~Walking In The Light~
In this podcast, Elders Randall & DeBorrah K. Ogans share biblically based insight, guidance, and advice on Life & Living, Marriage & Relationships, Family & Parenting, Faith & Belief, Church & Religion, Spiritual Health, and more.
Weekly episodes encourage listeners to live life out loud, walking/living in the light, doing what the Lord requires of us in every area of life. What does the Lord require of us? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God.
Jesus said "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life".
To walk in the light is to have a daily commitment to living out a righteous life. Blessed(happy) are those who walk in the light of His presence. His word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. For it is in Him that we live, and move, and have our being.
This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son, cleanseth us from all sin.
Always keep in mind, the transforming power of the Lord, is truth. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and everything else will be added unto you.

Thanksgiving Means So Much More Than Turkey & Dressing

A common perception of Thanksgiving is that it is solely a celebration of food and family. However, it has a much deeper historical and spiritual significance.
Thanksgiving is about much more than turkey and dressing. Although it originated here in America as a result of a peace treaty established between the Puritans and the Indigenous Americans, on a deeper level, it is a time to reflect on God's blessings, and express gratitude for His provisions, and His sacrifice in sending His son Jesus Christ.
The story of Christopher Columbus is often presented as the discovery of America. However, this podcast episode encourages us to seek the truth beyond the commonly taught narrative.
The land was already inhabited by the Indigenous Americans, making Columbus's arrival not a discovery, but an encounter with a pre-existing civilization that was already thriving and living comfortably in the land.
God provided the land, the resources, and the opportunity for the settlers to establish themselves. The Indigenous Americans showed them kindness and taught them how to live in the land.
The peace treaty, although temporary, can be seen as a testament to God's desire for harmony and unity. However, as we’ve seen even in this day and time, some people are quick to forget who helped them on their journey. There are some people who always want to take from others, to take advantage of, or have dominion over others. Greed kicks in and they attempt to take what’s not theirs.
We encourage you to listen to this episode and embrace the spirit of Thanksgiving, not just on one day, but in every aspect of our lives, by living in gratitude, seeking truth, and sharing God's love with others.
