Nobody teaches you this stuff. There’s no handbook. But if you break these rules at a car boot sale… people WILL judge you. But surely if there's no rules then it's survival of the fittest, right?
I'm joined by the infamous "Bargain Bell" for this podcast.

Nobody teaches you this stuff. There's no handbook. But if you break these rules at a car boot sale, people will judge you. But surely, if there's no rules, then it's survival of the fittest, right? My name's Chris, aka Car Boot Chris, and I'm a full-time UK online reseller. I operate mainly on eBay, but also on vintage and whatnot. I'm bringing you regular podcasts all about reselling with a bit of fun thrown in too. Hopefully to keep you company to entertain you and maybe a little bit of education. Who knows? Welcome to the Everything Reselling Podcast. Hey everybody, good evening. Welcome back. It's Monday night again, 8 pm, and we're here ready to talk about reselling, aren't we, babe? No. That's Belle. For those of you who don't know, you heard the intro. I'm Chris. This is Belle, my wife. And I'm a full-time reseller, but she is not. She is a normal job type person. So yeah, it's interesting to have Belle on the podcast with us. I mean, she's been doing it for a long time now with me, but it's interesting to have a non-reseller viewpoint, isn't it? Isn't it?
SPEAKER_03Well, I tend to give it you from the buyer point as well.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yeah. So it's always good to have that other viewpoint. If you're listening here on Spotify or Apple Music or one of the other audio channels, thank you so much for listening. I hope you're enjoying the podcast. I hope you hit that download button. That way, whenever we we release a new episode, you'll get it served up on your phone and you'll get a notification, hopefully, from that um whatever Spotify or Apple Music, you'll get a notification when there's a new episode.
SPEAKER_03And with all those errors in that sentence, you now know Chris is not AI.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. I'm not AI, I'm only human. Welcome to everybody in the chat. Lots of people watching live. We're going to say hello to as many people as possible before we get into our main chat, which is all about the unwritten rules of a car boot sale. Now we have touched on that subject before, but we're going to revisit it today and go in a bit deeper. I've got 10 unwritten rules. Maybe you've got more. Maybe you're a rule breaker. Maybe you don't care about the unwritten rules. Anyway, you can bring all that to the table in a minute, but Belle's about to say hello to as many people as possible in the chat. This is going to be pretty easy because we've only got 40 people in at the moment. Where is everybody? Come on, get your hellos in. See if you can beat Belle on the one-minute timer. Here we go.
SPEAKER_03We've got Jeff Davis, Helen Graham, Linling Jeffries. And now I've got an advert, so I've lost all my names.
SPEAKER_00Karen Evans is the next one.
SPEAKER_03I don't know, I've lost everyone.
SPEAKER_00Lucy's Carboot Loot. We've got Jamie D. Where are we up to? Em's Den.
SPEAKER_03Paul Hillman.
SPEAKER_00Here we go.
SPEAKER_03Um Carol Harris, Lisa, Fluffy the Muffin, Johnny Forticot, Cavallis, Demise Family, Limelight Vinti, Lizzie Scotty Dog Crafts, Sammy Valentino, Richard Payne, Chris Tyler, Cloud9 Allotments, Pixel Fix, Nothing Major, and Oh, Mushy Wushy, is that?
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's that Pixie from the weekend.
SPEAKER_03Uh hello. Uh Phil Higgins and I'm at the bottom.
SPEAKER_00There we go, that was quick.
SPEAKER_03And that was even with an advert getting in the way.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you're just in time anyway. There's your minute. We used to do two minutes of helloes, but since we turned this morning Monday night into a podcast, we thought we'd just do one minute so that it wasn't too boring for those people listening.
SPEAKER_03Well, we're still getting to the bottom of the chat all the time, anyway.
SPEAKER_00I know that's because people don't seem to be chatting much lately, do they? Where's all the chit chat? Of course they are. I just want to give a shout out to Dat Pixie. Mushy Wushy X. Dat Pixie was at the boot sale, both boot sales at Rill at the weekend. Did me some cracking deals on some Funko stuff. So thank you very much to Dap Pick.
SPEAKER_03I've never seen him so eager to get back out of there on a Sunday morning.
SPEAKER_00More deals to be had.
SPEAKER_03I didn't join him because I was working. It was my last official working weekend.
SPEAKER_00Ooh, no more weekend work for you.
SPEAKER_03No more weekend work for me.
SPEAKER_00You'll have to start working for me at a weekend.
SPEAKER_03I work for you every time I work for you all the time.
SPEAKER_00For free, I might add. And then work for free. For free?
SPEAKER_03All the time.
SPEAKER_00You know what we could put in there? I was just thinking.
SPEAKER_03You know how I went free? For free?
SPEAKER_00You know what that's from?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it doesn't sound like it though.
SPEAKER_00You know what it's from though?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I can't think I know what it's like. Santa Claus.
SPEAKER_00For free?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00It does sound like him, doesn't it? Nah. When he says he's gonna give away the candy canes, he's not gonna, you know, charge for them, he's gonna give them away.
SPEAKER_02He goes, for free.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna I'm gonna download. Chris Tyler says free sausage rolls at Greg's till 9 pm. What the hell? Get down there. We're on a diet, unfortunately, so sausage roll definitely does not fit into that. Nothing apparently fits into it. Uh reseller George, we're fasting right now, aren't we? I've been fasting since T. Have you?
SPEAKER_03I've been fasting. Well I started at five o'clock. You started after me.
SPEAKER_00I started about half past five because I had a protein bar afterwards. Yeah, I'm fasting now until probably about like 9am. Not good. Uh Lisa's in. Uh Reseller George is in as well. Welcome.
SPEAKER_03Helen says, Good evening from Sunny Plymouth.
SPEAKER_00Demise family knew what the film was. See, it was good. It was a good impression.
SPEAKER_03I knew what it was, it was just not a good impression.
SPEAKER_00John Inman, who's that? Who's John Inman? Is he the guy that plays him? Is he? I don't know. Don't think it is. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I don't know what he's called.
SPEAKER_00John is that the Santa movie with John Lifgow? That's it. Is it John Lifko? The uh Santa closed the movie?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Greg's Chicken Rolls. What? I never heard of them, are you?
SPEAKER_03Never heard of a Greg's Chicken Roll.
SPEAKER_00That's a new one. We might have to uh treat ourselves. Bounty hunters popped in as well. Welcome to you. Hope everyone's had a good weekend. It's been a nice weather weekend, which means the boot sales were probably all good. I spent 350 quid at this weekend's boot sales. I did 145 Saturday and just over 200 on Sunday. So, yeah, pretty busy. Let me know how your boot sales have gone over the weekend. Lisa says they look horrible seeing people videos of people trying them. Well, watching videos of someone eating something is not the same as trying it yourself. Yeah, but what if someone likes something and then someone else doesn't? True.
SPEAKER_03It's like if I can't say a chicken roll sounds appealing to me.
SPEAKER_00If I watched a video of someone eating peas or mushy peas, I would go, ugh, that's disgusting. But then some people like mushy peas. I love mushy peas. Exactly. They're absolutely rancid. Who's John Inman says you're not that young. I've I don't know, I've never heard of John Inman. I don't know who who that is.
SPEAKER_03We'll have to get a picture up and then you can see. Lucy said she's just back from another day volunteering at the charity shop and she'll be back in again on Wednesday.
SPEAKER_00What's a charity shop?
SPEAKER_03I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I thought I couldn't talk, apparently, according to the That's the way we're rolling today, apparently.
SPEAKER_03It seems like you're really enjoying it, Lucy.
SPEAKER_00That's good. Risa or George, I'm trying to fix a 2000 Mew Toy. It moves and talks, but the eyes don't light up. Maybe need new bulbs. Always fun trying to fix things, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03That's where my interest would die off. It don't work, I'm not interested.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm I'm I can't fix a lot of things. Although I can fix a Walkman that's got uh that needs a new belt on it. I can do that now, thanks to What's his nickname? I've not seen him in the chat for ages.
SPEAKER_03As you can see, we're both having one of those days where we're like not having much luck with our vocabulary. Men in Black.
SPEAKER_00What's his name? What's his name? The actor Men in Black. Will Smith. No, the other one. Fix it for reselling. Tommy Lee? Tommy Lee! I've not seen Tommy Lee in for ages. God, how did I forget that? Oh but yeah, Tommy Lee taught me how to fix Walkman belts because he does it on his videos. And he sent me some free belts as well. So I've still got a nice supply of belts.
SPEAKER_03It's gonna be hard work tonight for people, isn't it, listening to us?
SPEAKER_00I know. It's because we've not eaten for hours on end. It's like it's been a whole three hours and we've not eaten anything. I'm just in a one of them places. Demise Family, I broke one of my golden rules at the boot sale, spent way over budget and had to go back, go back to the cash machine. Demise, do you ever I don't think I've ever seen you at a boot sale where you've like asked to do a bank transfer. You know, if you do a big deal, you not just do a bank transfer, because that's what I normally do, and then I can save me cash. Like if you've got I was gonna do it the weekend actually with with that pixie because I spent a bit of money with her. I was tempted to see if she was willing to do a bank transfer, but in the end I just gave her cash. But I do do that quite a bit to be fair.
SPEAKER_03Limelight said he was that guy was from Are You Being Served? Oh, never watched it. Never watched it.
SPEAKER_00No, it's it's uh it's a it's an era, it's probably a decade before me that before I was watching.
SPEAKER_03Lucy says, still waiting for mum to be driving again after her knee replacement. Her six weeks is up tomorrow, and appointment is Thursday, and we're hoping to get back to car boot sales this weekend. Well, fingers crossed that all goes well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, good luck. Yeah, and Tommy Lee. People reminding me Tommy Lee. Not cat peddler, no, Tommy Lee, Tommy Lee Jones. That's it. Carolina Claus has popped in as well.
SPEAKER_03Did someone mention my name? Christmas. We're going seeing Carolina Claws, aren't we, this year?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're booked. We've booked. We are going to North Carolina.
SPEAKER_03We are booked to go see Santa in his parade, in his Christmas parade in November, and I am super excited. We decided after the shitty year we've had so far. Two holidays, haven't we? We deserved, yeah. But that's a big holiday. That's like that's like my bucket list holiday at the minute. So we deserved that trip. But yeah, we have booked a second one, haven't we? A relaxed trip.
SPEAKER_00Yes. Two holidays.
SPEAKER_03Gibraltar.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Technically, we wanted to just go to Spain, but the bit in the bit we wanted to go to in Spain is just outside of Gibraltar, so we're staying in Gibraltar and gonna walk across in between the two.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Two countries for the price of one.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I love that area anyway. We've been there a few times, haven't we? Demise, I was locked out of my phone. Bloody hell.
SPEAKER_03Reseller Jaw says, is it fasting or is it age?
SPEAKER_00Probably age, to be fair. We are getting old.
SPEAKER_03It will, I can I cannot wait. I've watched Santa in his parade. I've watched I've watched the whole parade the last two years. And it I just can't wait to be there. And obviously, obviously, I can't wait to be visiting the Bad Cat Cafe as well, and having something nice to eat and drink there. And I'm really, really, really hoping Santa, you'll have to confirm this. But is pumpkin pie big in North Carolina with it being because we're gonna be there over Thanksgiving as well, aren't we? Yeah, we're gonna be there over Thanksgiving, so we're actually gonna witness what Thanksgiving's like. But I'm really hoping pumpkin pie is big because I love it, especially Denny's.
SPEAKER_00Is there a Denny's nearby as well, Jess?
SPEAKER_03Well, any pumpkin pie will do, mate.
SPEAKER_00No, Denny's Denny's is the one. We're gonna eat it, Denny's most days and nights.
SPEAKER_03Aren't we aren't we like lavish? Can we have a Denny's and I want pumpkin pie?
SPEAKER_00Uh Lisa went on a day trip to Gibraltar. It's lovely Gibraltar. We were in many minutes.
SPEAKER_03We've got Spain and went on a day trip. Well, we when your parents owned a villa in Spain, you used to fly to Gibraltar, didn't you? And then drive into Spain. Into Spain.
SPEAKER_00Isn't there a Denny's in Chester? I very much doubt it.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know there was a Denny's in the UK. If there was a cat seat being as like the Denny's in to be fair, if anyone hasn't been to America, the denis are pretty much just like an American diner. It's nothing posh. It's kind of the equivalent to our weather spoons, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's a cheap it's like a cheap diner.
unknownBut love it. It's great.
SPEAKER_03Love it. Pumpkin Picker says hello. Hope the weight loss is going well. I lost four pounds this week and hope sales are going to Did you lose that at the car boot sale, Pumpkin Picker? I think I found it.
SPEAKER_00Did you drop a Did you drop a few pounds?
SPEAKER_03I found those, I found those few pounds.
SPEAKER_00You haven't weighed yourself since no, I'm weighing myself tomorrow, so I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But you had lost some weight.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'd lost two and a half pounds so far.
SPEAKER_03But you've not weighed yourself again since, and I'm just calling it quits because no matter what I do, the weight just doesn't go anywhere. So it is what it is.
SPEAKER_00Uh Lucy says I do enjoy the charity shops and the bonus I get first dibs, sorting all the toys. Excellent. Chris, I'd love that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's the same brand. It's in Swansea, not Chester. Well, there's not much difference between Swansea and Chester, is there?
SPEAKER_00Miles away.
SPEAKER_03I'll tell you what, if there is one in Swansea, that'll have to go on the road trip listening.
SPEAKER_00I wonder if it's got the same like menus. We'll have to have a look. Yeah, it'd be worth having a look. We will travel, I would travel for that. Rachel, how was your eBay live this evening? Rachel's on eBay live today.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I hope it went well. Santa says Denny's Waffle House, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Mrs. Claus and I have a grand tour planned for you.
SPEAKER_00Yes, please.
SPEAKER_03Oh, do you know what Jeff and Tracy did the other day for us? Right. We contacted them to say we decided we were gonna book, we were looking at places to stay. And it's quite expensive to stay in Raleigh, where I wouldn't say where Santa lives, but he actually lives just outside. So we've ended up staying in the next town along, or is it a town? Probably. Is it city? Is it city called Durham? And bless Santa and Mrs. Claus went out and drove around pulled into the car park of the place we were looking at booking to make sure it was all good. How nice was that? So we got a tour of the whole block.
SPEAKER_00It's an Airbnb we're booked, isn't it? For two weeks.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, really, it looks really nice. So as soon as they've done that, we just booked it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But yeah.
SPEAKER_00Pixel Fix says there was a Denny's a few minutes from my house. Unfortunately, it's closed as it was overpriced and the service was rubbish. Where was that?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_00And Rachel said it was good, loving uh loving it much better than whatnot so far. Rachel, what what what do you think makes it better than whatnot? Just I know this goes a bit off topic for tonight, and we're gonna get into our main topic in a minute because we've waffled a bit. But what do you think? Yeah, exactly. Why why do you think it's better than whatnot? I'm interested to hear some of your points on it. Or just give me your main point if you want.
SPEAKER_03There was a Denny's in Glasgow.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_03Do you know? I've never even thought to look to see if there was a Denny's in this country.
SPEAKER_00Have a look.
SPEAKER_03And Lisa says she'll take some of the weight she's slightly underweight. I've never used that sentence in my life. Ever. But you're welcome to it. You can have as much as you like.
SPEAKER_00Limelight said any chance you can bring back some black black black cat coffee. Bad cat coffee for a duck race prize. We might do something like that.
SPEAKER_03Leave us, leave us with leave that with us. Because I tell you what, there will be some coming back in my case.
SPEAKER_00We might do something like that. Or we could bring it back and wholesale it or and resell it out to you lot. We could double it, double the price, make it worth the while. Three dollars from Tracy, six dollars, six pounds in the UK. How about that?
SPEAKER_03Waffle House is like a cheap Denny's with a bonus mite to watch. We actually tried the last time we went to America, considering how many times we've been to Florida, we actually went in a waffle house, didn't we? Because we're not we don't really like waffles, pancakes and stuff like that. We'd uh we're not really big on it. But we decided for a change, we'd we'd check it out, and it wasn't bad, was it? For a breakfast, yeah. And it was alright.
SPEAKER_00It's alright.
SPEAKER_03It was alright, but wouldn't say it, I'd choose it over Denny's.
SPEAKER_00No, never, never.
SPEAKER_03And what's the other one? I hope iHop.
SPEAKER_00We've been there as well, but that's not no Denny's all the way. We we sat in an IHOP in in Atlanta when we went there. We went to an IHOP one morning.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because it was down the road from where we were staying.
SPEAKER_00We went to an IHOP. Rachel Fantastic says, for me, my stuff is selling better and and for more than it ever did on whatnot, I don't know the reason for it. It's interesting. I do think the prices are slightly you get slightly better prices than whatnot.
SPEAKER_03I'm I'm convinced. I'm convinced it's because of the way they've been set up. From the minute Whatnot was set up, it was uh cheap and cheerful. That's what everyone was expecting. Everyone's expecting to go on and get everything dirt cheap, whereas eBay's already set up that you don't necessarily get things for a pound.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's not the mentality that you have when you go to eBay. I think it's all in the mind.
SPEAKER_00Maybe. Yeah. Uh okay, right. Well, thank you for all the hellos and the chat to get us going, to get us warmed up for the show. I thought we'd talk today about the unwritten rules of the car boot sales. And this could apply to like flea markets in the US as well, I guess, in some ways. So see if it if you're listening and you're abroad or you're in the US, think of it as how it might apply to those. And I guess it possibly could apply also to things like garage sales, jumble trails, doorstop sales, all that kind of thing. So, yeah, possibly applies to those. So I've written down 10 unwritten rules for boot sales. And feel free to chip in. Do you stick to that rule? Do you break that rule? Do you not really care about the rules? Do you just do your own thing? So chip in as we go along. And um, shall I kick us off with number one? Well, let's start. Well, that it's not in any particular order, so I'll just start with what number one on my list. And number one on my list is boot diving. And it's something that I I do not engage with unless a buyer invites me around to the back of their car. Not for anything like that. It's rude. If anyone invites me and says, Do you want to come and have a look? Of course, I'll go and have a look. But other than that, I will not boot dive. That is one of the rules that I definitely do not break. Let me know what you think about that because you see it at every boot sale, you see it at Rill, where I went at the weekend, there were people diving into the boots. It's not me. I understand the need for people to get things and to pick things up and to buy things.
SPEAKER_03No, there is absolutely no excuse to put that amount of pressure on a seller because that's what it is. Yeah. You are putting a lot of pressure. If somebody did that to me, I'd get really, really anxious and worked up.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then I wouldn't want to, I wouldn't want to do the car boot.
SPEAKER_00I'd probably shut the boot and what I was going to say was I understand the need to get stuff for if you're a reseller and you need it to buy and sell and to pay your bills, but there is no need for that. You can wait for somebody to set up. I I really hate that. When I see what happens to me, right? When I'm walking down the aisle and there's new cars coming up, I'll have a look at as I'm passing, I'll have a look what they're getting out. But if there's people boot diving, I'll move, I'll I'll go and look on the aisle next to it where nobody is down there because everyone's boot diving. I'll go on the aisle where no one is.
SPEAKER_03Is there that many people that do it?
SPEAKER_00Yes. Right. Next time we're at I go to real, you're coming with me, even though it'll cost me two lots of five pounds to get in. You come with me and you you witness it.
SPEAKER_03For me to walk halfway round then sit and have a brew.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. You witness it. People go in the boots and they are swarming. Can I have that? Can I have that? You got any games, you got any this? You got any that?
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00And I I go on the next aisle and I just browse without any competition. I'm just picking things up without any competition.
SPEAKER_03Hensden said we can't stand seeing the boot divers, it's very rude. Rachel says, Don't touch anything that isn't out of the vehicle. Demise says I can't stand a boot sale zombie.
SPEAKER_00Rachel is a seller at boot sales, so she she's aware.
SPEAKER_03Demai says I can't stand a boot sale zombie.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03We'll come back to pixel fix. Mushy says, hey, it won't sell to anyone that does it. That's the way it should be. I just wouldn't. I'd shut my boot and be like, nope. Geordie Real saying hi. Elra Venta said boot divers are awful. I saw them all crowding a deaf woman once. She got overwhelmed. The organizer told them to back off. I do get a lot of bargains avoiding the boot dives.
SPEAKER_00You definitely do, because you get a free pick of the rest of the stalls when people are doing that.
SPEAKER_03Lisa says she doesn't drive, so doesn't go car boots from watching car boot views. I hate boot diving when the poor person is stressed out trying to set up scene when they said, Can you let me set up? And they just ignored her.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just there's just no need for it. Definitely. Also be polite there, folks. I call spreaders that pretty much take up half the stall and let no one else browse. Oh, it's Pixel Fix is bringing some others in. I'll just go I'll go back to Pixel Fixes. Their other one was get into a bidding war when someone's already agreed to buy. Oh, that's on my list.
SPEAKER_00We'll come to that in a minute, Pixel Fix. But yeah.
SPEAKER_03Patience and polite is that politeness pays off better. Mummers sometime sometimes tell people to back off and the sellers as support the sellers. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Ross says, uh glad I don't need to source from car boots at all. Don't miss the sleep deprivation. What have you just dropped? It's my ring, it's fine. And the appalling behaviour. It's not all appalling it, but there is some people who really don't respect people's there's nothing else.
SPEAKER_03There's no no one that needs something that that desperately that they have to get in like that. Yeah. There's just not an excuse for it, basically. Right, what's number two on your list?
SPEAKER_00Number two on my list is hold it or lose it. And what the hell was that? I bet that was even on the microphone. That was my belly. Um hold it or lose it. And when I say that, I mean if you ain't got it in your hand, then it's fair game. And I was I I made this mistake at the weekend. It was a bad mistake, right? I was walking past the stall at Rill, and there was a clothes rail, and right on the front, I think it was right on the front of the rail, maybe one or two items back, I saw, I saw this like like a fleecy waistcoat, a women's waistcoat, like a country type wear, country wear waistcoat, a bit like a barber brand, but it was a different brand. So I went over it, had a look at it. You can feel the quality straight away. You know it's going to be worth some decent money. So I said to the lady, how much is this? She said,£10. So I put it back down and I thought, before I spend£10, because that's quite a lot for one item, I'll have a quick look. So I sort of stepped back a bit and I had a little scan on eBay for the brand. And while I'm doing that, a lady walked past, picked it up, asked how much,£10, bought it straight away. And I knew at that moment I'd made a mistake. Because while she's doing that, I'm browsing on my phone, and these waistcoats are worth£90,£100, and that's pre-owned as well.
SPEAKER_03Snooze, you lose.
SPEAKER_00You snooze, you lose. So get it in your hand. If it's in your hand, it's yours until you pay for it or decide to negotiate or whatever. You know, nobody should be butting in on that deal. That's a maybe gonna come into that other rule in a minute, but get it in your hand, okay? And that's another one of my little rules. And I failed. I actually didn't think anyone was gonna pick that up because it looked just looked like a little waistcoat. I didn't think it was gonna be worth much, but somebody else obviously noticed the brand while I was looking it up. Never mind.
SPEAKER_03Chris says, Don't tell customers to bring their own effing bags. I don't understand that one.
SPEAKER_00This is a reference to Rachel Fantastic, who is constantly being asked, have you got any bags? And so she made her own bags.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_00That says bring your own fucking bag.
SPEAKER_03I love it. Uh Rachel said she wanted something in a van that she wasn't selling, was storing it in the van, and someone was really angry that I wasn't selling it and asked, Why would I bring it if I wasn't selling it? Oh god. Some people aren't there. El Rebens said sellers often house clearance guys smoking cigarettes or roll-ups, and you get the stock home and it stinks of smoke. They often do it illegally in underground car parks. What smoking?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I don't understand that last bit.
SPEAKER_03Even had other buyers smoking next to me while I was browsing getting smoke on clothes, it triggered my asper. It was an underground car park. Oh, it was an underground park car parts were illegal, right? Okay. Uh Jeff says if you say barber branded coat three times fast, super day baby L reselling will appear.
SPEAKER_00I bought I did actually uh yesterday, I bought two barber coats yesterday, two barber jackets on another store,£10 each. I was very happy with those.
SPEAKER_03Brandy Bentos, hello. I said when I sell and people are hassling me when setting up, I just tell them double the price I would normally want and they sharp move on. That's one way of doing it. Okay. Marie said she was looking at an item once, had it in her hands, but the seller just came along and took it out of her hands and sold it to someone else. Really?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's naughty then.
SPEAKER_03Well, I won't buy, I won't buy anything else from that person.
SPEAKER_00That's really naughty in it. That's bad from a seller.
SPEAKER_03That I'd love one of them bags. Need to show Belle one of your bags.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, I'll I'll dig out a picture. I'm sure she's got one on Instagram or something somewhere.
SPEAKER_03Hmm.
SPEAKER_00That's good. So there you go. That was my number two.
SPEAKER_03So number three.
SPEAKER_00Number three, I've written down three for free. That like that was like Scooby Do that.
SPEAKER_03Mine's the other thing. When I when I say that, I think a Dobby. Dobby's a free house.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll have that. Okay, number three um is no trash talking. So when I say this is right, what something that annoys me a bit is people that trash talked an item to get it cheaper from the seller. So you pick up, okay. Oh, how much is your iPhone, by the way? 200 pounds. Oh, well, it's got quite a lot of marks on it. It's pretty scratched. Is it actually working? You know, I could take a chance on it, you know, it might not work. Trying to get the price down. Do you like that little role play going on there?
SPEAKER_03Pretty sure I did that would have bought me a new car.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's different. You can do it to corporates, but you can't do it to someone who's got to put four.
SPEAKER_03It was legitimate though, I wasn't lying.
SPEAKER_00You know, you know what I mean? I mean yeah.
SPEAKER_03Trying to diss the item.
SPEAKER_00Trying to devalue the item so you can get it cheaper. I think that's a bit of a low move. Yeah. I really do.
SPEAKER_03If you're not happy with the condition of it and you're not happy with the price, you just put it down, don't you? You say thank you, put it down and walk away.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's like, how much is your water bottle? Pound.
SPEAKER_03Hmm.
SPEAKER_00Looks like it's oh, it's a bit, it's a bit loose the top there, and I'm not sure about this. It's got scratches all over it. Would you do would you take 50p? You know that kind of thing. I think I missed my calling, baby. Should have been like an actor or something.
SPEAKER_03Lucy said, hold it always or have it near you between your legs or on a trolley sone, not on not on the stall when you're doing the deal. And also, knowledge is power, Chris.
SPEAKER_00That's true. Absolutely, yeah. But you can't have knowledge on every single thing, and clothing is so vast. I'd never seen that brand before, which is why I was looking it up, but it felt quality, you know. I probably should have just taken a gamble at the£10. I felt like it was going to be worth it, but never mind.
SPEAKER_03L Renters are sellers who don't seem to understand eBay fees, they don't understand I can't buy it for that price.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Chris Tyler says, sounds like all videos I watch.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, when people are trash talking an item just to devalue it. I think it's a bit rough that.
SPEAKER_03Richard said yesterday we sorted out a bundle in a box, and whilst the seller was counting it and pricing it up, a woman started taking stuff out of the box, she grabbed two things, but not worth the confrontation. Yeah, it's it's difficult, isn't it? Because when you're when you're buying stuff and you don't want to say, uh, excuse me, I'm I'm in the middle of buying that. I mean, when we did the jumble trail the other week, I'd picked up a load of like metal gnomes and all that sort of Christmassy stuff, hadn't I? And I'd also bought like a tree base around things, so I was putting them in it, and then some lady came along and started rummaging in in what I was loading all my stuff into. Luckily, the stall holder went, No, no, that's she's buying that, and you can't you can't take that, but she just came over. Must admit I hesitated because I didn't know what to say.
SPEAKER_00I haven't had that, I've had people looking in my bags and stuff.
SPEAKER_03Well, to be fair, I've done it. I uh I have when somebody's put all the bags down and I've just thought it was a bag at the front, and I've started looking and they've gone, oh no, that's mine.
SPEAKER_00We've all done that. Sorry, we've definitely all done that. Ross says, I've done the bringing an item down, but innocently, like rejecting an item, then asking why, and I've said, Oh, because it's broken or that, and they've offered it cheaper. That's different. That's different. You haven't dissed it. And to be fair, I'm pretty sure I've done the same as that. I've done the same. I don't know. I might have even I might have even done what I've said I don't like at some point. But I think as time goes on and you I'm I'm not as desperate as I don't know what it is, but like sometimes people are really desperate to like knock 50p off an item or something. I don't feel like I'm as desperate as as some people seem to be to get that deal. I'll just buy it or I won't.
SPEAKER_03You are sometimes willing to pay slightly higher prices.
SPEAKER_00But yeah, I'm pretty sure I've probably done some of these things at some point. None of us are perfect, right? These are just uh the written, just like once upon, you know, maybe once in my lifetime I might have gone at 31 miles an hour instead of 30 miles an hour, right? Come on. I mean, we've all done it, and then I might well have done some of these things in the past.
SPEAKER_03Lisa said, I hate that when they go it go it's this much on eBay, then just sell it on eBay, but half the time they're wrong with the price anyway.
SPEAKER_00That's true. A lot of the time when people check eBay prices, they just have a quick look and they don't check solds, do they? So yeah, a lot of people don't realise that you can check solds. Conversely, I hate it when sellers big up their items, aka they go for X on eBay.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. I'm glad you could read that because I my brain wasn't putting those words together. Richard said, I said it was sold, but she took the stuff anyway.
SPEAKER_02Oh, right.
SPEAKER_03Charming. Lovely. Alright. Jeff said the time to buy a rare or unusual item you've never seen before is now you if you try to come back later, it will be gone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Richard Payne, hang on a minute. Richard says, I'll point out faults or issues to get a bit off, like a Blu-ray playing player missing a remote or something like that. Oh Richard, you are in jail. You are in jail on this one. No, it's listen, it's all a bit of fun, right? It's all a bit of fun. We we all do it. But I guess with that one, like if there's a piece missing, like yeah.
SPEAKER_03Did somebody do what Jeff said? Did somebody say ABL's name three times? Because he suddenly appeared in the chat. Yeah. Did somebody do it? Did somebody say Barber Jacket three times?
SPEAKER_00Shall we do number four? Go on. And now this is controversial. And I definitely did this at the weekend, but there is a there is a train of thought that you shouldn't do this particular thing. And I'm not sure, I'm on the fence with this, and I'll give you a couple of examples. So my number four is to Google in plain sight. And what I mean by that is just to check prices, to you know, take a Google image of something, or to check your eBay prices right there in front of the store, like item in hand, checking prices. Now, I'm very much 50-50 on this. I've done it, I did it at the weekend, I did it with that coat. I stood in front of the rail and I checked the prices. I didn't have it in hand, obviously, because I lost it. But but I did check the prices there and then on the store. I don't always do that. Sometimes, like later in the boot sale, I bought a it's down here actually, I bought a tractor control X1 mixing desk. And what I did with that was he told me, oh, that's£20. And I actually walked away from the stall, checked it as I was walking up the aisle, and promptly, as soon as I realised it was worth money, I came back and bought it. So I on that occasion I did that. And also sometimes, if if there's a if there's a rapport with the seller, there's a pretty much an acceptance that I'm a reseller, and you know, we know about we know the game, we're all we're all resellers at at six o'clock in the morning. If there's an ex if it feels like there's an acceptance there, I will sometimes say, Do you mind if I just look it up and I'll do it there and then at the some of them will actually say, look that up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Someone will actually so chiefly people have said that. That's a new thing, isn't it? In the morning, go check it, go check out on eBay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So on this particular point, I'm very much 50-50, and I it doesn't particularly bother me, but I've seen loads of comments on videos, on reels, stuff like that, where people are really dead against this, dead against this whole checking the prices in front of a store. So let me know what you think because this is what this one is a bit of a bone of contention, I think. I I can do either, and sometimes I will stand there and sometimes I won't.
SPEAKER_03Linlin said if I was a seller and someone wanted to buy something, I'd double the price if they look dodger. So you'd be getting everything at double price.
SPEAKER_00Oh, thanks. Thanks, Linlin. Cheers.
SPEAKER_03Chris said I was Chris Tyler said, I was stood near someone buying off a young girl. Once she got his change, he said she could keep it as the mask wasn't good. Thought that was nice. That is nice. Uh Richard said, but his replacement would will cost him perhaps a tenor on eBay unless I'm very lucky and see one at the boot sale. So obviously he's trying to get that price down a bit so that he can compensate for it.
SPEAKER_00Reseller Joyce says, I don't mind as long as it's away from the stall and not in the way of others. However, if no one's around, go for it. Yeah, fair deals. You're not blocking the stall to check the prices, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Elverman said, Does anyone else get burned by people that have sold them absolute crap?
SPEAKER_00And I vehemently avoid them.
SPEAKER_03No, fool who I can't read. I can't read. Everything's blurry. Uh, if it's a person with a genuine mistake, but there's comments too.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Lucy says, I don't check prices in front, but my mum does. But I wouldn't, I don't agree with it as again it's to do with knowledge and going with my gut. I will walk away and check if it's worth worth it. I go back. Lisa said when they know the game, that's okay, I think.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Sometimes you know and you know, don't you? They know that you're a reseller and you know, really.
SPEAKER_03Jeff says most flea market sellers know eBay is a lot of work and has fees. Price checking on the spot is okay with me.
SPEAKER_00There you go.
SPEAKER_03Elra Vent says, I don't think checking it there is anything wrong. They have just as much chance to Google it as I do. I wouldn't do it if someone I like or is nice, but everyone has the same chance.
SPEAKER_00True, true. I I think as well, if you're if you've paid early entry or if you're at a boot sale bang, you know, bang on opening time, chances are you're a reseller. And if people don't realise that, then it must be crazy.
SPEAKER_03Dave says, I generally don't get why people think there's a problem with checking comps in front of a boot sale seller.
SPEAKER_00No, I've seen so many comments about this particular point.
SPEAKER_03Well, do you remember the one we chatted about the other week where the about the car boots and people kicking off about stuff? That was one of the big comments feeds on there was people getting knocks because resellers were coming checking prices out. So I suppose it depends, like you said, what where you're coming from in terms of if you're just general Joe blogs, then somebody come, it might get the backs up because you don't understand.
SPEAKER_00Richard says he sometimes checks with sellers that they're okay with checking. Yeah. I think if you if you if you feel like you've had a little conversation or got a rapport, I think it's always nice to check, isn't it?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Richard said I would check if the seller is okay with it. Fine, many sellers are happy for you to look it up these days. Yeah, agree, ABL, the sellers are soon enough to check and tell us how much it is.
SPEAKER_00My next one on my list, number five, for the unwritten rules of boot sales, is bundle smart, but don't be tight. And when I say that, is like if you're at a stall and there's lots of things that you want from that stall, it's always a good idea, isn't it? Right? I'll pick that up, pick that up. How much is that pound? How much is that? Two pounds, how much is that three pound? Right, I'll put them all together, and I will often I always love a good bungle, you know that. So I'll say to somebody, have you got a price if I buy all this? Have you got a price if I buy all five items here? Can you do me a better deal, you know, or can you do me a bundle price? And you, you know, generally whatever they come back with as a bundle price, if it's less than what it was individually, I will just pay it. I don't I don't generally negotiate any further than that because at the end of the day, you've got it cheaper than what the individual price was. You know, everyone's got to make a bit of money, haven't they? So I that's that's what I tend to do most times is I will just accept that bundle price and just pay. I'll go, okay, thanks very much, and I'll pay that. Right? But the reason this is in the list is because people get really cheeky with the bundle prices, don't they? I've been stood at stalls and I heard it at the weekend. Again, I was at the two boot sales at the weekend, a very busy boot sales, so you get to hear a lot of conversations going on. And one guy offered a bundle price that was like more than half off what the individual prices were gonna be. And I just thought, oh, that's a bit naughty, that that's a bit too much.
SPEAKER_03Most bundle prices you're looking at maybe buying four, getting one free, aren't you? That's the sort of sort of price you kind of it ends up being. Yeah, something you know. I'm not saying that's the way you look at it, but price-wise, it normally works out that you've paid for four and maybe got one thrown in.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Where are we up to on the chat?
SPEAKER_03Lucy said the reason people have a problem with checking prices is due to some sellers have an issue with resellers and putting prices after saying a price so they can see both sides. And Lisa said, what if the seller is clueless and you check and it's like a hundred pounds and they're asking something like a fiber? Well, unfortunately, they had a chance to check before they brought it, so it's not about being clueless, is it? Everybody understands that things have value because they would have purchased it potentially in the first place.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, that's fair. I think it's fair again. I think there isn't there is occasions when I've paid more, I've offered more. If I've felt it's really low.
SPEAKER_03But but how often do you hear of this is what people want the bolos? The things there, you're you're finding you're finding stuff at car boots, jumbled twells, or whatever else that have got value in them.
SPEAKER_00It's a really valid question, that Lisa, actually, because it does happen that, doesn't it? I think most of us will just pay the price of that. I think when it gets naughty with this, is when you know that that's the markup and you still try to get it cheaper.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like if you know it's five quid and you've seen it£100 on eBay, and then you say, Well, you take three, that's when your own morals come into play, isn't it? It's like, well, it's it's up to you as a person to Well, I guess that's exactly what happened with that vest you missed out on. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That person who bought it, clearly, if they bought it that quickly for a tenner knew the value of it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but what Lisa's saying is if you check it, check up on it.
SPEAKER_03What difference does it make if you check it or if you know the price of it anyway?
SPEAKER_00I suppose so.
SPEAKER_03It's the difference in that price, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's another point then for you, Lisa. Then there's no difference in doing this, what you're talking about, and actually just having the knowledge up here and picking an item up, is there?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Like I said, I'm sure the lady that bought it knew that it was worth a lot more and she paid, she bought it. And you said they were worth like 900 quid, didn't you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, easy. Easy. Well, yeah, good question though, Lisa. I like stuff like that. It challenges the way you think about things. Frey Andy Bentos says, as soon as a seller mentions eBay, then it's fair game to check in front of them. Yeah, I think that is the key point as well, isn't it? Limelight says, My unwritten rule is to take lots and lots of change, both as buyer and seller. Absolutely. I've got that on my list. We'll come to that again in a minute.
SPEAKER_03ABL says the only thing that matters in a boot sale transaction is agreeing on a price. If you can, a sale is made. If it's not, it isn't.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Lucy says one of my unwritten rules is don't pay£20 for 50p items, it bugbears, or have correct entry payment instead of trying to get organisers to change it. Oh, don't you don't use a£20 note for a£50p item.
SPEAKER_00Sometimes you've not got a choice, have you?
SPEAKER_03If you're literally out, but you know you can be a nuisance for me with that, because I never go with any cash.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's your fault.
SPEAKER_03It is my fault, but I never go with any cash, and I can guarantee it'll then give me a£20 note. And I I don't like doing that, so I'll end up buying something for more money, trying to find something for more money so I can change my bloody note, is given me.
SPEAKER_00ABL says in the nine years of reselling, I've ever had ever had two people say they're putting the price up because I'm a reseller. I've never I don't have ever had anybody say they're putting the price up. No. I think I would remember it if anyone said it. Nobody's ever said it to me, I don't think. El Reventer, I don't usually tell people if their prices are ridiculous and polite and say no problem, might be back, but not. Not a comeback. Exactly.
SPEAKER_03That's what you do, you just put it down if you're not happy with it, put it back and don't know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. And people have the right to put a whatever price they want on it. It's their item, and it they're up, it's up to them to price it.
SPEAKER_03But for me, that doesn't have to be a ridiculous price. It might just be a price I don't want to pay.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know, it could only be they could have said it's three pounds, but if I don't want to pay more than a pound for it, that's fine, I'll put it back.
SPEAKER_00And it might some prices might seem ridiculous for us because we're resellers, we've got to make a profit on it. We've got to double, triple, quadruple our money or whatever. If you're buying it for yourself, if you're buying it for yourself, suddenly things can be a really good deal. I think we're down to the bottom. I can get on to my next point here.
SPEAKER_03I think that's why I see it differently sometimes because I spend more and more time buying for myself.
SPEAKER_00Lisa said I don't like it when they won't give you a price and say, Would you yeah, what would you? Yeah, that's the worst thing, isn't it? Ever.
SPEAKER_03Do you know it never works? Do you know on one of the jumble trails? A kid said that to me. A child at a stall said that to me, and I wouldn't mind, but I was only buying something because I felt I I've got a thing where if it's a child selling, I want to try and give them some money, so I'll always try and buy something off them. And he'd mentioned, and he he knew we'd have tactics. There was a stall across the road, and he'd seen a badge that he wanted which was five pounds. So I thought, right, okay, I'll try and give him some money. So I was like, How much do you want for that? And he's like, How much are you gonna give me? I'm like, don't say that to me. I was like, You tell me and then he went, Oh, between two and three pounds.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, No, he said between two and five pounds, or between two and five pounds. It's on video, so it's there. Yeah, he said between two and five pounds. So most people would say two, but of course, Bell said three, which and then I bought somewhere else to make it up to a fiver, so he had his five pound. Yeah. So anyway, right, next point is the early bird catches the worm. So for me, one of the unwritten rules of boot sales is if there's an early bird entry, just pay the money and go in early. As a reseller, you get that back on one item. I mean, my local one at Rill is£5 early entry, and you get you get a whole two hours before, well, even more than that sometimes. I on Sunday I got there at half past six, paid five pound early entry, and I was Joe Bloggs doesn't come in until nine o'clock. Nine o'clock is one pound entry for Joe Bloggs. So you get two and a half hours of just it's just resellers in there at that time. It's all resellers, but pay it because if you go in at£1 at 9 o'clock, you honestly, you might as well not be there. You might as well not bother. It's been picked over. Yeah, you might get a few bits, but I was come nine quarter past nine, I was leaving to come home. I was done. I'd walked around the entire boot cell many times. So this goes out, this particular one, and I made a comment on their recent video, Emsden UK. This goes out to you guys. Pay the early entry, you tight gets pay it. You'll get more stuff, it makes sense. Pay the early entry, guys.
SPEAKER_03We did go once it's a business expense. We did go once when we got there and I couldn't be bothered going in. Or was it quite a lot the early entry? So I stayed in the car while you walked around.
SPEAKER_00I don't remember. I don't remember which.
SPEAKER_03When we was in Devon, it exits a race course. It's about 10 quid. It was it was quite expensive when we got there for the early burden. I was like, nah, we're not you're not paying that, so I just I lay down in the back of the car while you walk around.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so my unwritten rule, and I guess it's really like for me, like if ever there's an early entry, I'll pay it. Like I think Exeter race course is either eight or ten pounds early entry. That's quite a lot, that one. It is for two, and then when there's two of you, like you know, especially when I'm just swaddling around eat shit for myself. I guess I guess that's that's like Em's Den, they go together, so they'll have to pay two early entry fees. So I guess that's a downside, but it's still gotta be worth it. But I'll put a challenge out there to Em's Den. The next time you go, pay the early entry and see if you feel like it did you better.
SPEAKER_03Em's Den said they just don't agree with early bird entry, it's unfair. They want to make more money, don't they? And they know resellers will pay it.
SPEAKER_00You just gotta play the game. You've got to play the game. That's my challenge out to you guys. Emsden, next time pay the early entry. I know there's two of you, so it's double, but I want to see it on your video. Did you do better paying the early entry?
SPEAKER_03Jeff says, in all my years of buying up flea markets, I've never heard anyone call me a wanker.
SPEAKER_00What, sorry? Well, I'll be glad to hear that nobody's ever called in one of those.
SPEAKER_03ABL is leaving us. Thanks for joining us. And he said it'd be good to see you at Haydock.
SPEAKER_00Don't know where that is. Haydock, but it's a bit like Hayden, so it could be a good one.
SPEAKER_03Uh El Riventi said there's a charity shop near me with ridiculous prices at the all. I go in there just to have a laugh. It's good entertainment. They once priced fake poke poke money? AliExpress badges selling for£12. Wow. Well, to be fair, we went in the charity shops in Prestaton the other day, didn't we? When Cookie was having her haircut and had a look, and we pretty much walked in and walked out of every single one of them.
SPEAKER_00Oh terrible.
SPEAKER_03And one of them was selling, they were new trainers, weren't they? Like new box trainers, but they were selling them for like£80.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah, they they clearly had a donation from like either a shop or like you know, like an outlet or something like that. They've got all these brand new boxed old stock trainers, they were top whack prices. Yeah.£45,£80,£65. Who's who's paying that?
SPEAKER_03And there wasn't a single pair of used lady sandals in there under£12. All the ladies' sandals were like£12. I was like, nope. You've made me into a right tight ass. If it's more than a quid, I don't, I'm not interested.
SPEAKER_00Ora Venta says, can we ban car boots at a time when only Dracula is up? Now I I used to say this: why can't we have later starts at car boots? But you know what? If we did, everybody would be there and you'd have so much more competition. You would literally be competing with resellers and Joe Public. If it if it was like, you know, 11 o'clock start or three in the afternoon or something, you you'd have a lot more competition, so that would be the downside, wouldn't it?
SPEAKER_03Lisa says to George, I think it's nice that your mum and dad get up early to take you to car boots.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03But to be fair, he said his mum does it because she gets a free Costa. I'd do it if I got a free Costa too. Sometimes you bribe me with coffee.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Lucy's car boot loot says I go to most early entries, but it's under a fiver as it's as normal have to pay for two people, yeah. But you could come away with nothing. So they agree with Em's Den. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03But that's the risk you take, isn't it?
SPEAKER_00It's the risk you take.
SPEAKER_03I've makes you more determined to look at everything and find something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you've got to find a couple of things, haven't you?
SPEAKER_03Lime like said it really annoys me when the boot sales doesn't advertise that there is an early bird entry. I turn up on time to see loads going around.
SPEAKER_00So annoying. The problem is when you this problem arises when you visit new car boot sales that we've you've never been to before. We find it, don't we? Like when we're when we're away on a trip or something, and we're like, oh, any any car boot sales round? And then we've got to figure out what time to get there to get in. And it it never ends well, does it when you're at a new one?
SPEAKER_03Do you remember the one chesterway that we went to? And the first time we did it, we got there on time because it's it said nobody's let in early, and when we got there, everyone was in. So the second time we went, Chris got us there super early because he was like, That's not happening again, and they didn't let anyone in, did they? And we had to queue outside for freaking ages. Yeah, and it were boiling, wouldn't it? That day as well. It was really hot, and we had the dog with us.
SPEAKER_00Richard said, We've not paid the early entry yet at real and still find loads. Yeah, but Richard, think how much more you exactly. How much would you be finding if you did the early entry?
SPEAKER_03You'd get loads. George says if I pay early entry, I'll only do it in the high summer season and bank holidays in August.
SPEAKER_00Fair enough, yeah, fair enough.
SPEAKER_03El Raven says there are no bargains in the charity shops in Prestating.
SPEAKER_00Andrew has got them all already.
SPEAKER_03No, there's just no bargains.
SPEAKER_00Andrew wouldn't pay the prices.
SPEAKER_03Tell a lie, there's one charity shop up there's not good. An animal one where they have a pound rail and I like that pound rail. You know why I like the pound rail? Because one, it's a pound, and two, it's not all the rubbish. I've got some really nice summer dresses off it the other day. So yeah, I like that one. Even though they did overcharge me by six pounds and I had to go back in and get a refund.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's naughty, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03Felt awful. I was the one stood there apologizing because I'd had to ask for a refund. I came out, didn't I? And I went, I felt so bad asking the charity shop for me money back.
SPEAKER_00Uh at Lisa said, I'd love to try live selling, but I'm not brave enough to go on camera. Well, you you could be you could be a faceless, you don't have to put your face on, depending on what kind of stuff you're selling. I I guess it's difficult if you're doing clothing and stuff, but some things, depending on what it is, you don't have to put your face on. Sandra says the Cornwall car boots start at 12 pm. It's brilliant. That's good. We have done the Cornwall ones, haven't we?
SPEAKER_03We've done a morning one and then gone over to the lunchtime ones.
SPEAKER_00Friend Bentos said in the long run, you're much better off paying the early entry. As with sales, as with sales, you don't look at one poor day in isolation, view the whole season of paying in early. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Chris says, I'm sure car boots are early as people in the day used to go to church at 10 or 11am.
SPEAKER_00Is that what it stems back to?
SPEAKER_03Potentially. And that's the other side of it. If you go do pay it, pay to get in early, you get home early.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, exactly. Yeah. I'm still waiting to hear back from Em's Den about whether they're accepting my challenge or not. Nudge nudge. Come on, come on, do it. Next time, video, next video. Silence says it all. I dare you. I dare you.
SPEAKER_03Lucy Lucy's gonna try Strawberry Fields in Bridlington this year. And she's a holiday.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you might see Demise Family that way. I'm sure they go that way. Right, we're on to the next one. Number seven on my list of points of unwritten car boot sale rules. Negotiating with kids. We've kind of touched on this before, but here's my rule. If you buy from or negotiate with a child, and negotiation really is dodgy ground already, always confirm it with the parent that it's okay before you shake on the deal, so to speak.
SPEAKER_03To be fair, the child negotiated with me.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And they often will do that. If they're used to going to car boot sales, they often will do it. But generally, if if a if I I just generally don't negotiate with kids, and most of the time I'll either accept the price or they'll price it way too high and I'll just say, okay, I'll keep looking, thanks. So but normally if I do negotiate with a child, which is not often, I will turn to the parent and say, Is this okay? Is two pounds okay for that? And I'll just confirm it. And I've done that on camera as well.
SPEAKER_03But you've also done you've done it, you have done it when it's been really low, like if they said they only want 50p. But that tabletop we went to in real, the kid was like it was like everything you asked was 50p. And you said to the guy, the dad, didn't you? You were like, is that alright? And he was like, Yeah, if you want to sell it for 50p, it's fine.
SPEAKER_00So you did clarify. Sometimes kids will say, Oh, 10p, and it's like, I'm not, I'm not gonna pay for anything at a boot sell for 10p. I'm telling you now. I will give somebody 50p or a pound because everyone's got to earn a bit of money, haven't they? And kids, especially, if it's 50p, maybe I'll give them a pound, depending on what it is.
SPEAKER_03I've come away with so much rubbish because kids sell, because I have to buy something. I make sure I find something on the stall if there's a kid selling behind even if I don't really want it.
SPEAKER_00Fred Andy Bentos says real car boots run by the same yeah, it's it's the same company. Seems five pounds and one pound. Yeah, it's exactly the same. Yeah, there's a they run a few, don't they, across the country. Peter Ray's late to the party. People who dive into people's boots wind me up. Where have you been, Peter? That was number one. That was number one. We're on number seven now. Come on, rewind. And we're at nine o'clock, so you better get a move on. I know, I know. Lucy said when I deal with kids, I do confirm it, and sometimes I give them a bit extra. That's nice. Em's Den, the boot sale we feature in that video, has paused their boot sale, so not on at the moment. None of the other boot sales we we go to have early birds, so we can't accept your challenge. Oh, well, a nonsense.
SPEAKER_03Excuses, excuses.
SPEAKER_00I've never heard such nonsense in all my life. Ross said, Yeah, I do give kids more money, and if there's a kid there selling cakes or something, oh yeah, cakes, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we've ended up with rank brews, we've ended up with minging. You've literally bought an ice cream and then he's seen like where it's come from, and he's walked away and then just thrown it away. He's like, I'm not eating that. You know, when the kid's going to be the ice cream out. But we still buy it.
SPEAKER_00You buy it to support them, but it doesn't mean you end up eating it.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00Jeff, oh, Jeff says, unwritten rules, I pay full price at my friends' businesses and never ask or accept a discount. That's good.
SPEAKER_03Does that mean I've got to pay full price for baggage? No, I'm thinking that. I'm very disappointed now.
SPEAKER_00I was gonna offer two dollars for a coffee instead of four.
SPEAKER_03I know. I quite happily accept a discount if they're offering it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, next one, number eight. We've we mentioned this before, somebody mentioned it, undercutting. An unwritten rule at a boot sale is if somebody has an item in their hand and they are agreeing a price with the seller, you should never ever butt in there and offer more or undercut or whatever. Never ever ever. Let them finish that deal. If it doesn't finish, it doesn't complete and it gets put down. Fair dues, go for it.
SPEAKER_03Goes back to the snooze you lose.
SPEAKER_00Snooze you lose, but also you do not butt into someone else's deal. Very naughty. That's a real big no-no, that. There you go. I've got nothing else to say on that. It's it is self-explanatory. You don't butt in on someone else's deal.
SPEAKER_03Right, so what's number nine?
SPEAKER_00Number nine. Oh, what have I put here? I've I've written the words too expensive down.
SPEAKER_03Don't tell them it's too expensive if they say a price, just so you're not interested.
SPEAKER_00Hang on, I've got m I've got more detailed notes on that one. Hang on.
SPEAKER_03And you should know me. I didn't know what we were talking about until I sat down.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. She ain't got a clue.
SPEAKER_03No.
SPEAKER_00I did ask Belle for her input, but didn't get it.
SPEAKER_03Belle's brain is functioning on a breathe only today. That's all it's it can do, make me breathe. So you're lucky I'm stuck you're lucky I'm sat here. Do you know something as well? I'm on a winning streak at the moment. When was the last time I had a Monday off?
SPEAKER_00Quite a while, to be fair.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. I'm doing well. Hold on. I'm doing well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I put too expensive down because I it was based on the fact of don't complain about someone's prices. And this was something that was mentioned earlier as well. It's like sellers have the right to put whatever price they want. And you can negotiate on that, you can barter, you can offer what you feel is the right price, but complaining about a price, walking away tutting that's too expensive, that's art for me, is a bit disrespectful to somebody who's selling. If it's too expensive for you or you're not willing to negotiate, off you go. So yeah, don't complain about prices, it's a bit of poor form, innit?
SPEAKER_03On our La Febay Live, I had a little bit of a piece to say to someone who kept complaining.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, you did, didn't you?
SPEAKER_03Someone kept putting in the chat about the the prices that Chris was asking. I mean, bearing in mind they were starting at a pound. Oh no, it wasn't, it was your premium items, wasn't it? It was your premium items, and he could this person put a few comments in about how ridiculous it was the prices that he was doing. And I did get to a point where I was just like, look, if you don't want to pay it, you don't want to pay it. That doesn't mean that you know these aren't good deals. You know, if if if if you don't want to pay it at half price, then just don't buy it. Stop complaining. And I bit me tongue, I bit me tongue at the point where I thought, but you're not gonna complain when he's selling stuff for a pound. You don't see you complaining then and telling us it's too cheap. And he never came back. Yeah, I just got a little bit like if you don't want to, if you don't want to buy it, don't buy it. You don't have to keep telling me it's too expensive. I bet if I bet if you'd have put it up for a tenor, you'd have had it.
SPEAKER_00No, you can see she's on she's on it, yeah. He proper annoyed you that one, didn't you?
SPEAKER_03He did, it did wind me up.
SPEAKER_00Ross says, Can I bring another rule in? Sellers who ask you what you'd pay and then get really angry and offended when you say, when you then say, I want to pay this. Why didn't they just tell you that price in the first place? Yeah, we've had that. We did touch we touched on that before. For when someone says make me an offer, it's the worst answer to how much is this ever, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03I don't even get into that. If somebody says make me an offer, I'll just go and give me a price, or I'll it's fine, I don't want it. I won't do it.
SPEAKER_00I don't think you'd phrase it like that though.
SPEAKER_03Well, no, but that that's normally what I say.
SPEAKER_00I'll be like, I don't do I don't I don't I don't do give me a prize because I don't I don't I would normally just say well it's your item you just tell me what you want or I'll say a pound and because a pound's pretty much the lowest I'll pay for something so it's like you know a pound and when they say no I say well clearly you do know what you want for it then yeah but yeah it's a good point that is one of my pet my pet peeves that just give me a price and Jeff says two dollars or less and don't haggle yeah it's kind of like similar sort of money isn't it a pound there's a few people up there that are saying about the undercutting that they definitely disagree with undercutting yeah I saw a few comments on those and should we do the last one thanks Sanjay Sandra says yes you're doing very well Belle I try to stay polite just now and again people annoy me I'll do number 10 my final one my final unwritten rule of the boot sales and that is bring coins and bring some change to the boot sale with you I'll tell you what I do when when I draw money out to take to a boot sale and I did it this week I actually sent Belle to get my money this week I and trusted it with my card god knows only what's been spent on it you sent me on a list of errands I did yeah I did so yeah when I go to the post office if you go to a post office counter to draw your money out like we have one at our post office here where I do my parcel drops they have a counter there so I go in and I draw money from the counter and I'll say can I take two hundred can I have 200 out please and can I have a bag of pound coins and a bag of 50 ps in the 200 so that would be 170 pounds in notes 20 pound in pound coins and 10 pounds in 50ps and that's my boot sale money for the next day or whatever amount I decide to draw out. She knew what I wanted before I even asked for it. What when I I went to get your money and I was like I was like oh can I draw some money out and I was like always ask me to get and she went and she told me what it was so I was like it's good Joe you know yeah yeah they're dead good in there at all no they're dead good in there they're they can give you the money in in whatever denominations really unless they're really short on cash they should be able to give you whatever denominations you want. Georgie we sell said has anyone's eBay sale has been slow since Thursday um you had a bit of a slow day I've had a slow day today I think I've just seen a sale pop up while we've been live but that's only two sales today probably about 70 eight quid so far today but it's it's been yeah on and off I mean my eBay the eBay live that we did this last week has popped up my numbers this week so I'm okay but um yeah it's it's been not too bad I would say I think the the good weather's helped me with my jerseys this week I've sold a lot of like basketball vests and jerseys they always do welcome this time of year.
SPEAKER_03Yeah Rachel says it annoys her when you say 50p and they offer you 20p oh no I don't think sell anything less than 50p I don't think I've ever offered anybody 20p for something never I would never do it ridiculous Bill Higginson someone mentioned coins uh Jeff says in negotiations first person to mention a price is in a weaker position according to the smart educated people okay top tip if you need change for a car boot go and do a very small grocery shop and use the self-service machine they're good at getting change that's very true that's a good idea stick your note in and then change comes out or just go to your post office counter and just get exactly what denominations you want.
SPEAKER_00Do it when it's quiet won't do when it's don't do when it's busy yeah no good idea or if you also live in a seaside town like we do here in Rill we could in theory go to one of the one of the one of the coin changing machines in the in the arcades we could an arcade near you you can go to a coin machine sometimes cash machines run short of money even some small post offices do. Yeah obviously if they've not got it they've not got it have they Richard suggest definitely helps but was up fairly early this morning processing what I bought Jeff says is a five pound note that the smallest paper currency yes it is yeah I found a one pound coin at the flea market you did you sent us a picture of that how bizarre we used to have one pound notes as well Jeff many many many many many years ago it goes back to 80s maybe early 90s yeah one pound notes we used to have so if you find one of those they're interesting to keep I don't think they're worth loads of money but I've I've sometimes seen the odd one pound note hanging about on boot sales and stuff Rich has has been very slow today on the two sorts of two for me as well Richard yeah actually I've had two eBay and one vintage so that's three sales there you go Emston says they've done that before they've gone to the arcade to change a 20 and 10 Bob notes that's way before our time that's going back to the 50s we used to have one pound notes here I think we still have one pound notes in Scotland yeah I think do they still have one pound notes in Scotland potentially Post office is good for change also I save it up in the week post office I always do it.
SPEAKER_03Chris is my personal piggy bank so whenever I need cash I just go to him yeah I can't remember the last time I drew cash out of the cash machine that's why I'm always broke no he forgets to send me the money back conveniently I don't forget to send it you sometimes it has a bit of a delay in getting from me to you but it always comes back yeah that's what that's that's what she leads me to believe oh do you know what I wanted to show people my present that you got my what me gift that you bought me back from the thing it's from the car boot this week go get it then if you want it. This is right considering Chris Moans about me being there buying Christmas items throughout the year.
SPEAKER_00Listen I do things to make you happy not me.
SPEAKER_03Oh hang on I've got to dodge it ouch ouch ouch look what you came back with but this is so cool.
SPEAKER_00You're gonna have to audio describe this one better.
SPEAKER_03I know it's not like gonna be that difficult. Look at this guy he is an Irish nutcracker and it says good luck on it.
SPEAKER_00It does say and I bought it especially because she's starting a new job and she's about to go through some medical procedures soon.
SPEAKER_03A radiotherapy and hormone treatment good luck but I need it I have over the last few years gained a nutcracker fetish and started collecting them at Christmas and I am of Irish descendant. So how cool is he? He's amazing it's a bit it's a bit um Tam and Belle aren't in the chat because she loves the nutcrackers I've not seen Tom and Bell for a bit no no I think they came off social media did they? Yeah I think they come off I had to message him and see how they're getting he's brilliant though isn't he and I've never seen anything like him before M's Den said never seen an Irish nutcracker before normally when you find them they're missing the scepters as well so yeah love him but there you go Chris is encouraging my Christmas buying even when I'm not if it makes you happy I'm happy he did make me happy he made me very happy he's gonna go upstairs with the rest of them ready for Christmas. That was four pounds that four squid did you did you buy her did they or did they want four squid for it?
SPEAKER_00I think it was just four pounds.
SPEAKER_03But we know that that's good money because it's fair price I think I've paid full price for some nutcrackers and because we bought some back from Poland didn't we and some of them over there were like£2030.
SPEAKER_00Sandra says I saw you buy a Harry Potter large cardboard figure for Bell I know yeah I'm always thinking about her with different things you know that big cardboard cutout what was I gonna do with that though?
SPEAKER_03Well look at it put it in the corner of the room and pretend that Harry Potter's uh some things are not always fully appreciated that he buys and that would have been one of them do you have any money with King Charles picture on it yet? I personally haven't seen anything.
SPEAKER_00I don't think I've I don't I've not looked really but I don't I don't use cash very often so Belle are you the queen she never carried cash around either I am the queen yes Jeff says do the banks gradually take the old notes out of six yeah they just gradually take them out and then they'll give a date when a note is no longer you know tender but you can always hand in old currency to a bank in exchange for money or you can pay it into your account.
SPEAKER_03In recent years I don't know if you're aware but in recent years we've just moved from paper money to plastic money so that's been the last process that we did wasn't it so have we gone past the point now where they won't accept the paper notes you can't you can't use them to buy stuff but you can take them to the bank and get them exchanged for new ones.
SPEAKER_00The banks will always accept the old currency.
SPEAKER_03When I was working in my first role with Devon and Cornwall Police I used to deal with C's cash so that was a big thing because there was a lot of criminals out there that had large quantities of paper money that we were having to send off to get exchanged and a lot of fake notes as well in that right we're ready for the duck race I think we've exhausted the subject but thank you everybody for taking part in the unwritten rules of the car boots I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for coming up with your own little rules as well hi Debs Debs has joined us hi Debs hi Deborah Sardine and Helen's leaving us thanks for joining us okay thanks Helen see you later oh there you go self-service machines still accept Scottish money I have had this problem because I got an auntie that lives in Scotland and she used to give us money like for birthdays and stuff but she does it by check now because I hate trying to use money.
SPEAKER_00It's just it's a lack of training isn't it staff training that you're allowed to accept I think people panic when they see it and yeah yeah they just don't know what it is so she now she sends us checks in the post but do you know that if you if you go to and we'll have to watch this when we go to Gibraltar if you get given Gibraltar pounds you can spend them in Gibraltar obviously but you can't spend Gibraltar pounds even though it's in the UK even though it's a British no you can't spend it it's not it's not it's not spendable it's not legal tender or whatever. You can't spend it so you've got to make sure if you ever go to Gibraltar that you don't come out with Gibraltar pounds or whatever Gibraltar currency. They do slip it in now and again plastic just really stiff notes.
SPEAKER_03No it's like a weird the the the designs are supposed to be harder to fake and they don't rip they last long is like a very thin plasticky sort of polym polymer or something yeah something weird but that you're not supposed to be able to rip them because that was a big thing wasn't it with paper notes you'd be try you'd be like trying to hand in paper notes with cellotape all over them.
SPEAKER_00I've celloted notes before oh yeah we've all celloted them waterproof as well now yeah not that I've ever tried washing one to find out should be though shouldn't they this will be the 206th duck race 206 ducks not 206 ducks 206 races. Right we're ready for this let me just get ready for the duck race and just make sure all our ducks are in a row we've got a lack of ducks tonight guys so you've got a very very fair chance of of winning so do you want to let people know how they can enter the duck race for next time because we seem to be dwindling in duck entrance.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't looking at the nutcracker's butt I was trying to see if he had a we're definitely getting less and less and could the duck race could fizzle out if we don't if we don't get people commenting. Yeah so for anybody that's new watching or listening to us to enter the duck race for next week once this show is over and done with and we've said goodnight go back onto the video and in the comment section underneath leave a comment anything you wish per preferably something nice and that will automatically enter you into next week's duck race and also potentially get picked out of the comment of the week if you're still doing that.
SPEAKER_00Yes potentially but there's no comment of the week tonight.
SPEAKER_03Oh okay did you forget no uh it's going to be Chris's final thought tonight that's deep based on today's that's deep conversation so yeah so if you want to be in for a chance to win a little prize do we know what the prize is tonight or is it another mystery mystery prize yeah just a little a little cheeky prize for free yeah for free free I'm definitely going to have to clip that and use it I'm gonna clip it okay let's share the screen ready for the duck race we're not ready yet we're not ready oh okay for yourself here we go right so Belle is commentating tonight because I did it last week thank you very much so uh are we ready for freeze face and what can I do okay you ready all quiet best two minutes of your life this'll ever be and we are off straight away there's a Batman duck up at the top I can't actually see whose name it is uh oh oh oh no can't see who it is so I'll go down to the bottom where I can read the name so Helen Graham is up at the front of the pack along with Alcnax Peter Ray Linlyn Deborah Sardine AMP J. Oh it was Angel Delight who was dressed as the Batman duck but leading the pack at the moment is Lynnlyn Jeffries just behind her is Tiny Cloud and Chris Tyler. Alknax is down well oh he's actually heading in the wrong direction though I can see Frey Andy Bentos trying to push the way up into the front of the pack along with the nice family and Jeff Davis Batman's advanced I have no idea where Batman's gone nothing major just peak to the front there along with Mark Hill and Dorothy Watkins is the unicorn duck and Frey Andy Bentos is holding the front of the pack with Cloud9 allotment and Ensden Ensden have come up to the front and nothing major is just behind them. Jeff Davis is leading the pack with his little green heart duck with a minute to go Lisa is trying to see if there's anything interesting going on there and speedfoot flips is death dressed as Donald Trump Mark Hill is still there as a naked duck and carboot Keith is just above him. Oh Angel Delight even though she went to the back is trying to push her way back to the front as a Batman and we're down to the last 30 seconds with Alknax leading the pack um who else is down there? Jeffy's still up at the front but whether we can hold it now for the last 20 seconds AMP J. Oh AMPJ I was going to say he's speeding off but I think everybody's just going in the wrong direction it is literally AMP J and Phil Higginson in the last eight seconds but it could be anybody's race is someone going to come flying from the back it is I think it's gonna be Frey Andy Bentos is it it is it's well done Frey Bentos you are a winner.
SPEAKER_00Mystery prize coming in the post well done to you is Frey Andy Bentos here we is here we have been in yeah I'm pretty sure he's in Richard forgot to enter snooze you lose that's it well everyone comments something nice you can comment whatever you like.
SPEAKER_03No he means just put something nice. Oh okay well yeah you can still put that I don't mind if you make that face it'll stay that way oh Chris took there did you know some banks are going to replace debit cards with wood metal so a wood or metal card instead of a plastic one.
SPEAKER_00I mean I guess you could put it but it's all about the chip isn't it's there's nothing else really that matters is that like Jerry Springer final thought where you ask why people just can't all get along and reunite and it's straight oh it could be it could be you'll have to wait and see Brandy Ban says it's his first win woohoo we've got a new winner first win well awesome I'm sure Chris will find you something interesting to send I will and I'll send you some of my favourite sweeties from my local shop and they've been going out to all the winners recently I'm not gonna do it forever because it's costing me£130 every time so I will say as it's your first one I'll send you some of my favourite sweets at the moment even though I can't eat any because I'm on a diet and that's why you're finding them for everybody else yeah because it makes me feel like I'm actually like getting sweets but then not eating.
SPEAKER_03To be fair you did really well I I asked you if you wanted a treat the other day and he did that thing where I was on the phone I was like sending him text messages going I was sending a text message do you want a treat and he sent me one back saying yeah just grab me something I said like what and he was like you choose so I did I chose his favourites I chose squashes and I came home and he shouted at me and told me he didn't want squashes why am I buying him sweets and then he didn't eat them he put them in the cupboard which I thought okay okay we're improved but I did eat them the day on the day after I couldn't leave them there.
SPEAKER_00I can't keep looking at squashes in the cupboard what did we exchange instead of because I'd bought popcorn as well we had we had dark chocolate covered of fruit grapes and bananas covered in 85% well it was more than 85% because we added some hundred percent cacao in that as well so it was about 90% chocolate dark chocolate. They were quite nice as well on grapes bananas I quite like the banana covered ones we put them in the freezer for 10 minutes and it was so it was nice. Yeah but you actually swapped your sweets for fruit I know and you don't eat fruit not often so there we go cover it in chocolate is a different matter Jeff says pear drops. Oh Jeff you'll have to have a think right is have a think if there's anything that you'd like us to bring to America when we come later in the year loading our case that we can bring with you for you and Tracy like have a think if there's anything you'd like to try you know like British stuff like foods and treats if there's anything you thought I I would really like to try that have a think and we will bring you a goodie bag some goodies okay and and we don't have to post it like normal. Phil said what's your favourite squashy flavour I'll eat any squash I was about to say any I'll avoid the sour ones because I'm not a big sour fan but I will eat them still but you the ones I bought you the other day were Cherry cola flavors.
SPEAKER_03Cherry cola they were okay.
SPEAKER_00I would probably say bubblegum is my favourite anything blue.
SPEAKER_03I like bubblegum flavours pear drops as long as it's not cabrasville or El Revenza's got a bee in their bonnet about cabras changing their ingredients. Oh Jeff still wants pear drops wine gums can be confused the Americans I think I may have sent Jeff some wine gums once already may have taken some peas pudding where'd channel them come from suddenly I know yeah it came out I know I didn't know you missed all the fun isn't it channel then that's got like sore butts and thighs at the moment pretty much well done well done with that I was I I literally got your Instagram up and I went oh my god is he still doing squats well done I'm impressed makes my makes my legs hurt just watching you okay guys well are we calling it a night go for it okay I think we might do hey oh should we call it Hayden's final thought I think we might do Hayden's final thought because then that leaves it open for either Bella or me to do it.
SPEAKER_00Oh this is very tight drags me in uh yeah I think we might start doing Hayden's final thought for the end of the show rather than comment of the week I don't know we'll maybe we'll mix it up and do different ones you cover your mic up there. Oh it's fine okay right let's call it a day just give me a minute for Hayden's final thought and then we'll we'll be off I've written it down So, here we go, guys.
