Speaker 1:

Well, hello there and welcome to the King's perspective with King Chill, episode 7. Yes, that's right, episode 7. Who would have thought I would have made it all the way to episode 7? Well, me, of course, I didn't think so, but you know, to you faithful listeners, you definitely like the info that I am sharing with you and keep coming back for more information which helps the show grow and helps me grow. So I want to again thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules and listening to my show.

Speaker 1:

Well, as always, the show centers around me talking about all things pop culture for the week. So let's go ahead and start this off here with film. So some of the most popular films as of right now with IMDB and Rot Tomatoes are Hunger Games, the Battle of Songbirds and Snakes, killers of the Flower of Moon, wonka, the Marvels. That's one film that I definitely am sad that I have not checked out yet, as I am a lover of all things MCU. I have not gotten around to watching that film just yet, and it's not about Captain Marvel. I just feel that the actor kind of playing Captain Marvel just doesn't translate well or is not giving quite what we need of Captain Marvel. So it's either this is what we're stuck with or, as time goes on, brie Larson will continue to slowly blossom into coming into her own and making Captain Marvel her own. So that's what we can hope for.

Speaker 1:

Five Night Type Freddy's if you're familiar with the PC game and console game, the last year turned it into a film on Peacock. I have you have to check it out. Obenheimer, another Christopher Nolan film, some of those historical time period films, and usually when it comes to those for him, I usually don't check those films out. That film and Dunkirk are two films that I have not checked out from Christopher Nolan. I'll probably be more eager or on the side of watching Obenheimer than Dunkirk. Napoleon, number seven, number eight, exorcist the believer I'm staying away from that. Godzilla minus one and Taylor Swift the heiress tour. I would not be surprised, also, with Super Bowl looming in what two weeks, if the NFL asked her to do something they could breathe cameo or far as performance wise, because, if memory serves me correct, jay-z is a part of Super Bowl, he's part of the NFL, but they've designated him to Super Bowl performances Best way to put it. And he's a musician, she's a musician. I wouldn't be surprised if he links up with her and asked her to kind of maybe do something for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

New release films we have a film called Lisa Frankenstein. My synopsis here breaks it down for you as the story is set in 1989 follows a misunderstood teenage goth girl named Lisa Swallows. During a lightning storm, lisa reanimates a handsome corpse from the Victorian era and starts to rebuild him into the man of her dreams using a broken tanning machine in her garage. So modern twist on the Frankenstein story. So should be interesting. Turning Red by Disney Pixar. The story revolves around Mai Lee, who is torn between staying her mother's beautiful daughter and the changes of adolescence. And as the changes weren't enough, whenever she gets overly excited, she transforms into a giant red panda. Mai's emotions take on a life of her own. Whenever she gets too stressed or excited about something, mai triggers a strange radical metamorphosis.

Speaker 1:

I checked out the film when it first premiered on Disney Plus. Very entertaining, I definitely wouldn't have any knocks against it. What they're actually doing is all those films that they released during the pandemic About 2020 and early 2021. They're now making their theatrical release, which they were still films being put out during that time frame, which, I'll pardon me it's like I don't know why they can just released it then and just seeing what kind of money they could get, and then turn around and put it back on Disney Plus to get more revenue. But then I also understand the pandemic, the restrictions, so, but now you know, roughly three, three and a half years later is being released. So I would say definitely, if you have the opportunity time and don't have anything going on, I would definitely check out Turning Red Drift.

Speaker 1:

The film follows Jacqueline, a Liberian refugee who flees to Greece Island, the Greek island, then develops a friendship with an American tour guide while coping with her past. The film explores Jacqueline's daily struggles for survival and her past that continues to haunt her. The narrative gradually reveals Jacqueline's tragic secret, providing deep insight into her life. I've seen this trailer here for this film and what I will say is, again, nothing's new under the sun. It's a bit of a modern version of Bonnie and Clyde. The film revolves around Baron, who reminisces to his prison cellmate Otis, about his relationship with Marblide and their ill-fated bank robbery. Otis, who has a long history of prison breaks, and Baron hatch a plan to escape from prison and reunite Baron with Marblide. So the first trailer is very revealing. It definitely showed you what you're going to get into with the film. I'm looking for another trailer, though to give a little bit more, a little bit more backstory, because sometimes a second trailer gives you a little bit more and then usually by the second trailer you're either sold or you're not.

Speaker 1:

On the film Suncoast. The film is written and directed by Lord Chen, based on Chen's life experience from the early 2000s, and it tells a semi-auto biography story of a teenager who was caring for her brother, along with her audacious mother, strikes up an unlikely friendship with a eccentric activist who was protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time. So I think, from what I've seen on the trailer, that the activist is also protesting, something that coincides with her brother's medical issue. If I have it correct from what I've seen on the trailer, the trailer is kind of not too revealing, because you know most trailers want to hook you in, but they don't want to give everything away. So from what I've seen, though, it looks like it definitely will be a good film to check out the Taste of Things.

Speaker 1:

The film is based on a popular French novel, the Passionate of Cour, set in France in the 19th century. The film follows the life of Duden Beaufort, a permanent chef, and his personal cook and lover, eugenia. The film opens with a 38-minute scene showing two people and their two young assistants preparing a meal in the big country kitchen. The camera never stops moving, capturing the intricate process of prepping a multiple course simultaneously. So if you're a fan of cooking and cooking films, this one will be right up your alley. And lastly, here we have a film called Upgraded. The film follows Anna, an aspiring art intern, who is invited on a last-minute work trip to London by her super boss, meeting the handsome and wealthy William on a plane. He mistakes Anna for her boss, a white lie that sets off a glamorous chain of events, romance and opportunity, until her lie threatens to surface. Yeah, faking it till you make it. Huh, I can never get you anywhere in life. Well, for some it does, but in this case, in this film, it doesn't get you too far.

Speaker 1:

On to one of my other favorites here that I've just created films with replay value the Godfather. I've talked about this before in previous episodes, but we're talking about the Godfather number one. Okay, so it reads here as the film chronicles the Corleone family, a powerful mafia clan in New York from 1945 to 1955. The film courses on the transformation of Michael Corleone from a reluctant family outsider to a ruthless mafia boss. It tells a family, tells a story of family power and conflict between the old world values and the new ways. So if you've never seen the Godfather, I have, and just without giving too much away, like I said, you have Michael who basically, when a film opens and starting with a wedding and if I remember correctly the wedding was Connie's wedding, which is Michael's sister, and Michael comes back from war to see his sister's wedding and see the family and as his time is there, I wouldn't say he gets into anything. But he settles in back into America after the war and as time goes on he slowly starts integrating back into the family and the family business, family businesses. He'll gotten gains and illegal activities that you know the mafia would partake in and then, as the film goes on, you're seeing it as an outsider through the lens of each individual, their growth, and mainly Michael, the most reluctant one becomes the mafia. Don Boss, which created a sequel for the Godfather 2 and 3, which we don't talk about.

Speaker 1:

Alright, another film that has great replay value. Enter the Dragon, a highly proficient martial artist and instructor from Hong Kong, is instructed by a British intelligent agency to infiltrate an island Owned by the master criminal Han Han, who learned his martial arts At the same time as Lee, who is Bruce. Lee holds a high profile martial arts tournament Every three years. Lee is persuaded to attend a tournament and gain evidence of Han's involvement in drug trafficking and prostitution. I've seen probably, bits and pieces of Enter the Dragon, but if you're really keen on Bruce Lee maybe now, or if it's just something that I'm already talking about, something that you already know, then for being a big Bruce Lee fan, then I'm giving your guy kudos here.

Speaker 1:

With this film, zoolander, at the peak of his career, zoolander is a three-time male model of the year. However, his world is turned upside down and he loses the award to the rising star Hansell. Feeling delusional and rejected by his family, zoolander retires from modeling. So Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson star in this film and, as it says, ben Stiller's character is the ill-fated model and they have Owen Wilson come in and he's this new hotshot coming in and he's got a signature look that's better than Zoolander's look, which I believe it was called Blue Steel, which was this weird face that he would make after he would do some type of move. You look at the camera, get the blue steel and it wild audience. Well, after a while that became a thing that was no more and they needed some new, fresh, young blood with Hansell. So you get to see the rise, the fall and then rise again of Zoolander, and I believe it created a sequel as well.

Speaker 1:

Independence Day, will Smith's film. That's all I really remember. I think this one came out in about 95, 96. It was a big box office smash for Will Smith. So, as the plot of the film revolves around desperate group of individuals who converge in Nevada desert in the aftermath of worldwide attack by powerful aliens who other people of the world are trying to launch a counter attack on July 4th, which happens to be Independence Day, so essentially that's just what it is. There wasn't really too much going on in that film other than people start seeing these alien spaceships show up at different turns in different states, blocking out the sun, essentially, and certain historical monuments are destroyed or landmarks, which got people infuriated and decided to take action. And whatever they had, they decided to bear arms and started going back at the aliens, and it took one crazy local man, who predicted all this to happen, to fly a jet into the mothership and explode it, which basically killed all the other aliens. So that's kind of just like how it went down. But for the most part I want to give too much away. But for the most part that's the film in the net show Another one of my favorites here by Christopher Muller Inception states.

Speaker 1:

Cobb and his team use experimental dream and sharing technology to perform corporate espionage. The film explores the boundaries between dream and reality and its journey into the mind. That presents a complex narrative structure with multiple layers of reality. Yeah, like to this day with this film, it's still hard to know the ending. If Cobb, it's hard to know what was real and what was fake. Now, when they're setting up things for the experiment, then at that point you know that's real. But it's hard to know when did they come out of the dream state and go back into reality, especially with the ending? The Minority Report.

Speaker 1:

The film is set in Washington DC and Northern Virginia in the year 2054, where a pre-crime and specialized police department apprehended criminals by using for knowledge provided by three psychics called pre-conqs. The story combines elements of tech, norm who done it thriller and science fiction genres as well as traditional chase film. So seeing this film was it was definitely something I've never seen in my lifetime, where my only biggest takeaway for the film I don't know if it'll be a plight hole or not is these psychics that were hooked up to a machine in the water tank, basically, were seeing all these things happening in real time. But my only problem with that is things shape the future. It can be one or two things that can make somebody go off and commit this crime. But let's say, for instance, this person's having a bad day and they get into an argument and it sets off a chain of events. Well, let's say the reverse the argument ever happens. Then, therefore, he doesn't go off and set off this chain of events of crimes. So then now we're arresting somebody based off what we thought would happen and what if we didn't let it play out, to see if it never happened or did happen. That was my only problem with that film. So you had people being arrested just based off a vision that may happen or may not happen. So it was almost a 50-50. Let's see.

Speaker 1:

And lastly, jurassic Park, one of my greatest films to see by Steven Spielberg the closest thing that you will get to seeing a dinosaur reanimated, and at the time the CGI was great. I think it still holds up today how the first film I want. The businessman and a team of genetic scientists have created a wildlife park of the extinct dinosaurs. And the businessman is Dr Hammond invites a group of experts including Dr Alan Grant, his assistant, dr Ellie Sadler and Dr Ian Malcolm and Dr yeah, dr Hammond, sorry lawyer Donald Genaro to ensure the park safety. Hammers grandchildren Lex and Tim also join the group for the tour on the park. So at the time the park was running great.

Speaker 1:

From the film everything seemed great. I mean you're getting a tour in a car where you're getting to see some of the dinosaurs enclosed so you can't really get too close them because they're, you know, summer dangers like your T-Rex and velociraptor and some of the other dinosaurs who were free to roam about. So when you're seeing it on film, you know triceratops, broccoli, a source you know those things so that you've heard of or in teen and books, and then you're seeing it on film. Look as real as possible. It's this mind-blowing but, as the nervous medley of the film, dr Ian Malcolm says that it's chaos, and it sure was. Chaos ensued because when you watch the film, all the glitters isn't cold and it's like, oh, this is great, but let's see the other spectrum, let's see the velociraptors, let's see the T-Rex. And you don't see the velociraptors because they're very sneaky cunning so they're hiding, waiting for their moment of strike to get free. It's instinctive. And then when we do see the T-Rex it's just like yo, like this is crazy at some type of giant lizard bird that can move at 60 miles per hour. It was crazy. But overall that film was great to see the movie theaters and still holds up today with great repeat replay value for me.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so now we're gonna move on here to genre of music. So here's what's happening in music as we speak right now. Paul McCartney and the wings have released a bare bones version of band on the run on his 50th anniversary. So former Beatle Nate created the band of wings and still has success.

Speaker 1:

Britney Spears has praised Justin Timberlake's new music, sanctified and apologized for offending him on her memoir. I cannot think of what the memoir was called, but she definitely. She definitely did go in on Justin, but you know a lot of misconceptions about the relationship, so I guess she felt she needed to clear the air. Ariana Grande, sorry, has teased her new album track list for eternal sunshine, due to release on March 8th with the lead single, yes. And speaking of Justin Timberlake, they viewed his new gospel flavored song sanctified, with Toby Nwange from pronouncing his correct last thing correctly on Saturday Night Live. I've been hearing nothing but positive praise on that song. So looks like Justin's trying to get true back to form of his prime back in early 2000, from that era of justified. Kelly Clarkson continues to rock, continues her rock era as she's in YouTube's mysterious ways. I can't envision anybody else singing that song but Bono. So I still have yet to check out that song, her rendition by Kelly Clarkson. So I'm gonna have to get a chance to check that out.

Speaker 1:

Richard Mark called out Contragoer for talking through his performance. So if anything, that just let you guys know some individuals do not take kindly to concert goers taking video, snapping pictures or talking during performances. You know it's it's. It's very intimate for some of these concert not concert goers, but the musicians. So they require a certain level of respect and tenderness. Let's see who this was cooking all during I want to say the KC chiefs playoff run here.

Speaker 1:

So this is about Taylor Swift, says Taylor Swift's names become unsearchable on X or Twitter after an AI generated explicit photo scandal. Now allegedly Zevbear of 4chan, twitter and Reddit was involved in the controversy of sharing AI generated pictures of Taylor Swift. These images, which were suggestive and offensive to many, circulated across the social media platform and attracted significant attention. Now I have I'm not following and he's not following me but I have, through the algorithm, ran across Zevbear and I will say he's definitely a clout chaser, someone who's trying to get views for his tweets, so it doesn't surprise me. Now, I didn't know, though, that these, when finding out about this, I didn't know about Zevbear was the one who was responsible well, allegedly responsible for this, but I will say this if it is true, it would surprise me again, based off of what I've seen as interaction with others upon Twitter or hex. It is very controversial. All right on YouTube, some of the trending music videos yes, and by Harriana Grande, can't get enough by Jennifer Lopez, bzrp music sessions number 58 by young Miko, hello by Black Pumas, j Christ by Lil Nas X and face-to-face by Kenzie.

Speaker 1:

Emerging genres experimental electronic music is gaining popularity with this innovative use of sound manipulation and unconventional production techniques. Artists like Akara and Sophie are your main contributors. Afrobeat fusion combines elements of traditional African music and contemporary genres of hip hop and R&B, artists that are leading the way or charging the way for the sound, or burner boy and this kid. The oh so genre that emerged in the 90s is experiencing revival in 2024 with artists like her. Her is spelled HER and Anderson Pack. Now Anderson Pack. To me I don't know if I would really consider him Nielso. Her, yes, but Niels, but I'm sorry. Anderson Pack falls in the realm of more just, traditional R&B, more modern R&B and hip hop and Dream Pop, characterized by its ethereal and sound scape sound. Artists like Beach House and Alvaways are leading the charge for that sound. And lastly, trap Metal combines elements of trap music and heavy metal, creating a unique blend of aggressive beats and intense vocals. Artists like Scarlord sorry and Ghostmate are leading the charge.

Speaker 1:

So that I have not heard. That will be very interesting to hear, because you had, in the 80s, rap and rock Kid Rock, bc Boys. Even Rendy MC did it for a time or two on some of their albums and it wasn't bad. So trap music, heavy 808s and then heavy metal music. You think of your traditional heavy metal music. Artists like Pantera, metallica, ac, dc Fused with trap. Artists like Migos, ti, gz how is that going to sound? So it's very interesting to see that that's a new genre emerging and fusing those two genres together and seeing how that would sound.

Speaker 1:

Now, my favorite thing to do here is break down artists from a designated state or artist. So this time around we're going to look into the state of Ohio and share some spotlight on these artists or bands. So Built to Spill, one of Idaho's most influential and enduring bands. Built to Spill's imaginative blend of indie rock and melodic layered guitar work has earned them a distinction of being one of Ohio's finest musical experts. Paul Revere and the Raiders formed in the early 1960s and Boise, idaho. Paul Revere and the Raiders were one of the first rock bands to emerge from Idaho.

Speaker 1:

Josh Ritter, born in Moscow, idaho, ritter, discovered his love for American country music at the age of nine. Gregory Peacock, born in 1935 in Burley, idaho, is a jazz double bassist. Gary Peacock lived out his life in the jazz scene. Okay, curtis Stingers, the 90s hit songwriter. Curtis Stingers, was born and raised in Boise, idaho. Elaine Jewel, an American songwriter, elaine Jewel was born in Boise, idaho, and plays country, blues, gospel and American music. And lastly, rounding this out, is Doug Marshage from pronouncing his last name correctly. If you're listening, doug, sorry, you can correct me. On my next podcast, as another American singer, musician from Boise, idaho, doug features as a lead singer in the guitarist rock band Built to Spill, so he's one of the more prominent Idaho musicians coming from that group, built to Spill. All right for the next genre here sports.

Speaker 1:

Some unfortunate news here for the NHL. It says Carl Foot, michael McLeod of the New Jersey Devils and Dylan Dube of the Calvary Flames and Carter Hart of the Philadelphia Flyers have been directed to surrender on sexual assault charges. From what I've seen on this here is this took place roughly about six years ago, I believe, and most of these guys were just turning 18. But the story's still developing. Not much is known other than what's here. But it's not a good look for those teams that have these artists not artists these players here on their team, because this type of controversy is something that you don't want while the season is starting and you're making the playoff push, you know, because now at this point, reporters are going to be asking you more about these allegations? Then, hey, where do you see you know, strategy wise, what you need to do for the playoff push or for the season? You know you don't want to be answering questions that aren't related to your team and the sport.

Speaker 1:

On to the NFL. Indianapolis Coast quarterback Gardner Miss you, I can never get his last name correctly but was named to the 2000 and 24 Pro Bowl games as a replacement for Lamar Jackson. I'm not really sure what's going on there with Lamar, because I don't believe he got injured during his game between the Chiefs for the AFC Championship. But apparently he's not going to be playing, so you've got Gardner playing in his place. The AFC Championship game between Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens, where Lamar Jackson was playing, he ended with the Kansas City Chiefs 17 to Baltimore's score of 10. With this win, the Kansas I can't even get it out on the tongue tied the Kansas City Chiefs head to the Super Bowl. So I definitely predicted the Baltimore Ravens to upset the Chiefs, which at a point in time it looked like it could happen. But unfortunately I'm not going to put it all on Lamar, because Lamar can make the plays, quite like Patrick my homes did, to keep the play in play to keep going.

Speaker 1:

Their defense was decent. I thought it was going to be a high scoring game in favor of both teams and ultimately Baltimore Winnie. But what we know of Patrick Mahomes, he's very innovative and high scoring, throwing touchdowns. They held me to just about, I think, two touchdowns. That was about it. No, actually just a touchdown, because I think he threw one to Travis Kelsey and then Pachanko ran in for one. So that was it. And then the field goal. So, with that being said, it wasn't quite as far gone or going to be a blowout like I thought it would be. And then, for the NFC side, the NFC championship game between San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions concluded with the San Francisco 49ers 34, while the Detroit Lions had a score of 31. But this win, san Francisco 49ers will face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Speaker 1:

Now, that game and was for Detroit to win, no offense. But like that game showed me, I was wrong about the San Francisco 49ers. I said that overall San Francisco for the year. If you look at their record, they had been steamrolling through teams and winning. Might have had a loss or two, but the Detroit really put it on them. They came out scoring right away, capitalizing on the defensive end, and it just really came down to bad decision making when it came to the head coach opting to go for field goals, two at that, which were a difference maker, because the score is 34 to 31. If the Detroit decided to kick those two field goals instead of going for it on fourth and whatever, then you're looking at the score being 36 to 34 in favor of the Detroit Lions, and then now Detroit would be in the Super Bowl. And if they're in the Super Bowl there's a good chance. I feel like they would have given Kansas City a chance to achieve some profit. But you know they're talking about all Detroit, meaning we'll see you next year. But you know, nothing's promising NFL, especially getting back to that point. It's really hard. Now the Chiefs they make it look easy. This is going to be their fourth appearance in five years, so you just have to really have a good foundation, with all the players being grounded, believing in the team and from the owner to management and the coach all in sync. That's how you get to four Super Bowls out of five years.

Speaker 1:

Diverse hiring the NFL has recently expanded the Rooney Rule to require teams to interview at least two external minority candidates for head job coaches and general manager jobs. I like the Rooney Rule, I like what it's doing, but I don't want it to be just a numbers game where they're just like oh we got to hire you because you're a minority to fill a quota. Like, if you're going to interview the person you're going to hire, make sure you're hiring them for their expertise and their know how, not just because I got to fill a quota, I'm going to take you. Because what you'll find out a lot of times is when they do do that way, the person being hired does not have any input, you can't get his insight and basically it's just like a cheerleader on the sideline.

Speaker 1:

The NBA Victor Wimanama and Chet Holmgren are headlining the 2024 NBA Rising Star participants. The Gulf State Warriors, with a 19 of 24 record past the halfway point of the 2023-2024 NBA season, are seeing their odds of a meaningful NBA trade-delined deals daily decrease. I mean, unless they're giving up Steph Curry, no one wants to essentially touch that team at all. Not at all. Devin Booker and Luca Dottage have become the fifth pair of players to score 60 plus points on the same day. Luca was 73 and Devin Booker was 62. I talked about that on the last episode. What Luca did was phenomenal. I mean he was almost on the cusp of probably scoring 81, tying Kobe. That would have been a feat. Lebron James and Yate Sintacupo will captain the West and the E-Squads respectively at the 2024 All-Star game. Lebron James surpasses Karim Agiljabbar again, this time for most All-Star selections in the NBA history.

Speaker 1:

Wes Unsell Jr will take on front office role as the wizard search for a head coach. So he's moving up out of the head coaching job into the front office because he still like his expertise and he'll probably help find a coach as well. My choice would be Mark Jackson. I mean, he's still out there. I know he's doing analyst work, but Mark Jackson is still available. Guys, let's get him, let's see.

Speaker 1:

And then onto the MLB the cover athlete for MLB the Show 24 is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He is a homerun king, homerun derby champion and now the new face of MLB the Show. He was revealed as the MLB the Show cover athlete. The Blue J Slugger joins the long line of superstars to be featured on the front of MLB's flagship video game. So props to him. All right, let's see.

Speaker 1:

The mini lives of Martha Stewart explore Martha Stewart's rise to success and the fall from grace. So it's probably going to be a time period well, not a time period, but it's probably going to show a documentary on that time period of when she was caught for insider trading. What that looked like. You couldn't really get cameras in jail, so maybe her experience is talking about that and then after she came out of jail and what she was able to do, I know she had a blossoming relationship into the TV show on BH1 with Snoop Dogg. I think it ran for at least maybe two seasons. It was like Martha and Snoop. They would get together weekly and share their favorite recipes and cook it live in the studio audience and then invite some of their friends that were celebrities as well. It was a pretty interesting show. The Love Island All Stars famous former Islanders return to paradise hoping to find romance the second time around. This time it's in South Africa, feud the Capotes, and Swan Capote is confident to society's most elite women until his act of betrayal destroys everything. So they're showing that on FX. I think that will be premiering here shortly.

Bander Pump Rules, season 11, episode 1, titled Notes on a Scandal. So this Episode 1 is picking back up from Season 10 of Bander Pump Rules and it basically shows the cast reeling from the fallout of Scandal Ball. The episode focuses on the women rebuilding their empire without their axis. So we have Ariana Maddox, tom Sandoval's Scandal's breakup still playing a major role in the plot and Lala Kent dealing with her breakup as well from her famous movie, exact Randall. But the overall episode was just kind of it wasn't boring, I would say, but it's just basically kind of catching you back up on everything that was going on at that point in time, some of the things I kind of knew, because it was just like a basically a pickup from the end of Season 10, the last episode. There wasn't a reunion and how everybody's kind of just recuperating and dealing with things based on Tom Sandoval's mishap or misgiving or his decision. So it'll be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out here.

Going forward TV shows with how I replay by Future Rama, the Wire, breaking Bad Everybody Hates Chris. It says the show is a family sitcom pattern on Chris Rock's recollection of his teenage years, growing up in the 1980s with a wholesome, tight-knit African-American family while living in a drug and gang infestated Bethra Stuyverson neighborhood of Brooklyn, new York, and also attending a Crosstown All-White public school. It's loosely based on his life, but if you would have asked me when the Oscar slap happened if that was a skit, I definitely would have said yeah, because that same mishap I've seen on his show Everybody Hates Chris, where he's getting beat up, bullied and this is like oh, that's just Chris. That's typical stuff happening there, but he definitely could have fooled him. He could have fooled me and told me that I was a part of the show or a skit, because it's just the misgivings of Chris Rock at that point in time. Parks and Recreation, adventure Time and Steven Universe all those shows have great replay value. So those that I've listed definitely is something that you'd want to check out.

And lastly, here on to video games. The world's most popular video game is a huge mistake. Power World is a blatant looting of Nintendo's long-running Pokemon series. I have a much better game, but it appeals to the worst possible parts of humanity. I've seen this thing blow up like high cakes. I haven't yet got a chance to put my hands on Power World to see what all the fuss is, so I'm probably going to look at YouTube and see some gameplay walkthrough to see just like how great this game is. More sad news for layoffs. It says here 31 days into 2024, there are now 6,100 plus video game layoffs announced, so it's a sign of the times. It's just priorities of people what they want but they don't want, and it just looks like the sales aren't what they used to be for video games and video game consoles. So keep you posted here, and for all those going through the struggle of layoffs, and my condolences.

Leisure or workaholic the life of a video game content creator, it says here. For the most part, for video game content creators, the path to become a social media influencer is filled with pay gaps, burnout, unpredictability. In addition to financial challenges, content creators also face other challenges, for difficulties such as finding inspiration, managing time and knowing how to monetize their work. Yeah, it's true, because sometimes there's just streamers that'll get up there and just stream just whatever they want, and sometimes that content is great and sometimes that content is not so hot. Finding the time with your work schedule to get up there and stream. And then that inspiration to find something new and innovative compared to your counterparts that are doing the same thing. So you know what I would say it's, honestly, it's okay to take time off. Try to figure out what's the next lane or what's the next wave you can create for content creation for video games and not following trends of everybody else. That's, you know, streaming one particular popular video game. You know. Go back and maybe do something retro that's different than what's being streamed at this moment.

And then I want to show some spotlight here on one video game that just released on Friday, february 2nd. It's getting mixed reviews but I think it's very unique take on a video game, here from the villain perspective. It's called Suicide Squad Heals. The Justice League Now says the game is set in the same universe as Batman Arkham. The series follows the story of supervillains, captain Boomerang, deadshot, harley Quinn and King Shark, who are assembled by Amanda Waller to stop the alien invader Brainiac and kill members of the Justice League. Now they're killing them only because of brainwashed. Now, the only harp that I have about it is that it doesn't show how Brainiac infiltrated Planet Earth and also brainwashed Batman, superman, flash, green Lantern and one of the ones that was able to stay out of the brainwashing technique, brainiac. But I just would have liked to see how that invasion happened, and that's one thing that I did not see happen. The game's story takes place five years after the events of Batman Arkham Knight. The Suicide Squad comes under attack from Green Lantern upon reaching Metropolis before the Flash stops him, but it gravely wounded gravely wounded into the process and is captured by brainwashed Batman to undergo the same treatment. The game's story is short, clocking in about 10 hours, probably even less than that If you focus on the main mission, but developers of Rock City, who created the game, has made it clear that they plan on supporting the game for an extended period of time, and what they mean by that is they're gonna probably every so often, maybe every so many months they'll release new content for the game, which are called DLCs download content to add more to the story mode.

Speaker 1:

So maybe they'll have some type of origin story within there where they will show where Brainiac invades Earth, brainwashes the justicesly interns and evil. I have seen that they also intend to add more characters like the Joker and probably more justicesly characters that you can play that are not playable because, as of right now, you're playing as the villains. So I think there'll probably be a way where they'll switch the game and let you play as the superheroes I also see that happening and then probably more story content, with maybe another villain dropping in besides Brainiac, maybe like um, you know? Or maybe Joker could be a villain as well, on top of being a playable character, but someone of the rogues gallery of just super villains that would come in. So overall, though, from what I've seen with the gameplay cutscenes. There was roughly about three hours. The game looks great, um, so at some point I probably may try to test it out and see what all the fuss is about.

Speaker 1:
