On this evening's podcast, it's an FAQ for all questions, anything reselling, bring it to the table and we'll talk about it in tonight's show. Get your thinking caps on, guys. My name's Chris, aka Carboot Chris, and I'm a full-time UK online reseller. I operate mainly on eBay but also on vintage and whatnot. I'm bringing a regular podcast all about reselling with a bit of fun thrown in too. Hopefully to keep you company to entertain you and maybe a little bit of education. Who knows? Welcome to the Everything Reselling Podcast. Good evening, everybody. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm on my own this evening, unfortunately. Bell's a bit wiped out over the last few days, so she's having the evening off. So she's left me on my own. For those new here, I'm Carboot Chris. I'm a full-time reseller. I buy and sell things. I flip them online for a profit, and that's what I do to make a living, to pay the mortgage, to pay the bills, everything. And I've been doing this since 2015. I started as a part-time reseller, just as a side hustle, earning a bit on the side to pay for holidays. And then 2019, I took the plunge and went full-time. And I've been doing it ever since, all the way through COVID, before COVID was a thing, before we ever heard of it. And uh then right up until this very moment now, I've been a full-time reseller and I'm still doing it, still going, still hanging in there. But yeah, that's me, and welcome to everybody in the live chat here on YouTube. I appreciate your being here. And this evening's chat is going to be a kind of open floor for all questions, an FAQ. And we do this now and again on the channel because we're we're pretty much live every week. We've been doing this for years and years now, literally years. And now and again, you just run out of topics to talk about. You've kind of exhausted things. So at that point, we like to just throw it out to you guys. You bring in your questions, you bring in your comments and your troubles, things that aren't working, things that are working, bring it to the table. Let's talk about it. If you're new and you've got any questions, bring it to the table. If I can't answer it, somebody in the chat will. So, yeah, now and again we do the FAQs and we're doing one for this podcast this evening. For everybody who's listening on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Alexa and all that business, welcome. Thank you so much for listening. I really do appreciate it. And don't forget to hit that download button, and then all the podcasts will get served straight up to your phone. You'll get a notification when the new one comes out. But yes, that is a big intro. So, what I need to do first is say hello to as many people as possible in the live chat here on YouTube in just one minute, and we're gonna do that to the sound of the music, and when the music runs out, that is our minute up. So let's just tear it up. I'm on my own, so I've got to do everything myself. Here we go, and we're off. Let's see who we've got in. We've got Jeff, Carolina Claus, random phantom buyer. This could be all the same person. Casper packet boy and the wind pilot, agent 24, Elaventa Ross, Lucy's Carboot Loot, Paul Hillman, Elra. Oh, I said Alreventa, Kavalis, Helen Graham, Karen Evans. Welcome to you. Carol Harris, Sharon Island, uh Lizzie Scotty's in the house, Kevin Hawthorn all the way from Florida. A big shout out to Florida. Uh Fluffy the Muffin, Deborah Sardine, Phil Higginson, Pumpkin Picker, Lisa's in, Malvern Dude Reselling. Is that a new name? Welcome to you. If that's a new name, please feel free if you are new here. Feel free to join the chat. We are nice people in general. Uh Lin Lynn's in, Limelight Vincey, Vinti, Demise Family. Good video this weekend from Demise. Is that it already? A minute's gone. The music's finished. Let's let's carry on quickly. John Parker, Andrew Milburn, Chris Tyler, Jamie Mack on Facebook, Channel Nem. There we go. That's everyone. Welcome to all of you. I've got a live oh no that's that could play out whilst we're on air. So if you want to learn a bit more about that, I will talk to you in just a second. So let's before we get going, let's just go back through the chat because there was a couple of comments. Elraventor Ross is gonna kick us off here. And Ross says, What is everyone's percentage of sales per platform? Recently, mine has been 70% vintage, 29% eBay, 1% other. Really interested in everyone's breakdown, as vintage reliance is a big risk. I guess being reliant on any one particular platform is is risky altogether, isn't it? It's always a good idea to have at least two, and at least you've got that. What's mine? I I can only talk for me. So if anybody else wants to join in with this question from Ross, uh, what's your percentages? I think mine is let me just think of the numbers. Mine's probably the opposite way round, Ross, but mine's leaning towards eBay. I'm probably it's probably a bigger sway towards eBay as well. I'd probably say mine's 85% eBay, 15% vintage, something like that. The other, like private sales, probably accounts for less than 1%. It's a very small amount. So I'll probably just go with 85-15 to eBay. That's mine. But it is interesting to hear what people. I'm interested to hear Ross. You you're heavy vintage. That does surprise me. Is anybody else like heavier towards vintage? Let's see what else we got. Ross also follows up with I need to make the vinted eBay split a lot more balanced, ideally, more eBay if the fees are more, but you're not walking a tightrope. Yeah, that's true. That is true. Vinted, very unpredictable, isn't it? You get something wrong. I mean, I know eBay can be tough, but at least, at least if something happens on eBay, you can speak to somebody and try and resolve it most of the time. Something happens on vintage, like you're lucky you can get hold of a bot. You know what I mean? Uh Malvern Dude Reselling. Welcome to you. And hi Chris. I'm new to reselling. When pricing on eBay, do you always follow the guide price or do you go with your own price higher or lower? Been following on YouTube and podcasts for some time. Oh, thank you so much for following, however, you've been watching or listening. But I don't follow eBay's guide price at all. Like, are you talking about like the the guide that eBay sometimes tells you to, or is that on vintage that they're they give you a guide price? I don't follow any guide really. I will do a bit of research. I'll I'll have a look at solds and listed prices and then I'll price accordingly. I normally go slightly higher than the average, and then I'll deal with offers and my my items get reduced in price on a monthly basis, pretty much after two months of being listed. It's it's reduced on a regular basis until they sell. So yeah, I don't really go on any guide price, but I will look at solds and listeds and go off that. I love going to Comic Cons, but I always don't know. I just seem to there's not much up here in North Wales. There is one in North Wales, but like I always seem to like miss the dates and stuff, or I'm busy. Have you forgotten to put your trousers on? Yeah, but I'm closer up today because Belle's not here, so I could come a bit closer. You know, it is annoying when when you wear glasses. Look at this. I'm just constantly getting this glare on my glasses. If you're listening, it doesn't matter, but for those of you watching, like, how do I how can I get rid of that? It's I have to go like this. I have to put my head down to avoid the glare. Oh, you me you can almost see what I'm looking at. It's pretty annoying that. Debs says, uh, what's this? Chris, has anyone ever said thank you to you and our bell for giving up your precious time no matter how you are feeling on a Monday night? Oh, thank you, Debs. That's very kind of you. You're the first person to ever say thank you. No, you're not. You're not, but I appreciate it, and people do say thank you. We enjoy doing it anyway. I enjoy doing it. We're always here on a Monday night. We have been for bloody years. Is somebody somebody tell me when we first went? It must have been probably a similar time to going full time. Like, must be like we must have been doing lives on a Monday for five, six, seven years, something like that. We've we've literally been, we're always here. If you've got now better to do on a Monday, come join us here on on YouTube, or you can listen to us on on Spotify and Apple Music now as we do put our audio onto there as well. Sharon Island says, My sales are approximately 80% vintage and 20% eBay. Wow. What what did you guys do before vintage was as big as it is now? Were you all eBay? I assume you were. Evening to Ems Den and Oliver Ian as well. Lucy's car boot loot said we got back to our car boot sale on Sunday. Oh, that's good. You're back at the boot sales. You didn't miss much then. Mum can now drive after six weeks. Knee replacement did pretty well. Quality over quantity. The place was busy. That's good. Good to be back out. No more FOMO anymore. Andrew Milburn says 95% eBay and 5% vintage. That's a big swing, isn't it? It's nearly as mine, mine's nearly as big as yours. That's not what she said. Somebody's gonna clip that, aren't they? I know it. I just know it. I wonder what people's percentages are when they break down uh when they break down eBay and eBay live as well. Yeah. It's difficult to break that down, channel then, because when you do eBay and eBay live, it all gets lumped into eBay. So all your eBay sales just become one lot of sales. So it's very hard unless you you yourself track your eBay live sales and then deduct them from your weekly payout or whatever, then you can work it out. But yeah, I wish eBay would separate them, to be honest with you, because I would prefer to see it separated. Tap peddler Derek says mine is definitely eBay, but I like to have a few other platforms on the go. But I do believe if you put more effort into anything, you will get results. Good point, yeah. Sometimes, as well, Derek, like what what you were saying there, sometimes on the flip side, if you spread yourself too thinly, your main your main breadwinner suffers, doesn't it? As well, so it's a it's a real fine balancing act to figure out where to sit, where the sweet spot is where you get the best of both worlds, but without losing out on like you know, your main one. Like if you spend too much time on vintage and then your eBay starts suffering, you know what I mean? Ah it's a tough one, isn't it? Uh Lisa said hers is the same as mine, so sort of 85-15. Pumpkin pickers 50-50 and a tiny, tiny percent on depop. Pumpkin picker, if you're if you're only at 0.1% on depop, do you ever ask yourself if it's worth the effort? Whether you're better off just like focusing that bit of time on the other two? I guess you've got to ask that question to yourself, haven't you? I would be. Uh let's see. eBay's guide price can be all over the place. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, yeah. Secret Carpet, I'm 100% eBay. Don't like vintage customer service. No one does. Oliver Ian said, Who's experienced the new postage option relay? I've seen it, Steve, but I don't think we have one near us. We have had a few with vintage sales, and there's literally one shop near us that takes them. They ran out of labels, so haven't been able to accept them. Stupid, isn't it? I don't even know what that one is. I don't think we have any I don't think we have any relay near us at all. So I just have I just have every royal mail and DPD turned on. Everything else I have turned off, including in-post lockers. I have those turned off as well, because they got my tits. Excuse the language. Ross said last night I had a vintage. We're reviewing your account freeze. It got unlocked this morning. No explanation why, no ban. Ah, Ross, so this is why you're considering which eggs you've got in which basket. That was a bit of a bit of a culture shock or a shock to the system that that you could be locked out of 79% of your sales. I understand now. Let's see what else we got in the chat here. Thank you for all your questions and things for the FAQ. It's really interesting. Let's see what else we've got here. Demise Family. I hate not being able to bolt label print on vintage. Yeah, it's it's pants, isn't it? Too too far long today, printing them all one by took far too long today. Sorry, I couldn't read it properly. But needs to be a pro feature. And you know what else is ridiculous? And I keep saying it. Why the hell can't you search your own store? It drives me nuts, right? Such a simple thing. Why can you why do you not have two things on your on your vintage store? On everybody's store, you should be able to search the store and and sort and filter it. So sort it into oldest, newest, highest price, lowest price. Just those four would be sufficient. Highest, lowest, newest, whatever, oldest. Right? If you could filter the store or put it in order of those, that would help you do your see what stuff has been on there the longest and do your price changes. And to be able to search the store, if you sell something elsewhere and you've got to take it down, you can search your store a lot easier. These are such simple things for a selling platform. I can't believe like you can't do it. Vintage's commitment to being a serious platform, it really sometimes I think they've got a there's a lot to be desired there from Vintage. Very, very simple features missing. Like, if you go to any shopping website, you can sort a s you can sort high, low, new, old, and you can search. On vintage, you can't. It's crap. It really annoys me. Such simple features would make such a huge difference to the experience of both selling and buying on the platform. I just don't understand why they don't sort that out. It cannot be that hard, can it, to put us put to put those on the on the pages. It's surely it's just a little bit of like code. Probably Chat GPT could bloody sort it out for them. Deborah Sardine says, apart from reselling adventures at fairs now and again, I'm actually a hairdresser by trade. I'd rather sell stuff than cut hair. Really? Oh wow. Hairdresser. But you'd still rather sell stuff. Helen Graham's 100% eBay. Only sells private stuff on vintage. Cyril Smith says, uh oh, sorry, it just knocked the camera a bit. Sorry. Cyril Smith says, I have been restricted for listing on vintage because I accidentally put on a picture that I didn't take of the item I listed. Yeah. I've had a restriction for a duplicate listing, which I accidentally put back up with the same pictures and stuff. So it's very, very stupid. It really is. Just check your playlist for reseller world live. It says there are 327 videos, so that's just over six years of lives at the very, very least. Yeah, I think it's even more than that channel then because I'm not sure it started off life as that. So it might be on the early ones, might have been different. Thanks for checking though. Let's have a look. Married to reselling. Has anyone noticed that auctions no longer show in eBay's for sale listings, sold listings since eBay Live? I've s uh searches. I've seen auctions on solds. Has anyone noticed that auctions no longer show in eBay's for sale? Oh, I've seen I've seen auctions on sold listings, yeah? Because I was doing some searching today on some games and stuff that I was selling, and and there was auction results there. So I'm not sure if that's what you mean. Tat pedal untix relay, yeah. Exactly. Demise Family said, only just found out that pro sellers don't have the automatic bundle prices anymore. Yeah, they don't. That's very annoying. Yeah, it's not there. What you can do, right? You buyers can still bundle, uh, but it's not automatic. So they can create a bundle and then they can make you an offer their own price on the bundle, but you you can't do the 5, 10, 15, 20% automatic thing anymore. Yeah, it's really silly, isn't it? But yeah, you can st buyers can still bundle and they can still make you an offer on that bundle. Impost is easy for Oliver Ian, literally down the road. Yeah, I've got one near us, it Steve, but it's very, very annoying. Sometimes I get there. I've got the app, right? So you can see if there's space in the lockers. Sometimes I get there and the bloody things don't work, it's out of order. So then I have to drive to somewhere else. And we've got another set actually, like Aldi just up the road. I've got two about an equal distance from me. So that that might help in future. But it's still I still find them a bit annoying, to be honest with you. Pumpkin Picker said it doesn't take any extra time. They use cross lists, so click of a button. Oh, that's fine then if it don't take you any extra time. That was that was an answer to the depop 0.1% thing, by the way. Johnny 40 courts is going all in on eBay. Looking forward to giving Amazon the finger soon. I'm gonna list the stock on eBay. Oh, nice one. Yep. I gave Amazon the finger ages ago. Lizzie Scotty said, got a new sealed Lego set delivered from Vintage today. It was wrapped in two Asda carry bags. Sounds about right. Turned inside out. Just so that you couldn't tell that they were as the bags. Lego set was okay. I laughed. Yeah. I laugh when the posty handed it. It's so typical of a vintage purchase, isn't it? Alk Nass says I tried vintage for about a year because my eBay sales had deteriorated. Last month I decided to close my account as I had so few sales and it wasn't worth the effort for me. Clearly, it works for I assume that means some at the end. Yeah. I guess it depends what you're selling and what you're selling it for, I guess. Yeah. I mean, did you not decide think to keep your vintage account open for purchasing? I buy a lot of stuff on vintage, to be honest with you. Probably buy more on vintage these days as a buyer, even for myself. Probably buy more on vintage than I do on eBay now. I still buy a lot on eBay, but I buy more on vintage, I would say. Klas says, just had my first bad experience on whatnot. Buyer I bought off before. No item sent, no reply to message. Had to wait two weeks for them to refund. Hope the seller is okay. I mean, yeah, if you've bought from them before, class, I guess maybe something has drastically gone wrong. So hopefully they're okay. It doesn't sound like normal behaviour, does it, from a regular seller? Life in the first lane. Finding vintage sellers and making the most of the poor customer services. Some of our recent transactions as buyers have been awful. Sellers taking the mick and vintage aren't interested. Yeah, you know what? I think I think some do actually know that they're gonna be like they're gonna get their money or whatever. They know like the rules of the box now. Because everyone knows a certain set of circumstances, don't they, with vintage? Where you'll either definitely get refunded or you definitely won't get refunded, you know what I mean? So I think people are realizing these rules and sort of making things work in their favour. Let's have a look through the chit chat here. Just use a drop shop instead of lockers, Chris. Yeah, there isn't really one, there isn't really a shop near near enough for me to bother. My local shop don't do in post at all, they do every single other one, but not in post. So it's just not as convenient for me. I I get it, I get it. It is a convenient service, but it's just not just doesn't work for me. And I took it off my vintage postage, and it made no blind, didn't make a blind bit of difference. I still got roughly the same number of sales, people were still buying, you know, it didn't really seem to make any odds, so it was a win for me, really. Uh let's carry on checking. Married to reselling update. Update on the previous. It shows some sellers, not others. I can see monumentals, but not yours. Okay. If that's what you're looking at, other than eBay Live. I don't sell up by auction. Limelight says, Do you think Whatnot will disappear in the UK now that eBay Live is here? Probably not, to be honest, Limelight. No, I think there's there's room for both. Whatnot are quite well positioned, aren't they? I still think they're doing quite well. They're a different kind of live selling, although it's very similar, the whole way to sell and stuff, but I feel like they've got the they're going about it in a different way. It it is a different kind of platform, and it I think it's got a different kind of audience. There's obviously going to be some crossover there, but I don't I definitely think that there's room for both. Yours can't be seen. Oh, that's weird. Wonder why. Wonder why. I don't know the answer to that. Yeah, I'm not sure. Lisa says the big sellers are on both. Yeah, on whatnot, and eBay live, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. Except for those that have deals or contracts with either of them, then they can't, can they? Uh, because there will be some people like that. I'm gonna talk to you about an oh no, because I'm sure you've been waiting for this one, right? We're gonna deal, we might have to deal with this oh no live as the show goes on, depending if I get an answer. So let's just line this up. Here we go. Oh no. Okay, so I had the dreaded situation just a few minutes before we came on air, where I've sold something on eBay. Here's a situation, you know what's coming, don't you? I sold a game on eBay this afternoon, and it was one of those situations where I accepted an offer and it went down as sold, so the item went off sale, but they they hadn't yet paid for it. Now, in that situation, if I have something cross-listed, I don't take it down until they've paid for it, and I've never up until today had an issue. But today, in between the person on eBay buying it and paying for it, somebody else bought the bloody game on vintage. Oh, so now I sent a message just before we came on air to the eBay buyer and I said, Look, if you if you don't want this item, just let me know and I'll cancel it, no problem. I was hoping he was gonna say, Yeah, please cancel, and then I could take the vintage sale. But he said, Oh, yeah, I do want it, and I'll go and pay now. So I I would always give eBay priority in this situation. So eBay was first anyway, the sale came first with them. So he's paid for it on eBay, and now I've had to message the buyer on vintage, and this is what I put on the message. I've put, I've just been honest, I've not made up some bullshit. I just put hi, thanks for the purchase, but I'm really sorry I will have to cancel. The game sold elsewhere just after 4 pm, and I've been out this evening. I did tell a little porky there. I've been out this evening, so just catching up on sales. Very, very sorry. If there's anything else you would like from my store, I'm happy to offer an even better discount as an apology. Is it okay if I can cancel? And I put I asked them the question, please can I cancel Chris at the end? So I'm hoping they come back and they are understanding. If not, I'm going to have to cancel it anyway, but I'm hoping to do it with cooperation rather than just cancel and not say anything. So, yeah, I'm hoping so. Because I went on I went to see what the cancel options were. Now, if you cancel order and say you sold it elsewhere, or you give some other reason, then you end up with an automatic one-star rating. And I don't really want that, but if you can use the reason agreed with buyer, and I think that may be the only one, I would need to check if there's any others that I can use. But I think agreed with buyer would be the best option because then that will not give me a one-star review. So that's what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping they're going to be very understanding. I was honest and upfront, apart from I did tell a little bit of a I'm out on all evening kind of thing. But other than that, I did say it had sold elsewhere, and um, they haven't seen it. So you know how you can see if they've seen the message yet, they haven't seen it yet. So we might get a response during this show, and if we get a response, I'll read it out and we'll see where we go from there. So, yeah, a bit of a pain in the backside. It's the first time, it's the first time I've ever had that crossover, and it was unlucky because if the eBay buyer at four o'clock would have just purchased and paid straight away, that would have gone off vintage straight away. I'd have taken that down, and this whole situation wouldn't have happened. It's just for the fact that because it was involving an offer on eBay, they didn't pay straight away, it went and sat in unsold for a couple of hours, and during that period, some bugger bought it on vintage. Oh, so there you go. That's my oh no, and if we can get a live response, I'll bring it to you as soon as we get an answer. Let's go back to the chat. Clas says, we went to a warehouse place in D side today, got some kids Nike Air Jordan jackets new for$9.99, and some new La Crusoe for$4.99 to$19.99. Hopefully it sells. Sounds like good items. La Crusoe always does well, doesn't it? Kids Nike Air Jordan jackets sound like they would do well. I I would pick them up at that price, I guess. So good luck with those. Life in the first lane. I was on whatnot the other day and then jumped over to eBay Live. There's sellers or accounts running on both at the same time. Ooh. So, how can you do that? Like with a different person running it, you wouldn't be able to do the exact same show. It wouldn't be possible. But with two different presenters like selling different stuff, is that what you mean? Demise, I assume your live sales would need to be clear enough what they are to be comparable sale, and that could be why. Possible. Yeah. I wonder why mine don't appear in in search results. Maybe they're not meant to. Maybe eBay live sales are not meant to appear in sold. Because I only have that placeholder item on screen, so that would really be no use to anybody in a sold listing. Whereas maybe if you list an item, a specific item on an eBay live and sell it, then maybe that appears. I don't know. Vinted will give you negative for cancel. Yeah, depending on what reason you pick, Lisa. I'm hoping to be able to choose buyer agreed, and then you don't get a negative. It depends which one. I'm gonna I'm gonna find out which of those answers will definitely give me a negative and try not to pick one. What a rock and a hard place. I know, Deborah. Yeah, I know. Life in the first line. I didn't think you sold anything other than tops on vintage. Yeah, I've I'm expanding in the last few weeks. I've been I currently sell jerseys on vintage. I also sell games now on vintage, which have been doing really well actually. You know, PS5, PS4, DS, 3DS, that kind of stuff. So I've been selling, I've been cross-listing those. And oh I thought I had a reply then. No, I didn't. And what else am I cross-listing? Footwear, trainers, shoes, stuff like that. So yeah, those three categories now. I'm slowly moving my entire eBay onto it, but I'm doing it in categories so that I can keep track of what should be on there and what shouldn't. Married to reselling, in that circumstance, we always say we don't wish to inconvenience you any further. So no no need to reply if you wish to cancel. Oh, that's that's a cheeky one, innit? I like it though. I like it. Making the assumption that it's okay, that it that you're in agreement. It could be the same person buying the game. I don't think so because they'd paid, they'd already they'd paid on vintage, and then when I messaged them on eBay, they immediately went and made payments. So they wouldn't do that if they'd already paid on vintage. So I don't think it's the same person. It did cross my mind that it could be that that they were looking for which deal was the best for them for like postage and stuff, because it actually sold for the same price bar one penny. So no, it's not the same person though. Jordi reseller said I was all I would always cancel the vintage sale as eBay. You get a ding on the account. Yeah, eBay would get the priority for sure. Oh, Andrew's showers item on screen. Okay, maybe it's something in settings married to reselling. I'd have to have a look through my my listings. I might have something on settings, maybe. Might be the rare items thing, demise. I mean, when you do your search, just put like UK only then. Just narrow it down to UK only and see what comes up. I sometimes do that. Just on that similar sort of subject, has anybody else noticed on vintage that you know now how you can now see USA vintage listings, and USA can see UK vintage listings. Now I know that people in the US have bought UK vintage items, but I'm seeing a lot in my vintage feed, you know, like the recommended feed. I'm seeing a lot of USA items in there now because I saw some but quite a few bundles today that I actually wanted to buy. They were like band t-shirts or something. It was like 25 band t-shirts, and like 50 pounds, and they were decent ones as well. So I thought, oh, I like look at those. So I went through to the item and I couldn't buy them. It was giving me£7 something postage. I thought that's all right, coming from the US. Wouldn't let me there was no buy button. And then when I came out and went through the feed, I was seeing lots of USA listings. You can always you can normally tell because they have weird conversion rates on them, so it'd be like£23.81 or£20.59, you know, numbers that we wouldn't list items for normally. But every single one of them I couldn't buy. So it begs the question: what's the bloody point of showing us those listings if we can't buy them? Anyone else found that with vintage? I've had it all day today. Everything I've wanted to buy had been in the US, and I can't buy any of it. Jeff, you need to sort it out. You're over there. Talking of Jeff, if eBay live sales show up in searches for comparison, that could seriously skew average prices. Yeah, definitely. When I've been doing price checks like solds, I don't see anything that looks like eBay live sales at all. Like the majority of people that sell on eBay live are doing it as item on screen with just a generic image, and I'm not seeing any of that on my solds, not nothing at all. So I don't know, I don't know what's happening with Married to Reselling and their results, but I'm not seeing any. And I think it would make perfect sense if eBay really are meant to be excluding those results. So maybe the fact that you've seen Andrew's and pretty much no one else's, maybe that's some kind of glitch or something. But it would be much better if we didn't see those. Because it's really no point, no use to anybody, is it? Cloud9. I recently bought a US item from Vinted, all went through okay. Interesting. Okay. I'm gonna go on now and have a look while we're here because I saved the item. Let me have a look at my say favoured items. Is it one of them's bloody sold now? Typical. Some other bugger's got it. It was it you, Cloud9. I bet you bloody bought it, haven't you? Let's go to one. That one's not sold yet. No buy button. I wonder if I wonder if there's a setting in the US that allows you to say no to international sales, but for some reason they're still coming up in results. Again, that's annoying, isn't it? There is no there is no option for me to buy this item. Let me see if I can show you on screen. I know this doesn't help if you're listening, but oh here. Right. Bundle of t-shirts. I'm sorry if you can't see it. Right. This is the listing, it's in the US. I want to buy it. It tells me it's£7.88 postage. No buy button at all. Can't buy it. And I'm finding that with the major in fact, I've not been able to buy any USA items at all. Is there something new in the settings? Nothing in my settings, anyway. I don't know. Another stupid eBay thing. Sorry, not eBay. I apologize, eBay. You're not stupid. Vintage is stupid. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, Limelight. Limelight also says maybe US set sellers have an option not to ship overseas. In that case, though, Limelight, wouldn't it make sense for the item or their items in their store not to appear in overseas searches? I mean it it's not rocket science, is it? eBay was very glitchy today. It was, yeah, it was very glitchy. I couldn't log in earlier. Some people in the Discord were saying that they were having the same trouble. I'm just getting my messages back up on vintage so that I can keep an eye on this one. No response yet. I bet we don't get a response. I'm gonna have to make my own decision, aren't I? There you go. Ross says I can buy those teas. Found it$12.72 import fee. Why haven't I got a buy button then? You take it. If you can buy it, take it, because I can't buy it. I wonder if if it's the same on desktop. Let me check that. If you want it, buy it, because I thought that was quite a good deal. But the£12 might be a bit of a deal breaker. It might just put the price up a bit too high. Let me have a look at my favourites on desktop. Where are favourites on here? Profile? Is it on there? Don't often buy on here. Can't bloody find favourites now. Oh, it's a heart thing, isn't it? How stupid of me. Right. Go back on that bundle. All I've got is ask seller. I can ask the seller a question, but I can't buy anything off him. Weird that, isn't it? Wonder why. Why do you think, guys? Why am I not able to buy that item? Is it because I'm a pro seller? Are you guys pro sellers that can buy it? Are you pros or not? Because I can't buy it.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_00

It's not having it. I can't buy it. Are you all pros that can buy it? You could get Jeff to buy them and then pick them up when you visit. I could do, yeah, but I can't be bothered. I can't be bothered. I'm not that desperate, really. I just saw them and I thought, oh, you know, I might buy those. eBay was hacked yesterday. Whaaaaa probably fixing it. Oh great. Another hacking. Jordi says I can buy it as well. Non-pro. Okay, you're not a pro. Andrew's also not. Andrew's also private. I wouldn't be able to see it, Steve, if I was blocked. Our eventor can do it on both. How strange. How very strange indeed. Right. So there's no rhyme or reason behind it. Never mind. Someone else have it if you want it, if you think it's a good deal. I'm going to be on eBay live, by the way, Wednesday this week. Wednesday, 6 p.m. We're going to be doing clothing this week. First time that we've done, apart from jerseys, I'm not counting that, but it's the first time we will be doing a clothing show on eBay Live. That's going to be six o'clock this Wednesday. So look out for that. Go bookmarkers. I might put a link in the chat in a second. In the meantime, I was going to do something then. I've forgotten what it is. Oh yeah, I was going to thank members because lately my mind has been going. So sometimes I've been forgetting. So I don't like to forget to thank everybody. Where's the banner's gone? Here we go. Big thank you to all our channel members here on YouTube. Thank you all so much for being a member. It's$2.99 a month. Please make sure that if you do decide to join channel membership, do it on a desktop or an Android phone. Don't use an Apple iPhone because you will get charged extra per every single month you'll get charged more. It will come in at$3.99 a month instead of$2.99 a month if you use an iPhone. That is bloody stupid, but that is the reality of it. So please use a desktop ideally or use an Android. And that way you will just pay$2.99 a month. And that gets you into our little reseller Discord. We have over 60 people in there. All very friendly. We all help each other out. And a big thank you to everybody who's part of it. The names are going along the screen at the bottom now. We've got the Monkey Thrifter. I've not seen Monkey Thrifter for a while. Hope he's okay. Retro electronic repair Andrew Milburn who's in the chat Ems Den. Keith Pitcoe, George's Treasure Shed, and James D, Tommy Trade, Sarah Evans, vinyl nuts, and lots more people. Thank you all so so much. Great to have anybody on board. Hopefully we'll see a few more people in there soon. What else was I going to do? I'm going to do something else. Let's go back to the chat, see where we're up to here. Oh, here we go. Deborah says it's my Rob's birthday on Wednesday. Any chance of a happy birthday? Why not? We're not done birthdays for ages, have we?

SPEAKER_02

Happy birthday Woo Happy birthday to Rob.

SPEAKER_00

Nice one. Have a good one. Any other birthdays while we're here? Might as well Jeff says eBay Live Clothing Pro tip. Model the clothes for better sales. People have bought stuff that I've been wearing before now on on shows. Oh hang on a sec.

SPEAKER_02

Peter Ray's birthday coming up here we go happy birthday woo.

SPEAKER_00

Happy birthday to Peter Ray, what a legend. Go follow Peter Ray on YouTube. Chris Tyler, what percentage of average Joes do you think will have heard of eBay Live? Right now probably not many Chris but I would anticipate that number to be going up rapidly. eBay Live is all over the eBay homepage. If you're an eBay live seller and you have something listed it also gives you a little banner to say you've got an eBay live show or they're an eBay live seller. And eBay Live are sponsoring some high profile TV stuff. Oh guys guys we have a we have a response I've had a reply on vintage I've had a reply from the duplicate sale here it is this is what they've replied they've said yeah just cancel just cancel I will take that as a buyer agreed to cancel cancel order agreed with buyer I'm just going to put it ash you for something I'm just going to put buyer agreed to cancel done cancel order. Hopefully I won't get a negative I'm just going to write on here I'm just going to say thanks so much and very sorry again if there is anything I can do you a great deal on just let me know lots of love Chris problem solved be nice to people and normally you get a good response I wouldn't be saying that if they came back and had a hissy fit at me obviously why does Joe have to be average? Why not an average Jeff or an average Chris Tyler I think from now on we'll use the phrase average Jeff what about that yay it's a result fluffy the muffin yep yep yep yep yep oh Rob says thank you for the birthday Liz Scotty Dogs Crafts do sellers on vintage have the option not to let buyers have items delivered to the home address I've come across a few things I wanted to buy but no option to have delivered to home address I don't think for sure I think every does every option come with a home delivery option having set yeah everything I think everything has like royal mail you can have to a shop like to a post office or a home in post you can normally have to a locker or home every parcel shop or home so I think most options have both as far as I'm aware oh some buggers bought them band t-shirts Geordie who was it come on own up who had them come on get in the chat now I want commission from that purchase nice result said MsD Em's Den are quiet tonight aren't they? Very quiet. What are they doing? Emsden had about six videos out this weekend if you want to go and catch any of them it'll take you all day to get through them all very entertaining still watching uh Marie lug a hundred bricks from one side of the garden to the other so entertaining yes every does deliver to home there we go oh and I've had another reply from that message that I just sent to the the buyer and they just said that's alright cheers oh well all's well that ends well on that one I can now shut my phone down and forget about that. I was a bit suspicious as you couldn't see them all fully yeah but that happens a lot though doesn't it when you're buying a bundle of stuff you don't often see every single item in full I don't mind that as long as as long as the description says good condition or whatever I'm happy I would happily take I would have happily taken a chance on those uh emsden area almost as excited as watching a tank being drained yeah for all the exciting home improvement videos go and follow M'sden's other channel oh that's what I was going to do I was going to put my eBay live link in so that you lot can go bookmark it because I know you're going to be dying to come and watch Wednesday at 6 pm I'm going to copy that link share the event copy here we go guys paste that in there sorry if you're listening this is very very boring but I'm just putting a link to my eBay live show which is all on clothing this week I'm going to put it in here as well. Oh no I've already done it there that's fine. If you click that link you can bookmark it and get a reminder so yeah please come and join us on Wednesday at 6pm reseller George has popped in welcome to you hope everything is going well with the reselling in George's world here's a question for everyone what what is overrated in reselling right now I know it's a bit of a weird question but I was thinking about this earlier like when I was thinking about what to chat about on the show today what's what's overrated in the reselling world right now I mean is it an item a bolo or is it video certain kinds of videos is it the fact that people watch videos still like still watching videos is it what is it what's overrated in reselling right now let me know in the chat let's see you reckon Jeff Jeff might have bought the t-shirts maybe yeah have you bought them Jeff here we go reseller George overrated in reselling right now courses and groups apart from Discord apart from the car boot Chris Discord George that's not overrated that's underrated and a bargain at$2.99 a month but my my discord group is not a it's not a guru group and it's not a leads group it's just a community and it's not just like just makes makes it sound not very good it's very good it's a lovely community but I understand where you're coming from there George courses and groups there's a lot of people doing courses aren't there I think you've got to really like if you're going to sell a course you better damn well know what you're talking about and you better have the background and the knowledge to sell it honestly sometimes you see people selling courses and it's like you've only you've only been around for a year or you've not you've not even been doing reselling for very long how can you sell a course you need the credentials to to get through it I think Pokemon cards Jordi reseller said ooh what is overrated in reselling right now Pokemon cards interesting i i have no idea what I'm doing with Pokemon cards I don't know I've never watched like an episode of poker Pokemon I keep thinking I should do so I can understand it a bit more but I wouldn't know without scanning them what was good and what wasn't other than you always hear about this Charizard thing like card that everyone looks for but that's that's as far as it goes for me that that's probably really insulting to people who collect Pokemon and buy and sell it El Raventa says Fleek Fleek is overrated right now have you had some bad experiences Ross I've not bought from Fleek for probably about six weeks actually I've not looked on there there for a little while but I'm going to go back on soon very hit and miss so I I love that very hit and miss sometimes you get some good stuff sometimes you don't get good stuff I guess it's like any sort of wholesaler as well although fleek is a platform rather than an actual wholesale company Jeff said it wasn't me a guru group yeah I don't run a guru group I I could never claim to be a guru at anything Trugman hello joining late car boots are overrated what hang on a minute hang on a minute car boots are overrated I can't believe it I'm looking for a VT that matches that I ain't got one got one oh no car boots overrated disgraceful get out of this group get out of this live chat trugman demise family playing the whole I only buy the best of the best when really you just want a video to put out playing the whole buy the best of the best is that for is that I assume that's aimed at content creators demise Carhart overrated Ralph Loren overrated I've done well on some Ralph Loren stuff I've still got a leather jacket to list actually I was just reminded me of that Ross thank you got a Ralph Loren leather jacket to list that should be worth a bit a few resellers tried that a couple of years back remember tried what Steve you've lost me there eBay loans are overrated I tell you what on this eBay loan subject go and watch go and watch Polish Pete's video he did a breakdown of how the eBay loans are very very very bad value for money my voice is going guys just hang on a second yeah Polish Pete broke it down and the eBay loans are not great value. You're better off getting a credit card or a personal loan but don't take that as financial advice do your own research reseller George the Van Gogh Pikachu is the only one I know I don't even know that one all I know is the Charizard. Little Steve is still looking for a Mike Tyson card oh that that died of death years ago Steve you're still living in COVID times Peter Ray overrated that new resellers often focus too much on the thrill of sourcing and not enough on the boring parts like consistent listing and accurate pricing. Oh that's a very well thought out comment Peter well done I like that one but everyone loves the thrill of sourcing don't they? Yes Ross says fleet customer service if I'm honest has been appalling they haven't followed their own policies and they say they'll fix things and pay you money but you have to spend two weeks chasing them that's not good is it that's not good at all Jeff Jeff says that there is an older gentleman at our local flea market Mr Jim he's been selling Pokemon cards there since our kids were little guys 1996 he's still there every weekend imagine the imagine the knowledge you must have a lot of knowledge on Pokemon cards I reckon after all that time. Gentleman Marketeers in welcome Simon lurking there lurking in the background jumble sales are jumble sales are horrible I'm with you on that one that is a definite jumble sales are 100% overrated they are evil evil horrible places I hate them but when I see them advertised they do sometimes go so you gotta face your fears haven't you the course selling oh the course selling thing yeah I see what you mean says little Steve yeah yeah I'm getting I get emails weekly about the eBay loans the last one I had they're offering me nine grand a nine grand loan apparently I I I can get I can just get nine grand like that and then screw myself over financially no thanks bread makers and vacuum cleaners are overrated is that because you want a corner the market Chris Deborah Sardine car boots are fab and exciting it's the only trip out we have apart from shopping in Aldi we lead sad lives down here we're gonna be down in Devon in a couple of weeks what date are we on today it's the 27th in two weeks we're just over in about 10 days we're gonna be down in Devon we're going for our final trip uh for Belle to say goodbye to her workmates before she starts her new job and we're gonna go and meet some people we know down there and yeah we're gonna have a couple of days down in Devon yeah reseller George's got a good one there's a scene in 28 days later that reminds me of a jumble sale those grannies are vicious it's they're just evil aren't they I just can't be bothered with the scrum oh this is controversial demise family said being a reseller is overrated if you're thinking about becoming one I wouldn't bother ooh that's put the cat among the pigeons wow being a reseller is overrated there's probably parts of that sentence that is 100% true what else we got here hi vinyl nutter welcome to the chat trugman says depends on the jumble cell you want to find an underadvertised one or find a way to get in early yeah that's true I did go to a jumble sale a while back that was pretty much empty and that wasn't bad I did I did quite enjoy that one who uses bread makers anymore exactly Chris yeah that's true Peter A overrated the eBay seems to glitch the website and app on a regular basis yeah Trugman says car boots are too early too many fakes broken items too much competition and have to pay to get in even worse if it's extra for the early bird I'll tell you what Trugman don't go and then we can all reap the rewards how about that you stay home we'll all go Deborah Sardine it would be lovely to catch up whilst you're down south down south well it's not really down south that's landon that's fucking landon in it's not landon it's I can't do the Cornish type accent You are that's about all I got vintage is overrated just started selling on it and can't work it out you're a bit late to the party Simon, oh mind you, I know why you're late to the party. No, I know, yes, I know. But yeah, you're too late. You've missed the boat. Mark Hill, we find jelly cats to be overrated. Living in the North Pole is overrated. And Phil says overrated activity that feels productive but doesn't move the system forward. Oh wow, that's very uh corporate. Vinyl Nutter sold his bread maker at a car boot or their bread maker. More like a pirate, yeah, I know. I know it's bad, isn't it? I'm trying to think of someone who says something in Cornish accent that I could copy, but all I've got is the all I've got is the detectorists Mackenzie Crook. And I can't even think of a phrase that he says that I could do. Down west and rubbish accent. Yeah, I know, I know, rubbish accent, I know. Tat peddler does well. Oh god, we've we've started some on bread makers now. Tat peddler does well on bread makers. There you go. There you go, reseller Georgia's got it. That's it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm not trying to read it out.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you know what they do say? What me and Belle notice when we lived down in Devon, people say my lovely a lot. Thank you, my lovely, thank you. They say my lovely a lot. Like you're just in the shop. My lovely. So what's that all about? Was Jeff Row from Cornwall? I think probably he was. He's got that voice, hasn't he? Trugman, jellycats have done alright on, but recently have been very poor. I think with all the stuff going on with how they're treating their stockists, and a lot of people are turning off from the brand. Yeah. Could be. Could be. Jeff to Oliver Ian, the tall ship on your Man City logo. Does Manchester have a long history of shipbuilding? I don't know if you would call it shipbuilding. I'm not sure whether it relates to the Manchester ship canal, probably. I can't remember. I I do remember reading about all the elements of the badge, but I've forgotten now. All pirates speak Cornish, that's true, yeah. And gentlemen marketeer, Furby can't shut them up. Yeah, very overrated. Okay, okay. I think we've overdone the overrated stuff. I'm just looking at my little list here, because I had a few little pointers, but we've done pretty well to be honest, chatting about random stuff. You've all brought your questions to the table. Even the Somali pilots, no, not really. No. And Deborah Sardine said, I saw a headstone on a graveyard once. Here lies a pirate lost at sea. Oh wow. That's amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, right, it's time for the duck race. And let me just check. Okay, let's get the duck race ready. Sorry guys, I just had to do a little bit of checking. And here we go. We've got 43 ducks in tonight's race. And let's see, two minutes on the clock. Two minutes on the clock. Time to do a pause face. And I said, let's just share the screen. If you're listening to this, guys, if you are listening on Spotify or Apple Music or Amazon Alexa and all that, if you are listening, then we're about to do a duck race. And basically, if you would like to take part in the said duck race, you will have to come over and find me on YouTube. Just search carboot Chris or in the description of the podcast, you'll see a link to my YouTube channel. Come and visit us, and if you comment on the previous week's video, so when tonight's show ends, and you come and find it, make a comment on it. And next week you'll get entered into our online duck race, and you'll be within a chance of winning a prize, which I will post out myself. It will come from me and Belle. I'll put it in the post wherever you live in the world. I'll send you a prize. Often it includes sweeties, which is a Brucie bonus. So yeah, if you want to be a part of that, please come and join us on YouTube. Enter the duck race, and then you can listen to it back later. So here we go, guys. We've got 43 ducks in tonight's race. Good luck to everybody. And let's just go across. Two minutes.

SPEAKER_01

We're gonna set that.

SPEAKER_00

Shuffle the ducks. They get one, two, three, three shuffles. And they're off. The ducks are off to a flying start here. We've got 43 ducks in tonight's race. Net Espresso takes an early lead with the Rudolph Duck. Pumpkin Pickers in second place. Ian G third, but we do have some naked ducks floundering towards the bottom of the lake or the river. It's a river, isn't it? It's not a lake. And Elra Vent is there. Helen Graham is leading with a naked duck. Naked ducks always have a better chance of winning because there are more naked ducks in the race than dressed ducks. It's simple mathematics and averages and percentages. Phil Higginson in the middle of the pack there. Lazy Jane's close. It's all very tightly packed. John Parker's up there. Kavalis comes to the front of the pack towards the back. Fred Andy Bentos, last week's winner. Cloud9 allotments. Rosie Mars and Paul Hillman all dropping back. Chris Tyler's had it. Chris Tyler's done for this race. Absolutely done. Liz Scotty Dogcraft is leading with the yellow polka dot duck with one minute left on the timer. Dorothy Watkinson is coming through the middle of the pack, but Kivalis currently leads. I don't even know what kind of duck that is. It's a weird helmet on him. Sharon Island now takes the lead. Titch is in second place. And Paul Hillman in third place with the pretty little princess duck. Lisa's up there as well, close. Linlin's dropping back. Linlin is losing now. And Net Espresso is close to the front again. Cloud9 allotments with 20 seconds left of the race. It's all to play for. It's going to be a close finish. 15 seconds. Netespresso, nothing major. Cloud9, Deborah Sardine, Frey Andy Bentos, Phil Higginson are all very close. As we come into the final 10 seconds, it's very close. There's a beak between it. It's gonna could be anybody wins here. Speedfoot flips comes out of nowhere. We're well done to speed foot flips. You're the winner. There we have it. That's a duck race. That was exciting, wasn't it? Speedfoot flips. You're the winner. If you're watching or listening to this back, because I don't think I've seen speed foot flips in the show tonight, please send me a message on Instagram, Facebook, or there is an email address down below as well for me. Please send me a message and give me your address, and I will send you a prize and some amazing sweeties. My favorite mock-y sweeties, I'm going to share with you, and I'm going to send you some. So if you guys want to be within a chance of winning a duck race, please come back after the show has ended, make a comment, and you'll be in next week's duck race. Oh, talking about next week, there will be no show next Monday night. We are having a break next week. We're at the end of our 10 show series, so we'll have a break next week, and we'll start the new series the week after for another 10 shows, and away we go again. Jeff says Speedfoot flips first win. Oh, excellent. Finally, we've got a new winner. Rachel Fantastic is here. She was on eBay live before. I did pop in and see how she was getting on, but I had to come away and get on with getting ready for tonight's show. So Speedfoot is a first ever winner. You'll have to show us what sweets they are. They keep mentioning them. Yes, I certainly can. They are mockies, they are amazing. They're my favourite sweeties. Search for Finny Mockies. Oh, Speedfoot is lurking. I've been lurking. Thank you. There you go, Speedfoot. Send me a message, and I'll get you your prize out this week, hopefully. Let me see if I can find these mock mockies to show people. And then we'll call it a day.

SPEAKER_01

Finny mocky. Here we go. Finny mockies. That's what they look like, guys.

SPEAKER_00

See those? They're like the little mocky ice creams. You know them little mocky ice cream things that are like Japanese like rice covered ice creams, but they're sweeties. That's it. Look for those mini mockies by Finney. They are amazing, and they are my favourite thing right now. I can literally eat the whole bag in less than a minute. And if you can beat that, you're going good because I eat them very fast. They're so yummy. And I think we're done for tonight, guys. We've covered that. We've said thank you to everybody for a change so we don't forget to say thank you. If you're listening to this on Spotify, Apple Music, etc., please hit the download button and your future podcasts will get served to your phone directly. You'll get a notification there's a new one available to listen to. You can come and listen to it. We're going to finish the show with Chris's final thought. I just need to find it because I had it down here earlier. Okay. Oh, is it is it football next week? I I honestly did not even know that, but that's even better. That works perfectly. I did say to Bell we'd probably go watch a film at cinema, but might not be able to now. And yeah, okay, let's call it a day, guys. Thank you all so much for all your interactiveness and all your comments, your questions for tonight's FAQ. We'll see you for a new series in two weeks' time. We're gonna be off next week. And yeah, that's it for tonight's show. And we're gonna end with Chris's final thoughts, akin to Jerry Springer's final thought. So tonight's tonight shows it. Everyone's got questions, but the people who ask them, the people who try new things, are the ones that are best placed to evolve and to make money. Take care of yourselves and each other. That's it for today's episode. Don't forget to like or make a comment. I always reply to comments. And if you're on YouTube, hit the subscribe button. If you're on one of the audio channels, hit the download button, and we'll see you next time.
