In this episode, Taylor Shawver, a College of Charleston graduate, Class of 2017, discusses her role both as a member of the inaugural class of Martin Scholars in 2016-17, and now on the other side of the table as a mentor to current Martin Scholars. Shawver recognized the value of networking at a young age. As a high school student she began preparing vision boards to help establish priorities. As a college freshman, she was one of the youngest to participate in the annual spring break trip to Washington, DC and New York. She recently joined the National Advisory Board of the Department of Communication as one of its youngest members. In her spare time from a demanding job she is attending law school at Syracuse University. In this episode she shares what mentoring has meant to her, and what she recommends for students and recent graduates wanting to benefit from mentorship and networking opportunities.
