SPEAKER_00:

You either win or you learn. Welcome to the Go Big with Gibb Podcast, where we talk to professionals, business owners, and entrepreneurs about their big wins. Go with the Welcome back to Go Big With Gibb. I'm your host, Gib Irons. Today I want to talk to you about something that every high performer faces. What to do when you give everything you have and still don't get the result that you wanted. I just finished a two-week jury trial in a medical malpractice wrongful death case. My trial partner and I worked tirelessly. Four weeks of trial prep, two weeks in the courtroom. I handled the opening, the closing, and the direct examination of our client. We put in a tremendous effort and we tried a very good case. But here's the truth we didn't get the result that we were seeking. The jury verdict didn't go our way. Now, I could look at that outcome as a negative. I could dwell on the loss, but that's not how champions think. Kobe Bryant once said, I don't lose. I either win or I learn. That mindset changes everything. Because when you approach setbacks as learning experiences, suddenly you can't lose. You either get the outcome you wanted or you walk away sharper, smarter, and stronger. And that's exactly how I see this trial. Even though the verdict wasn't what we hoped for, we proved that we were at the peak of our game. Our trial skills were excellent. We battled, we stood in the arena, and we delivered. Most importantly, we learned. We learned what worked. We learned how to refine our strategies. And now we're more dangerous than ever. We're ready to jump back into the ring. So here's the takeaway for you. Whatever your field, whatever challenge you're facing, don't let the outcome define you. Let the effort, the preparation, and the growth define you. When you hit a setback, don't call it a loss. Call it a lesson because that lesson is the fuel that makes you unstoppable for the next round. Thanks to tuning in to this episode of Go Big With Gibb, I'm Gib Irons reminding you to take every negative, flip it into a positive, and use it to build a life without limits.
