When was the last time you tested your website on both a mobile and desktop for usability. So many of us. We'll be putting up a new page, introducing a new product, doing a new flow, or even getting a new website. And we're all about testing on our desktop because. That's most likely where we are. But more importantly, you need to be going to your mobile and testing it there. Whether it's a new page, a new product, a new website. How is it performing on your mobile device? Is it easy for people to get around? Is it easy for them to click on the buttons? Are they clear if you have pop-ups? Are they covering the entire page, which is a huge no-no if you have pop-ups can people. See the X to get out of them. Very clearly. These are the things you want to test and test regularly. And one of the things I recommend to people is have a family member or a friend test your website for you. These are people who most likely support you want to help you, but they're probably not on your website at all, or even ever. They may have not even seen your website. So have them go on their mobile phone and ask them to do something specific, like fill out a contact form, download your freebie give them a coupon code to buy a product and have them test that process and they will come back to you with notes. They will let you know what was hard for them or what was easy. Or maybe even what was missing, maybe they couldn't figure out how to do it. And that will help you make your website better for all the users coming on mobile. Let's remember that Google is now prioritizing mobile first. And sitespeed for SEO, everything. So it is to your advantage to make sure that your website on a mobile phone is as user-friendly as possible. It needs to load quickly. It needs to be easy to navigate. Buttons need to be easy to click. The process needs to be seamless on mobile. Just like it is on your desktop. If you have a few extra minutes this month, spend some time having somebody test that for you. Every time you start to put up a new page or product or service or any kind of change on your website, make a note in your operating procedures that you're going to have it tested on both a desktop and mobile.
