SPEAKER_00

So what ended up you putting you in the in there?

SPEAKER_01

Drugs and fighting.

SPEAKER_00

I end up getting out of the drugs one.

SPEAKER_01

I got when I was in there I got more charges for weapons. Ah shit.

SPEAKER_00

See could be similar for me. I got lucky. I could talk about it now because the case is over. You know what I mean? I got lucky because um my mom passed away last July. And um I didn't take it too well. Right. I inherited her car. So I'm all fucked up, bro. Drive around. Oh, all of a sudden my vision flipped from all the shit I was taking. So a car that was over here looked like over here. So I'm gonna sort of out. Nope. Bang! Smash it into this shit, right? So get out of the car, and there's like a cop right there. She said, What are you on? I'm like, I'm like, I don't drink. Like I haven't drink in two years. I was two years sober when that happened. I go, you want to drink? Alright. So he kind of left it at that. Didn't search my vehicle, didn't do nothing. Eight. So I go to court, you know, I tell him I'll have a shit one for eight months. You know how slow of this justice system is system is. Right. So finally uh finally this past May finally gets dismissed. Because I told him I said, well, they uh they upped my antidepressant if my head. Then let me out of it. It's getting my fucking teeth, bro. But no. Same boat. Uh illegal AR-15s. Yeah. Fucking all kinds of drugs, so I'm wild shit you can imagine, dude. Yeah. It's fun. When you're in the light, it's fun, dude. I'm not gonna lie about it. It's fun, dude.

SPEAKER_01

You sober up and that was hard.

SPEAKER_00

I look back now and it's like, yeah, what the fuck is wrong with you, man? What's wrong with you? Driving down the street with a don't know what's wrong with me. Couldn't answer. But like I said, and at the time it's fun. Yeah. You know. But um the only reason the only reason I didn't end up in jail another time too was because Brooke H I I think Brooke? I believe she broke. I think she just took off. Yeah. But uh another one. We had gotten together during COVID. And that's like the worst time we started a relationship. Because there's nothing to do but drugs and drink. Yeah, absolutely. So me and her developed a bit of an issue. Uh drinking problem, coke problem. All kinds of stuff. And uh things got bad. You know, end up fighting each other. You know, cops come to we side with the woman. My name's on the lease, but somehow I'm good, I'm the one going to fucking jail. Okay, whatever. By the time I got back, she packed her shit and left. Flew back home. She flew here from Tennessee.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I was only in there overnight. By the time I get home, yeah, my shit's destroyed and all her shit's gone. She gone. Never seen her again.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But uh biggest regret of my life was that.

SPEAKER_01

Are you Albert? No. Are you Albert? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Took it for granted. But the drugs and alcohol made me do that, right?

SPEAKER_01

Covert, G-Hot, emergency room.

SPEAKER_00

Covert, G hat emergency room? She'd lucky to be with you. You know, in a way, I do I do believe that. Um I think anybody else in that predicament would have absolutely done more to take advantage of her or worse. I don't feel like you have to. You know what I mean? She was lucky that she was the one who actually gave a shit. You know, because there's a lot of dudes out here, man. It's like I tell my friends, like Ted Bundy. He'll be putting putting up like triple doubles these days. But these women these women died, just give all their information now. Hey, come pick me up. Here's my address, and blah blah blah. Goners.

SPEAKER_01

Hey, nurse. Yeah. They're waiting to go somewhere. Oh, yep.

SPEAKER_00

But no, it's uh definitely a different world we live in, man. So yeah, tell people the world I grew up in no longer exists. Long gone, dude.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'd lost many. Yeah. So many times over. It's ridiculous.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Now I'm sitting with nothing. Starting over again.

SPEAKER_00

Which I become a pro at. Sadly enough. Which one is one of these things gotta stick eventually, right? Right. So we hope.

SPEAKER_01

This is from drinking and drugging. I fell off a bridge in 1982. Oh wow. 50 foot off a railroad truss.

SPEAKER_00

That's from around here?

SPEAKER_01

New Jersey. Oh. Oh Lord. You guys. Railroad truss across in the Delaware River. So are you currently in a wheelchair? Yeah, I'm wheelchair bound. And then from I'll double check.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe something changed.

SPEAKER_01

Um my transportation messing up. I've got to get away. You know, the medical cab and stuff like that. I had to push myself through the streets like this. And then from moving my leg like this, I mess with the nerve. Wow. Yeah. That didn't stop me. Took a lot to stop me. I was in a in in a hospital. It took me from um eastern Pennsylvania down to Philadelphia for the hospital. And they had me in a road a bit that tilted sideways. And I was in for New Year's Eve. Yeah. And the nurses were across the street in a motel. Yeah. And every time I turned over, I'd see them in the window, waving their beers. Wow. And so then I guess after the party they came over and they brought me a box of beer.

SPEAKER_00

Uh-huh.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Fall off a bridge, almost died, and it's fucking I'm still going.

SPEAKER_00

That's what 30 some odd years ago? Almost 40 years ago. Yeah. Well, I know it's cliche, but you're here for a reason, right? Yeah. Especially after all this time.

SPEAKER_01

So well now Jehovah's got me, so.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, good. My elders. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I can relate to a lot of people that have been through.

unknown

Excuse me, I'm being told that we have a small problem. Um we have to figure out where the plum is women. So I had hair down in the butt.

SPEAKER_01

I just got it cut off about a month and a half ago. Yeah. It's hard to leave it.

SPEAKER_00

You know it's wow. When when I gave up, when I gave up, it was easy. I think it was because I finally reached my breaking point. Like, it wasn't like someone giving me an ultimatum. If you don't drink, yeah. You know what I mean? If you don't quit drinking, you're out of here.

SPEAKER_01

That's where I qu I quit for Jehovah's. Yeah, because it was your choice. Guess where he's got me now. Right. Right. Guess where he's got me. On very extreme water. Yeah. Well, Mali.

SPEAKER_00

Is that in a test on the water? Not a test. He's gonna prove that I can do it. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. So I mean he's he's testing it, he's testing your will. Yeah. Give me goddamn water. Dying up in here.
