Museum of Shanzhai Architecture
Dear friends, the Museum of Shanzhai Architecture is excited to launch our very own podcast channel!
Our museum, founded in 2020, is a leading institution with the most complete and authoritative collection on shanzhai culture, particularly on architecture. We particularly focus on researching shanzhai architectures that are based on Western prototypes.
Through our podcasts, we aim to take you on a journey through the original and impact of Shanghai architecture in contemporary China. These architectures are archives of the wave of contemporary China. We will dig through these architectures to understand the complex relations between authenticity and imitation, East and West, 'self' and 'other', the representation of power, and the constantly evolving climate of Chinese cultural identity.
Please subscribe to our channel and share with your friends. Follow us on social media and visit www.museumofshanzhaiarchitecture.com/ to learn more about us.

Imitation in Traditional Chinese Art
Welcome to the Museum of Shanzhai Architectures. In Wing A, Room 1, we're excited to take you on a journey exploring the origins of imitation and examine its nuanced role in traditional Chinese art.
This room showcases comprehensive archives and collections: color print copies of famous traditional Chinese paintings and calligraphy skillfully imitated from the classical pieces, along with photographs and 3D models with examples of imitation in traditional garden design.
Interested in the tradition of imitation? Visit our museum for more information. We would love to know what you think. Leave a comment on our Instagram or website. Check out our new post on this topic!
