Bipartisan FEMA Act Advances: What It Means for Counties
The U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has overwhelmingly approved the bipartisan FEMA Act of 2025, sending it to the full House for consideration. The legislation would elevate FEMA to cabinet-level status, speed disaster funding through a grant-based system, streamline survivor aid, expand mitigation resources, and improve transparency with new public dashboards.
