Paints formulated with Kynar 500® PVDF are recognized worldwide as some of the most durable architectural coatings available. This advanced fluoropolymer delivers exceptional resistance to sunlight, UV exposure and harsh environmental conditions, allowing buildings to maintain their appearance and performance for decades without noticeable paint degradation or the need for frequent maintenance or recoating.

Manufactured exclusively by licensed producers of Kynar 500®, these coatings are factory-applied using spray or coil coating processes to protect metal substrates in high-performance architectural applications. They are trusted for use on skyscrapers, airports, hotels, shopping centers and landmark structures around the globe, including iconic projects such as the Empire State Building, Grande Arche de la Défense, and Singapore’s Esplanade.

In addition to factory-applied solutions, Arkema has developed complementary waterborne PVDF technologies for field application and restoration. Kynar Aquatec® PVDF emulsion, used in advanced cool roof coatings, has been recognized by the Solar Impulse Foundation as one of its “1,000 Solutions” for a more sustainable planet.
