Verse-By-Verse Ministry With Heather Darnall
This podcast is a way for people to dive deep into the Christian Bible with me as I read scripture verse-by-verse from various sections and break them down for a better understanding of the context. But moreover, to have a better relationship with Jesus. Additionally, I believe this podcast is a good starting point for anyone new to the Holy Bible, but is still good for anyone who is already well-versed.
Now, please take note that I'm not a scholar. I didn't go to seminary school, I don't have any sort of qualifications that would highlight myself as some kind of guru; I'm simply a seeker for the truth of God. He gives me what I need to make this podcast according to His liking since it's technically His podcast. Therefore, I'm just managing it to the best of my human ability.
But the main reason I started this podcast, is because first off, no one read the Bible to me growing up. Secondly, so often verses are taken out of context and rearranged for our self-will, or even thought as not applicable to us given the length of time that has passed when it was written. And when we do, or think like that by not seeking the full council of God, we're only going to feel lonely, misguided, even deceived.
Thus is why I wanted to take the advice of the apostle Paul when he wrote his letter to Timothy (2 Timothy 2:15) and told him, "do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth." Pay attention to that key word there, "rightly." So that being said, hopefully you'll find this podcast helpful and insightful. Moreover, that you're continuously rooted in your faith while marching forward in life having more confidence in the Bible and what it's really saying to us as well as how we can make it applicable in our day-to-day lives.

Obedience Is Not Meant To Be Comfortable
Obedience is a hands-down, key element in our Christian walk, yes? The only thing is, often times - and usually without realizing it - we just want other people to be obedient towards us. But if we are obedient, we'll do what is asked, but only if we know how things will end up - as in be assured in some way that it's going to benefit us, thus we want to approve what we're getting into before we act in that "obedience."
That being said, I want to discuss what true obedience looks like; that it's something that's not meant to be comfortable, rather uncomfortable in which today's message stems from the Gospel of Luke 5:1-11. This will also be our launching example of several examples throughout the Bible showing us what Jesus expects from His disciples, i.e. those who would want to come after, or follow Him. This is to not only demonstrate a pattern that hopefully serves as a major wake-up call in our spiritual lives, but will hopefully lead others to live more faithfully in uncomfortable obedience as well since many of us aren't actually obedient the way we think we are, therefore maintaining a stagnant spiritual walk that could ultimately cost our eternal life if we don't repent.
Please note that this is my personal interpretation of the scripture to the best of my current knowledge and understanding. I encourage anyone to please check and verify as the scripture encourages believers to do so. There may be times where I have overlooked and/or misunderstood information by mistake which is why verifying is important if you feel lead by the Holy Spirit to do so.
