Today we talk about the current events relating to the Last Days according to the Bible
Okay everybody, welcome. I'm your host, Jermaine Farrell, and welcome to Christian Council's Podcast. As always, I use the NESB 95 edition of the Bible, or on all the platforms, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon, Spotify, and iHeart. There probably be some more out there, I just can't remember them. This is episode uh this is season seven, episode two, and this is entitled Are We in the Last Days? Alright, so let's get into it. The last days. I'm gonna read you a verse from Matthew 24, uh, verses 68. It says, You will be hearing of wars and rumor of wars. See that you are not frightened, for these things must take place. But that is not yet the end, for nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. So last week there were four major earthquakes in one single day. One in California, that was a 5.6, two in Venezuela, that was one was a 7.2, and the latter was 7.5, and one in Japan, which was a 6.9 magnitude. Uh the one in Venezuela being the deadliest was 1,400 dead as of this recording, and 70,000 are still missing. So your prayers are definitely needed for the people of Venezuela. I don't recall there ever being a day, a one single day, that we have four major earthquakes. I mean, this is completely historic. Especially being spread around as it was. I mean, obviously they're all within the ring of fire, but they're spread around. I mean, they're in totally different places, different continents. Still in the ring of fire, but different continents. But the point is that there was four major ones. These aren't light earthquakes. And Venezuela being up there with the sevens are it's it's showing that these are stronger, major earthquakes, and we're just they're becoming more uh more and more as we go on. I reference you back to Matthew 24, uh, verse 7, where it says there will be earthquakes in various places. Now, on top of that, we have the on and off uh war of Iran. Every day I feel like when I get up, there's a different rumor of the status of the war. One day we're on, one day we're not at war, one day there's a deal, one day there's not a deal, one day there's a ceasefire, one day there's not. And it's just rumor after rumor after rumor. I mean, it started off with the war, but then it became rumors of wars. Then we're gonna go to the rumors of wars of Israel with Lebanon. One day they're fighting Lebanon, there's uh they're bombing Lebanon. The next day they're not. The next day it's just a rumor of it, they're not really doing that. It's just, you know, it's the same thing with Iran. You don't know what's really going on and what's not. Wars and you're hearing the rumors of wars. Same thing in Ukraine. Ukraine is actually a war going on, and you hear there's a rumor that they're up on Russia, then they're not, and Russia's gonna be, it's just a lot with the war thing going on. Lots of wars going on. And again, I reference you back to Matthew 24. There will be wars and rumors of wars. I mean, that's the first, that's verse 6. The first verse of the passage that I read. You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. And then he talks about it says there will be earthquakes. And then there's the famine. Never in history has the world been this much in need of food. According to the World Food Program, there is a staggering 363 million people who face famine. With 45 million people in the middle, in the Middle East alone, and that does include the Gaza people. So 363 million, that's more than the population of the United States, all face famine with 45 million of these people in the Middle East. How is I mean, how did he get to the point where our large body of the world is hungry? But again, I reference you back. Uh that Matthew 24, he says right here, he says, there will be in the various places there will be famines and earthquakes. Famines and earthquakes. Nation will rise against nation. We see that already. Kingdom against kingdom, wars and rules, rumors of wars. And these things are the beginning of birth pangs. So I want to I want to really draw uh draw a circle around the beginning of birth pangs. Uh birth pangs, we all know what that is. Um for those who don't, birth pangs are the intense, painful contractions experienced during childbirth. Right? So Jesus is liking the end of times to that. He's saying, this is merely the beginning of these painful times. And that's it, that is a daunting sentiment. That this is the beginning of the of these things. So when people ask me, are we in the last days or what's going on? Or you know, it feels like things are coming down. And you know, I'm gonna echo what the Bible says. You know, the love of many has grown cold, right? Lawlessness has increased. Uh there is the weather has gone berserk. Tornadoes are places I've never seen a tornado ever. The heating of the earth, which again that's in Revelation, talks about the heating of the earth. It's gonna get bad. Um, earthquakes, these volcanoes that are going off constantly. It feels like the earth is groaning um with warning. It's groaning with warning. And that's what I want. I want to take this. I want to take this not to just is the world at the last days. I want to I want to take it to it's a warning. It feels like the earth is warning us. God is using earth to warn us about what's coming. We're not in the last days. I feel like we're in the last minutes, and we need to start acting like it's the fourth, we're in the fourth quarter. Right? The world I don't want to I don't want to paint the picture like, okay, the world's gonna end tomorrow. I mean that the warning is for us as Christians to preach the gospel, and not to preach the gospel to people to escape hell. I mean, that's not the purpose of the gospel. It's the purpose of the gospel, it's to restore that relationship between God and man. There's a rift because of your sin, and it needs to be repaired so you can have the relationship so God can adopt you again as one of his heirs. That's the gospel. So we need to get that to people while right now people can still enjoy the benefits of being with God. For instance, there's joy to be had, there's a sense of non-worry and relief. Mental health would improve dramatically. But if you're looking at the science, we don't have much time to enjoy those things because Christians are just walking around acting like they have forever and forever to preach the gospel. They didn't just want to enjoy houses with white pig fences and boats and having fun, and no one wants to preach the gospel. And now we if you look at half the world, people are suffering all over the place. I just heard of a story uh yesterday that uh a boy was going through mental health issues and he consulted ChatGPT about what he should do for his depression. Uh this led the chat was long, but eventually led for the ChatGPT to say, uh, well, don't tell your parents about it. Uh don't worry about it, it's not that bad. And the boy ended up dying. If the gospel was preached to that boy, he could have an outlet for the Lord, because the Lord says casting worries and anxieties upon me. Right? Or if the parents were teaching him, training them up in the ways of the Lord, he would know that. He knows he would know he could go to his parents, and he would know he can go to the Lord. This is the times that we had that we're living in right now. This is why I try to say we're living in the last minutes, not the last days. Because everything around us is breaking loose. Uh and suicides and mental health crisis is on the rise. Weather anomalies and the earth seems to be uh groaning is on the w on the rise. Right? We're only waiting for the one big earthquake that the Bible talks about that's gonna break off probably around the San Andreas fault line and shift the earth around. That that's the next big if you if you're around for that, that's where things have already broken loose. But I'm just saying, yes, we're in the last days, we're in the last minutes. The church age is about to end soon, and our job is not to have to be out there having fun right now, it's to get out there and get the gospel preached so people can enjoy the benefits of being in a relationship with Jesus now and in the end times. It's not just to escape hell. Alright, enough on that. I'm gonna end this podcast by talking about uh my books. You want to pick up Unclean Spirit, the novel series, books one and two, anywhere books are sold, that would be Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Walmart, or wherever. Um, pick up both books. I rewritten book one to match book two, and book two just came out back in uh in April. So if you want to pick up both books, they flow together perfectly, uh, they go together uh and just just pick pick those up. When you do, you when you pick up the the unclean spirit novel series, you're going to have an entertaining way to learn about how demons operate and how principalities are re are largely region-based. That Paul was talking about in Ephesians and and in Daniel. Uh, not to mention, some of the myths of the Catholic Church are busted wide open. So you're gonna learn stuff while also being entertained. That was the whole purpose of me writing the books. Alright, so I'm gonna leave it there. Again, we're in the last minutes, not the last days. Read, go read Matthew 24. I advise anybody to if you want to know more about the end times, read Matthew 24, the whole chapter. Go and read Joel chapter 2, go read Revelation, um, things like that. And of course, you want to read Daniel. Alright? That's all I have for right now. I'm your host, Jermaine Farrell, and I'll talk to you all next time.
