Graduate School, Is It Right for You? This is a question we hear all the time from current students about to graduate, as well as from those who have been in the workforce a few years but who are looking for a change. Will a graduate degree help? What if I want to change fields? What are some of the pitfalls? This episode features three Martin Scholars graduates who chose to pursue advanced degrees in different disciplines. They offer unique perspectives on this topic. Berkeley Fisher graduated with the inaugural class of Martin Scholars in 2017 and got a master’s in social work from New York University in 2022. Cat Flanders was a Martin Scholar in the class of 2021. She earned her master’s in education from the College of Charleston in 2023 and is now a teacher. Laurie Fogleman was a Martin Scholar in the class of 2023; she received a master’s degree in communication from the College of Charleston in 2023 and is now a PhD.
