R. Scott Edwards:

Welcome young listeners to another of ox amazing adventures. Today, auk is exploring the exciting city of San Francisco. Join him as he discovers famous sights like the cable cars, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf and more. Are you ready for a city adventure? Let's go.

Aawk:

Hi everyone, it's me, ock. I'm in San Francisco, California, and I'm about to ride a cable car. These are like little trains that go up and down big hills. Here we go. Wow, the city looks amazing from here. The hills are so steep. Look, there's Lombard street. It's the twistiest street ever. Lombard street is a street with so many curbs. Cars go really slow to make it down the hill safely. It looks like a big snake and all of those beautiful flowers along the sides. It's like a beautiful garden on a hill. Now I'm at Fisherman's wharf. There are boats everywhere and the smell of fresh seafood is awesome. Yum. I see people eating clam chowder in bread bowls. It looks delicious. I can hear the sea lions barking too. Can you hear the sea lions barking? The sea lions are so funny. They're lounging on the docks and barking and playing. They look like they're having a great time. Hey, look over there. It's Alcatraz island. It used to be a famous prison, but now people can visit and learn all about its history. It's like a big mysterious rock right in the middle of the water.

Tour Guide:

Hi, I am Joe, your tour guide. Alcatraz was once home to some of the most notorious criminals, like Al Capone and machine gun Kelly. Dangerous people. Now it is a fascinating museum.

Aawk:

That sounds interesting. I'd love to learn more about it someday.

Tour Guide:

Sure, you can sign up for a tour sometime in the future.

Aawk:

Well, I'm back at the wharf. Look at all the street performers. There's a magician doing magic tricks. You have something in the air, and a musician playing a guitar. This place is full of life. And that musician's song makes me want to dance. San Francisco is so lively. Well, I'm riding the cable car again. I love how it climbs up and down the steep hills. And look at all the colorful houses. They look like something from a storybook. These houses are called painted ladies. They're so pretty, and each one is painted a different color. I wonder what it's like to live in one of them. Well, now I'm at Golden Gate Park. I can see the Golden Gate bridge from right here. It's so big and red. It looks like it goes on forever. The view from here is amazing. The bridge, the bay and all the boats. San Francisco has so many beautiful sights. I hear an ice cream truck. Time for a treat. I'm getting a big scoop of chocolate ice cream. Yum. This city is amazing. I saw so much today. Cable cars, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, and even the Golden Gate bridge. I can't wait to tell my friends all about it.

R. Scott Edwards:

Thanks for joining auch on his San Francisco adventure. Until next time, keep exploring, keep learning, and keep imagining.
