Let's say that somebody tells you your website has already been optimized for SEO, to the extent that it can be. What's your first reaction? What do you think you should be doing? Let's talk about it. I actually had one of my customers be told this by their website designer. And to say that I cringed when I read that. Is an understatement. And I really had to think about how to politely say one. Your website can always be optimized more. And to let me show you where your SEO hasn't even been started. So some of the things you need to look for. If somebody's doing SEO on your website. And again, every SEO person is going to be different. However, SEO is never finished. It is the never-ending marathon for a reason. And title tags. This company didn't even have title tags on any of their pages. They had the same meta-description for every page. So obviously that hadn't even been started much less completed. They weren't showing up for anything, but their brand names, employee names. That was it. No keywords that people would be searching for them who didn't already know them. And that's really the importance of SEO. We love the people who already know I can trust us. We get that. We want them to buy from us. We want them to be lifelong customers and to sing our praises. But we always need to have new clients coming into that funnel. And the way to do it is for people to find you. And they don't know you yet, so they're not going to know your business name or your website name or your CEO's name. Uh, in order to look you up. They're going to be searching for a problem or solution that your business, its products and services can solve. And the question is, are you optimizing around those keywords? And so let's say that you have five pages and that you do have keyword optimized, title tags, and meta descriptions that the content has been optimized, that you have optimized your images, both for site speed and for SEO. You may be saying, okay, Glennon, we're done. No, you're never going to be done. You can always make updates. You could make your site faster. You could add new services pages, you could update your old services pages. You could add a blog. You could add a most frequently asked page. So there is always something that you could be doing to help your website improve in the rankings. Okay. So if me telling you this makes you think, oh, well I just don't have time to work on SEO. It's just not worth it. It's never ending. I'm not going to get anywhere. I don't have tons of time to dedicate to it. I do want you to stop and think that now is the best time to start your SEO. Not three months from now, not six months from now, not a year from now. Even if you spend one hour this month. Making some optimizations to your website that is better than nothing. That will tell Google that you're making these changes. You'll start to see an increase in rankings and an increase in traffic. I recently had a potential prospect come back to me and say, yeah, I think I'm ready to get started now. And I proposed a three month package to her and it's ironic because had she accepted it, we would actually be done with the initial optimizations and she would be that much further along. Then. Okay, well now we might start sometime this summer. So while there is never a best time. Start now. Start now do something. And I want you to do that today. Go into your website. Can you optimize the title tag? Can you optimize the meta-description? Can you add onto your service page? Can you add on text to your home page? I recently looked at a webpage and there probably wasn't a hundred words on the home page. If that's you, can you double that? Can you triple that? Can you add more information for these potential clients to read and say, yes, this is the company that I want to do business with. I have questions about your SEO and what you should be doing. My email is in the show notes, or you can book a discovery call with me.
