• The surprising benefits I experienced after scaling back: better sleep, reduced anxiety, and mental clarity

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Go Big With Gibb podcast, where we talk to professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs about their big wins. Welcome to this episode of Go Big With Gibb, the podcast that challenges you to think bigger, live bolder and break free from the limits that you've outgrown. I'm your host, gibb Irons. Today's episode is about something heavy. Not metaphorically. I'm talking about the one thing that you're carrying, the one thing that's slowing you down. It's time to drop the rock. We all have one. Maybe it's a habit, maybe it's a belief, maybe it's a dependency. You've convinced yourself you need just to function, but whatever it is, it's heavy and it's holding you back.

Speaker 1:

For me, that rock was caffeine. I've been drinking high-ane espresso for many, many years, every day, multiple times. I used it to fuel my mornings, power through my afternoons and push past fatigue. But eventually it caught up with me. My sleep began to suffer, my anxiety crept in, I was wired, but not well, and, worst of all, I started realizing that caffeine wasn't helping me win. It was just helping me cope. So I made a change. I scaled back significantly and, yes, it was tough for a few days, but what I got in return? Calm clarity, better sleep, lower stress, more control over my mind and my energy.

Speaker 1:

So here's the question what's your rock? What's the one thing that you keep carrying, even though deep down, you know you need to let it go? Maybe it's caffeine, maybe it's alcohol, maybe it's fear, maybe it's a relationship, maybe it's a belief that this is just how life has to be. Whatever it is, I want to challenge you, not tomorrow, not next month, but this week. Drop it, make challenge you. Not tomorrow, not next month, but this week. Drop it, make a change.

Speaker 1:

You don't have to drop it forever, but long enough to break the dependency, long enough to remember who's in control, long enough to feel what it's like to live unburdened, because carrying that rock might feel normal, but normal is not the goal. Free is the goal, alive is the goal, big is the goal. So let go drop the rock, make space for clarity, make room for strength, make time for change. Until next time, I'm Gib Irons. Set down what's slowing you down and go big. Thank you for listening to this episode of Go Big with Gib. If you haven't already, go follow us on social media at GibbIrons. We'll see you next time.
