Residue: A True Crime Podcast
Residue with Chrissy Champagne dives deep into the gritty world where true crime meets the movies. Each episode breaks down made-for-TV films and theatrical releases based on chilling real-life cases — exploring the facts behind the fiction, the victims behind the headlines, and the emotional residue these stories leave behind.
Still rooted in trust, instinct, and caution, Residue remains a space where true crime meets critical reflection. The original episodes are still here, but now we’re turning the spotlight on the stories Hollywood couldn’t resist — because sometimes, the scariest scripts are the ones that actually happened.
Stay paranoid.

Surviving A Nightmare: The Tracey Thurman Story
The Tracey Thurman case was a landmark legal case in the United States that led to a significant change in the way police departments handle domestic violence calls.
In 1983, Tracey Thurman was brutally beaten and stabbed by her estranged husband, Charles "Buck" Thurman, in Torrington, Connecticut. Despite having a restraining order against him.
The Thurman case led to a major shift in the way police departments handle domestic violence calls, with many departments adopting more proactive policies and procedures to protect victims of domestic violence.
The case was also adapted into a TV movie, "A Cry for Help: The Tracey Thurman Story," which aired in 1989 and starred Nancy McKeon as Tracey Thurman.
