Welcome to the Go Big With Gibb podcast, where we talk to professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs about their big wins. Hey guys, and welcome to this episode of Go Big With Gibb. I'm Gibb Irons, your host for the podcast. Thank you for joining us today. Today we're going to talk about how to build self-confidence, and I'm going to give you three easy steps that you can implement in your daily life to build confidence. My experience has been that confidence ebbs and flows, and what I mean by that is some days I wake up with a tremendous amount of confidence and I feel like I can overcome any obstacle, and I feel like I can overcome any obstacle. In other days, I might wake up lacking confidence and really trying to avoid difficult situations and challenges. Ultimately, what I've learned is that maintaining a high level of confidence comes down to doing very small things correctly day in and day out. So here are the three easy steps. Number one learn how to say no. Saying no is critically important to maintaining your mental health, but it's also important in terms of achieving your goals. This means that you've got to tune out distractions and you've got to really stay hyper-focused on the most important tasks that you've got to do. If someone invites you to do something, just because you don't have another meeting that day that directly conflicts with that invitation, it doesn't mean that you're free. You've still got work to do and you can still say no. I've got this time planned for my work and really, quite frankly, you don't need to give any explanation. It's just easy to say no, I can't do it, I'm busy. This episode of Go Big with Gibb is brought to you by Irons Equity. Speaker 1:Today, we're going to talk about how to build self-confidence, and I'm going to give you three easy steps that you can implement in your daily life to build confidence. My experience has been that confidence ebbs and flows, and what I mean by that is, some days I wake up with a tremendous amount of confidence and I feel like I can overcome any obstacle. In other days, I might wake up lacking confidence and really trying to avoid difficult situations and challenges. Ultimately, what I've learned is that maintaining a high level of confidence comes down to doing very small things correctly day in and day out. So here are the three easy steps.
Speaker 1:Number one learn how to say no.

Speaker 1:This means that you've got to tune out distractions and you've got to really stay hyper focused on the most important tasks that you've got to do.
Speaker 1:If someone invites you to do something just because you don't have another meeting that day that directly conflicts with that invitation, it doesn't mean that you're free. You've still got work to do and you can still say no. I've got this time planned for my work and really, quite frankly, you don't need to give any explanation. It's just easy to say no, I can't do it, I'm busy. Number two if you want to build self-confidence, outwork everyone else. And really, when you're trying to outwork other people, it's not just about saying I'm going to outwork everybody or putting in a certain amount of time. What it really requires is having an extreme amount of discipline. Kobe Bryant is one of my absolute favorite athletes, and one of the things I loved about Kobe was his mindset. He wanted to practice more than everybody else. If you're working harder than everybody else, then you're going to feel like you deserve to receive more, and that feeling will manifest itself. I'm a big believer that you really can manifest things into reality.
Speaker 1:The third thing that you can do on a daily basis to build confidence is keep the commitments that you make to yourself. This is a lot easier said than done. If you say you're going to get up early in the morning, get up early in the morning. If you say you're going to the gym, go. If you say that you're going to make 50 sales calls today, don't leave the office until you've made 60 sales calls. If you do those things day in and day out with consistency, you're gonna gain an advantage every single day on other people. So remember, when you're trying to build confidence, it's about doing little things on a daily basis and being consistent. Look, if you take massive action, you're either going to learn or you're going to succeed. Thank you, guys for joining me today. I look forward to seeing you on our next episode, take care.
