#057 - Health Innovations of Oct 2025
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
October felt like a month where the future tried to slip into the present without making too much noise—yet every innovation had a pulse you could feel.
Albania introduced an AI minister who somehow “parents” 83 digital children, while OpenAI backed brainwave-reading tech that edges us closer to machine-human blending without ever touching a scalpel. Samsung and Google nudged AI health coaching further into everyday life, and Oura sprinted through the headlines: aiming for FDA-cleared hypertension detection, gamifying sleep with Vitality Discovery, and then stirring a storm by teaming up with Palantir—hardly the cuddliest data partner.
Bathrooms joined the health-tech party too, with smart toilets officially analysing whatever you leave behind. Aline returned from India with stories of a children’s hospital that designs care like an experience, not a protocol. Mo pushed us to confront the freedom to die in an age obsessed with longevity.
The numbers were mixed: U.S. obesity down again, diabetes still rising. Vicarious trauma quietly spreading. Strava and Airbnb launching runcations. And China declaring that only medically trained voices may talk about health online.
October was odd, inspiring, a bit unsettling—and irresistibly worth listening to. Dive in.
