting him signed up for rock picking this summer. Mm-hmm. Yes. 'Cause I don't know how... I mean, I was driving a tractor. Yep. Mm-hmm. And I think I was, like, maybe five out in the fields. Yeah. And I, I, I just hated it. Yeah. But my mom, she's like, "Hey, I'm gonna be picking rock this weekend if, like, the boys wanna come pick rock." And I'm like, "Oh, God, Mom, I don't think you want that, like, yet." They're gonna be complaining the whole time. I don't know if they're gonna complain or, like- Cutter? Cutter's gonna complain. I don't think so. You don't think so? I don't think so. You learn a lot of hard work- Yeah, you do you really do- Yeah, you do on a farm. Or, like, tassel ta- Yes the tasseling. I never did that. I had friends that did that. Yeah. And they were like, "This is the worst thing I've ever done." Like- Nope, I never did tassel. Yeah. I always wanted to- I didn't either because, like, they would have buses, like- I was a weenie "Yep, buses here are 5:00 AM," and then we- Mm-hmm. I'm like, "That sounds fun," but I'm like, "Oh, shit." I was a weenie. I could not. No, rock picking, I just hated it. I'm like, "I wish that we lived in the city so I wouldn't have to do this." I thought the same thing. "I'd be at the pool every day." I know. I was like, "Why do..." I didn't e- like, we didn't even get the benefits of, like, owning a farm. We just worked on a farm. Yeah. That sucks. So we had to do that. But I, I was like, I can remember, like you said, being like five years old. They had a little seat with a seatbelt on the back of the wagon, and I would sit on the back of the wagon with the You didn't walk the entire time? Well, when I was five I didn't, but then I, once I was big enough, then I was walking the back of the wagon. Mm-hmm. Yep. But yeah. Hannah's like, "Luxurious over here." Luxurious. We only, my grandma only made us pick rock one summer. Oh. And that was enough. But she did make us pick up acorns a lot. Yeah. Yeah. A lot. We did that, like, every year. That was terrible, too. Yeah. So I'm just like, yeah, when do you start to introduce that hard- I don't know work, getting their hands dirty? I don't know. Because right now they kinda love picking up sticks with my mom. Do they? She, she's like, "Yep, let's pick up sticks." And they're like, "Okay." And they just, like- Right to it, and she's like, "Hannah, they really like to help." And I'm like, "I know, but I don't wanna, like-" My, my kids would complain. Yeah. M- maybe not Brownie. Gus would complain for sure. Yeah. Oh, Gannon would not. Gus would complain. I'm not signing Gannon up for rock picking. You just know your kids, you know? Yes. Yeah. Well, and that- I feel like that's an... Oh, sorry, go ahead. No, no, go. That's another thing that's been thrown in my face a lot lately by Carver is that, "I'm not your favorite kid." Oh. Oh, Gus says that. What? Ugh. And it's like- 'Cause he's, like, in a stage of naughty. Ugh. And I'm like, "You, I love you all the same, and I love you all differently." Like- Mm-hmm there are certain things I would rather do with certain ones of you. Mm-hmm. For example, Carver loves to shop. Mm-hmm. He is so good at being like, "Yes, Mom, that looks good," or, "No, I don't like that." He's like a fashionista. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And I love to go shopping with Carver. He had his yes day, and that was just, like, a blast- Aw 'cause he'll get Starbucks, and he, like... Anyway. Love it. It was super fun. Love it. But Gannon, I would not do that. Gannon, I would love to just lay on the floor and play with him and get, like, a glimpse into, like, his mind. Mm-hmm. You know what I mean? But, like, that doesn't mean that I love you differently- Yeah but I love you the same in different ways. Mm-hmm. Yeah. So. And what about little, uh- Anders. Anders. I like to take naps with Ander. Yep, yep, yep, yep, yep, yep. I was like, how lazy of you. Yes, how lazy of me. Gosh, I love that though, 'cause I'm like, "Everyone be quiet." I'll let them lay in my bed with me while I take a nap, and they can watch their movie. Yep. Exactly. That's cute. Absolutely. That's good. That's good though. Yeah. Like, you kinda pick up on what your kids like. Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. And as they get older, they, more of their personality shows, and more you're able to kinda, like, clock what you wanna, like, what they would like and what you would like to do with them, and- Mm. I feel like that's perfectly normal- Yeah 'cause, like, I feel like it's like that in friendships too. Like, you have certain friends that you do certain things with and certain friends that you do other things with. Yeah. Oh, absolutely. Like, I feel like that's just kind of how life works. Yeah. Mm-hmm. So I think that's fair. It's hard to learn when you're a kid. It's hard for him to grasp, yes. Yeah. So yeah, if anyone's got any tips or tricks or anything to, like, get our kids, uh, more gratitude. Yeah. Yeah. How do you- What have you done? Don't say beat them. Oh. I don't know. Some people might. Who knows? Crazy stuff. I don't know. Gosh. No corporal punishment. Just like, you know- No, just- a gratitude lesson. What'd you teach him? How'd you teach him it? I just remember the Kardashians 'cause I watched, like, Season 1 through, like, whatever, and Khloé, earlier in the seasons, um, their dad would take them down to Skid Row and, like, kinda, like, show them, like, you know, you have the, your place in Calabasas. Your mom and I take very good care of you guys- Mm-hmm but it's not always like that in the real world. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And that was kind of her, like, wow, like Not everybody has what we have. Mm-hmm. I don't know how old they were, but yeah. Yeah. Kinda scary. So it's like, okay, what's their, like, you know, what's their skid row- Mm-hmm. Yeah for my kids? Like- Yeah. Age appropriate. Yeah, age appropriate. Yes. Skid row- Yeah quote, unquote. And it's rock picking. Mm. Yeah. For me, rock picking. Come on. And my mom is like, "Let's get them rock picking." Yeah. And I'm like, "Ugh, God." I feel- Did you get paid? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know how much my parents paid me, but- Yeah. Yeah. I don't remember seeing anything. I think it was just, like, maybe a penny a rock or something. It was so stupid. Oh my gosh. Wait, who did that to you? My grandma. Oh. I think it was the same for acorns. It was, like, a penny an acorn. Those big ones. Those, you know, those big green, the big, like, green outside part. You mean walnuts? Walnuts. Yes, that's what I meant. Oh my gosh. The big walnut shells. They stain your hands. The big green walnut shells. I know. She made us pick them up 'cause they were annoying in the yard. Did she not have that roll-y thing that, like, they- No, 'cause it was, like, her personal yard, so she just, like, made us all do it, 'cause there was a bunch of cousins. Yeah. Oh. So she was like, "Guys, go pick them up. Here's your bucket." She's like, "Why not?" Yeah, my mom does that with her willow branches. "Fill that up. You get a penny per one or whatever, or 10 cents per bucket or something." And I was like, "Super. This is great." I'll go to the local Dollar Tree. It was terrible. Hated it. That's funny. Yeah. I find it annoying, though, that, like-- And this is why I end up skipping it a lot of times. Ex- taking the time to explain and, like, teach them the proper way to do things sometimes, it takes so long, and I'm just like, "I'd rather just do it myself." Mm-hmm. And it would take me five minutes compared to the hour it's gonna take you to learn how to do this correctly and execute. Like chores-wise? Yes, anything. Like, teaching them how to vacuum, like, it really needs to happen 'cause I'm very allergic to our dog, so I, like, I need somebody else to be the one vacuuming or, like, dusting. Yeah. I need somebody else to do it But like teaching them. Yeah Oh my gosh, I could just keep talking. There is this, uh, TikTok mom. She's controversial. Oh, what's her name? Amanda M- Is it one of the new Mormon wives? No, Amanda MCG. Yes. She's a TikToker. Oh, I don't know who that is. Um, controversial. Mm. Uh, but her messy house, like she- Yes she's got three kids, and I don't know how old one is, but she was showing him step by step how to clean the toilet. Mm. And that toilet was nasty, like- Mm-hmm. But you know, the kid, you know, she's like, "Okay, you clean the spray and everything," and he was doing a good job, but the comment section, I'm like, I knew it. Someone's like, "Why aren't you having them wear gloves? Like that's disgusting." Mm. And I'm like, yeah, kind of. Like, so she's teaching them a, a really good life lesson, like how to clean the toilet, how to take care of your bathroom. Mm-hmm. But then someone on the internet's like, "They're not wearing shoes. They're not wearing gloves. They're using the same rag." Yeah. So it's just like she's trying, but like some people- She's very controversial. I've- What have you heard from- I've seen several. I've talked about her before. What's her name? Amanda MCG. And she does a lot of cleaning or- Um- "Look at my house. Let's clean it." So- "It's been two days." It's, it's like rage bait I think she does. Yeah. Like she like purposely just throws trash on her, in her house. I- Or just like she just doesn't upkeep it. I got hooked on her, not hooked on- Amanda M-C- McGiggins or some- McG- McGinnis. Yeah, something. But she tried to get her deposit back for her apartment, and like was scrubbing her house and like peeling off all the peel and stick tile that she's put on, and like there's holes in the walls. What? Yes. I think I'm thinking of the same one. You know, I really don't like when people are, like, half-naked on the internet for their- Is she naked? She just, like, has a bra on- Ugh with her stomach out and stuff. Oh, no. I'm thinking- Or- of someone different. Okay. Like, when they do their try on videos, I'm like, "You can, like, be conservative with your body. You don't have to share the whole internet, you in your underwear." Yeah. Um, no, she's just There was just a whole TikTok drama with her because she always showed her messy house, and she showed that she was always trying to clean it, but she's just one mom against, you know, five other people living in that house. Mm-hmm. So then a cleaning crew, they, out of their own generosity, were like- I remember you telling me about this "We're coming to your place and we're gonna deep clean your whole house for free." But they're gonna do TikTok Lives about it. So- Mm-hmm they were essentially getting paid. Yeah. Um, and I think Amanda was kinda salty that she didn't get any of the pay, but it's like, she's like, "It's my house. I'm giving you content." But then everyone's like, "But they are cleaning your dirty- Your house ass house"- Yeah "for free." For free. And if, like, people are, like, putting donations in in the TikTok Live, that's how they're getting paid. Yeah. So it was, I thought it was a win-win sit- sh- you know, scenario, but she was just like, I think she was just salty about it. And everyone's like, "I don't know why they're wasting their time cleaning her house. She's just gonna dirty it up again." And her last video, her house is still just- A disaster a disaster. Some of these are- Yeah like she looks, yeah, some of them, yeah. Yeah. Yucky. And she's like, "Well, I'm gonna s- try to deep clean again," and yeah. There, I mean, there's just more drama with that whole cleaning situation. Ew. What? Oh, some of these are so yucky. What are you looking at? Just like, I don't know. I don't even know what this one is, but it's like- Let me see watch as I crash out over this toilet, and this, the, like, beginning shot is just, like, the corner, and it's like- Yeah, but I think that was the bathroom where she's trying to teach her- Whoa like seven-year-old to clean the toilet. Seven. It was just, ugh. But this is like, this needs to be- I don't know how a toilet can get like that. Like the- Okay, but she does live- Why is it- in the desert- What? so I understand the dust that kicks in. Yeah, of course. And they've got- Of course. They've got, like, two big dogs. Mm. So. I get that- Yeah trouble. I get that. So I'm like, "Ugh." I just bought this, um, it's called KOE, and I mean, dogs just have a smell, but like, our one dog now is just getting o- old. She's very old. The small one or the big one? The, well both of them, but Olga- Oh, the big one is just so old now that, like, she just, it's not just dog smell. It's like old dog smell. Mm-hmm. And it just bothers me. Every time that we come into the house, I'm just like, "Ugh, I can just smell it." And so I bought this KOE, and it's supposed to be amazing for, like, cleaning your walls and stuff, and I'm like, "I'm gonna do it." 'Cause I just can't... I'm frustrated. Mm-hmm. I need a deep cleaner to come with me and do it for mine But probably not till she dies. I need an organizer more than I feel like I need to- Mm. And I need to, like, get rid of s- a bunch of stuff. Yeah, same. Mine is just toys. Yeah. I really need to- Cut down? Cut down on toys. Mm-hmm. You have lots of storage space though. Mm. No. Not really. Mm. And it's like all little weird, like, Burger King toys. And I'm like, "Do you really need this?" Toss. Just sweep them up into a pile. But then I see teachers, they're like, "Hey, we want your little trinket toys- Mm for, like, their classrooms." Mm-hmm. I don't know. You could try and donate them to school. Maybe. See if they want them. Yeah. I don't think our school wants them. I know. Mm-hmm. Because that was always my favorite part of the dentist when I was a kid. You could go in the prize drawer. The prizes. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And then I remember that was the day my childhood ended when after my appointment I was like, "I'm ready for my prize," but they didn't offer anything. And I was like, "Oh." You're not a child anymore. They didn't ask you what flavor toothpaste you wanted? That was, like, my big moment. They still ask me. Oh, they still ask? Yeah, they still ask. No, they s- Well, I vividly remember I was, like, 12, and they didn't ask me if I, like, wanted, like, the fun flavors. What? It was just like, "Here's mint." Like, ugh. Then why didn't you just say, "Hey, I really like cinnamon. I really like bubblegum." I don't know if you've met me before- Oh but that's just not part of my personality. Oh my gosh. But now look at you. You're however many years later, 15 years later- Yeah and you're still thinking about it. Yeah, I'm still thinking about it. You're mad about the convenience store not making you- My Subways sub a 15-minute sub. We have to talk about which place this is after we're- Yeah done here. Yeah. Um- That's funny. Speaking of the dentist, I kind of have a bone to pick with them. Ooh. Ooh. Speaking of things that I'm, like, upset about. They did a procedure on Carver. I don't know what they did. Mm-hmm. If they filled a cavity or they put a crown on, or what they did. But, um, they told him that, "My, my, your mom doesn't want you to have any laughing gas, so that, we're gonna do this without laughing gas this time." 'Cause they determined that he was old enough to do it without laughing gas, but they blamed it on me. And so Carver came out, he's like, "Mom, why didn't you let me have any laughing gas?" I'm like, "Dude, you have all the laughing gas you want. Like, I don't care. Whatever's gonna make the procedure more comfortable for you." But that's what they told him. What the heck? Why? Isn't that kinda screwed up? Why? That is weird. Why would they- I don't know. Why wouldn't they have consulted you? Yeah. I don't know. But I was, I was pretty pissed about that. Hm. Could you be in the room with him? I didn't say anything. Mm-mm. You couldn't be in the room? No. At, like, even Andrew's age, he's three, they won't let parents back there. Really? Yeah. That's weird. I think they get annoyed, but not so much Bronnie, but Gus still asks me to go back, so I'm like, "Hey, is that okay?" And they're like, "Oh yeah, sure." Yeah, my dentist, they schedule the boys, like, back to back. At the same time, yeah. And they're like, "Yeah, you can come back with us." Yeah. I've never been offered to come back with us, and they said- Really? they've specifically said, like, they do better without parents back there. Really? And they always have, but that made me mad about the laughing gas. In some, in some, in some situations, like haircuts, like- Yeah it, it is kinda better for the parent to go sit down. Yeah, yeah. But that's a medical thing. Yeah. Hm. You should have that noted in his chart. Like, give my child laughing gas. Did you talk to them about it? Of, of course not. Kalyssa. I'm just yelling about it publicly on a podcast. You'd rather scream at the convenience store, um, manager. You were upset and you just left. You didn't say anything. That's weird. Well, I just, I profusely apologized to Carver 'cause I'm like, "I'm so sorry, bud," 'cause he's bawling. He's- Yeah so upset that he didn't get laughing gas 'cause he, it pretty much knocks him out. His mother said no laughing gas- Yeah supposedly. I was super upset. Wow. That's weird. Next time you go in, have them note in his chart that he prefers laughing gas first. Um- You can just tell them at the front desk. Well, okay, so if you're- Will do not gonna speak up, do you think Craig would speak up? Mm-mm. Oh. I would email them. Then you don't have to talk to them in person Send them an email. When was this? Six months ago. Call us up. Oh, shit. They have their next appointment on Wednesday. Okay, so when you go in on Wednesday, have them make a note in their chart- Yeah and say- Get, um- "Harver prefers to have laughing gas with procedures." Procedures, yeah. That's- Note: mom approves laughing gas for procedures. Yeah. Or, or consult me first, right? I would just say that you approve. Yeah. Yeah, I should. That's interesting. I will. So I remember a dentist, um, in my hometown, like, I was just, the dentist was whatever, and I always remember the assistants always had their gloves on. Mm-hmm. And I always like, when they're, when they're by my molars I'm like, "I like biting their fingers," so I'd like, "Ah," like kind of bite at them a little. Not too hard, but like I just, I just loved it. And then the dentist would come in and check over my teeth, and he would go in my mouth barehanded. Ew. And- Sh- And I was like, "I can't bite his hands because he's not wearing gloves." And that was like my whole childhood. He never wore gloves. That's disgusting. And then, like eight years ago, my mom told me that someone went to him and they complained about him not wearing gloves, and I think like shut down the practice and everything. Good. And I was like, "Mom, it, he never wore gloves," 'cause I specifically remember I liked- Yes chewing on the assistants. Yeah. Because they wore their rubber gloves, but I never did- I have a feeling like- with him because he went in barehanded. That's, um, isn't that illegal? That's barbaric. Is that illegal? I know. I feel like it is. Isn't that disgusting? I don't know. That's disgusting. I don't know why he would want to have his naked fingers in someone's mouth. Ugh. Unless he had a latex allergy, I don't know. It doesn't matter. They make latex-free gloves. That's, that's- Yeah. You just have a latex-free practice. Yeah. So like- It's honestly, it's really hard to find latex gloves these days. They're like latex- Yeah, they're not even- free all the time. Mm. Yeah. Yeah, but I just, I- that's the only thing I remember from my childhood dentist. That is disgusting. I still go to my childhood dentist 'cause my mom was my hygienist my whole life. Oh. Until the last however many years, when Gus was little. Nice. Beautiful teeth. Can I just say something about, we were talking about things that we were annoyed about- Mm or as a parent, or inconvenient for us as a parent. Yeah. Yes? Sure. Um, teeth brushing. Ugh. Ugh. My kids will brush their teeth. Yeah. They'll leave the toothpaste still, like, halfway on there. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. They'll spit in the sink. It won't make it all the way down. Mm-hmm. It is the most annoying and frustrating experience that I've experienced Yep that I have to do on a regular basis- Yep as a mother. I make them do it. Clean up their toothpaste on- Mm-hmm in the sink? Yep. Or if they, they have this weird thing where they, like, hit their brush really hard on the side of the sink. Oh, God. And so it splatters all over the mirror. So messy. Ugh. And so I bought, like, these specific glass cleaning wipes, and I'm like, "These are the wipes that you're gonna use every time that you do that and have to clean the mirror. So if you keep doing that, you're gonna clean the mirror every single time. That's the rule." Oh my gosh. If they leave the toothpaste lid on, "Who was last in here? Come close the toothpaste. Is this your toothpaste in the sink? You rinse it out." I'm not doing that. I have to clean up my own mess. I'm not gonna clean up theirs. Feel you. Yeah. It's- They're getting old enough. Like, Gus is nine. Mm. Yeah. He's nine and a half. Mm-hmm. Like, he knows to thr- I shouldn't have to keep reminding him. This is just a personal thing, but, like, he'll-- If I'm like, "Okay, clean up your garbage," and then he'll throw, like, half of it away and leave half of it there, I'm like, "Hello." Sure. I said, "All garbage. Like, do you not see that this is garbage? Do you have eyes? Hello." It just drives me crazy. dirty clothes in the middle of the living room In, uh, yes Oh, drives me crazy My living room might as well be our laundry room. Yes. Like, there are socks everywhere- Yes clothes everywhere. Yes. The kids come home, and they'll just literally, like take off all their clothes and sit on the couch in their undies. Yes. And it's like, what? I rearranged, I moved our couches, and I was like, "I don't know how you or dad have any socks left- Yeah because they're all under the couch." Oh my gosh. I was so annoyed. Yes. And our couches aren't high enough anymore to like reach underneath and grab stuff, so once it's there it's, it's in the abyss. It's gone- Yes until I move the couch again. So. That's why I like summer. No socks. Yeah. No socks. Yeah, that's true. Love that. Stinky, gross feet though. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, should we conclude the episode? Yes. Yeah. What are you doing with your toes? Nah. Oh my gosh. I don't know. Oh my goodness. We've got like little monkey hands over there. I do. They're really long. Holy, and you spread them so wide. Yes. Gosh, my feet would cramp if I tried to do that. Good gracious. Good gracious. Um, I wanna give a shout-out to our waiter today. Oh, yeah. Cody. He like recognized us. Yeah, Cody. Yes. Mm-hmm. That was so cool. He's like, "Oh my gosh, it's the podcasters- Yep having breakfast." Yep. So I thought that was super cool. Shout out Cody. Yeah. Um, that we, we did that. Yeah. Thank you for your wonderful waitressing, right? Waitering. Waitering. Waitering. Yeah. Waitering. That sounds weird. Yeah, that, that sounds like wiener. Nice job waitering. Nice wienering. That's what I heard. Ew. Yeah. Yuck. We better stop talking. Cody, don't listen to that. Cover your ears. And on that, thank you for listening to our episode. Yes. Yes. This has been Hannah. And Calissa. And Sarah. Bye. Bye.
