Hello everyone, welcome to Christian Capsules. I'm your host, Jermaine Farrell. As always, I use the NF NASB 95 edition of the Bible. We're on all the platforms, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, Amazon, Spotify, iHeart, you name it, we're on it. Alright, so this is season 7, episode number 3, and it is called No Excuse for Sin. Before we get into the uh topic, I want to give you a quick update on where we're at on certain projects. Um the children's book that I was working on is on temporary hold, and that's because of a possible story change and the debate over uh illustrations. So I'm I'm kind of putting that on the shelf for a second, and then also I wanted the Unclean Spirit standalone book. That's also been changed. I'm now merging that idea as a flashback in the beginning of book three and throughout book three, it would be sprinkled throughout book three. So it's no longer a standalone book, it's just gonna be sprinkled in through book three, and that brings me to book three. It was gonna be a ways off because of the uh children's book and the standalone book. Now it's been bumped up, so now it's gonna be that's moved up. I'm working on getting ready to work on book three, and then after book three comes the Christian capsules book. Um more teachings, I love to teach, so therefore another Christian capsules book. I mean, I'm teaching in unclean spirit, but that's in a different way. That's more um the unambiguous, uh, that's more behind the scenes type teaching. I like straightforward, just straight in your face teaching with the Christian capsules. Uh then at the same time, this is going on. Um migrating both Unclean Spirit books to e-book. Because once I get them with this e-book, then I can transfer them to as an audible book. Uh, and I think they'll do much, I think they do well as an audiobook, more dramatized. It's gonna be sick. I'm very excited about the audible book. So that's just a Christian uh Christian capsule book coming and the Unclean Spirit book three. Um, those are the major titles that are coming soon. And that's just a quick update on where we are with certain projects. Alright, that said, let's get into the topic at hand. No excuse for sin. We're gonna read you a verse out of Romans chapter 1, verse 18. It says, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth and unrighteousness. The chapter talks about mankind not having an excuse for staying in their sin because God has revealed himself to man. And that's the excuse part I want to talk about. I'm witnessing far too many excuses by Christians on why they stay in their sin. And so they stay in their sin, and their sin becomes habitual, and now you have a huge problem on your hands with the Lord. The first excuse is that their sin is addictive. The sin is so addictive that, of course, they have a hard time dropping it. But the implication is that it isn't their fault because X, Y, or Z is addictive. Sister Budget BS. I get that some things have an addiction to it, but in order for something to become addictive, you have to try it out first, right? No one puts those drugs into your system. But you. No one logs you onto those porn sites, and no one pour alcohol down your throat. You did that, right? At some point we must take responsibility for our actions. The second excuse. The temptation is far too gripping, it's too overbearing. Yes, temptation can seem daunting, but it's only daunting because it's drawn from either your desires already in your heart or fear that has overtaken you. Paul in Corinthians says that with temptation with temptation, he being God will give us a way to escape so that we can bear it. So temptation is not really overbearing, it's just an excuse we use to indulge in our sins. And how about this one? I'm only the I'm only human excuse. Man, how many times have I heard that? Come on, man. Is God an idiot? Remember, the requirement of holiness is there. God knows you're human, he created you, remember? But that's not gonna take the requirement of holiness off the table. Just because you're human. It is because you're human that the requirement is there. That repentance from sin is still a requirement. Stop already with the I'm only human. You have the Holy Spirit, you have the Spirit of God living within you. Start acting like it. God knows my heart. So don't judge me. What are we talking about? What are we doing? Yeah, you better believe God knows your heart, and therefore he requires you to confess your sin and repent it. Jesus says, You have to obey my commandments. Right? Nobody's judging you. God's law judges you. So stop indulging in sin and start taking it seriously. God hates sin, remember? We gotta get back to basics. Don't you remember? God hates sin. That guy Adam and E they did one thing wrong. And they got kicked out of the garden. And they had to go rough it. They had it laid out before them in the garden, and now things got rough for them. And then sin, if you don't remember correctly, once you have it, it leads to other things. It leads to people around you becoming sinful, it leads to other things happening. Can't enable habit after you've got sin into the world. Other things and other people aren't affected by your sin. It's not only a God hates sin, he hates it for a reason. He hates it because it only tears you down, it eats away your soul, and it tears you further and further apart from God. So we gotta stop making excuses of why we sin and start looking to the Holy Spirit to look into the Holy Spirit to help us get out of sin. And start looking for ways to escape when we get tempted. When the temptation comes, you're gonna start looking for the ways that God has for you to escape. Maybe when you're firing up that porn say, you can't get to it real quick. You're like, what's the name of that sign again? And after three tries you're trying to get it, maybe those are the warning signs. Those two or two or three tries that you can't get it, it's warning for you to stop doing it. We need to stop with the excuses and start taking responsibility for them. Because I guarantee you this on judgment day, guys not gonna be like, oh let me hear the excuses that you have. Oh, really? Yeah, I get it now. You're only human, so yeah, come on in.
