ethics, the four points for Costco."},{"startTime":139.666,"endTime":140.791,"body":"First"},{"startTime":140.791,"endTime":142.208,"body":"is obey the law."},{"startTime":143.375,"endTime":144.041,"body":"Makes sense."},{"startTime":144.041,"endTime":146.666,"body":"You don't want to do things unethical or in."},{"startTime":165.166,"endTime":168.0,"body":"So it's basically take care of our customers."},{"startTime":168.0,"endTime":168.875,"body":"They call them the"},{"startTime":211.0,"endTime":214.291,"body":"former CEO when asked about these, he said,"},{"startTime":214.291,"endTime":219.0,"body":"“Well, if we do these four, our shareholders are going to benefit significantly.”"},{"startTime":220.291,"endTime":223.0,"body":"So I thought it was an interesting way to look at it and kind of, okay, what are"},{"startTime":223.0,"endTime":226.666,"body":"the code of ethics that our respective organizations"},{"startTime":226.666,"endTime":228.75,"body":"or personally that we operate off?"},{"startTime":230.458,"endTime":231.458,"body":"Yeah, it's a great point."},{"startTime":231.458,"endTime":234.0,"body":"Putting people first in many ways."},{"startTime":234.0,"endTime":236.791,"body":"You know, yes, the legal aspect and"},{"startTime":236.791,"endTime":240.291,"body":"then customers, employees, suppliers."},{"startTime":240.833,"endTime":243.0,"body":"And it's really relationship focused."},{"startTime":243.333,"endTime":246.625,"body":"And when you treat others know, listed or purchased."},{"startTime":265.125,"endTime":268.708,"body":"Just for comparison's sake, the average grocery store"},{"startTime":268.708,"endTime":270.291,"body":"has about 30,000."},{"startTime":272.0,"endTime":275.166,"body":"And the average Walmart has about 100,000."},{"startTime":276.375,"endTime":280.833,"body":"So if you look at the relationships with the suppliers,"},{"startTime":280.833,"endTime":285.166,"body":"there are very few in terms of SKU to suppliers."},{"startTime":285.166,"endTime":290.0,"body":"So you really have to build those Who here has ever played the"},{"startTime":364.5,"endTime":368.25,"body":"game of Risk because it was a popular one"},{"startTime":368.25,"endTime":370.0,"body":"in the Stewart household growing up."},{"startTime":370.5,"endTime":372.75,"body":"Peter, what, 50 times?"},{"startTime":372.75,"endTime":375.625,"body":"I mean, how many times did we play this thing?"},{"startTime":376.458,"endTime":378.125,"body":"How many hours of the night?"},{"startTime":378.416,"endTime":380.625,"body":"I mean, we'd be up midnight, 1 a.m."},{"startTime":381.083,"endTime":383.083,"body":"For those that haven't played the game of Risk,"},{"startTime":383.083,"endTime":386.0,"body":"in essence, it's a game of world domination"},{"startTime":386.0,"endTime":390.791,"body":"in which the board game, the board is a map of the world,"},{"startTime":390.791,"endTime":395.541,"body":"and you start off, assign certain countries and you build up armies and you take over."},{"startTime":395.541,"endTime":399.625,"body":"So we were raised in an environment of of world domination."},{"startTime":404.0,"endTime":405.5,"body":"That that's a fact."},{"startTime":405.5,"endTime":408.75,"body":"Okay, so some uh successful"},{"startTime":408.75,"endTime":414.75,"body":"strategies that we learned, Peter, that there were two strategies that seemingly"},{"startTime":414.75,"endTime":417.916,"body":"worked and I'll let you mention the two that worked."},{"startTime":417.916,"endTime":420.416,"body":"I'll mention the one that didn't seem to work."},{"startTime":420.666,"endTime":424.25,"body":"And it was if you went after Europe"},{"startTime":424.25,"endTime":427.541,"body":"or Asia that usually did not mean you"},{"startTime":427.541,"endTime":432.708,"body":"were going to win the war, you know, win the game and conquer the world."},{"startTime":432.708,"endTime":435.833,"body":"Too many countries to maintain right in"},{"startTime":435.833,"endTime":441.041,"body":"the smack dab in the middle of everything, you had to fortify too much, didn't win."},{"startTime":441.416,"endTime":445.458,"body":"Peter, what were the, the two strategies that did work?"},{"startTime":445.833,"endTime":449.5,"body":"Typically, there was the battle of... for North America."},{"startTime":450.0,"endTime":453.458,"body":"Usually building that out and then getting into South America"},{"startTime":453.458,"endTime":456.541,"body":"over into Africa and then from there the world."},{"startTime":457.0,"endTime":459.708,"body":"But the one that dad would always just destroy"},{"startTime":459.708,"endTime":464.0,"body":"us on early on was the Australia strategy."},{"startTime":464.666,"endTime":468.0,"body":"He'd sit there in that that"},{"startTime":468.0,"endTime":472.541,"body":"sector of the map and he would just patiently"},{"startTime":472.541,"endTime":475.083,"body":"build up his armies over time"},{"startTime":475.083,"endTime":479.25,"body":"because nobody was coming to Australia to take over"},{"startTime":479.25,"endTime":482.0,"body":"and then he'd turn in cards and just kill us all."},{"startTime":483.0,"endTime":486.0,"body":"So then we started emulating that strategy over."},{"startTime":486.0,"endTime":489.416,"body":"But it was just a lot of fun memories in terms of playing"},{"startTime":489.416,"endTime":494.0,"body":"the game together, laughing, uh the luck of the dice"},{"startTime":494.0,"endTime":499.333,"body":"and dad's patient, slow and steady accumulation of armies in Australia."},{"startTime":499.916,"endTime":501.333,"body":"Maybe there's a lesson there."},{"startTime":502.25,"endTime":505.75,"body":"Sometimes the slow, patient"},{"startTime":505.75,"endTime":510.375,"body":"development as opposed to, I'm just going to burn everything and go for broke."},{"startTime":512.041,"endTime":512.708,"body":"Yeah."},{"startTime":513.25,"endTime":517.125,"body":"So some insights for everybody"},{"startTime":517.125,"endTime":522.375,"body":"back in the Stewart household, a lot of Risk game playing, had a lot of fun."},{"startTime":523.0,"endTime":528.0,"body":"I have no idea how to make a transition from playing Risk to the subject at hand."},{"startTime":528.5,"endTime":530.0,"body":"And that's the transition."},{"startTime":530.0,"endTime":530.708,"body":"So there you go."},{"startTime":531.041,"endTime":531.958,"body":"Here's the subject, folks."},{"startTime":531.958,"endTime":532.541,"body":"Well done."},{"startTime":533.0,"endTime":534.583,"body":"Thank you.
